Last releaguing cycle it was proposed that Damien move from the Mt San Antonio area into the Parochial area. This then would have left them to be placed in the Serra or Mission Leagues. A parent of a water polo parent, who I believe was an attorney either did or threatened to file suit... thus Damien stayed put. I wish I knew the exact details because I hat partial stories. Maybe My Friend can do some investigative reporting.

At the same time they were rearranging the private school leagues because of the OC Nepotism Act and Amat and Loyola lobbied to remain Division One... both having played at the highest level of competition for years. At that time is when Notre Dame and Crespi had to be moved up... although they (and others) refused to do so initially.

If Damien was in the mix it would probably would have been Amat, Loyola, St Paul, Damien, and St Francis. Not bad geographically, but whether the the Spartans, the Golden Knights and the Slime could compete in the Pac5 would have been in question.

On another note, people know I'm a quote guy and they send me quotes. After reading the exchanges the past couple days, i thought it was an amazing coincidence that these two came across my screen today. The first is a good rule of thumb, I should remember more often:

Amat 73...Gano's been there almost four months. The question you might want to ask is why the SGV on a whole stays locked up in their own back yard year after year.

I know for a fact Salesian used o play Salesian because Damien's record for most foul shots attempted came against the Mustangs....my guess is the game was at Damien.

My question is why Damein parents and the Almighty Booster who hang on the Larson lead teams don't muster up enough pull to at least play someone with as rich as tradition as Damien.

Why not just get Damien to join the Serra. That is actually where they belong and then you could have annual battles with AMAT,ND,Crespi and fill the rest of the schedule with the likes of O Lu,MD and 1 or 2 top local teams .Do you really think Gano would go for a challenge like that.

Joey I told this story once but seems appropriate again.

When I coached at St. Louis of France we were the "dogs" of that league. We had gone through 3 Principals in four years and the school was made up parents that thought ..."well maybe Sports wasn't our thing."

The HC of Boys A team asked me to help out and it was my son's senior year and I said sure. This first thing i told him is "We're going to win a League Championship". He looked and me and said..."well...Frank...we;ll certainly try?"...I told him I wanted to address the team. He said"sure".

Funny thing Joey but the first day of practice is the most important in my mind, that's the way I was taught.

I told them this:(It's always the same)

"We're going to win a League Championship (should have seen their eyes roll and some look down and shake heir heads) make no mistake about that! I don't care what anyone tells you..they are not here! YOU ARE!!! At this school we play 8 to 10 games and them lick our wounds and pack it in and everybody says great job!...that's the past. We're going to play 22 games.at least 14 before League starts...when we hit league we're going to kick the tar out of every team that ever laughed at us! Some of you will quit along the way...maybe game 10 or game 16 when the wins pile up....not the team mind you but "on" your team, in little ways that only coaches see. Every player decides when he's had enough...this is the truth and I've seen it many times. That's okay...I just need 3 players that will never quit...just three!!! and leaders that will lead by example! I don't need promises or raised hands...you know who you are. The first day will be rough, the last day will be rougher but I can tell you this...you will always be the best conditioned team and hardest working team out there and if anyone beats us...they earned it. But I will figure them out and we'll beat them the second time! I'm going to tell you all something....."Someone's going to give up the panties and ...IT WON'T BE US!!" Kids were cheering and some were probably think..."pnaties??? who wears PANTIES???"

I finished and made them run a lap....the HC leans in and tells me ...."Sh*T Frank...I'm so fired up!!! Dude "I" want to play and hit some body!!!!!

Anyway word got out we were pertty good and undefeated in League and Holy Name of Mary was pretty good and both of us were undefeated, we were like 17-0 and they were whatever...so we played. They were big, fast , talented and well coached by a seasoned veteran guy. During the game we suffered a questionable call down the stretch and they took the lead with a lttle less than 3 minutes to go. My team seemed confused and discouraged and I called a TO to talk to the team.

As we walked out to meet the players I told the HC..."I got this one" I looked them in the face and said. "Don;t you dare look at the sidelines for a play! Don;t you give up now! They can cheat all they want. WE HAVE THE BALL! Run to the Right on every play..don't even get in a huddle! Run the ball on every play to the RIGHT!! until you get in the endzone! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!!!!!"....SOMEONE IS GIVING UP THE PANTIES AND IT AIN;T GOING TO BE US!!!

Total silence. They ran that ball 5.6.7.8 times I lost count but we did get in the endzone and did win our matchup of undefeated teams....running the ball right down their throats! Pretty special!

Best feeling in the world seeing those kids jumping up and down and seeing the Holy Namers stunned..and their "stacked' team beaten fair and square!

Only one player from that SLF team went on to play football in high school. Michael Mancilla, a 8th grade transfer who made every possible. What a great kid from an outstanding family. He became a Lancer Football player..and that's pretty cool too.

Joey, i know what some will say...elementary school? But that's where kids learn how to compete, learn to listen, learn about failure, learn how to bond, learn that sometimes "you're just not good enougn". Telling a kid that Goliath will fall today is an awesome experience, telling them "how" is a rush but nothing beats seeing a team come together and stand a Goliath down AND WALK AWAY VICTORIOUS!!! Bishop Amat is the only team in the San Gabriel Valley that does that on a weekly basis....even though sometimes they are Goliath! LOL

My point to Damien last year was ...they were going to be David IN EVERY GAME !!!! and never quite understood that...and that's why COACHING MATTERS!!!! next year should be crazy!!! Gano hosts you guys right??? Amat 73...finally!!!!!LOL

You know, My Friend, I didn't think I "slapped you around" too bad when you were supporting the Spartans (when not manner where-if I can remind others) ... it was just a simple reality check. but if you remember, I also said that the positive spin better be what the coaches are selling in the locker room. If it wasn't because of your ego why would you come on here with bragging of the offers of help to people or your wasn't I right about all the trashing I did at Damien of the program with an air of glee in your writting. Years ago a Damien Dad went to practice and repeated the same story over and over and over again. I sat looking at practice and laughed politely every time he told the story as parents came to sit. I remember his words exactly..."poetic justice"...he thought it was funny as heck. Over and over he told the story regarding Mendruns Miracle TD.. When a firestrom hit he swore up and down he didn't say it....he knew different but what was the point? Everyone who heard him tell the story knew he was a liar.

