BASEBALL: Bishop Amat, Northview, Bonita, Glendora, San Dimas, Charter Oak, South Hills ??? There is no true No. 1 is there?

For those wondering, Mater Dei won the championship game of the National Classic, beating El Toro 2-1 at Cal State Fullerton, giving Orange County another reason to believe they play the best baseball in the country. Can’t we get some of these O.C. powers to compete in our local tournaments? Anyways, Northview held its own, going 2-2 and even in the games they lost, they led going into the sixth inning. I have no idea what this should do to our rankings next week. No. 1 Bishop Amat finally lost and had its 12-game win streak snapped. No. 2 Glendora lost to Diamond Bar on Thursday. No. 3 Northview lost twice, but it was in the National Classic. South Hills lost to Chino HIlls, and Damien won two straight nonleague games after losing to Chino Hills a week earlier. Bonita, San Dimas and Charter Oak were all idle. Then there are others making a move like Gladstone, 11-3 after winning its own tournament. It won’t be easy, the parity is closer than ever. Based on what you have seen so far, from the beginning until now, how would you rank these teams? Thank goodness the league races start heating up again next week, I’m tired of these doggone tournaments. Let’s get the kids back in school, and get these rivalries going again.
