Just Tribbin

Anything and anyone you want to talk about

As far as this blog goes, tell me what you want more of and less of in 2009? JCaz's jokes? Blogger guest threads? I'm listening.

Comments

That must be him. No more tough guy posts from King Stud, as we all can see. He doesn't want anymore bullets fired his way. Worm!

Is Alcantar ...kIng Stud?

Come on now...we're on day 5 quickly to become Day 6.

WHO IS KING STUD???????

That sounds like Alcantar. You sure about this?

How do you know that he's King Stud?

Did he tell you he was or are you guessing?

He's a DR lower level FB Coach. He soured his relationship with son to the point of the kid not wanting to play his last season at DRHS. He's got a big mouth, and a big ego. But what he doesn't have is the pride of knowing his boy went all the way through. King Stud my a$$!

Once again my buble has been burst!!!!!!

Day Four and no signs of being closer to the identity of King Stud.

Maybe a reward would speed things up?

It's officially...

Day three!

Come on does anyone know who King Stud is?

The suspense is killing me!

We seem to have hit a snag on the King Stud Outting?

What a tease!

King Stud Waych...Day two

Some one actually KNOWS who King Stud is?

This is going to be a late Christmas "gift". Well it's going to be very interesting to see how perfect a life this drive by artist has and what an outstanding athletic career he's enjoyed.

Let's see from the sound of things he's at least a 3 time All Leaguer, made CIF his senior year and enjoyed the "perks" of a free college education coutesy of his remarkable athletic and academic skills.

Although the highlight of his life today is a wonderful and bountiful marriage and children who sh#t excellence. Oh and a Champion dog to round out the picture should complete the All American success story.

King Stud you're about to be outed....could God be so bountiful ? Maybe my prayers are being answered.

Hail Mart full of Grace....(I'm praying for you brother...I really am.)

the Lord is with You.....

Joke time.

Two old men had been best friends for years, and they both live to their early 90's, when one of them suddenly falls deathly ill. His friend comes to visit him on his deathbed, and they're reminiscing about their long friendship, when the dying man's friend asks, "Listen, when you die, do me a favor. I want to know if there's baseball in heaven."

The dying man said, "We've been friends for years, this I'll do for you." And then he dies. A couple days later, his surviving friend is sleeping when he hears his friend's voice. The voice says, "I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that there's baseball in heaven."

"What's the bad news?"

"The bad news is that you're pitching on Wednesday

jcaz,

That joke was at least understandable. By far the best joke you have said!

King Stud, patch things up you kid lately? You spineless two faced punk a$$ beee-yatch! Your about to be outted!

Ok, but I try to limit it to once a week (don’t want to over do it) or whenever the just tribbin tread comes on.

BTW, this is actually a sports related joke, but in some ways, you really have to wonder if there isn’t a little bit of truth to this one, given the passion that some sports fans have for their teams.

My friend (who owns the Chihuahua, remember him?) sent me this one to me just yesterday.

There was a Packers fan with a really crappy seat at Lambeau. Looking with his binoculars, he spotted an empty seat on the 50-yard line. Thinking to himself "what a waste" he made his way down to the empty seat.

When he arrived at the seat, he asked the man sitting next to it, "Is this seat taken?" The man replied, "This was my wife's seat. She passed away. She was a big Packers fan."

The other man replied,"I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. May I ask why you didn't give the ticket to a friend or a relative?"

The man replied, "They're all at the funeral."

drive by

Pathetic as usual
It takes a bigger man to admit a mistake and correct it than to dwell on it as you seem to be doing. People change and learn from mistakes. Remember pal when you point a finger at someone else there are three pointing at yourself. Nice drive post yourself.

jcaz,

...but what about a joke ?

Wow

Just got home only to see some intersting comments on this thread.

First of all, I am a bit surprised that I led off the disscussion this time around, but hey, no problem.

And....for what it's worth, just remember folks, in the end, it's just a blogg in here, not life and death.

Have some fun with it, and enjoy the good stuff, and good info, that comes along with it.

Cheers !

king stud...did you say that with a straight face?

You were probably one of the worst if not the worst drive by low lifes here.

People asked you to stop but you just giggled and went about your merry freakin way until the shoe hit close to home. by the way any more rudette jokes? those were funnnnnnny.

And now your the foutain of reason, give me a freakin break!

Pathetic as usual.

