Football: Players leaving Duarte?
You know that reliable football source at Duarte has been spot on for us in the past, and now he's got concerning news to report for Falcons fans. Our insider named about six to seven players that have left or are planning to leave for neighboring schools, which he says is the fallout from firing coach Wardell Crutchfield, who has been replaced by Pasadena legend Tip Sanders. A call to the athletic department confirmed that Wardell Crutchfield Jr., and quarterback Demetrius Jackson are no longer in the school. But if what our insider is saying is true, there are other big names looking to move. As we find this out, we'll let you know. I wonder if this is the "new direction" the first-year principal had in mind?

The rich get richer! Via LA Times:
Kelly Hilinski, a 6-5 eighth-grade quarterback-pitcher, has selected Sherman Oaks Notre Dame as his high school choice. He also looked at La Puente Bishop Amat, Mater Dei and Oaks Christian. Yes, high school is starting to resemble college in the competition to pick a school. His size makes him a quarterback to follow.
At first assessment, 'looks like he went to Devry's Del Chonko University, chonker.
Voice of the eagle...what was that?
you made absolutely no sense whatsoever
where "didn't" you go to school ?
Whatever school the kid ends up at, I'm sure he'll do pretty good... Regardless the huskies will be loaded with or without him this coming season... If he does come good for the huskies... If not huskies will still run deep into the playoffs, and have a great shot at taking it all...
Considering what confoundrament-o-fractapolitico-a-DIFFERENTDIRECTIONal phase (wow, did I just come up with the longest word ever in the entire English language?!?!) Duarte has had to go through (and is undergoing now assuming the comments I've read here and in the past months I guess? are legit), and knowing the talent/athleticism that Jordan/Jamie Canada have...a move to South Hills would be not only a logical one but, a smart one I.M.O.
Considering the wonders the Huskies' coaching staff is constantly is reputed of and capable of 'making it happen'/doing...WHY NOT!?!?!?!
If Crutchfield is at BP, they will all be deamed ineligible. You cant follow a coach no matter what...
AZUSA
Who cares it is the weakest league in the valley. That is something to hang your hat on!
Besides your coach sucks last years team was Shoes' he built it, your guy just got to drive it.
honestly jordan canada is probably gonna stay induarte, jamie canada might go somewhere else, but if anywhere jordan will probably end up somewhere like muir
heard that canada was going to san dimas....that was just talk! heard that he was going to south hills that is a 99% chance that will happen
AZUSA, it's all good! Repeating as Montview League Champions is looking (VERY GOOD)!
Fred,
It's sad but if the kids don't want to be there let me go.
The real problem will be when the Coach from Duarte Claims Undue Influence.
There are a few more players that might move schools both of the canada brothers are still at duarte. i dont want to speculate where they might end up, but chances are not duatre.

CRUTCHFIELD AND 3 OF THEM ARE AT B.P.
GO BRAVES !!!!
what about the Canada kid
i know the fact's i told everybody that this was going to happen. i feel bad for the new coach.
hey fred
any of these young men looking to go to a d1 high school. ex. "amat". give me the word!
Kids and parents in an interview? There's your first clue that Duarte is clueless. Talk about your classic lose-lose situation. Either you choose their guy and basically allow kids and parents to have conrtol over the coach, or go with someone else and it disenfranchises them. wow, maybe Duarte needs a new administration too. What a joke.
It isn't just the firing of Wardell Crutchfield that is affecting the student-athlete's decision to stay at Duarte High School.
They administration allowed athletes and a parent to be involved in the interview process then chose a new coach that wasn't their choice.
