Girls Soccer: Undefeated Amat stays No. 1
Rankings update: When did the Bishop Amat girls soccer team become an area power? I guess now, the true test comes in league, but a great start regardless. Glendora is a solid No. 2, then the rest are still finding themselves. Los Altos lost three straight after a good start and San Dimas is in a rut too. Those on the rise are Baldwin Park, Bonita and watch out for St. Lucy's and Walnut, I watched a good game between those two teams. They will have a lot to say before the season is finished.

Above: Walnut and St. Lucy's go head-up last week, finishing in 1-1 tie.
Girls Soccer Top Ten
1. Bishop Amat (12-0-3)

St. Lucy's upsets Glendora 2-1. SL dominated a good portion of the game with Glendora not really having any shots on goal except the one score. Great Job Regents....

Yesterday San Dimas beat Covina and Baldwin Park lost to Northview. Looks like Valle Vista is not a lock for anyone. By the way, thanks alot Robeldo for making the San Dimas coach #1 last year, now we are stuck with her. Hard to get better with a coach that does not talk to her players or run any kind of effective practice. Last year the girls did well in spite of their coach. Hopefully this year's squad will realize that is what they have to do. Go get'um ladies.

Bigdoglancer,
That wasn't my comment. Look again. Mr. PHOOEY was your target.
Thanks.

LA Parent don't confuse mean with discipline. The baseball program is a winning program and the kids & parents were lined up around the block at last nights open house just to talk to the baseball coaches (and all the athletic program coaches). People are watching and listening and they want to be associated with a winning program, as evidenced by last night. The crybabies who go home and tell mommy and daddy everything should also tell their parents how they are not hustling, not on time to practice or games, or how they forgot thier glove. Remember Amat disciplines the undisciplined. So don't confuse mean with discipline.

Amat 73 you are right on the classes that are offered at Amat are spectacular. They are all college prep and I did not know that 270 credits are needed to graduate, well above the public school requirements. The teachers at AMAT are solid in their course material, most if not all have a master's degree or are credentialed. My daughter plays soccer and is a top student. We are extremely happy with the academics, spirituality, and athletics AMAT offers.

Los Altos Girls got back into form this afternoon by defeating Bonita 1-0. Great job ladies! Keep working hard!

Success,
it's obvious that you do not have a student on the baseball team. That man is a jerk! He is mean to the players and talks down them. He does not carry himself as a true AMAT coach. AMAT coaches should be respectful and supportive of all student athletes. THIS MAN IS NOT A TRUE LANCER!!! He should be careful about how he treats those players because PEOPLE are watching (and listening) even when you think no one is.

Success,
Glad to hear you are happy with AMAT. Do not forget the great education to go along with the great coaching. Believe you me that AMAT education will open a lot of doors for your kids in the future.

Amat is turning it around with a solid coach in Ruben Gonzalez - Two time State Junior College Champion and National Champion. As well as playing the BEST players regardless of grade. Not the same old Amat in which you play only if you know someone. Those days are gone they are more professional today than ever. My daughter is fortunate to have superior coaches for soccer and my son to have the BEST football coaching staff in the valley. We are extremely happy with Amat.

walnut will do well but they're in a weak league to begin with.(besides South Hills). Maybe they should play the undefeated team like AMAT.

we looked solid against St. Lucy's and from all indications, we now have a line up that seems to be working. I like how we play a hard preseason and I don't think it has taken its toll on our girls. Talking with them they are upbeat and ready to start league.