Fred,
If I were you, I'd just keep doing what you're doing now. Don't worry what these crybabies think or what they have to say. You can't please them all so don't even try. The majority of us like the way things are.

If these people don't like what they see, they can take their business elsewhere. They cry about the Amat threads but post on there anyway and never post on threads for their own school. They complain about the Guru but read those threads too. You'd think they had guns to their heads but they'd rather make life miserable for others instead of just skipping over the subject matter.

Let them shout their empty, hollow threats of not reading or particiapting on the blog anymore, we are better off with out them. Their bark is worse than their bite.

For mr martinez, Amat rules!

King Stud Said: "The best advice I would give to people is ignore the comments on the blog take them with a grain of salt and just keep doing what you do."

This makes perfect logical sense, but the problem is that some people (especially high school kids) cannot simply ignore some of these comments.

FAT HEAD aka Gano

What ever happened to FAT HEAD? That genius should assist the guru.

While I agree that people have been too harsh in regards to Fred I do feel he has brought it on himself. It seems he allows the blog to go a lot further when attacking certain coaches nut he protects others. I think that is the biggest issue I have with him and I see that as a lack of integrity in that particular instance.

Fred
Could you interview coaches in sgv for football around the end of April and ask them to give there opinions on what they think the strengths and weaknesses are from their competition next year.I don't know if some coaches will want to talk but i think it would be fun to here there comments so early in the football campaign. And then post the videos for us to see. Also could you please report more on track and field this year, not only the key events like the speed events and the hurdles but more on things like pole vault and shot put or discus. It would be great to see some articles on some kids we have in the area preferably before the season starts.I know the track and field season runs the same time as baseball but Fred I know you can do it.Fred one last thing I know you talk a lot about high stars and there successes and wear they will be going after HS but wouldn't it be great to just randomly pick a kid who has been giving his all and just doesn't get any attention but works his but of every day. Fred I think they deserve some attention to,they're only in HS once and it would be great to do a special story on a kid that is just working his ass off and not getting any attention.I know it would be a great story.

Stud - you're like Virginia Slims cigarettes (for the old-timers). I've gotta agree

Here is a great disclaimer/set of rules from another board that is usually pretty effective - and at least you've been told.

......is a moderated board. Posters can use psuedonyms, but all messages are uniquely identified and we can and will block access to anyone who abuses the board. Posts which violate federal or state law will be referred to prosecutors. Leave the garbage outside. Turn off your CAPS key. We reserve the right to delete any message at any time for any reason. If you don't like these rules, don't post.

and another thing.... more blogger guest spots, yes... but jcaz jokes? Yeah - alright I like 'em too. Nothing like a good, bad joke every now and then. Keep it up jcaz!

Madness..."can't take the heat ...stay out of the "KITCHEN"...I think it has been atributed to Harry Truman during his Presidency. it was in reference to a comment Fred said about players being in affect ready for the futire grilling of 'next level blogs, writers and fans".

The problem has never been the opinions of /bloggers/people but the hurtful things people/bloggers say to either defend, defame, embarass or just 'get off". Some drive by guys aren't worth the time to discuss them so I won't. Even that wasn't the worst in my opinion.

The worst has been the group silence.

There is a condition that happens when a "group" witnesses some one in danger. NO ONE ACTS.

However when are maybe one or two persons remarkably action takes place and peope, get involved.

A funny thing happened to me once when a relative asked me about this blog. "Hey man they sure are hammering you!" Then he proceeded to tell me his screen name and his "compa's" screen name as well.

After he told me "not to take things so seriously" I was left with one disturbing thought and a sickening feeling in my stomach...."why didn't "he" say something in my defense when it was getting really ugly and they were attacking "his" nephews. I'm sure i would have but then again that's me. Family is family.

The silence from decent bloggers has always been the most disturbing to me. Same goes for the parents and players I've helped over the years with money, time and jobs placements or whatever they needed. Sometimes nothing more than listening to them when I couldn't much else than listen. every time I thought at least I did what I could. Most of them I'd never met before.

This recent tragedy in Covina got me to thinking. What would happen if something happened to me. Who would be there for my family? I was struck by the viciousness of the act and the cowardly manner in which that crime was committed. And on Chrstmas Day to top it all off...that will be a tough Holiday for years to come. Why are people so mean to each other? I'll never know.