Funny but everything I said about that JV team came true...to the tee. HE HAD A VERY GOOD SENIOR YEAR AND HIS DAD GOT TO SEE HIS SON FINALLY GET ON THE FIELD. He played ay Citrus Collge these past couple of years and did. hey he's still huge, fast and coachable. I like the kid...reminds me of my son Zach...al they needed was a chance. Ask JL what an idiot, coward or disgrace I am. Ask his dad MR LUITEN or his GRANDMA what kind of disgrace I am to them...or how many times I called to say their son did well. Didn't cost him a dime.

Your son could have had the same opportunities but "you" chose another route. If you think I'm holier than thou or an arrogant whatever or a me complex or whatever randy you should have remembered my generousity and the open manner in which I offered my friends and family to help your son....and looked the other way. There were plenty of DDs or drive by artists that were "teaching me a lesson" for you to do the same.

Just responding to randy's comments and no it doesn't come at an odd time. I read the blog but comment little anymore and after reading most of these entries looks like frank is contining to tick people off. Some things never change

About 3-4 weeks ago i wrote to Fred, and asked him to give you my email if you asked for it.....so ask him for it....and i haven't taken these anonymous shots that you "think" i have....i have certainly repeated a few of them to you on my posts, but you have some folks out there who like pissing you off more than i do.....now, your in the archives from 3 years ago??? WTF? i was sick of the Amat arrogance that just spewed from Arams old blog....and Blue Orca thought he was King Sh*t with his higher than thou takes, sometimes frank, you come off that way too.....write to Fred, i gave him the info, in fact, i'll re-send it to him....later!

you know randy you sat next to me at our kids football game and asked my advice with your kid. say what you want now but you know it's true....i told you nothing but positive things about your son and i told you call me if you ever wanted my brother... not me!... to would work with YOUR son and I'd call in a favor. my brother was the defensive coordinator at compton college at the time and is now at LB Poly so i think he's qualified...and you seemed like a happy camper. he does the centurions as well so helping out is what he does! done it many times when i've called him. i also told your son could work out with the same trainer that helped travis eschardise increase his foot speed. i told you it would be FREE because you were part of the "Salesian" family....well sort of. we talked about our kids and i left thinking you were a pretty cool dad. i also left knowing you didn't know much yourself or else why would you ask me so many questions about technique, systems, your team and your coaches? i never once told you anything except your son worked hard and at least he's on the field so there's that. plus your team did not lack size so maybe their senior year they'd be better. Isn't that true? and actually THAT team was the best in years THIS YEAR!!!! so I guess i was wrong again huh?

over the years you've taken the time to snipe at me and then denied it in spite of meeting me. YET when the time comes, as you have shown recently, you have a pretty well stocked laundry list of issues with me. so which is it?

ok im going to come out right now, i am a DR senior. and i find it very pathtic reading about grown parnets crying about their sons/daughters schools and sports programs, the schools dont get the bad raps because of the students, they get them because of stupid and iggnorant parents talking smack and cursing, for gods sake grow up.

You show me a school that has close to 3500, at a 65% Asian population clip, that consistently competes for championships in those three 3 sports. SINCE DB OPENED IN '82, WE HAVE WON MORE CIF CHAMPIONSHIPS THAN DAMIEN, GLENDORA, AND CHINO HILLS COMBINE!!!!!!!!!!!!....stick that feather in where the sun dont shine.....now we may not win another one soon (certainly not grouped in with I.E. for post season play).....BUT AT LEAST WE HAD A HELLUVA RUN......your all talk from your side, and in the end, those three mentioned teams get smoked in by the 2nd round cuz they are in over their heads too.....

For 7 straight years Ayala, Chino, and DB represented the Sierra League in the Finals of D2...then they opened Diamond Ranch, and Chino HIlls (both of whom have done NOTHING as a team, with todays "me--not we players)...and Ayala, Chino and DB have been done in.....the Bulldogs under Inglima, a former DB coach have done an excellent job rebounding these past two years...Chino still kicks ass in baseball, and we still make the playoffs in baseball and basketball.....but the CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL that those three schools earned and dominated in are over at this level.....i dont pretend to know why, LIKE YOU DO, but for the Brahmas we should be playing down we just dont have the base to draw from with the combop of the town make up changing, and DR opening......our preseason record is .500 over the past five years, against less than Sierra league type competition....it is what it is....kinda like Damien not having the ballz to stay in a Catholic school league, because they are afraid of the truth, they will get their hearts EATEN out alive, by the likes of teams like Salesian......You know it, and we know it....

One last note to you and your DR friends, the Asians like DB because its nice place to live and raise your children...they are migrating east along the Puente hills...i have lived out this way for 30 years, and have seen it myself as they fan across Hacienda Hts, Rowland Hts, Walnut and now DB....before you know they will be popping up all over the north side of DB, and will thin out DR's athletic base too.....kid yourself all you want...Temple City probably said the same thing 35 years ago....DR is running out of time...they need middle classed mexican and white kids, to mix in with their pomona ghetto crowd to make a run....they will be losing that middle classed kid soon enough....but it'll raise the API scores!!! youre and idiot. you really are. you think DB quit? No, they used what they had in the damien game. The backup qb threw 5 picks!! On 7 pass plays!! they had to rely on the run. If you didnt remember, damien was up 14-0 in the first half only due to big plays. And even the dumbest coach (which you probably had) can tell that a team is gonna run the ball more when the pass game is that awful. So Damien blitzed more often, causing the OL to get confused on the blocking schemes, which then led to the run game getting shut down. Honestly, if the said player hadnt gotten himself suspended THE DAY BEFORE THE GAME, DB woulda beat the hell outta you guys. Plain and simple.

