Who is MV?
Fred,
MVHS 5-0 in league..
and nothing about them???..
LASoccerAlum,
aww.. boo hoo...
thats life..
welcome to the club..
if that were the case Mountain View should be 3 time defending CIF Champs...
LA will not be a success until they can get past the first round of CIF. They have had roughly the same starting lineup for the last 3 years and they are just now winning? It took them 3 years because the boys have had to do it on their own with no support. They should be 3 time defending league champions if not CIF. The best team has never been on the field at the same time. They are undisciplined. I hope the boys continue to do well, but if they do it will because of them making adjustments on their own because their sideline incapable of making strategic moves. The conduct of some of the players and parents is a disgrace to the Conqueror name, and until their so-called coach grows a pair it will stay this way. This is why all the alum I played with refuse to attend any of the games anymore.
Let's be real walnut is the best team in the Valley and have been for the last 12 years,This years tean is led by Dana Cantone and Krisse Slusser on offense and Marissa Woods and Nikki Mckee on defense has wins over South Hills,Bonita ,Brea Olinda, and a tie with Saint Lucy. They are undefeated in Leauge and in the Valley.
The only problem I have with the program is the Getto comments by our parents and all the red and yellow cards that we received. I only heard about this second hand. It sounded like it was a Wilson vs. LP game. Not a Wilson vs. LA game. But then again I heard those same comments first hand from some of our parents at the freshmen football games. These comments are coming from one or two parents but it makes the whole program look bad.
LASocceralumn,
You just made a fool of yourself again..."this is LA's first win in five years against Wilson." And then you go on to say, "The program has become a joke and it is a shame to see all that talent be wasted. I am ashamed to be an alum with the program in the state it is and of all those who have allowed this to happen." Let me ask you, since you seem to know everything. When was the last time LA beat a team such as La Habra, two time div-II back to back CIF champions? If the program is in such terrible shape...How can it get better than that? Currently they took first place in the first half of the season. They also played the Wilson tournament and went undeafeated. What else do you want to see? A few years ago they were winning one or two games during the whole season. Now they are not only winning games, but they are winning big games! We all know why you are upset...it's not the coaches fault! Sometimes our kids or "brothers" may not get playing time but the coach has a responsibiltiy to win and he upholds that by playing his best players.
Lets be a realistic Los Altos won! and for the alum that wrote that they are ashamed of the program,he should she the change that the program has taken in the past few years. To have a Los Altos teacher on the wilson side doesn't mean anything. He probably never play sports in he's life! just stop crying and live with it. life is not fair.
LA and Wilson played a great game and the refs always figure into it. As for LA always being better, this is LA's first win in five years against Wilson (except for the one they had to forfeit because LA cheated). The program has become a joke and it is a shame to see all that talent be wasted. I am ashamed to be an alum with the program in the state it is and of all those who have allowed this to happen. Many LA Soccer alum feel this way and that is why a teacher from Los Altos was on the Wilson side. You can't push away the people who want to help and expect it not to bite you in the end. I know many players on both sides and wish them all the best, but I can't support a program that has taken all that talent and wasted it because the staff is incompetent.
Way to go Los Altos Soccer! Both Boys and Girls teams are 1st Place! Keep up the good work.
Wilsonparent,
I will take your word for it only because I care for the Wilson and LA kids...As for the ref taking the goal away...well, you and I know that it's part of the game. We can continue to speculate all day what could have been. The reality is what it is.
Do I really have to? Can you just take my word for it? I took the refs word for it when he took the goal away from Wilson after he gave them the goal.
WilsonParent,
Show me the post you are refering to...in reference to the 2/5/08 game at Los Altos.
Way to go Lady Bearcats as well as the boys, now let's keep the ball rolling and get some more wins.
I remember seeing lots of posts about this particular incident last year. Los Altos won but it was a tainted win. Even friends from Los Altos have told me that Wilson got robbed on that last goal...
WilsonParent,
Stop already...I have seen your comments on this blog for the last few days now, and they are all very negative! Both teams played very hard, we both know that unfortunately the refs are a part of the game and there is no way to change that. Last year LA played Wilson at LA and tied. With 10 minutes left in that game, Kevin Martinez scores a second goal and to our surprise, it was taken away. The worst part about it was that the ref who took the goal away is the father of three boys all who have played soccer for LA. Long story short, nobody from the LA side complained. If we would have won that game, we would have clinched second place last year.
Soccerfan,
Good assessment of the game...the game is what it is now. Believe me when I say, if the Ref does not eject #13, 10 minutes into the second half, we would have seen a different 2nd half. Remember back at what happened...#13 is ejected, LA starts to panic and play sloppy, Wilson starts to score. Coulda, shouda, woulda...it is what it is!
Let's be objective: Los Altos did not dominate the game until they score their first goal. First 18 minutes Los Altos could not figure Wilson out. As a matter of fact, they did not take a shot on goal until the first goal. Wilson's starting goalie did not play. Wilson just took over the last 30 minutes of second half when they scored 3 goals but one of them was taken away. Los Altos won but THESE ARE THE FACTS. Good win Los Altos
FAn,
Wishful thinking...our best player got a double yellow! If you know anything at all about High school soccer, then you know that he gets to play the next game! Nice try...mabe next time. If you were at the game you would have noticed that we ended the game with 11 players. Good luck figuring this out!
THX FRED, I'LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO, NEXT GAME IS THURSDAY AT NORTHVIEW, TUESDAY AT GANESHA, AND HOME THE FOLLOWING THURSDAY VS SAN DIMAS.
GO BRAVES !!!!
Los Altos dominated most of the game, they deserved to win. lets be realistic wilson couldn't stop los altos play, or play like them. if you know about soccer ypou know it takes a team to win, not one player like wilson does. we cannot blame the ref's. The ref's were both horrible they were not on the same page. That's how soccer is, blame it on the ref's if you can't win
Bravetown, you're right, maybe I have underestimated the Braves. Thanks for the updates, if not for you, we would get no results from Baldwin Park, they don't post rosters, and rarely call in scores. But I will cover a game soon regardless. You should talk to the coaching staff about reporting results so we can follow them properly. Same goes for South Hills boys soccer.
yeah, ref in Wilson side dominated and that's why the other ref took the goal away after he had already called it in. Guess what, it was your home game....We get you at home...We did not tie Diamod Ranch, we beat them...You guys have 10 points, we have 9. Your best player got a red card for the next game....
Yes Los Altos won but with the help of the ref. That's what always happens with Los Altos, they always get the breaks with CIF and the refs. I wonder why...maybe Gano or someone knows someone there. I heard the ref that called the goal and then took it away is related to one of the kids from Los Altos. Talk about favoritism.
FRED,
CAN YOU DE A FAVOR AND POST THE TOP 3 TEAMS FROM EACH LEAGUE, AND THAN JUSTIFY THE VVL IS NOT AS TOUGH AS THE OTHER LEAGUES.
GO BRAVES !!!!
BP 8 COVINA 0
BP DOMINATES THE GAME. AND IT WASNT EVEN THAT CLOSE. BP RESERVES PLAYED ALMOST THE ENTIRE SECOND HALF.
GO BRAVES !!!!
LA clearly dominated the first half. The ref on Wilson's side dominated the second half. He was so biased in Wilson's favor it wasn't funny. It was obvious how it was going to be even before the game started. The referee who worked Wilson's side of the field was laughing and joking with Recinos for at least 10 minutes before game time. They looked like old friends.
Wilson can have there moral victory and whine about the refs but the bottom line is LA Won. Its final and in the books 3-2.
Lol doesn't it hurt Cats? Especially when it comes to losing like that to LA! I may be rubbing it in a lil but what can ya do its a rivalry. Los Altos will always be surperior to Wilson!
>:)
LA Won once again proving it against lowly Wilson.
Blame the refs n complain about it all you want but Get over it Cats yall lost!!