One thing I learned this year is people have short memories. You can never do enough for people. sooner or later it comes down to this. Some people will while most people won't.

Attack Fred and the Guru and bring up all sorts of jaded and twisted reasonings to make your points. Slam them personally and professionally. Drag them through the mud and giggle about it when no one's around. But sooner or later someone has to speak up and ask...why?

One thing I've noticed about this blog is there are less people on it during work hours. Maybe the economy doesn't allow for worthless computer time any more. When the "hits' no longer translate in "subcriptions" this blog will come down.

Fred it's embarassing to read the comments that have been written about you just to get rid of the Guru. Too bad they didn't storm the LA TIMES when the High School Section went away and all we are left with is the occassional Eric S. column instead of a a city wide view.

Fred for better or worst yopu never really understood the power of the blog. Aram did. That's why he's working for Fox. Never worry about the content only worry when there is none.

That's a sad view of teh world. My wife asked me the other day. "Why do you get 3 newpapers, and 8 magazines a month when you could just read it online?" "That's easy" I told her..."some one took the time to hold themselves accountable and put it in print!"

Figure that out and you'll know why this blog is the way it is.....no accountability.

Fred, I think you do a great job and I appreciate the hard work that you do. I take the threads poasted by the Guru for what they are, one man's opinion. Keep up the good work and do not let the whiners and the personal attacks get you down. Their comments are a reflection of themselves more than anyone else.

tomorrow night boys basketball. los altos @ workman.

Keep up the good work Fred. You can't please everyone, the majority enjoy your work. Keep it up, it's the best blog & most imformative around!

Here's my 2 cents.

Stop hawking South Hills. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. The Huskies have become more the worse with more the "Trib jinx" - AS THOU HAVE QUOTED b4.

YOU SHOULD BE PUT TO BLAME FOR THE OVERCONFIDENCE THAT SWIRLED AND STILL SWIRLS AROUND HERE AMONGST OUR ATHLETES, ESPECIALLY IN FOOTBALL.

Are You Proud Of This Blog Fred ?
I totally agree with you about the personal vulgar comments and it was not always that way back when the blog started
Someone not to long ago posted about how it was so much better back then with some of the early bloggers like Randy,Bleed's,Joe Colt, MTC,Joe Amat other names that escape me most of whom have moved on but patroled the blog. Now even Joe Amat get hammered by name calling. It's just not fun anymore.
You lost me at the kitchen comment though?

I don't think, for the most part, anyone is complaining about the poor comments about poor play or suspect coaching....it's the personal over the top comments that have ruined this blog.

If you can't see that than you're part of the problem. The LL and JAA selections still go on ...it's callled ALL LEAGUE and ALL AREA. Nothing wrong with favortism. Given that it mostly reflects on the process and the selectors and not he kids. However when we hear about the camel toe wife, the wife cheating husband, the I'll beat you up, the your son is a coward, the your mother sleeps with the AD or a myriad of low life comments then everyone would agree that's over the line. Especially since their are players and students who read these comments.

One last thing MADNESS...at the booster meetings and the comments in the stands...at least someone "knows who you are"...that in and of itself cretaes some level of descretion.

I find it odd that someone would reference the "kitchen comment" and then not hav ethe guts to sign with their real name. But then again that's what be accountable is all about...and on this blog that's in short supply.

Pretty amazing how some come in here and complain about this and that.
They are the same people who sit on boards of Little Leagues and JAA vote their kids on every all star team there is and when reality hits they blame it on bloggers!SAY WHAT?
Welcome to the real world you losers why don't you just wrap your kid up in bubble wrap for the rest of his/her life and send them out in the big cruel world.
I believe it was Fred who stated early on that if your kid can't take the heat here in a high school blog how in hell is he/she going to take it at the college level.
And those complaining about second guessing the coaching. Pull your head out of the sand that's been going on forever at booster meetings and the like. it's just the outlets now are bigger and much broader.
Bottom line if you don't like the blog go read something else. When I see anything containing the "GURU: I just simply laugh shake my head and move on to the next thread.

How about this. Get rid of this Bishop Amat favortism for the new year. Everyday there is something in the sports section about BA this Ba that and its all BS. Better yet get rid of the editor and we will have a better well rounded sports section.

