Glendora tournament: Down goes Amat, Down goes Amat, Diamond Ranchs wins marathon, 12-11, in eight innings

The Latest:Thank goodness we didn’t try to cover this on deadline, because officially ending around 11:15 p.m., Diamond Ranch, a 1-0 loser to Northview in last year’s Division IV finals, stunned Bishop Amat at the Glendora tournament, outslugging their way to a 12-11 victory in eight innings on Mondy night night in front of a packed house at Henderson field, so I’ve veen told. Whatta ya think, instead of Amat-Northview II, looks like we might be revisiting DRanch-NView II. Unless say, Glendora has something to say about it.

So Northview beats Bonita 4-3, Bishop Amat beats Alta Loma 8-2 and Glendora opens with a 5-0 win over Charter Oak. Those were the big highlights to open the Glendora tournament, which continues today with Bishop Amat playing Diamond Ranch, and 18-4 winner over Dyestart, in the second leg of round-robin tonight at 7 p.m. at Henderson field. Those who have seen a few games, is there any reason to believe we won’t be watching Northview-Bishop Amat II on Saturday in the championship?

After calling on head coaches to input rosters and stats on MaxPreps, I’m happy to say that I see more and more starting to do it (South Hills, San Dimas are you listening). It’s great to see, especially from Northview, who now has a roster up. I won’t get pushy about stats yet, this is a start.
