Boys Basketball: Glendora rolls past Damien

Glendora’s Kosmond Russell scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Tartans to a 65-45 victory over Damien in the Sierra League opener for both teams Wednesday night. The Tartans nearly blew an 18-point fourth quarter lead. Glendora led 47-29 with 6:47 left, but the Spartans went on a 14-1 run to cut the lead to 48-43 with 4:17 to go. The Tartans then closed the show with a 15-0 run to improve to 12-5. Damien dropped to 12-5. Glendora’s Calvin Smith had 16 points and Juan Martinez had seven. Damien was paced by Justin Latham’s 13 points and Chris Adams had 10.