i heard ppl whistling ... it was funny how we heard whistles being exchanged by the LA and W sides ..lol .. it went from one side to the other and back ..lol
Goalie did not have posession. The ball never was in his possesion and he trips on players on the floor. Hey game is over. Los Altos wins but the ref was wearing a blue jersey on this one!!!
I've watched it on video over and over. The Wilson player is on the floor and the goalie trips on him and NO CALL is made but then later after the ref had already called the goal, he changed his mind. Good win by Los Altos, refs are part of the game and for the most part are incopetent. I wish the athletes did not hve to suffer the mistakes by people who are getting paid to do their job
Soccerfan,
LA's goalie had the ball in his hands and is taken out by a wilson player,he drops the ball and they score
I just reviewed my video and it was early a foul. In addition, the ref on the far side was too busy talking to the Wilson coaches as all this was happening...
Agreed, with two competent refs, I believe the game would have been more interesting, as most of the cards wouldn't have happened, and Los Altos's best player Kevin Martinez would have been able to play for the final 30 minutes of the game, instead of being penalized for a phantom call.
Girls soccer rivals, Los Altos and Wilson went head to head today in a heated battle. Tara Cofer made the winning goal by heading in a corner kick by Lauren Stupin. GREAT GAME!!!
It is sad when the refs become an integral part of the game and affect the score of the game. He CALLED the goal for Wilson and then switched his own call. Los Altos won the game but you have to wonder what would of happened with two competent referees.
What the heck was a teacher in a Los Altos polo doing on the Wilson side for both the JV and V game. If you are going for Wilson that's OK, but at least have the brains to change shirts. What a joke!
In response to SoccerFan, it was a great game as you said, but the ref on the Wilson side also changed drastically at halftime swinging all of the momentum to Wilson by making almost every call for Wilson. As you said the ref became part of the game.

LA girls won both of their soccer games at Wilson Tuesday, the varsity, 2-1, and JVs, 1-0. LA travels to Bonita Thursday for the girls contests and the boys entertain the Bearcats. The Bonita girls varsity gave LA all they could handle at home Jan 13, dropping a close 1-0 game. This one should also be close.

GO LP!!!!
Los Altos played a hell of a game today and did what it had to do to win. But with all do respect, Wilson came back and had a goal taken away after both refs called it a goal and then one of the ref changed his mind after a Los Altos player talked to him. I have no problem with Los Altos winning the game but it is WRONG when ref become part of the game. Good Win Los Altos