Frank, your calling our kids quiters? you are truly sounding like a d*ck.... you have no idea what they went through internally this year, so don't pretend to have some inside scoop....they came out like warriors after a terribly emotional WC game, against Glendora on the road. They were tied with GHS at half 21 all. GHS led by 6 and the end of the 3rd qtr., and then it was a shootout in the 4th, qtr, they scored 20, we scored 13.....they never quit! I cant believe your such a pompass little butthole.

Going into the Damien game, they were 4-4, and knew they had to win out the last 2 games to possibly make the playoffs. The afternoon before the biggest game our of this senior classes career, this guy goes and gets himself suspended for some foolish act, and is ruled out for both games. 80 percent of the offense is centered around him and his ability to run or throw.....we wind up throwing 5 picks with our back ups who did everything they could.....losing to Damien on the last reg season home game. Their lone TD came late in the 4th qtr, stopping a shutout....but you say they quit?....who are you anyways frank? you probably had a real good seat on our side of the stadium cuz your own people, true Damien fans, cant stand you.....

Then in final game against Chino Hills they came out in the second half down 27-0 with nothing to play for but pride, and scored 28 second half points on the road against Chino Hills....explain that d@ckhead! Its called heart, they displayed it from head to toe....

WE played Long Beach Banning, Poly and Wilson in preseason games. Played Blair and Pasadena when they were all speed and pissed vinegar and won our share! We fought to earn the right to fight!

I saw our basketball; team play against a 7 ft center from Crespi with a 5'8" monster name Satchmo who dipped and dooed his way for 4 quarters and saw two 6'9" forwards from Verbum Dei who went to USC named Marchetti and Williams on full rides get eaten up by a 6'1" center who lit them up for 44 pts in a 66-64 victory AT THEIR HOUSE!!!!. We've played against future NFL players and almost every former OC powerhouse team you can name...Servite, St. Anthony's Mater Dei and yes even Bishop Amat...when Bishop Amat was a monster...if whitey is right the score was 12-6! Amat..and that must have been a FIFHT!!!! We played against Mater Dei every year I was in high school because Rollinson was an alumni...and he ran his JV team thru suicides until he was satisfied they understood they should have won!!!! They lost by 2! He ran then 12 suicides because that's what he thought Salesian should have won by! That's commitment. Not one parent complained. Yes Rollinson was a Basketball coach at Saleisan as well.

Diamond Bar was spoiled with talent, coaching and endless resources as this part of the SGV was just exploding...and the "talent" came from everywhere...and I mean everywhere! What happened to DB was what happens to so many spoiled children...they don't know how to handle adversity seeing as everything came early and easy.

Too bad Salesian didn't schedule DB when my brother was there. They did put it to a couple of SGV schools and still only graduated 70 seniors! People wonder why DB is the way it is I'll tell you...lack of discipline and commitment. Sacrifice my friend is a constant companion of a Champion.

I saw DB against GHS and thought this team is hungry and talented and on to something...and than they quit. I saw them against Damien, who had quit themselves, and they laid down like rugs at a swap meet!.

I know there is a service that does the imaginary matchups...any one know who it is? Put in Salesian and DB and see what comes up.

The year Salesian won league they had a kid named Taz that wasn't even 5 ft and weight like 179 or something...mean little bolling ball running back...and he was a load...Size matters when you look at your size. Condition, Prepare, Condition, Execute, Condition, Rep Out, Condition, Study, Condition, Honor, Condition, Never Quit...Prepare to Fight and then you will.

Maybe Salesian new Coach Roddy Hiatt will give DB a call and see what's what! Salesian doesn't talk trash as Baldwin Park will tell you but we do compete...shake hands and find out who's who and what's what.

I'm pretty much over this madness, but not quite yet. It is funny to see the DR/DB sh*t that flies around here. My boy is moving right along,thanks for asking, and I hope he does follow me. Their kids are moving past high school too. Thankfully, this Hatfield and McCoy thing is winding down here. I live in Whittier now, and my other kids will go to La Serna most likely. However, I do find it odd that DR has this "hard on" for getting the "big game" on with DB. The Panthers have more depth, and more talent, and more kids to pull from period. DBHS may have 3500 kids...but over 2200 are Asian, and they don't ball, for the most part. So be it. The Ranch has been around for what, 12 years now? They haven't run the table like DBHS did in those same first 12 years In that same amount of time DBHS had established itself as a monster AND a CIF CHAMPION in damn near EVERY sport. Has DR duplicated any of that success? Hell no. Maybe in Girls track.... but thats about it. The Ranch clan wants blood, and they may get it, but they aint gonna get those CIF Banners with such signature wins against the likes of DBHS. They cant seem to get over the CO choke hold, moving in this new league for them is a joke. They shoulda gone in to the Sierra replacing DBHS. But i think the Ranch Nation will take the easiest route they can to nail down a championship at this point. They are tired of coming up short. They expected to be a dynasty, and they obviously fell way off the mark on that one. Through it all i couldn't be more proud of my son, or his purple and gold teammates who have gone through some tough years! They did everything they could with what they had, and mad us damn proud! If anyone is insecure, its these Ranch parents shooting their mouths off thinkin one win over DB will somehow make up for the 12 years that they have been telling everybody that DRANCH is the the Sh*t!!!! Ok so apparently things have been said on this blog that are really dumb and immature. DR kids are not all bad. DB kids are not all nerdy or un-athletic. Its wrong to stereotype kids based on schools reputations. But for the DR folks that seriously think that DR gets a bad rap only because DB is 'threatened' by your success, grow up and get a life. DB gets pounded on by Glendora, Ayala, and would get beat by SHills, but you dont see them placing a bad reputation on those schools do you? Like i said, not all DR kids are bad. Not all DB kids are good. But the fact is when some kids at BOTH schools get together, things happen. Doesnt happen when DB plays Walnut, Brea, or anyone else. Nothing happens. Things only go down when DB/DR meet. Now as a parent, principal, coach, etc, do you want to put your kids in that situation? BOTH schools need to learn how to act civilized with eachother.

