Baseball and Softball is coming, I promise
TAKE A LOOK -->: At the top right of our blog under links I have added several local high school prep pages, and prep sites that you might be interested in. If there are any other links you want added, leave it in the comment section and I'll take a look.

Just some housekeeping for you, the Softball preview is scheduled to come out March 3 and the Baseball Preview on March 4, followed by the official start of the season for both on March 5. Until then, you can talk about it all you want. Meanwhile, I've got some quarterfinal soccer and semifinal basketball to think about.

I believe it's spelled TURD - T U R D.
No Play (Except Nuts),
You obviously know who I am from you IP look up, so I will be at the game tomorrow why don't you come see me.
YOUR SON DOES NOT PLAY BECAUSE HE SUCKS....YA.. THE MIDGET WAS RIGHT ABOUT HIM...A GIANT TERD.
Fred J,
STFU, Here IP this!!! NUT JUGGLER, BTW how much playing time is the midget promising you?
You parents really need to get a life. These are all good KIDS. The Blogs should be reserved for talking sports-not bashing kids. I have a dead-on theory the parents that are quacking in here are always the ones with there kids sitting the bench or getting limited playing time. Don't you get it... It really does NOT matter how much time you waste bashing the players your kid will not get anymore playing time. The coaching staffs at all the schools know talent and play the best kids the feel give them the best chance to win. So go blow some hot are in a social chat room, IDIOT's.
and lastly, Amat Parents.. do NOT be fooled by the faceless blog WE KNOW EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE.....WATCH WHAT YOU SAY...Coaches have access to the url/ip address and can do "what my IP reverse look-up" It says what city the IP is located in ?????LOL then the roster has your address....CAREFULL BASHERS.....
Joe,
Sorry but McNitt is not 5'10" more like 5'8" and he does not throw 87mph more like 80-82mph, he has to rely on hitting his spots and has shown that he can do exactly that, but if my memory serves me right, he did this same thing last year and after a few games and innings he started to leave the ball up and was punished for doing so. So it is a wait and see game with him though I do wish him the best of luck.
WOW!!! Looks like I may have fan (STOCKER)....Amat 90 is not the same as Amat90, I do not happen to agree with his vile words. Amat has plenty of pitching and will need it during the long season, and like I have already said all will be just fine.
Hey imposter,
Seriously, "grow some nuts" of your own and pick a different name... not that it's on my birth certificate or I have it copyrighted... but you get the deal... right?
And really, why don't we let our play speak for us at the beginning of the season. Let's show some of that pitching depth during the Glendora Tournament and I might even lend you the nickname for a couple days... deal !:?)

Cuevas absolutely BLOW's.
He will get almost 0 time on the mound (unless they are up by 15 runs and have Paez to bail him out.)
I Agree with Amat 90. Amat only has 3 real pitchers. They are lucky because they are AWESOME......
Sorry to say Amat only has 3 Real pitchers :
PAEZ---MCNITT----ZUNIGA....
Thats It. The rest could not pitch to my 11 year old's Travel Team.
That is why these 3 will be going to college to pitch and the others will not.
Sorry it is just the facts..They will speak for themselves .
Pac 10 Scout,
By the way the accurate scouting report on Mcnitt is 5'10, 170 , and fast ball at 87 . all documented by the Amat coaching staff. (grab a bat). Let's Rock....
Pac 10 Scout
YOU really have no idea.lol , Grow some nuts and go ask the coaches about Mcnitt. hell they may just want to check with you on how to scout for college pitchers.the amat pitching staff is really strong and will carry this team,Nieto will even tell you that. There will be a pleasant surprises when the stats. are totalled after their CIF championship.
Amat pitching staff appears to be a toss up. Paez looks good and appears to be the only solid starter. Zuniga has to earn his right to be mentioned in the same pitching sentence with Paez. Fitzgerald, Grijalva, Cuevas and Mc Nitt will have to take up the slack in whatever rotation works out best for the Lancers. Whatever direction the pitching goes, they will have to keep the ball out of play because Defense on the left side is still very weak on this team. There has got to be kids at AMAT that can play Third base, SS and swing the bat better than the current incumbents. THIS IS AMAT FOR GOODNESS SAKE! In my probably unpopular opinion, the outfield appears to be exceptionally suspect also. Outfielders should BANG the ball and possess GOOD THROWING ARMS! These guys may be nice kids with great parents but I don't think they give Amat the edge to win games. Sorry, one man's opinion. Needless to say I hope this all gets worked out in the next two days because three days is too late. See you at Henderson!
