Pretty good post. I just stumbled upon your blog and wanted to say that I have really enjoyed reading your blog posts. Any way I'll be subscribing to your feed and I hope you post again soon.
Couldn?t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
Hrmm that was weird, my comment got eaten. Anyway I wanted to say that it's nice to know that someone else also mentioned this as I had trouble finding the same info elsewhere. This was the first place that told me the answer. Thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.
An additional reason why running to a doctor's place is unnecessary is due to the fact it is possible to utilize over-the-counter medication as yeast infection treatments. Once you'll be able to correctly identify the physical symptoms or a yeast infection, it is possible to use an anti-Candida cream or a suppository including Monistat as a cure.
This is a really good read for me, Must admit that you are one of the best bloggers I ever saw. Thanks for posting this informative article.

hello, lovely blog. one for bookmarks.
The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

Not the coaches fault its obvious that the supplement he had been taking caused this most likely a pre supp which is a good dose of caffeine and everybody reacts different to supplements but definently not the coachs fault
Today, sports in the US will die. Kids today are such sisses. I graduated from HS in 2000. I am female, so I never played football, but I can tell you many days in August did I puke and work out in 100 degree heat.
This situation with Stinson is scary because the kid's parents never allowed an autopsy!!!! Something isn't right, because they are obviously hiding something.
It is a scary world we live in when I kid dies from heat stroke and the coach is at fault. The kid was taking supplements!!!! I do not blame the coach one bit. He, and NO COACH, should be blamed in a heat stroke incident.

All of these coaches that want to push their players to be tough need to receive a very stern message. This criminal charge is essential. What happens during a football game? There are constant breaks in the action, and players do not endure the ridiculous abuse that these coaches feel compelled to subject them to in practice. Any coach that has any sense removes a player that is spent for a play or two to receive water, gatorade or whatever other nourishment is necessary for restoration. Instead this CRIMINALLY reckless coach, yes criminal, pushed these 15 year old kids far beyond what they would ever experience in any game situation. For what benefit and at what risk???? No LA INSIDER, if you were a coach you need to rethink your priorities and realize what a scary world athletes are subjected to."
It's guys like this is why good coaches leave the profession. WHo needs to deal with parents like that.
I guarantee you this guy had his kid on every little league, JAL all-star team on the planet. And then his little bundle of joy got hit with reality and ended up filling the gatorade bottles.
I have no idea what happened to my post. It's like two posts got intergrated into one or something. Sorry.
I don't know anything about that case, but that being said I am sick and tired of today's youth.
Is it me or are today's American kids growing up to be a bunch of sissies.
Give me a break. Some school districts in America have adopted a policy telling teachers to grade in green ink rather than red because red is a little too harsh.
No more dodgeball, trophies for everyone, everyone must play, jumping rope with no jump rope, stress cards in boot camp (I wonder what my DI would have done if I presented a stress card?). What's next everyone takes the same classes so nobody feels dumb.
If your grades are low you study harder, if you do not play than try and practice harder.
It is sad nowadays when we rarely establish goals for our kids.
Although I don't know if the teacher is at fault or not, but people need to start accepting responsibility. And instead of blaming care givers, teachers, government, principles, coaches, television, the internet, or anything and anyone else. I suggest they take a step back and look at the mirror.
Some of the best advice I got when I started playing was ..."Listen to your eyes!"
I've carried that thru in my coaching experiences as well. Kids are different now. They take supplements, are on all sorts of precription drugs and don't play outdoors as much due to video games and an assortment of other activities.
Sometimes as coaches we deny what we see. I alwyas had my players run based on size and speed. ten hundred yard sprints to a linemen is different than to a WR or RB. That's just me.
This player showed signs of distress. EVERY body is different but when teh body starts to shut down they all start doing the same things.
Was the coach reckless? Only he knows in his heart if he was. But my point will always be the same as my coach told me once...:"Listen to your eyes!"
I once told a player (CB) instead of looking pretty and strutting on the field look into the huddle, look at everything....the clues are there..stop thinking about "you" and start thinking about what's going on....and help yourself!
mayeb coaches need to adddress the supplement thing openly and get a good grip on medications from parents. Maybe they need to sign declarations starting their full knowledge of all these factors that play a role in what turns out to be life and death issues.
Coming up on my 50th birthday my wife hired a trainer for me. After this 5 ft 98 pound Nazi left me on the floor in a fetal position more than once she asked me what I thought about working out after not doing much for 20 years.
"I learned to have a greater appreciation for when the body breaks down and for the players I've pushed over the years."
What a terrible, terrible tragedy with no easy answers. We all educate ourselves bbeter: coahces, adminstrators, parents and yes...players too.

and just watched the video. The kid was taking medication for ADD?!.. There's no way the coach can be prosecuted.
Reckless homicide has a much higher standard than negligence and negligence is the most one is going to be able to prove in this case.
Sounds like a charge that is going to be fairly hard to prosecute. You have a sympathetic defendant in a case where a conviction can set a dangerous precedent.
Depending on what he is being charged with (and I'm not positive of how the CA criminal code defines crimes of homicide)the prosecution will either have to show that he intended the kid to dehydrate/overheat and die or that any rational person would have known that the kid was going to overheat and could die. I would think that the fact his father was there is fairly damning (any rational father would have stepped in if it was obvious his kid was going to die) and that there are 100 other kids out there that didn't overheat as going a long way to show that the coach wasn't displaying reckless disregard for the player's safety. If any other team in that area set foot on the field that day then the Dist. Atty. is in for a legal beat down (assuming the coach has a half way decent defense counsel).
Of course this doesn't even begin to touch on pre-existing conditions specific to the player. Was he taking supplements? Did he have any medical conditions? Did he drink water that morning? What were his parents feeding him? It could all get very ugly.
This should be left to the arena of civil suits to create the proper incentives for ensuring player safety and deterrents for irresponsible behavior by coaches and academic institutions. Criminal prosecutions should be left for criminal defendants.
First and foremost it is a tragedy that this young man passed away. If this case is allowed to go forward, and, this coach is found guilty of any charge related to this tragedy it will send shock waves throughout sport; youth, high school. college and professional. The liability issues alone will drive quality coaches from sport.
The opposite side of the coin is the fact that the young man that died was not the first athlete at this particular practice to go down with a heat related issue. I don't know if they had some sort of "heat policy" or oversight in place, apparently not, but the administration should be held accountable, as well, in any CIVIL proceedings, not CRIMINAL.
This is clearly a prosecutor who is being swayed by an outraged community. I have to hope cooler heads will prevail.
All I can say is "WOW!" It's already hard enough for high schools to find quality coaches and now something like this happens and lots of coaches will probably leave the profession because of it.
What an absolutely ridiculous case! I mean this is truly scary that a coach could be criminally prosecuted for an incident like this. It's bad enough that this coach has to go through the rest of his life with the memory of one of his athletes collapsing and dying on his watch, now he may be in prison as a result of simply coaching his kids?
If this coach is convicted and I were a HS coach, I would quit immediately! What a scary world we live in.