Although I have put my input on this blog in the past, I always thought that the blog was bad for high school football. Yes it is used to expose high school athletes in a positive manner, however, it has been (more often than not) a negative form of gossip. Here are some reasons why I believe this blog is bad and should go away.

1. Athletes- There are times when people come on here and speak ill words of young kids trying their hardest playing football or any other sport for that matter. Although this is supposed to be a blog that helps promote and expose athletes in a positive way, it turns into kid-bashing. The old McDonough haters are prime examples. Just because someone doesn't like a certain kid, doesn't mean they should be able to anonymously insult him. The sad part is that these kids see these posts and think about the blog more than their respective sport since that it is simply human nature to do so. If a 14-18 year old kid is being talked about on the internet, he is obviously going to be distracted (as if high school athletes don't already have enough distractions).

2. Coaches- Many people use this forum as a vehicle to try and ruin coaches. The coaches throughout the SGV are extremely hard-working and do it because they love the game, however, they are constantly subject to scrutiny on this blog. No coach in
America is going to call the right play every time or have the perfect personnel in the game, but I can guarantee you that the people who come on here and bash coaches would not be able to do a better job. These coaches work tireless hours to prepare their athletes, yet some yahoo in the stands thinks that he can do better? And remember these are HIGH SCHOOL COACHES! They are not getting paid millions to be scrutinized like college and NFL coaches.

Parents- Several of the bloggers are disgruntled parents who come on here and post nonsense. They have their own agendas and there is no way to completely stop their rage.

Assumptions- I have heard several people say: "The blog said..." This is absolutely horrible because several people feel that everything on this blog is true. Fred instructs his bloggers not to take the blog so serious, but the sad truth is that THEY DO and there is nothing Fred or anyone else can say in order for that to stop.

I have ranted enough for now, but there are more reasons why I do not think this blog should exist. I'm sorry, but something that started out as a positive, turned into something dreadful.

You know I've always wondered what makes a grown man come on here and tear a person a new a-hole with personal attacks?

Coaching is always subject to arm chair QBs and disgruntled dads...that's a given. That's as common as green grass. But the personal stuff is more of a recent development.

Here's where I've always had a problem with this blog.... there's just no decency on here. At first I blamed Aram but really it's "us". Fred has tried to stop it by asking everyone to act like adults or to not take things so seriously but that clearly hasn't worked.

Sooner or later Fred someone will push teh wrong button and someone will atke things too far. It happens all the time.

Just look at the venom you're taking on here. What's shocking is the people who are doing this to you.

We've had this talk a couple of times Fred. Now you're on the hot seat. It's a terrible feeling to have people, anonymously tear you apart and question everything you stand for or built up with your hard work over the years. It's absolutely disgusting.

The irony of it all is a couple of thread ago we witnessed the destruction of lives for no other reason than someone didn't like what they were told. "I want a divorce." Who could think that anyone could shot a nine year old girl in the face out of sheer hateful anger?

Words are instruments. The blog is just an embryotic device that has yet to realize it's full potential....both good and bad. Words can move people to tears and inspire but they can also hurt and tear down the strongest amongst us.

Calling Fred out and questioning his career and hard eaned integrity wouldn't even make the Top 20 lowest points of this blog. The truth is most people who come on here and do the drive by comments are just lonely, cowardly gutless frauds themselves. The truth has been shown time and again that every loud mouth shuts up when their life is examined or they are finally outed.

Whatever the Guru is or wants to be I don't know or care. I asked him about a school once and based on his assessment I knew what he was about. In life we meet a variety of people. Some we like and some we like to hate. Apparently Guru falls into the latter. Maybe it's karma or maybe it's not...who am I to judge?

This much I know. The chickens have come home to roost. Fred, No one deserves the foul treatment they've had on this blog when things have crossed the line. A lot of bloggers have asked you repeated to erase hurtful...soem come off ...most do not. Never really understood that one myself but I digress.

There is a great movie by Oliver Stone called "TALK RADIO" that you should look at some time. In fact I recommend it to all bloggers. Some day these blogs and the people who think "don't take things so seriously" will ask themselves..."how did it come to this?"

Is it really that pathetic out there Fred?

From my vantage point I'd have to say the blog has run it's course. You and Aram never really understood the power you've been entrusted with.

That's not a slam, just an honest observation from someone who has been here almost from the beginning.