DB isnt scared to play anyone. Stop talking about 'fear'. You make your team sound like they won the Super Bowl or something. DB played CO and got beat by them BAD. they beat you guys TWICE. Why would we be more scared to play you over CO? or Locke? or Long Beach Jordan? or Temescal Canyon? or Anyone? DB wants comepetition in preseason because it prepares them for the tough sierra league. at least when they were in the sierra. No boubt, DR is gonna be tough for DB. Not gonna dance around that. Its just the two schools need to learn to act properly around eachother.

The biggest concern between DRanch and DBar should be the recruiting tactics allowed to happen within Diamond Bar. DBHS makes their stadium available for the DB Pop Warner group and is being out recruited in their own stadium. A certain HS coach goes to those games in his HS football attire and actively talks about how strong his program is and occassionally leaves his school's attire behind for the prospective player to take home for the "future". He also actively participates in recruiting discussions while at BBQ's at player's homes and outlines out of district transfer guidelines just in case these players want to go to the other school. Unfortunately this has been going on for a few years now and no one bothers to follow up or question these tactics. It is also unfortunate that DBHS administration and athletic staff would allow this to happen in their own backyard. Shame on DBHS for not being more attentive to these tactics and participating more with these feeder programs. Being outcoached is one thing, but being outrecruited in your own backyard is a shame. Bring on the games!!

You must be an idiot. You come on here and accuse me of popping off. Yet you don't even read the approved releaguing proposal that has two yes thats right two 7 team leagues. The Miramonte and Mt. Baldy. So if I am popping off then I would like to ask you what planet or alternate universe to you inhabit? Is CIF popping off? Are the principals that voted for this popping off? No pal you are the only one popping off.

The sports program is about kids, not about parents. Many of you out there create ugly situations. On both side of Grand Ave, you are perpetuating a sterotype on both schools that is unwarranted and deterimental to the students. You are stirring the pot. Let it go and be excited for the students. The students on both side of Diamond Bar are excited because they can finally play each other. It will bring a new sense of rivalry and pride to the area. I look forward to this new league and the oppurtunity to see these kids compete against one another. Lets grow up and act like responsible people. Believe me, you don't need to do much to get students-athletes from DBHS and DRHS excited to compete against each other.

Frank, i havent posted on here in awhile....seems like this thread got the blood flowing again, but to answer your question, no i am not "dbhs".....kool?.....

First of all, for all of those "uninitiated", the service academies require a "nomination" by a congressman or a senator from their home state and after receiving a "nomination" then their "nominations" are accepted by the respective service academy. They become "Cadets" and are trained to be "Officers" in the their respective branch of service.

Following a successful "graduation" they are then "commissioned" into the respected branch of service they have chosen.

None of this process is easy and each individual went through a much more difficult "academic and physical" testing process than in any college or university in this or any other country.

The students, parents, and schools should be very proud of these young people!!!

They will go through more physical and mental testing than from the 1st day that they arrive to the last day that they leave or graduate and that is what is done to make them leaders of our country's military!!

The only advantage that they will have over other "Cadets" is that they will be eating at the "trainer's tables" which means that they will eat all they want and it will be "regulated" by the training staff. They will learn to eat while at attention, "square their meals" and be tested mentally throughout.

This is no USC, UCLA cake walk and these young people will be going through the most difficult period they have ever experienced!!

My hat is off to them because they have been chosen to not only participate in a sport but to have the opportunity to become the future leaders of this great nation.

All of this ranting and raving between DR & DB is childish, petty, immaturity that these students will leave far behind in their new lives!!

Thank God and Country for young people like these that have been chosen to represent our neighborhoods and our country!!!

I encourage you to spend some time with Coach Roddy Layton. He is one of the finest men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I was fortunate and honored to have spent some time on the Diamond Bar sidelines. These young men that Coach Layton has mentored are exceptional young men. I have been around a lot of athletes over the years and it was a tremendous awakening that I witnessed this season in the team, the assistant coaches and the Diamond Ranch community. I also had the pleasure of meeting some school administrators and boosters and i will tell you Diamond Ranch has it's act together.

When I spoke to Roddy I always mentioned how Damien would be a great fit for him. He's charismatic, energetic and incredibly driven, plus people gravitate to a man with passion and love for kids. Once again I encourage you to sit with the man and listen to the way he sees his role. Players at Diamond Ranch know who is in charge and they understand why 2.5 is not 2.0, they understand why rules are rules and why every kid needs to be heard and helped. That's why players come back and stand on teh sidelines...not to show off but out of respect for DR and Roddy.

One thing that struck me about Diamond Ranch was the total and inclusive sense of their diversity. People at Diamond Ranch support each other and share in the dream of a better future thru hard work and dedication. It's no accident that Vickers and Lengyl earned their commissions anymore than it's a suprise that Semons chose UCLA "because he wanted to go to a school where his degree would matter if he got hurt the first day of practice", or Williams is going to Colgate...these are quality kids. Spirlin, Bonilla and others are incredible individuals who deserve more respect than to be torn down by some loudmouth with imaginary demons in his head. This team was special and numbers and records don't do this team justice, but then how would you know you're so filled with hate and envy.

No one is "rubbing on DR's leg" or "hiding from my Damien Dads" I go where I chose and DR was an incredible experience. Today ironically Damien held their last home track meet against Diamond Bar and the turnout of DB parents was pathetic! Their was no Purple Haze..more like purple specks. Damien/St. Lucy's dominated and as usual students from both schools knew each other and shared laughs between events...there is no hate at that age. You should remember that!