McNitt Fan,
You are correct McNitt has looked to be the steadiest of all the pitchers during the winter and coming into the season. As far as Grijalva or Fitz both throw much harder and both have good breaking pitches and Fitz has a great straight change, but they both are very inconsistent although they both had great summers and falls it did not seem to translate into the winter. As for Paez and Zuniga they been themselves doing what they do. This is going to be a team predicated on it's pitching and in the end it will all be just fine.
McNitt Fan
All McNitt has is a hot mom!!! If he is being looked @ by a Pac Ten School then so is the rest of the team. You must be a family member. Keep dreaming!!!!!! I would take Grijalva or Fitzgerald over McNitt any day.
patrick, funny story. one of my last coaching gigs was as an assistant girls basketball coach at holy name of mary. I had this total "tomboy" of a girl who would go a mile a minute and cry in fustration almost every game. she could care less about the rules of basketbal ! she was a wild, energetic dynamo who had teh habit of wiping sweat off he face or get her hair out of her eyes. seeing as we're out doors ...she's a mess every day. she was a favorite player of mine because she wanted nothing more than to win.
The next year I'm walking thru a crowd of Damien students at a football game, it crowed as usual, and I see this girl looking at me..and suddenly she scream, HEY COACH!...Patrick as God is my witness this "tomboy" was now a beautiful, perfectly made up Elizabeth Taylor in National Velvet beauty!...I stood there with my mouth iopenn from shock...and she says again, "Hey Coach...remember me?'
That picture reminded me of how girls can make warrior faces, compete as tough as boys, be a pleasure to coach and then walk off the field and "beauty up"...that was crazy!
I went home and told my daughter...she said..."Dad.... well she is a girl...what did you expect?" Lady Warriors. Too much, lol
Which Pac-10 school is looking for a 5'6" Pitcher with average velocity?
Brandon McNitt looked his steady self this weekend against Loyola. Brady Zuniga started against Loyola and did a great job on the mound. Matt Vail came in next and got welcomed to varsity baseball by walking two and giving up a bomb. That's when Brandon McNitt came in and shut the door on Loyola. Final score Amat 6 Loyola 3
In game two Justin Grijalva started and looked good for two innings. He unravelled in the 3rd inning. The Lancers turned to Joseph Fitzgerald and he got out of the 3rd inning. He seemed to run out of gas in the 4th inning being relieved by Anthony Cuevas. Cuevas had a difficult time time finding the strike zone walking 5 batter sin a row. The Lancers fought back and took the lead 9-7. That's when Paul Paez came in and did what he does best. He blanked Loyola for the 9-7 victory. McNitt might turn out to be the unsung hero of the pitching staff. One prestigious Pac-10 school is already looking at him.
Work the count for a walk. Steal second. Sacrifice bunt to third. Score on a Sac Fly. Paez throws a shutout. 1-0 Lancers.
That'd work for me !:?)
Should be interesting.
?????-Didn't Amat just win two this weekend? Apparently someone can still hit on the team. And I guess they can pitch too.
What will Nieto do this year without the pop in his line up? The last couple of years he was able to bunt because he had Reyes, Mistone, Seymore, etc..... to drive in runs. Genzik, Ruiz, ?????????????? Ha Ha..........NOT! Who can hit on that team?
@Great Shot, dont worry im not really about to give up females, it was said as just a funny aside! Im sure she is a cute girl.I bet she would chuckle if she hasnt already seen it which im sure she has.
Hey, im the greatest thing thats ever happened to women...LMAO..jk guys!
Patrick come dude grow up and stop hating women...that's a great picture!!!
As usual the Tribune gets the shot right!
How was the photographer Fred?
Those guys need some "love" as well
patrick, that's Courtney's game face, and please don't let this picture deceive you she is a pretty young lady!
UR confusing entitlement with loyalty, best players play regardless of class. Do your homework before u pop off what returners are u referring to - fox, seymour, reyes, mistone, hererra, boomer all graduated -returning (mclanahan, bergara, rodriguez starting 09). As I see it six open spots to WIN outright by anyone.
