Workman wants to become the first area team to challenge La Verne Lutheran next season, either in a non-league game, or hopefully in the Southern California shootout at APU if organizers allow it. La Verne Lutheran brings about everyone back, and a couple talented freshman are expected to enroll. This could be Workman’s best team ever, with senior-to-be Bobby Miles-Serrano and junior-to-be Cezar Guerrero, who averaged 28 points a game. Lobos coach Martin Flores said he is contacting Lutheran coaches to try and make this happen. Now if we could just get Glendora, Bonita, Damien and others to step up to Lutheran and Workman, this would be fun next season. As far as I know, Lutheran is still having no success getting into local tournaments. Workman said they’re hopeful of getting in the Covina Christmas tournament or the Arroyo tournament, stay tuned.
