SAN DIMAS TOURNAMENT: Glendora's Waldusky injured, Tartans still win, 2-1

| | Comments (35) |

Update: Glendora pitcher Dana Waldusky sat out because of a hamstring injury, but sophomore Carly Argyle stepped in and earned a 2-1 victory by scattering six hits and using good defense behind her. Bonita's Amber Bachman hit a solo bomb to left than she ran out for a homer to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead. But Glendora's Dani Minor drove in a pair of runs in the second innings to seal the deal.

Today's semifinals
Glendora 2, Bonita 1
Northview vs. Etiwanda, 5:15 p.m.
Note: Saturday's championship, 6 p.m.

Prediction: Northview has been a good story to this point, and received a favorable draw compared to others, but Etiwanda is a mighty tall hill to climb, and should be in the finals tomorrow. Glendora and Bonita is a toss-up, but I have to give the edge to the more experienced Tartans. They have championship experience, and usually that makes a difference.

Gypsy might have tried to pitch a couple of games. Put if you really know the facts you would know that she didn't play for months summer of her sophomore year Junior year. So please a couple games does not justify pitching the whole winter.

your wrong gipsy did pitch in winterball of her jr.year. she played for i think it was rage? my daughter played and beat her team. so please get YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!try another one.

what exactly do you want me to ask andy?

bonita fan la player and all others who think otherwise

i stand corrected{somewhat} the bases werent loaded in the 4th like i originally thought.

1st and 2nd innings sd was shut down, the 3rd Patterson struck out all 3.before the 2nd out there was an error on the leftfielder with her dropping the ball.

4th started with a walk, the next batter batter hit into the fielders choice but the runner in front of her was called safe.NOT A HIT!!!next batter hit into another fielders choice with runners advancing the 2nd baseman made the play to get the first out.runners on second and 3rd patterson struck out and got a fly to left to end the inning...NO HITS

5th and 6th sd went down 1,2,3.

7th 2 outs ss makes an error,1 runner is on next one is hit back to the pitcher for 3rd and final out of game!!!

I REPEAT MYSELF NO HITS! ONLY 4 BASE RUNNERS ALL GAME FOR SAN DIMAS NOT SEVERAL AS YOU POSTED BONITA FAN!!! SO NOW I ASK YOU WHAT GAME WERE YOU WATCHING?

Gypsy has actually been hurt since the middle of her sophmore year. So yes she was hurt then as well. She didn't pitch during the winter. So please get your facts straight. If you know the parents as you say you do. Ask Andy, you know Diana's father.

like i said their were no hits!!! what started the inning was a walk, a fielders choice with the runner at second being called safe which clearly she wasnt! thats not a hit and then an error!thats how you get bases loaded! your right the job of the other fielders are to back her up. but if you read the other threads {obviousley you didnt} yould see what i was reffering to, san dimas came out last week saying thier pitching was the best, and both la and bonita proved otherwise!

Whats also funny as you say, is that your making excuses for the pitchers.Im just stating facts! they were hit hard!!!

And last year after gypsy did pitch all winter long and kortnie was pitching for a while LA beat them 4-0. what excuse do you have for that? was gypsy hurt then?

LA player

i truely question the fact that you are an la player. Im wondering if your not someone using the la player name? I know probably more then half the team and thier families! I know they like many others wanted to come out and shut san dimas up! Read what i just said to bonita fan, THERE WERE NO HITS!!! Only errors, fielders choices and 1 walk!!!

If you both still disagree please prove me wrong!!! who got the hits and what inning?

tournament watcher and all you other so called softball fans-
Let me just clarify something with you all. SD is not the best team but they are not the worst. In fact they give a lot of teams a run. Including us, LA. I respect the players from SD, there is good talent there but no coaching. SD does have a lot to talk about because bottom line they are a competive team. If you recall the last two years they have made it further then most teams in SGV except Glendora and Bishop and it doesn't matter what division they are in. Because the more you advance the harder the teams are and better pitching you face. So respect the team and players. I know us girls from LA were nervous for a while... SD you did get hits off of us. Good game girls. See you girls around. Good luck to all the SGV. LA#1

You are obviously talking about the game you dreamt! I'm not denying that LA is the better team. But they didn't hit the ball hard till the 3rd inning and hit 2 hard hits off of Gypsy, which were caught. So what if they hit a couple isn't that the job of the pitcher. If not then why are there other positions?
SD DID have SEVERAL HITS and left runners on several times. Fielders choice, I never knew you could have runners on with no outs on fielders choice... Get your facts straight.
The funnier thing is that Kourtney doesn't even play travel ball and does pretty good. Gypsy hasn't pitched since last year due to a back injury and doesn't even practice. So considering these facts SD pitchers aren't bad at all! Just imagine if they played and practice...

glendora fan, yes someone calling themselves outonlimb predicted bonita would beat glendora 2-1 so who knows if that was a bonita fan or not...

prediction said:

Listen glendora fan,

Consider yourself lucky for receiving a coaches' gift.

