Soccer postgame thread: Saints win 4-0

| | Comments (12) |

Note: If you've come back from a game and have the results, post them in the comments section. I'll update in the morning. Next week we hope to launch a daily preps scoreboard that will look similar to our blog, only you won't be able to comment, it will simply be used to update scores as they're called into us.

San Dimas' Ariel Shore scores a pair of goals in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Baldwin Park.

Tuesday's soccer results
Girls Soccer
Northview 2, Ganesha 0
La Salle 3, Bishop Amat 1
Gabrielino 2, Mountain View 0

San Dimas 4, Baldwin Park 0 - If there was admission, it certainly would have been worth the price to watch Baldwin Park High goalkeeper Jesse Garcia. But there was only so much the sophomore could do against San Dimas' relentless pressure. After tipping shots over the bar and diving to her left and right to keep the game scoreless at half, Garcia couldn't stop the Saints from opening it up in the second half. Saints forward Ariel Shore scored twice and Brooke Lambert and Breanna Celaya also scored to lead the Saints to a 4-0 victory over the Braves in Tuesday's Valle Vista League game. The Saints fired 21 shots and Garcia recorded 11 saves, but it wasn't enough.
Los Altos 1, Diamond Ranch 0 - Malaysia Avery scored the lone unassisted goal to give the Conquerors a huge win over the Panthers.
Walnut 1, South Hills 0 - Megan Leu scored the lone goal for the Mustangs, who won a big game on the road at the District Field. I caught the end of it, the Huskies had a breakaway in the 89th minute and couldn't finish it. Then in the final seconds, the referee called a foul that was a yard inside the Mustangs' penalty area, but the ref did what most ref's do that late in the game, placing the ball an inch outside the left-corner of the box instead of awarding a penalty kick. The Huskies couldn't convert and that was that.

Boys Soccer
Workman 2, Azusa 1
Wilson 3, Bonita 0
Los Altos 0, Diamond Ranch 0
La Puente 4, Gladstone 2

The McD photo were he's covered in mud in defeat was always a favorite.

How about it Fred....no more recycling of old photos.

Was at the LA-DR boys game yesterday, LA did not play well and DR looked very ordinary. LA has played much better teams and has come out on top. If they play their game they can beat anyone...

The Northview women's soccer team defeated Ganesha today 2-0. This sets up a battle for first place in the Valle Vista between Northview and San Dimas who both stand at 3-0. Hopefully, both teams will be ready to play in hopes of a good game at Northview on Thursday.
