San Dimas outlasts Northview, 9-6

Above: San Dimas' Josh Leyland celebrates after hitting a tying home run on Thursday.
SAINTS TAKE STAGE 1: San Dimas fell behind 4-0, then rallied to score a 9-6 victory over the Vikings in the battle for supremacy in the Valle Vista League. Kevin Ponzo survived a rough start to get the win. Josh Leyland hit a home run to tie the score and Tim Brookes and Aaron Orona had key hits to push the Saints over the top.
San Dimas coach Mike Regan: "For one time this year, my guys fought back. We haven't fought back at all. Today, we showed heart. At the beginning we made errors and we gave away four runs. When people have thrown up leads on us, we haven't fired back."
Northview coach Darren Murphy: "Ponzo did what we didn't. He stopped the bleeding. When you give up a couple of runs, you stop it. If they get to three, it can't go to four and he did a good job of leaving it there. He had that one bad inning but he gave his team a chance to win."

Comments
who cares northview didnt have rj! he probably wouldve flew out like he always does. throw him a curve ball and see what he does with it...wiffs!!! throw anything outside and watch him swing and miss he is not a good player at all. not one player is gonna make a difference. Its a team sports. stop making excuses northview. Take it...you suck!
san dimas and claremont?? come on now thats embarrassing hahaha

Hard to give excuses when you play as bad as we did against san dimas...sucks that we didn't have rj arnold available to play. his spot came up in the order 3 or 4 times with guys in scoring position. Not out of line to say that could've made a difference is it? Good job Saints, we'll see you in a few weeks.

WSU
You're right! We'll see who wins league again this year!
Reagan sucks, and his comments in the paper are just an example of what a loser this guy is!

paez is committed to USD not uCsd... get it right.

No excuses but No Arnold for NV against SD. Bigger key was Nv looked terrible at bat. Both teams played a horrible defensive game, all pitchers looked sloppy but as Murphy said, Ponzo was able to stop the bleeding.

Go vikes,
Victory wouldn't have been any nicer if R.J. was 100%.
Hope he gets healthy soon, I heard 2 weeks.
CYA at game 2!

Did Arnold play yesterday in the SD/NV game? Heard he is injured...
Big weapon to be missing!

Hey WSU: SD beat Northview one time last year and would have won two if the catcher didn't throw the ball out into CF. Great job Regan! Keep marching on Saints!

DB's record this far against the schedule they have played speaks volumes......relax over there and get over the 26-6 thrashing Bonita gave you! Its mid season with league just firing up, and the Brahmas are playing well.......settle down chunthee...

first paez from amat got exposed for what he is, an average pitcher. now has perdroza from northview been exposed as well? they had great seasons last year but it seems that this year against tougher competition they are not what everyone thought they were. i imagine ucsd must not be feeling to good right now after having paez committ to them.

Great job Josh! Maybe you'll get more AB'S this year?
Regan get clue with your winning comments. When was the last time SD beat NV? All the kids have heart everyday and work there A## off.
Go to positivecoaching.org, you may just learn something? Maybe.. LOL

AZTEC PRIDE,
I think the crystal ball Steve & Fred use to get the scores is in the repair shop. In the mean time, get after your coaches and AD's to get after their coaches to report the scores to the local papers.

Diamond Bar?? Diamond Bar??
Not really that good. Randy, what planet are you from?? They just aren't the team you're dreaming about. Sorry dude, they won't be around in the end.

The combined records of the teams DBHS lost to are 18-9.....they weren't playing weaklings.....and they beat down every non-OC opponent to date, Walnut, Glendora, Ayala, Chino and lets not forget Villa Park and Long Beach Wilson.....if your gonna cling to Northviews Div 4 crown from last year, then DB's victory a few weeks ago against a Div ONE monster in Wilson from last year has to score major points....there is some baseball played south of the 10 fwy, and I ain't talking about Nogales, PUH-lEASE!!!!!!!!!!!.....its where the big boys play.....come check it out....inform yourselves.....
