Colleges: Mt. SAC goes for 4-peat

Mt. San Antonio College is seeking a 4-peat at the CCCAA championships this weekend.

Hi all:
I'm in Fresno covering the CCCAA state basketball championships, where the Mt. San Antonio College women's team, coached by Laura Beeman, seeks to score an unprecedented fourth consecutive state title.
I will live blog during both the Mounties game against Fresno City at 7 p.m. at Selland Arena, and Pasadena City's encounter against North No. 1 City College of San Francisco, which is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
Until then, here's my advance on Mt. SAC's quest:
The tournament continues Saturday with the semifinals and the finals on Sunday. I like Mt. SAC and PCC today, although the Lancers have a tough nut to crack in CCSF, which defeated PCC earlier this year. Expect Ventura to take down PCC on Saturday with the Mounties and Ventura in the championship game, which I think is a pick 'em game. Ventura beat Mt. SAC during the tournament season, and in convincing fashion, but Mt. SAC is playing very well right now, and is getting more out of its freshman players than it did earlier in the year.