DB had a great run a long time ago. Hopefully you enjoyed that run in whatever manner you could muster...but today is another day and a new and incredible force is on the horizon and you "dbhs" or whomever or whatever are looking like a child who's balloon has flown away......

I will encourage you once again, and hopefully it doesn't affect my friendship with Roddy, to spend some time at Diamond Ranch and see the wonderful things they are accomplishing. You never truely know a man unless you talk to them face to face...and "dbhs" I think I've already talked to you.

i honestly dont know who dropped Diamond Bar whether it was Leach or Layton. I dont care really. The main thing is that we got dropped late in the year. Thats about it. You werent scared of us, you just dropped us late.
This could be a lose-lose situation for Diamond Bar. You guys dont have a good rep. We dont want you here at a football game. And i didnt place that rep on you, you and your actions placed it on you. So lets talk about playing. Thats why were on here right? I think that DB had a better quarterback and better tailbacks, and a better coach. But everything else will go to DR. For now.

As a parent who looked into both schools I can tell you both DR and DB are solid academic institutions but DB does rate higher. Second, the sports at both schools are good depending on which sports your child is interested in. Tennis DB, Football DR. When it comes to sending an athlete to a college on an athletic scholarship DR has an advantage. School diversity DR. Higher SAT scores DB. Each has bragging rights and neither is a horrible school. What a parent must decide is which school is best for their child. If my son was into music and a school band he would go to DB. If my son is into sports he is going to DR. At both schools the students are going get a challenge and prepared for college.
My son will attend DR because he is a football player. I have heard coach Layton speak and believes he has the football program going in the right direction. I have looked at both schools closely and have made my decision with total confidence. Layton emphasizedacademics and athletics. He is sending players to college and that is what I want for my son. This is not a slam to DB it is just my perception. My daughter is into soccer and dance so when she becomes of high school age I will decide at that time.
Also, I think we should leave names off the Blog. To have a players businees put out for all to read in not appropriate. None of us know the situation behind this person or his family. Leave the names of children off the Blog.

Diamond Bar is ranked 87th, Diamond Ranch is ranked 446th.
As for Staten, he simply failed his classes. Ask anybody. Transfer students are not going to receive any slack if they fail classes. And no california public school makes it so that you need a 2.5 to play sports. You need a 2.0 only.
And just to prove you again that DB is better academically (still dont know why you keep coming back), when was the last time you heard a DB player being academically ineligible? DB had only one each of the last two seasons, none of which were varsity.

Again, i stand to my point that the brahmas will be able to play with anyone in the new San Antonio/Miramonte League soon enough, it will take time for people around the school to realize that big things are happening, and come out for sports.

Purple Haze and DBHS you both live in fantasy worlds. First of all the schedule for Diamond Ranch in 2006 was set by Tom Leach. Leach was an assisitant at Edison prior to coming to Diamond Ranch, so it was not Layton who dropped Diamond Bar. Secondly, that schedule was set midseason of the 2005 season when DR had a Semi-Final run. Oaks Chrisitian was set at the same time. Servite had already been put in place from previous years. Ayala had always been on the schedule. Chino Hills was added early on because of his known success at Diamond Bar. The whole schedule was put together prior to this alleged Diamond Bar match up. So how could have their been a drop on Layton or DR's part? Each year DR haters from Diamond Bar have ducked DR and has tried everything they can to put DR in a bad light. The reason is simple. For years Diamond Bar was successful in sports and academics. Players flocked to the school from the northside so they would not have to attend Ganesha. Diamond Ranch was built and suddenly you lost all that talent. The "basketball game" you were talking about who won? DR. Most of the times we match up who wins? Diamond Bar has ducked DR football because they know if the two teams play DR would win and they could no longer boast. So the best thing to do was talk about playing and slander DR and make excuses why not to play. Now the votes have made it where you have to play and you are upset? Two schools close geographically and share the same youth development programs not playing is sad. Now you must play and it will be great for all. Both schools will win. That is what is special about rival games.

Please get your facts straight. Grades this, Academics that, is false information and pure speculation until facts are posted. So until then, keep assuming based on your enrollment of a majority asian population. I need to see links with this information.

Also, so that you know, Staten was kicked out of DB. He lives in that area. So when a child is kicked out, do we just give up on them?? NO!! Just so that you know, Amari pulled his GPA up to a 2.35 just last year and this year they took a dip again in which he was penalized for the whole post season while we were in the playoffs. Mind you, he was a starter. So please know that you are required a 2.5 GPA min to particpate in Athletics period, at DR.

3200 compared to 1875 is a huge factor. Just seems that kids @ DB would much rather be in the 200 man band and 30 man badminton team. The truth is, parents want their kids to suceed and follow their dreams. If that means sending my kid to Db bc he or she is a damn good trumpet-ista, or to DR bc he or she is has a damn good 18 footer, that should not make them hoodlums and un-classy!! Bottom line this is what DBHS people believe. You guys have been around for years, and now the new guy comes along and he is a threat. Typical trait of people who FEAR defeat. Originally, Diamond Ranch was supposed to play Diamond Bar but in April 2006 Roddy Layton dropped us for Edison. This is the truth. No one is scared to play eachother, but the DB athletic admin is still bitter because we had to find two filler games (Locke, Long Beach Jordan) late in the year because Layton couldnt stay true to his word.
and just to shut up all the DR people who say grades are just as good at DR as DB, Amari Staten tried out for the DB football team in spring or 2007, but he had STRAIT F'S. he transfered back to DR and is playing for them now.

Purple Haze FYI in 2006 Diamond Ranch Preseason was Edison ( Division 1 CIF Champs), Chino Hills, Servite, Ayala, and Oaks Chrisitan (CIF and State Champs). Two teams from your league and three of the best teams in the Southern California.