More haters who love to throw out the credibility and professionalism cards, then show their own true colors with their own comments. You call him a gravy trainer and a water boy, then go on to say I have no professionalism? Unlike some people, I don't insult others to make a point, I do it with a little more class and integrity. I've talked to South Hills coach Steve Bogan many times about the Guru, and Bogan never has a bad word to say about him, and in fact, he says he loves his passion and energy, and encourages him to keep working hard at his new job. That's right, it's his first year, but I know, everyone here expects perfection, because you're all perfect right? Bogan's opinion alone is more important than the so-called South Hills insiders who have your own agendas. I've also talked to coaches at, for example, Charter Oak and West Covina, South Hills' rivals, and have yet to hear a complaint about the Guru. Not one coach in the Valley or anywhere else called to complain about the Guru's comments on the blog. None of them ever complained to me in person. The only complaints are here, behind anonymous screen names and cheap shots. Since you'll love to quote Aram so much, "Cry me a river."

Blogger guest threads and more of Jcaz jokes!

Fred it is obvious that you and that wimp Ramirez aren't cut out to cover Football on this side of the 605.

Fred what don't you see that like over 50% of the blog see's.

Your buddy "The Guru" is a damaging your credibility as a reporter. Aram used him for what he was worth. lining up player interviews and such.He knew hie worth.

Fred dump him obviously he is ruining you reputation here in the blog and the Trib's readership also.

Fred, first off, Guru "knows" no more than the average guy watching the game from the stands, he's the equipment guy at SH ! does that tell you about his background, his level of expertise? he's very much biased and woefully under-educated, the "we" in his comments are just in fact his opinions and if you want to tell me that you're a scouting service and a professional one at that, what exactly does that entail? we live in a huge metropolitan area, a stones thow from SC and UCLA and the second highest recruited area for NCAA football in the country, these kids "guru" discovers are the kids he sees at the Nike Camps(he works as a waterboy there)it's not like he is striking gold in the middle of Idaho or Wyoming, nowadays all the major programs have their summer camps and invite the better prospects to attend, all this stuff is on the internet, kids attend 2 or 3 camps a summer, being a CIF-SS Foothill-Citrus Football Official, I don't know of any coaches who give "film" to this character outside of maybe his employer, this man obviously is a charlatan a gravy-trainer and only adds to the weak reputation of the Trib, if a University wants a kid in their program, they do not ask for guru and his people for an ounce of info in any way ,shape or form!.....you're cross country and track and field threads are well done by "respected" coaches and seem to be totally unbiased in content, I wish all the so-called minor sports had somebody with the knowledge of love that those guys have, to promote and report the HS scene in the SGV, read their threads and read the guru, guru comes off condescending and so phony, his constant use of "we" when it's only him, I had no problem with you or the Trib as far as respecting the effort you put into your career Fred, put the guru has cost you any respect I had in the area of professionalism and the lack of intelligence in this matter!

Not really high on the kid?

13) Kyle Salm - OLT - San Dimas -- Not really high on the kid. He has a nice upside in the fact that he is 6-6, 290. But he needs to work on his flexibility and his foot work. Idaho has offered him. Don't see anyone else coming into the game this late in the process.

Mom, if you have a concern, you can call me at work or send an email and we can discuss it privately. Without ever having a conversation or asking why I use the Guru, you write, "NO ONE RESPECTS YOU GIVING PERMISSION FOR THE SCOUTING GURU TO POST HIS OPINION." Looks like you've already formed an opinion of me. And for the record, you suggested that we "hired" him, we never hired him, the only difference between what the Guru writes and what everyone else in the blog writes (including yourself now) is that I create a thread for the Guru's opinion. I allow his opinion just like anyone else, as long as they don't go way over the line. Does he really bother you this much? I don't care what people say about other people, I get to know people personally and make the decision for myself. I'll repeat for the thousandth time, nothing the Scouting Guru has ever written has been mean-spirited, he promotes San Gabriel Valley football athletes (and because everyone doesn't get mentioned, that's where the root of the problem is), and he answers everyone's insults with integrity. Maybe he's rubbed some people the wrong way in the past, but he hasn't abused this forum, nor will I allow him too. If you want to call me and give me specific examples why I'm stepping over the line, feel free, I'd love to discuss it.