What happened? what else Big game coaches' blunder.
lets hope the years only one.How it looked"

1. why wasn't the big kid in the line up? would have crushed this pitcher

2. bunt and run or miss Q blunder eventually bonita will learn you can't bunt and run against good teams.

3. 3-0 miss Q or green light to a slapper in a 1-run ball game hello'ground out

4. having your #3 batter bunt that early omg.

5. giving up a second base steal and allowing the go ahead run to get into scoring position with no attempt to throw her out miss Q or bad decision once again hello' player on third not going anywhere.

6. how many times did bonita need to bunt to figure out it wasn't going to happen.

When you out hit and out pitch your apponent you are supposed to win not loose. we know your big gun was hurt so like i said consider it a gift "its like dodging a bullet" now pipe it down a bit and be humble.

your right, but if you read the last couple threads youll see san dimas was the loudest, thats why i pointed them out.

Appearantly we werent watching the same game, because the game i watched is the game everyone else had seen but you. There were NO hits Patterson pitched a shut out. I watched the whole game let me refresh your memory There was a walk a few fielders choices, and a couple errors, not once was there a hit!NOT ONCE!!! They couldnt score because they werent hitting, end of story. a fielders choice is not a hit! so you tell me what game were you watching?

And as usual Kortnie lost control, which everyone knows its a matter of time but the whole game LA hit the ball hard! how many hits were smacked to the outfield? if they were caught or not? Same goes with Gipsy, sure LA didnt score on her but she to loaded the bases they also hit her hard. The oufield for san dimas was pretty busy that day!

What do you mean they didnt play enough small ball? your #1 hitter struck out at least twice, shes your best slapper and did nothing. the others that tried bunting or slapping didnt get it done, they were either struck out or LA's left side ate them up.Small ball was played just didnt work!

I kept hearing La couldnt cover the bunt after their game vs. Etiwanda, maybe it was 1st game jitters? who knows? but against San Dimas it was a piece of cake, especially with Patterson being the Best fielding pitcher out there!

Once agin there were NO hits!

SD isn't the only one's quiet! What happened to BONITA being number one. Wasn't there a prediction from a Bonita fan that Bonita would win Glendora 2-1 or 3-2. NOT!!!! Glendora#1

WHERE YOU WATCHING THE SAME LA VS SD GAME. SD HAD SEVERAL HITS! UNFORTUNATELY JUST COULDN'T SCORE THEM IN. THERE WAS SEVERAL INNINGS WERE RUNNERS WERE LEFT ON. SD PITCHER kOURTNEY HELD THEM FOR 3 INNINGS AND ALLOWED ALL 5 RUNS IN 4TH INNING. GYPSY CAME IN THE 4TH AND DIDN'T ALLOW ANY RUNS. POOR COACHING, LEAVING KOURTNEY IN TO LONG AND NOT PLAYING ENOUGH SMALL BALL.

TOURNAMENT WATCHER said:

ITS AWEFULLY QUIET IN SAN DIMAS ISNT IT? WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK? YOU SURE HAD ALOT TO SAY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TOURNAMENT. FIRST YOU HAD 2 OF THE BEST TEAMS FACE EACHOTHER IN THE 1ST ROUND,WE ALL KNOW HOW THAT WENT WITH LA LOSING THEY CAME BACK IN THE CONSOLATION CHAMPIONSHIP AND BEAT YOU GUYS 5-0.YOU WERE SHUT OUT WITH NO HITS. WHAT HAPPENED? THEN IN YOUR 1ST GAME AFTER ALL THE SMACK YOU HAD TO SAY BONITA CAME OUT AND BEAT YOU 5-3! SO IM WONDERING WHY SO QUIET? I WAS ABLE TO WATCH MANY OF THE GAMES OUT IN THIS TOURNAMENT, AND I GOTTA SAY FOR EVERYTHING YOU SAY IT SURE WASNT SHOWN ON THE FIELD EVEN IN THE WINS YOU HAD,YOU WERENT IMPRESSIVE AT ALL. MAYBE THAT'LL TEACH YOU ALL TO BE A LITTLE MORE HUMBLE NEXT TIME,AND TO BE A LITTLE MORE FAIR WHEN IT COMES TO SCHEDULING GAMES NEXT YEAR! INSTEAD OF TRYING TO CHEAT YOUR WAY TO THE TOP, LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENS.....

Lady Bearcats. Great game on Saturday. Nice win. Great pitching by Amber Bachman and that solo hit run as well. And a nice hit by Hanna Carter as well. Girls, you've done a nice job. Keep it going.

i just wanted to say that i had the opportunity to take my 2 young daughters out to the San Dimas tourney to watch some of the best softball players around in a game that matched up Los Altos vs. Wilson. It was a priviledge to see the player of he year in Patterson, but what made an impression on my girls was the few minutes she took after the game just to say hi and ask a few questions....it was something that my youngest was thrilled to talk about with others.I just want to say thank you for being someone who my daughters can look up to and strive to be like,my wish is continued success and good luck to the entire Los Altos softball team throughout the season, you are a class act.