Fred, can you please change the photo at the top of this thread. Looking at that girl with that face makes me want to give up females all together!...LoL
Relax morons. Andy has two Championships and working on three!!! Haters need to step back! Andy Nieto is a coaching genius! Northview beware Zuni-Gun is waiting for ya!!
What The
You are absolutely right!!
Way to go Coach! Way to name a player that has not played ONE high school game over your returning starters that have won two championships for you!! Boy, do you have a short memory? I guess the threat of transfering got to you! Hags would have said see you. It will be interesting to see how your players will react after dishing them for a freshman which has proven absolutely nothing. Way to give back to your loyal players!!
O.k. It's late and I'm out of Colt 45 Go Vikes!! Half pint I'll see ya in the Glendora tournament if you make it that far.
Coach Ernie
AMAT is in for a long season. You better print that list of Players to watch...I am. At the end of the season I will break it out to see who's still on the list. Most glaringly to me...A FRESHMAN! A freshman who has not even played A GAME? WOW! I dont see it! Plus, he wont get any better playing with half pint, although he may turn out to be a world class bunter on his college team.
Wait a minute...I saw the L.A. Times today and under the "PLayers to watch article" I didn't see one AMAT kid on this list. You AMAT dads need to quit...Who wrote this, Mr. Ruiz, Mr Zuniga or the Zookeeper. Maybe Sir Bunts Alot sent this list in so he could give his "Boys"some ink. The only one on here who might get some recog is "the animal".
Is Regan making some Fadorade tonight for tomorrows scrimmage? Remember San Dimas, you drink the good stuff after you win it, not lose it.
Congrats Gio, Jason & Jeff.. looking forward to a great season..
Don't forget Goodwin from Diamond Ranch and the guy who may be the highest draft pick from the whole valley next year, Covey from Maranatha .
How did they get all those Bonita kids in there? Must be a misprint.
The LA Times just released its top players in high school baseball. The players from the SGV are:
Gio Mier- Bonita
Jeff Gelalich- Bonita
Jason Plowman- Bonita
Derek Klena- South Hills
Christian Ibarra- South Hills
Paul Paez- Bishop Amat
Brady Zuniga- Bishop Amat
Rio Ruiz- Bishop Amat
Ryan Arnold- Northview
Richie Pedroza- Northview
Eddie Pedroza- Northview
Bryce Rutherford- Arcadia
Dylan Covey- Maranatha
Dusty Sanderson- Temple City
Eric Smith- La Canada
I can't wait for baseball to arrive finally. I will tell you this...San Dimas will not win the league and will lose big games because of character issues that start at the top and filter down.

Who do they have besides two guys?
Plus the coach is horrible and a big joke in this league.
Under Coach Rigney, AZUSA AZTECS BASEBALL WILL BE DEFENDING THEIR MONTVIEW LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP THIS SEASON!!!
We have a lot of returning players coming back. Have another great season AZUSA!
Remember this AZUSA had St. Paul in the second round last year. That was a naile biter to the end.
Have a great year ARRON MARTINEZ!
Fred Division IV looks tough as well with the addition of the torrances elsegundo and paloma valley Bishop A and Pomona C are gonna have to really play. Whats the deal with division V who are the strong teams it looks a little cream puffy over there now.
go bonita!
yes, we are looking forward to great things from Miramonte this season
Div III also has the Miramonte league w/ Charter Oak, Bonita & Diamond Ranch. D-III is very strong now.
Fred what are your thoughts on division III with the addition of the sierra league has this division just become one of the strongest. This has to make things very difficult for the likes of Burbank and LA. Can you post a list of what leagues that have changed divisions.
Fred
im selling white flags- (cheap)
Thanks, now you've just started a baseball-softball fight.
girls softball, fred boy i cant wait..whats next power puff football.way to take that money away from the boys going to college.without the football money it brings in there would be no girls sports at all..how come a girl can play on a guys team, but a guy cant play on a girls team..lets fouces on the real sport baseball this season theres a couple high round draft picks in the area for the up coming season,,, never seen a woman in the bigs,,the closest was ila boarders..next
Fred, I think San Dimas wins it all this year. I think they will be much improved
Do I get blamed for that picture too? That's a great, "lets get this season started," photo.
Hey Fred- Great Picture