We do have the same kids in football but DR will continue to dominate in football as long as Layton is at the Ranch. He continues to push his program in an upward motion and makes sure they (and himself) receive a lot of attention. He hires quality coaches and uses his resources at the college and NFL level. He understands what parents and players want and he delivers. He is a motivational speaker and entertaining to listen to. He is attaracting players from the local area and as long he is the head coach we will continue to lose players to DR.

I am happy that Lengyl and Vickers going to Navy and Air Force academies, especially when they could play somwhere else. Nothing should be taken away from the boys.
The main fact i have is that as of now is that Diamond Bar is better academically, and as of now Diamond Ranch is better athletically. except badminton. We will murder you in badminton.
As for the rep that DR has, you brought it upon yourselves. No one gets a rep randomly. You have to do or say certain things to get/maintain a reputation, good or bad.

as for any fights, i honestly dont know about the basketball game. I do know that a trucks back window got smashed. I dont know who's truck it was or who did it, but it happened. Why else would sheriffs be called? The only reason the DB fans came down was because the DR fans came down and stomped on the brahma logo in center court. It wasnt like a college team that won a HOME GAME. You guys came down, and stomped on the logo of an opposing HOME team. Way to show some class.
And as for academics, DBHS does have a higher amount of academic competition than DRHS. Thats why parents from Rowland, Walnut, WC, Chino Hills, NORTH DIAMOND BAR and other towns send their kids to DBHS. Its the academic competition and our exceptional IB program. Im just stating facts.
But this is a football blog, not an academic blog. So I think in a few years DB will compete with DR. As many have said, theyre the same people right?

To DBHS I was at that basketball game and both sides were filled with great emotion. DR students did rush the court after an exciting game (like you see many times in college) and were on the floor for about 15 seconds. Yes maybe emotions got the best of them, but that is friendly rivalry. Do you recall that same game when fans on DBHS side booed a player? It was your floor annoucer (much respect) who told the fans "We are classier than that." It was the students booing. I laughed that night because as soon as I walked out of the gym the sheriffs were already there saying we must leave immediately. Think about it.... I mean really think.... was there any fights? Almost fights? Not even close. The kids love the game and enjoy playing with each other when they were younger and against each other now that they are in high school. Fights at Knotts? It takes two to fight. And WAY WAY better academics? Check the state board and you will see it is not that far off. Get over yourself. Two good schools with each having a reason to brag. Stop trying to bash.

How does a school such as Diamond Ranch with a great academic record be viewed by SOME DB Parents and one Walnut person as a low performing school? DR is in their second consecutive term of being recognized as a California Diastinguished School. It is Nationally rated in the US News and World Report and has students attending universitites around the nation. The population is much more diverse than both of the Walnut Unified schools and we take pride in our cultural diversity. Several movies have been filmed on campus and the architectural design received several honors. The schools dance and performong arts team was recognized as the best in the LA County and there are numerous clubs on campus. We are on top of the Hill that not only has a great panaramic view, but also creates a safe environment. How does this translate to a low performing schools with students with 1.5 gpa's and criminal records? Because we have had recent success in sports we have suddenly become a thug school? Are you serious? My child played Diamond Bar Pop Warner, Diamond Bar-Walnut Youth League Basketball and Diamond Bar Little League. I am good friends with people on both sides and it is a shame that are a few try to speak for many. You don't like DR because of ...??? that is fine, but to try to use slander and make an excellent school sound like a ghetto school is absurd.

as a fan, I would like to see at least one of the two teams stay in common senses proposed San Ant/Mira league, preferably S.Hills because of the natural rivalry with WC, but having D-Ranch in our league would be fun too.

Diamond Bar has 3200 students, and trust me, please trust me, the academics is FAR FAR greater than Diamond Ranch, just handle that fact.
And as for the size of the school, it doesnt matter. Diamond Ranch could bring 200/1900 to play football (rough estimate). Diamond bar only brings out 100/3200 (rough estimate). We just dont get the athletes. Instead, people focus more on grades rather than play sports. Honestly, i think the students at DB could play ball with the students at DR, its just whoever comes to play. DB had 6 or 7 guys playing both ways this year. So dont base the competition on the size of a school.
And no, DB should NOT shut down the football program. Too much history in this place for it to go away.

Diamond Bar used to go to knotts berry farm on the first day of school, since 1982. Diamond Ranch started going too. For 4 consecutive years, db/dr students would get kicked out of the pard due to fights with one and ohter.
WE ARE NOT SCARED OF DIAMOND RANCH, BRING EM ON. we are just tired of the fights, the stupid acts, etc that happens when the two schools get together.

I dont see why a school with 4300 pupils enrolled compared to 1875 @ DR, are in such an uproar. That factor alone confuses me. All of this talk about we are convicts, its a prison, we live in pomona, etc., shows that RACISM is still alive in well in DB. And it seems you relay that idea over the Blogs. It sucks that you guys are not man or woman enough to say how you truly feel. Oh, I fogot, you dont want DB to look bad, right? Anytime you relate such harsh and slandering terms and or comments to a school, its done to cast a black cloud over those kids who live in that area. So what some of our kids live in Pomona, Phillips Ranch, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills. SO WHAT! Is it the fact that they are diverse in their in environment (referencing Latino, African American, Caucasian, Asian decent children) or do you really feel like our kids are that horrible?

Just because you guys are Cops, DEA agents, Sherrifs, that doesnt make you people better than people who live in pomona. Ask the average person in any city how they feel about Cops! I dont care if we lived in BHILLS or Watts I dislike the idea of people making it seem like we are a bunch of imbeciles.

Whats funny is that I coached at DB Pop Warner for 3 years. Of the 3 years, we collectively as a group of coaches took this team to the championships, losing the first year and winning the this past year for the 1st time in 23 years. I took pride in that accomplishment. My son happened to have been the starting tailback both years who happens to be Black. Even him being just 11, 12 and 13 years of age, saw the evident racism in that city.

