Anything and anyone you want to talk about

Back from blog R&R and wondering what happened this past week that I should know about? You can help your favorite sportswriter by nominating boys and girls athletes of the week and explaining which games desperately need to be covered, but in the meantime, does it get any better for Bonita baseball? Seriously, No. 3 in last week's L.A. Times poll? They might climb to No. 1 if they keep this up. And some of you had the audacity to question our No. 1 ranking. Just follow along folks, we know what we're talking about, um, except when it comes to Bishop Amat and Northview. Don't send the hate mail, you know I'm just Tribbin.

Excessive ping pong celebration or just a nut?

Fred and friends,
Here's a link that highlights the importance of monitoring the the content of public forums like this one. Hope this inspires you to drop your whiney attitude and do your duty.

That's telling them Don! But what's a "LIMP NECK". I've heard of Rest your Neck, but never a limp neck?
Don when the last time you went out and seen a Track & Field event? They're awesome, and there's a big one this Saturday at AZUSA Pacific. Take it easy and watch your blood pressure!

This will probably never be posted but I have to get it off my chest.

One, you whineyazzed snivelers need to realize that monitoring this blog is PART of Robledo's job, as is covering a dozen or more sports for three dozen or so area high schools. Does he do it perfectly? Probably not; but if you think you could do better, apply for the job. (I for one want more coverage of boy's volleyball and badminton.)

Next, naming a kid on the blog for something negative is WRONG. It's cowardly, usually self-serving, and just downright evil. It's too bad the blog operators cannot just ban the bozos who commit these acts so we could get back to the give and take about area sports. Also too bad is we can't see the full email addresses and phone numbers of the limp necks who specialize is this kind of act.

Last, I have to wonder about someone so angered they feel the need to work over FJR multiple times. They're words, if you kid was hurt by them, it's sad, but maybe he ought to be a little thicker skinned. Or stay off the WWW.

FredJ said:

Thanks for your kind words.

FredJay said:

Fred,
Why is it necessary for posters to moan and complain for you to do your job? Is it not your responsibility to monitor this blog?

Where are the rules and procedures of this blog posted? Oh they're not. How are posters to know your rules and procedures?

Check your attitude. Professionalism please.

At Saturday's Pasadena Games, Damien senior Taylor Herrera ran 10.78w in the 100 and 21.81 in the 200, fourth best in the state this year.

At the Distance Meet of Champions at MtSac, Glendora senior Christopher Ramsey pr'd by six seconds to run 1:53.15 in the 800, second fastest in California and sixth best in the nation this year.

I know these performances don't quite rise to the importance of determining who will finish third and gain the final playoff spot in Sierra League baseball or Valle Vista League softball, but it seemed worth a mention.

FredJ said:

Or wow, you can follow procedure and let me know what you're talking about dude, I've been here five minutes. Email me, I don't know where this comment is that you're soooo concerned about.

FredJ said:

Good morning all, JCAZ, thanks for what you sent, it was a welcome surprise when I walked in this morning, much appreciated. Someone earlier mentioned a comment they felt should be taken down?? Send me an email and let me know which thread it's on. Ahh yes, great to be back.

Fred,

Who are you picking between Diamond Bar and Damien on Tuesday?

Interesting said:

Don't compare Charter Oak to ANY teams in the Sierra league. Apples and Oranges.

Diamond Bar is he best team right now in the SGV.

Let me make this clear I don't know how it will all end up but for now DBAR is #1 enuff said.

The post regarding students being expelled is inapproptiate (not to mention factually incorrect). Anonymously posting names on a public forum without facts is irresponsible. Fred's name is the one attached to this blog, therefore he is responsible for its content. Professional responsibility is not too much to ask.

Fred just got this blog going right and here you come in here with your feeling all hurt! Grow up!

Audacity to question Bonita as #1? They won on two passballs , I mean gifts from Charter Oak, who had a freshman pitching. That wasn't a statement performance by Bonita by no means. C. Oak let it slip away.

Welcome back Fred;

Steve did a great job well you were out there playing golf. Steve had some good threads posted, and the blog never skipped a beat!

I'm sure glad the posting is moving a little faster and working much faster!

Well Fred here's my Sunday request and can you keep placing stories on Track & Field. Also the Montview league baseball is heating up to be a good one!!

To my new penpal! COMMON-(NONSENSE), IS THAT ALL YOU GOT!

Bonita is looking good yes, and they are just as talented at the lower levels too. Way to go Jio, Jeff, Nico, Jason and the rest of the gang.

Lower levels are looking good too, but they need to get rid of that football coach who is coaching JV. He runs it like a football team and not a baseball team. Stick to football coach Madrono.

On a lighter note. My next door neighbor who owns that now famous Chihuahua, sent me this very interesting study on the human body. I think he said that this study was done by Harvard universities, department of “B. S. ology” or something like that.

Eight facts about the human body:

1.One human hair can support 3 kg (6.6 lb) of weight.
2.Human thighbones are stronger than concrete.
3.A woman's heart beats faster than a man's.
4.There are about one trillion bacteria on each of your feet.
5.Women blink twice as often as men.
6.Your body uses 300 muscles to balance itself when you are standing still.
7.If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.
8.The average man's penis is three times the length of his thumb.

At this point in the study, men are busy checking their thumbs, while the women (who already knew this) have long left the room.

Hey smarty re-read guy, why don't you re-think. A little google search found this.

Can You Start Sentences with “And” or “But”?

In the past, English teachers used to preach that one should never start a sentence with conjunctions like and or but. Does this rule still apply today?

Not entirely. It is already acceptable to start sentences with such conjunctions. Some authorities, in fact, even defend that for some cases conjunctions will do a better job than more formal constructions.
While it is acceptable to use such conjunctions to start a sentence, you should still use them carefully and efficiently, else your text might become choppy.

Secondly, many people still regard such usage as informal. If you are writing a formal piece or if you are not sure how your audience might react to conjunctions at the beginning of a sentence, you could substitute them with more formal terms.

re-read your posts ,

Re-think about your life, Fred is posting a blog not writing a book or writing a story for the paper so relax.

FredJ said:

And what is your point?

re-read your posts said:

Fred,

Please re-read your work before you post it. You are supposed to be a writer for a fairly large newspaper but it's hard to take you serious when there are at least 3 mistakes in this one paragraph alone. (1) "Does is get any better"??? (2) "And some of you" (starting a sentence with And)??? (3) "expect for when it comes" (instead of except)???
I don't mean to nit pick but...

Correction to the last post, I believe Christopher Soloman ran in the JV race, I don't think they have Frosh soph anymore.

The ping pong player looked like a fool, Welcome back Fred.
WC's BJ. Lee had an electronic time of 10.7 in the 100 at Walnut high school in a duel
meet between the two schools.
I had to leave the meet early, but other runners that I saw win their races
included Christina Borman
in the 100 meter hurdles,
Ricky Johnson in the 110 meter hurdles and Freshman standout Christopher Soloman [spelling?]in the frosh soph 110 meter hurdles. I believe both boy's 400meter relay teams
won also.
