Next Up: On Saturday, the 18th Annual Covina Invitational will take place at Azusa Pacific University. the meet starts at 8 a.m., and the event is at 6:30 pm. Of the 40+ schools attending, local schools competing are: Ayala, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Bassett, Bonita, Charter Oak, Chino, Covina, Damien, Diamond Ranch, El Monte, Gabrielino, Ganesha, Glendora, Maranantha, Monrovia, Mountain View, Northview, Pasadena, Pomona, Rowland, San Dimas, South Hills, St. Lucy's, Temple City, Walnut, West Covina, Western Christian, and Wilson. The meet will also host Silverado and Green Valley HS from Nevada. Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for 12 under.
"This meet provides a great mid season opportunity for athletes to prep for bigger meets ahead like Arcadia and the Mt. Sac Relays. The team competition should also be close on the boys and girls side. It's going to be a fun day of track." Meet Director - Kevin Glaspy

I found a way through Epi Sports to easily come up with the area's top track marks without having to sift through every result. Dyestat as you all know is the track person's everything resource. They have results from every track invitational in the state as well as top marks throughout the weeks. Please let your readers know the following:
1) All SGV top marks list will only be those marks submitted into the EPIsports or dyestatcal database. Do not send updated marks to the tribune or anyone else. Coaches have the ability to submit their weekly marks themselves.
2) Wind legal/aided marks are listed as indicated, as well as the date and site of the accomplishment and athlete information.

This was discussed last week, but the SGV list is drawn solely from the EPI database.
Marks are added to that database from two sources - Invitational meets and coaches reporting dual meet results into the database. All of the invite marks are put into the database, but dual meet marks have to meet some pretty stiff standards to be included. Of the LP marks cited below, only Nguyen's 100m mark meets the standard.

Just wondering why some of La Puente's marks and times are not in SGV valley top marks mind you these are hand times:
100m Jacoby Nguyen 10.41
200m Jacoby Nguyen 22.64

Can someone please tell me where you get dual meet results? They are a rare commodity in the pages of the Trib or anywhere else I can access.

Great Job Los Altos Varsity Boy's Track Team for beating Diamond Ranch high school yesterday...making it the first time Diamond Ranch has lost a league meet since they opened!

Here are the Trib Area athletes with marks in the State Top Ten
21.81 - 4th, 200 - Taylor Herrera, Damien
1:51.15 - 2nd 800 - Christopher Ramsey - Glendora
6'11.5" - 5th, HJ - Sam Rockwood, Diamond Bar
55'8" - 7th, SP - Graham Vickers, Diamond Ranch
14.69 - 8th, 100h - Karynn Dunn, Diamond Ranch
Karynn also had a huge 19'6, 39'9.25" LJ/TJ double at Saturday's Pasadena Games, but there was no wind meter on the runways, so those marks are assumed to be wind aided and are not included in the State lists.