You people need to grow up and focus on what really matters, being an AMERICAN. I can only imagine how you feel about our President!!

I actually like the last proposal by Common Sense, I just thought that if a 7-team league gets the same number of playoffs spots as an 8-team league, why not have two 7-team leagues?

The last time any of the San Antonio/Miramonte league teams were in the title game was WC in 2004, and they won their championship game. They could have been there in 06 if not for injuries & other problems, Rowland & WC were in the semi finals last season. My point is that this league is plenty enough competitive for D-Ranch.
D Ranch lost most of their studs to graduation so unless they got some stud transfers in we just don't know how competitive they will be next season, I'm sure they'll put out a good team, I just don't see it as good as this past seasons team, Bonita, WC, Rowland
should all be good games vs D.Ranch, If Los Altos & D-Bar could ever get close to what they use to be, this league could be very tough.

I do see that you moved SH out of the Sierra, why not keep them there to have two 7-team leagues? I know this is nik-picking but just wondering... I think that two out of SH, D-Ranch or Claremont should be in the Sierra and one should be in the San Mira but really any combo would work for me, and If you get the same number of teams in the playoffs I'd preffer to have two 7-team leagues.

To the Diamond Bar HS parent who keeps referring to Diamond Ranch as a bad school you should look at your pictures from Pop Warner and Little League. Our children all played together. When I look at my childrens teams I see children who attend DR, DB, Amat,and Damien. When did just the North of Grand players just suddenly act wild. Most of our children get along really well and look forward to the games. Each school has certain sports that will be their strengths. DR Football Program is on the rise and DB baseball continiues to be solid. All of the children are from Diamond Bar and suddenly you throw us in the prison system? The academics at all four schools are solid. I went to our City Celebration and had a chance to talk to Coach Layton for a good amount of time. I asked about the academic differences of the four schools and he was like an almanac of information about DR. I have spent the time to research his facts and they were consistent of what he says. DB has an API of 858 and DR 808. Amat is private. DB offers 19, DR 18 and Amat 15 AP courses. DB is a 7 out of 10 to similar schools and DR is a 10 out of 10 to similar schools. Amat is private. Both DB and DR have over a 99% graduation rate. All three schools have a high number of students going to college. The real difference between the two schools sports program is a small margin. Football at DR has a huge advantage with Coach Layton. He is visual at all Diamond Bar events and believes deeply in his program. Basketball is a toss up. Both have solid coaching and players and should be quite even. Baseball DB might have a slight advantage in player depth because they have a deveolpment travel baseball program. DR does not. Advantage baseball. Aagin, not much difference between the two schools and WE ARE FROM THE SAME CITY with similar type children. Look at the photos.

The real issue and problem in this whole thing is the Chaffey School District. Their superintendent wants to keep four schools from the district in 2 separate leagues. As a result of this the school that really is misplaced is Colony HS. They are only 5 miles away from Etiwanda. They play most of the Baseline schools in pre-season, they have won 2 CIF tiles in Football and at least one in basketball. They dominate their league (top 3 in almost every sport - boys and girls) They should be moved to the Baseline. Makes way more sense for them to drive 5 miles up the 15 then it does for Glendora to take palyofftype road trips every week. Plus 4 schools from that district will now have to make the same trip as Glendora going west.

If there are any principals or ADs out there and you need an appeal here is what I think would be the best most equitable releaguing of them all. However, this would make way too much sense for the CIF morons to ever agree to it.

I am not a D-Ranch fan, so maybe I should not be the one responding to you. Having said that, I do agree that they have no CIF titles but can you honestly say that they would not be competetive if moved to the Sierra? afterall this is about being most competetive, right? so to me the move into the Sierra would be good. They were in the CIF title games for Football and Baseball were they not? When was the last time any of the new San Miromonte league teams were in a CIF title game in the big 3 sports? Again, this is just my opinion.

So what about the move of Glendora and Chino Hills???

Hey, I hope you're right and there is DBar comes back. If it is ever going to happen the athletic director needs to sit his coaches down and get the bullsh*t cleared out. Coaches can not be talking returning varsity lettermen football players about not playing football their senior year. Pomona Ranch keeps crowing about their program, but the asian wave will eventually hit them like it has Rowland, Wilson, Walnut and DBar....DBar coaches need to treat the school like it's a small school and encourage atheletes to play everything. Yes our enrollment is big, but name ten asian Div 1 or pro football players...

I actually would like to see a resurgence at Diamond bar, you guy's had some great teams in the late 90's, with Jason Wright & his brother[Spelling?], as a fan, its more fun when we can get up for an opponent that we know will be a tough game. WC & D-Bar had some pretty exciting games in the early 2000's.

true, Diamond Bar got beat this year but it was 35-25 and honestly we got some bs calls from the officials. It should never be 4th and 55 TWICE in a game.
But yes, i agree that DB will have to come out hard against WC in the future but its not like WC will get blowout wins. Honestly DB should get a resurgence within the next few years.

thats why you should not got to diamond ranch. youll be a senior or even an alumni making academic mistakes that a 2nd grader wouldnt. The school looks like a prison, so it will prep you for when you probably end up getting convicted. Thats where most alumni end up going.

i dont think that db will be a losing team once the re-leaging happens, they can handle walnut, wc, and los altos. do you think martin would ever lose to rowland either?
DB will make the playoffs in this league. Also, Fred Robledo will finally give some respect to this once prestigious program.

Congratulations to all the teams that had releaguing go their way and my condolences to the ones who didn't.

I for one am looking forward to CO in the Sierra league although CO has been playing these teams in a varity of sports already for the past few years.

With all this change we should be seeing a lot of coaches scrambling to sign non-league game contracts. That opens up a lot of possibilities for some great preleague games.

