What is everyone's top 10 now that the Season is been going on for the past few weeks. I think their have been surprises, like Bonita, still undeafeted. Biship Amat with that record of one lost. Teams like Charter Oak, Northview, Walnut that typically do not have winning teams winning. What is your top 10?

i agree with sgvpride. lets create some buzz with the winter sports now.

sgvpride said:

Man these guys at the trib should start putting more effort into the blogs just likethey did for football

At least try and create some buzz like they always did for football...footbal season is over...the winter sports should be headlining the blogs not what charter oak did 2 weeks ago...

Now I know football sales but its over

Have an over or under on CJ or something to create a certain buzz...

Steve were charter Oak at and how did Rowland crack the top 10 and they are 4-6, where is CHarter Oak at man they are freaking 7-2

Boomer,

Thanks for the inside scoop. I'm sure Coach Flores has his hands full getting the "Chemistry" right.

Once again, good luck and looking forward to some awesome games!

boomer said:

info,

yeah i understand what you mean, no hard feelings, it is all just a discussion, but i don't think you can say that lvl is better than workman because they lost by less. that was my point. they beat the same teams and lost to the same teams.

luck to workman,

Cezar does play defense. he plays it well too. yesterday he was playing defense and kept getting fouls called against him. not only that he does pass the ball enough. there are certain times when the lobos need some momentum where he'll pull up and take a 3 or so, but other than that he does play as a team player well enough. Coach Flores is playing lobo basketball, not guerrero basketball. if you sit close enough to the team bench you'll here him yelling out to swing the ball multiple times. hes always getting them to start the offense. coach flores isn't putting all the pressure on cezar, you will never hear him say "cj, dribble up the court and pull up for a 3". thats the difference between coach flores and coach messick who left and is now at west covina. coach messick put everything on his best players(danny uribe and peter lemus), he designed his offense to get them the ball and not the open man. coach flores shows his players that he has confidence in every single one. the best thing that ever happened to workman was messick leaving for west covina.

Fact, how dare you say that the other kids can berely make lay ups? do you know the team as well as i do? do you know how great of an outside shooter jacob ramos is? or how strong and agressive andrew flores is? i'd love to see someone try to strip a rebound out of andrews arms... this kid is as physical as they come and a hardnose player. do you know how their biggest guy jimmy moran can shoot from the outside aswell? the lobos are deep. not to mention carlos molina, who is just an iron man player, he rebounds well and get his numbers on the offensive side aswell. ivan bernadino and is great ball handler and provides great bench play at the point guard position.

Get to know coach flores the way i know him and the people involved with workman high school know him, you'll see he is an amazing guy and practically flawless. he is a great role model to the students there aswell as to myself. i would not have graduated high school if it weren't for his help and support.

Sorry for any confusion, only point is that both lvl and workman beat ayala and margin of loss for lvl was less than that of workman vs N. Torrance. Yeah there are other factors, such as foul trouble. Both teams had foul trouble with n Torrance. No argument, this is just a discussion...right ?!?

Luck to Workman said:

Fact..

Thanks for the reply.
I've been hearing so much about Cezar and Workman that I found myself time to check them out last night.

One thing is for sure, there seems to be too much pressure built up for this kid (especially on this blog, if read). Hope Coach and kids focus on Teamwork and Development!

Fact! said:

Luck,

I think u have a point...But let me tell u if Guererro and Miles dont do there thing Workman has no chance to beat anyone...The other guys could barely make layups all they need to worry about is boxing out and grabbing a rebound or 2 cause they get killed on the boards night in and night out

I think the coach knows the only chance they have to win is if those 2 score

As far a CJ playing D i think he plays it when he wants cause he has great hands and instincts i think his legs were just gone by the 2nd qtr...that was just a terrible matchup for the Lobos cause they have no bench and pretty much no scoring after Miles & Guererro

Reality Czech...

It remains a reflection on the quality of the selections, preseason or not. That's the point. Might be time for a new poll. So, don't hate...appreciate.

The preseason rankings also were rife with roster & other errors and was abruptly yanked. But hey, you found a mistake, congratulations, just not the SGVT's. Czech u later.

Luck to Workman said:

Boomer and Fact,

As you say it is what it is. There's no doubt, that Workman will dominate in League play.
Two questions:

1. I'm I wrong when I say that there is definitely opportunity in getting Guerrero more involved in TEAM effort, as in defense and offensive team passing?

2. Does the Coach seem like he's playing Cezar's game and not his own?

Just an observation, and I wish them luck.

boomer said:

info,

lvl beats ayala by 3, workman beat them by 5. N Torrance scored 93 on lvl, and 92 on workman. the defense was just about the same. with miles and guerrero in foul trouble. whats your point?

reality czech said:

Dan7304-this was the PRESEASON poll before any games were played.
That's why Steve wrote:
"Just to refresh your memory, here are our preseason rankings"
your post shouldn't be deleted because you disagree-it should be deleted because you're ignorant and don't read!

boomer said:

i agree with you fact. workman did have no legs in this one. they played at 11, finishing around 1. and only had about 6 hours of rest before the next game. i could of been a better game, but it is what it is. N Torrance won, and now the lobos need to bounce back in the estancia tournoment. all n all, the lobos will be fine once league starts.

Fact! said:

By the middle of the 2nd qtr Workman was done as they are not a deep team and N. Torrance was...NT is a pressing team and the run when they get the ball...Workman played earlier in the day and had no legs...Guererro hit back to back 3's and it was a 20-21 game and then he picked up his 3rd foul cause him and Miles started to not move there feet and reach in...NO excuses but i think Workman can make it a much better game if they didnt play in the morning to keep there legs fresh as NT goes 10 deep and presses from start to finish

Dan7304 said:

#4 Bonita has beaten Northview twice in one week, but you rate the Vikings ahead of the Bearcats? This poll's credibility is at stake.

DRanch is the team to beat in this area, no doubt, but it seems that this poll was done by those not actually watching the games. Please don't delete my post just because I disagree with your horrible coverage.

info said:

LVL beats Ayala in 3rd place game. Workman loses 73-92 to N. Torrance in the finals, LVL lost in pool play to N. Torrance by 9.

boomer said:

yes workman did lose tonight, but they lost to good team. N. Torrance was quick on their press and was draining 3 pointers. the refs we're calling ticky tack fouls and thats why guerrero was in trouble. this was only their 2nd loss of the season, which comes at a good time. its early in the season and they played a good that should make some noise in the playoffs. N torrance was a good team.

fan said:

bishop beat damien for the west Covina championship with 8 secs left. Was an amazing game!

Luck to Workman said:

Workman lost to N.Torrance tonight, 73 - 92.
Workman was never in the game. Guerrero was in foul trouble from the get go, 4 fouls by the beginning of the third quarter. Once their Coach teaches them on how to rely on each other and also dribble the ball better (too much passing and turnovers)they will be a threat to teams like N. Torrance. What I saw tonight was the Workman Coach, coaching 2 teams, Team Workman and Team Guerrero. Just my opinion, and I sincerely wish them luck.

Fact! said:

Ayala tourny...there is a 5pm 3rd place game...it will probably be Ayala vs. LVL cause ayala beat palmdale and pomona is gabage

I told u guys i saw LVL play the game before Workman and they didnt look that good
