Top Softball teams in 2009?

I’m leaning toward Glendora, who went to the Division II title game, play in the tough Sierra, and have senior pitcher Dana Waldusky to go with Natalie Hernandez, Kelly Nolan and Briana Dworak all back. Okay, I realize that Los Altos has senior pitcher Diana-Lynn Patterson and Washington bound shortstop Courtney Gano, so there’s a good argument for No. 1. Others expected to be ranked high include San Dimas, South El Monte, Sierra Vista, Bishop Amat, and don’t forget the sleepers like Azusa, with sophomore pitcher Veronica Ramirez. She’s the real deal folks. Those expected to fall from last year’s top rankings include Northview, too difficult to replace Hannah Fraijo. Same goes for Covina, losing pitcher Jill Huntsman. Charter Oak? Well, they’re the huge question. They have the bats, but the question again, do they have the pitching to go with it?