FREDJ,

YOU TRIVIALIZING MY CONCERNS REALLY DISAPPOINTS ME AND REACTING SO DEFENSIVELY PROBABLY REFLECTS YOUR SENSITIVITY TO A SUBJECT THAT WOULD BE A MOOT POINT IF THE SCOUTING GURU DID NOT EXIST ON THIS BLOG. YOUR PROBABLY RIGHT MAYBE I SHOULD CHANGE MY PERSPECTIVE TOO THIS IS JUST A BLOG BUT REGARDLESS YOU HAVE UNINVITED ME TO READ THIS BLOG ANYMORE AND FOR THAT I WILL REFUSE TO READ YOUR NEWSPAPER TOO. NOW I SOUND JUST LIKE YOU. PLEASE DO ME ONE FAVOR AND ANSWER THIS QUESTION. WHAT ARE THE SCOUTING GURU'S CREDENTIALS AND EXACTLY WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WHO APPRECIATE HIS HARD WORK AND DEDICATION BECAUSE NONE OF YOU ARE DOING THIS JOB FOR THE MONEY THAT IS FOR DARN SURE. LOOK AT THE YOUNG MAN BEFORE YOU WHO HAD ASPIRATIONS AND MOVED ON TO EARN REAL MONEY AT A REAL JOB. HE IS SOMEONE WHO WORKS HARD AND IS DEDICATED TO PRODUCING THE BEST PRODUCT HE CAN OFFER HIS READERS. I GUARANTEE YOU THE SCOUTING GURU WOULD NEVER EXIST IF HE WAS STILL HERE. HE WOULD DO HIS OWN WORK TOO. NOW I RESPECT HOW HARD YOU WORK BUT HIRE SOMEONE WHO IS QUALIFIED AND IS A NEUTRAL PERSON NOT JUST SOME FORMER FOOTBALL COACH WHO HAS HIS OWN ONE MAN BUSINESS FOR GOD'S SAKE.

SIDE NOTE: COULD YOU AND I TALK LIKE THIS IF WE WERE WRITING THROUGH THE PAPER TOO OR ONLY ON BLOGS BECAUSE LET'S BE HONEST PROFESSIONALISM DOES NOT EXIST ANYWHERE ON THIS BLOG ANYPLACE BY ANYONE.

DAMN,
Why don't you blow hards and naysayers shut up and enjoy the ride along with Fred and the GURU? Its all in good fun, because you disagree you should not be so nasty and foul fingered.
GURU keep up the good work and by the way, you should look at Williams # 56 Chargerss many awards no comment in your latest missle.

Jon Sutton, maybe you should try not taking everything written here so seriously. I don't, which is why I could care less whether you think I'm credible for letting someone else post their opinion. It's amazing how people continually attack a persons character and integrity by showing no disregard for their own character and class in the manner they which to criticize. You can't have it both ways. I allow the Guru to post his opinions, and you have the freedom to refute or disagree in the comment section. If you want to get mean and nasty, then you have your own issues to deal with. And for the record, as mean and hard as many of you have been on the Guru, he never resulted to your level by being mean-spirited back. Go back and look at the archives, he always tried to answer in a respectful fashion. How many of you can say the same?

Fred .....relax man I was posting that comment in jest! and yes I have noticed. No need to be so defensive with me man, relax
Although I will say this, the banter with those two and others was a lot more fun to read than some of the stuff you get nowadays. Does anyone remember the touchdown "Tribal Dance" controversy back in the day now those were fun to read and no foul language either.

I remember being at a South Hills passsing league tourney and Bogan told this "guru" to get him a bottle of water! In our football program we have a few of these types of guys trying to be part of the program, but they would NEVER try to call themselves "gurus" or give their take on high school sports or athletes.

Guru, know your role and keep that water cold and fresh for the SH kids.

Fred, stop letting this clown post his "expertise"! It's making you less credible!

Dream team...Since Aram's left he's had an open invitation to post threads, and I welcome other guest contributors too. If you've been paying attention, I haven't just used the Guru, Covina coach Kevin Glaspy sent a weekly track thread last year with leading marks, and Glendora assistant coach Bob Ramsey kept us up to speed during the cross country season. Help like this makes our blog better and gives all of you a variety of things to discuss.

