The San Gabriel Valley Umpire Association will hold its first meeting for new baseball and softball umpires on Jan. 14 at Citrus College at 7 p.m. For those interested in becoming a high school umpire, contact Dennis Miller at 909-599-9919. The San Gabriel Valley Baseball and Softball Association on the west side of the Valley is also looking for umpires this spring. Those interested should contact Ron Ainsworth, 626-824-4140 or Carlos Salazar, 626-482-8800.

Your umpires suck! They don't understand a strike zone on a curve ball, change up or braking ball. They only call stikes when it is a fast ball down the middle.

They won't even acknowledge a manager when a manager is asking for an appeal on a call. They just stand there like idiots.

I manage 2 teams. I have scene lots of games. I don't argue or appeal much. But the umpires doing dist 20 little league allstars are very unfair. I also noticed if your a league that doesn't use your service you won't get a call or the same strike zone!
