BHoops: Home Sweet Home in Semis

| | Comments (14) |

There are supposed to be alternate sites in the semifinals, but all that really means is if you get a home game, you can play it nearby, which worked out well for Valley fans wanting to watch everyone in the semifinals. Glendora and Damien will switch gyms on Friday. Strange isn't it? But it works out well for both. Nogales will play at Rowland. BTW, even though Diamond Ranch lost, they might not be out of the state playoffs. Stay tuned. Also, which of these three area games deserves top billing on Friday?

This will be the end of the road for Glendora.Leuzinger has a good team, saw them in a tournament in Redondo Beach and should beat Glendora by 10 points.Sorry Tartans its going to be the end of the road Friday. Its been a good run.

Can you do the two minute drill for basketball semi/finals.I think you owe this much to to the girls and boys basketball teams.

Glendora has played 3 teams that were 3-4th place in their leagues and for the first time will play a quality opponent. TOHS is just as good as Leuzinger and the lancers will win this weak division. The real hoops is played in D1AA and after that D1A. Once the state playoffs start the D1A teams will be out early and cannot match up with Mater Dei,MLK,Fairfax,Westchester. SGV not a great hoops area as few D1 players in this region. Damien has 2 chances vs Eisenhower slim and none. Chino Hills could make it to the finals.

Yes i do and that we are just clicking now and playing alot better after getting blown out at Glendora and against Chino Hills and other league games. If Adams can be consistent and be as good or close to as good as he was last night, we have a really shot

"Damien is finally living up to it's potential"., and by Damien you mean D.U.N.N....right?

Damien finally playing up to their potential, and finishing games wow finally. As one of the few people who have seen Eisenhower play Damien in the summer and saw IKE this season, we better avoid turnovers and limit Eisenhower's fast break points or they will run us back to our house. They want to get up and run and shoot 3s, they dont have a big man, they are a guard oriented team who rely on Andrew Bock, a 6'1 sr pg goin to Creighton hecan drop 30 on you in heartbeat. If we defend, limit their fastbreak, use clock and have good possessions we will have a shot, if we dont do that they could hit 100 like they did 3 times this season.

Glendora is in as much trouble as we are, Leuzinger is very good, i have seen them play, another guard oriented team. Jerry Evans, Delon Wright and Julian Wheeler are 3 star guards/wings who love to get up and run and score. If you let them run, they will run you back home.. Good Luck Spartans

Strange that Thousand Oaks was made the top sead in Glendora's divsion yet they were co-champs of their league and Leuzinger won their league and is ranked top 10 in LA Times and #9 in the state per Max preps. Would have been nice for Glendora to play Thousand Oaks first...better change to get to the finals. Oh well, should be a great game Friday and another mountain for Le Duc to try and climb. The first 3 opponants for the Tartans have been good teams, but this one sounds like a beast. It will be interesting to see just how much Glendora has improved. This is more like the El Toro, North and Etiwanda tests of last year. Good luck. Also with the game times or nights were different so that I could see Damien play at Glendora as well. That is going to be a tough one for the Spartans as well. I see Chino Hills also won. Last year they and the Tartans made the semis (almost met in the final) and this year 3 Sierra leaguers in the Semis. I don't think any of them will get to the final, but it has been a great showing for the league and also by the Valley as a whole this year. Who says the SGV is not a great HOOPS area!

I KNOW THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BASKETBALL, BUT IS IT TRUE NORTHVIEW WAS STRIP OF IT'S C.I.F.WRESTLING TITLED. BECAUSE OF CHEATING BY THE N.V. BOOSTER MOM, CHANGEING THE PONIT SCORE ON THE BOUT SHEETS. SHE SAID IT WAS A MISTAKE BUT ALL NINE MISTAKES WERE ONLY WITH NORTHVEIW BOUTS AND ALL MISTAKES FAVORED NORTVEIW