Thanks for the opinions, my advice to mom and whitey is if you don't like the Guru threads, skip 'em, there are plenty of other threads. I'm sure the "Guru" conversation didn't spoil the banquet. Geez, give me a break. This is a blog, not a newspaper, the Guru doesn't work for us, but his scouting sevice that serves the SGV is a legitimate one, so I welcome his evaluations, whether I agree or disagree. Get over it, really. There are plenty of people who enjoy his hard work, and dedication. Why don't Whitey and others focus on trying to be a little more positive, maybe discuss the positive things going on instead of sitting around all day thinking up cheat shots. In fact Whitey, if you want to be a guest contributor, if feel like you have somethign better to add, email and lets discuss it.

By far less of the GURU, dump that guy.
Have a guest appearance featuring Aram and Mike the Clone bet you anything the blog hits would go through the roof. But only if you have a room big enough for those two meat heads.
It would be a riot to read some of the post.

way to go MOM! don't mess with MOMs fred, and please let guru and "his" scouts do their work in silencia, I'm sure(not) he sells his service for thousands (not)so let this glorified janitor go, he's nothing but a flim-flam man, a total scam

To start 2009 of on a high note, are you or any of your fellow scribes getting a feel for what our economy is going to do to school budgets? The arts and sports are sure to feel any cuts. Families and fans have already been covering some expenses for non-revenue sports and an extra or two for the others. Your input on the re-leaguing is where schools and can save on travel times and distance and attract more paid fans.

FREDJ,

I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE BLOG BEFORE SO HOPEFULLY THIS COMMENT POSTS BUT I AM BEING LOYAL TO THE TRIBUNE WHEN I SAY HONESTLY NO ONE RESPECTS YOU GIVING PERMISSION FOR THE SCOUTING GURU TO POST HIS OPINION. YOU SAY THAT HE IS FREE AND PROVIDES YOU INFORMATION TO DISCUSS ON DAYS YOUR NOT WORKING BUT YOUR ALLOWING SOMEONE ELSE TO DO YOUR JOB. WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT YOU WHEN YOU PREFACE HIS POSTS WITH COMMENTS LIKE THE ONES ABOVE. NO PREP SPORTS EDITOR BEFORE YOU WOULD LET SOMEONE ELSE MISREPRESENT THEM ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS ONE MAN BUSINESS CLAIMS TO BE THE WORK OF MORE THAN HIMSELF AND HE IS SO PARTIAL AND BIAS TOWARDS HIS HOME SCHOOL SOUTH HILLS. HE LITERALLY PROBABLY HAS NO FORMAL EDUCATION OR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN YOUR FIELD. HE SAYS THE INLAND EMPIRE HAS THE BEST TALENT AND THEN HE CONVENIENTLY INCLUDES DEEN AND LAMAISON IN HIS LATEST TOP 20. WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT HIM. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. MY POINT IS AT OUR FOOTBALL BANQUET FAMILIES AND COACHES HAD TO HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT THIS MAN AND EVERYONE WAS VERY UPSET. HE SHOULD NOT EVEN BE A TOPIC OF CONVERSATION ESPECIALLY ON SUCH A SPECIAL EVENING, AND WHAT IS WORSE I HATE MY SON HEARING HIS COACHES SPEAKING NEGATIVELY ABOUT YOU BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THIS SCOUTING GURU. DO YOUR JOB AND LET HIM DO HIS JOB. IF HE'S THAT GOOD HIRE HIM AND LET HIM WRITE FOR THE NEWSPAPER. OUR YOUNG MEN DESERVES BETTER AND MORE THAN ONE MAN WRITING ABOUT ONE TEAM. OUR COACH SAID HE WOULD BE REALLY INTERESTED TO HEAR WHAT SOUTH HILLS COACH WOULD HAVE TO SAY ABOUT HIM. HE SAID EVERY YEAR THEY PLAY SOUTH HILLS THE SCOUTING GURU ACTUALLY DID NOT EVEN HAVE ANY ROLE OR RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOW HE DOES WITH YOU. LIVE AND LEARN BUT THIS YEAR MOVE ON LIKE OUR COACH SAID HOW ABOUT TALKING TO THEM INSTEAD AND LET THEM PARTICIPATE IN THE CONVERSATION. THEY ARE THE ONES WORKING WITH OUR CHILDREN EVERYDAY. I REALLY HOPE YOU DO THE RIGHT THING.

no more"guru" just call him what he is, the equipment guy at SH, coach waterboy, Fred you look like an idiot giving this guy access to the blog as a "guru" what are you thinking?

no more Guru! stop making this blog a joke.