I love DBar. I think they should do like the local Division 1 colleges (Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State) and just drop football. Coaches are now pressurring multi-sport atheletes not to play football because there is no furture in it. So what! It's high school! Martin is getting undermined everywhere and doesn't even know it. I guess it's just the era we live in but I hate coaches pressuring kids to make a choice. The days of the guy with 9 varsity letters is long gone.
DBar will be no more competitive in this league than the were in th Sierra League, football wise. Pomona ranch will beat us and crow about how they're the best shool in Diamond Bar (uh, you're in Pomona). Luckily we get to play them in baseball, and no matter how bad our baseball coach is, we will beat Pomona Ranch.

division, it won't be as bad as I first thought for S,Hills, & Charter Oak, but it will still be much harder for them to get by teams like Rancho C, Los Osos, Chino Hills & Upland, compared to what they faced in the Southeast division, I was first thinking they would be in
the inland division with teams like Cenntennial, Chapparal, Norco, REV, & so on, which would have been a nightmare, but at least
in the Central they might compete once in a while, but I don't see a title for Big Lou or
Bogan in the near future.

Dan, that's a great point. Until this year Damien beat the tar out of Charter Oak, physically for sure. Crushed them a few times from what I remember. Yes CO was physical THIS year but the Sierra League is more than just FOOTBALL???? Now add Charter Oak and South Hills to the teams that destroyed Damien in the past playoffs and well CO and SH have no chance in the playoffs. I saw SH and CO last year more than once and who did the Sierra League teams lose to in the playoffs? Damien has been crushed in every playoff game but one in the past six years. That El Dorado team that ruled that division gets beat by Morrison's led Spartans hands down. Never been a Morrison fan but he could beat up on weak sisters better than most! Just ask Claremont and Diamond Bar!

Now as far as basketball...does Charter Oak have a good basketball program? I've never heard of them making any noise. How about South Hills? Both those schools are what Div 6 traditionally? Now they are going to be playing basketball and soccer at Div 2 levels? I don't think so. The playoffs for CO and SH just got scary. Let's wait and see how many transfers come in to those schools now that they've moved up 3/4 divisions in competiton. With so many IE foreclosures maybe the SGV with get some more speed.

By the way Damien just won Nationals in Debate!!!! Pretty amazing seeing as they never recruit, take whoever walks in the door and beat a bucket full of some of the most exclusive schools in the nation...read BLUE BLOOD RICH!!

So how about some suggestions to help the Principals out. Clearly creativity isn't part of their skill set. Can't use my newly coined League name, MiraSan . . . sounds too much like the name of a laundry detergent from a Puerto Nuevo discount store.

Thats a good point, right now the Sierra is in the Central division, so unless CIF decides to drop the Sierra into the Southeast division, it will be a harsh reality in the playoffs for the new teams in the Sierra league. The Sierra league posters who in the past would try to stress the difference of caliber between the Central and the SGV divisions will most likely be vindicated as Charter Oak & South Hills get a taste of D2 caliber playoffs, I can see a lot of I told you so's coming their way.

On top of the new Mira Tonio (or whatever we wanna call it) league being well balanced and competetive, it is also like a mini ivy league of the SGV. Those schools have some pretty good academic programs as far as I know. Walnut and Diamond Bar are at least one of the top schools in the entire country I think.

Well Randy all that talk is finally going to stop and things will be settled on teh field...for better or worst!

Glendora might believe they got screwed ...and they did...but what do you expect. They have a basketball coach who doesn't hand out an MVP award. A football coach who does it with home grown players and plays out of the SGV and by all accounts Glendora has one of the finest group of coaches of the field. That's what happens when you play by the rules and just compete with what you got...you get screwed in the end!

Wow I would have loved to see how Le duc and Principal Bruce handled being handed over to the IE! What a joke that is....if ANYTHING.....Chino Hills belongs in the IE.

I feel bad for Glendora, they would be a natural fit for the Sierra and Chino Hills would have fit well in the Baseline. The games between Glendora, Charter Oak , Damien, & South Hills each year would have been great.
I'm also sad to see the South Hill's vs West Co. rivalry break up, being located on the same street and with so many of the players knowing each other it was a natural rivalry, especially
since these two teams were looking to be so close in caliber to each other for the next few seasons.
I like the competitive level of the new Miramonte/San Antonio league, there should be some great match ups in this new league, D.Ranch is up & coming and is a decent replacement competitive wise for South Hills, it will be fun to watch them go against West Co, I also like Bonita in there too, they are well coached and year in & year out seem play above their level. Rowland had some good lower level teams these past couple of years, so we'll see how that translates at the varsity level, I'm hopeing Los Altos has too much tradition to stay down where their at, if they ever get back to their old form that would enhance this league that much more. I agree with whoever brought up the great potential matchups between West Co, D Ranch, Rowland, & Bonita.
I'm glad for Nogales, maybe they can win some games at this level and in turn attract more of their kids into their program.

People have such short memmory. Glendora was baseline for 20+ years before the 6 year stint in the Sierra. Yes i think the 909 has some big dogs. But Pasqy, LeDuc, Henley, they can handle it. The Glendora-Claremont games can be big again. The last couple years Upland has been good for Glendora. The enrollement issue kind of screws um, but thats life.

Damien, Chino Hills....Wow they are going to rock everyone's world. Ayala will still win wreslting, but Football, Baseball, Basketball. Big 3, the other guys don't stand a chance.

I dont love it, but none of us had a vote, SOOO get used to it and lets predict some good matchups.

Remember, these leagues do not start until the 2010-2011 season so nothing changes for next year. There will also be CIF division realignments for the 2010-2011 season so there are no guarantees the divisions these leagues are in now will be the same when this new alignment kicks in.

Also, the final league name will not be Miramonte/ San Antonio, that is just a working title as they are moving things around, they will pick either one or a new name when the league actually forms. Remember, there is still an appeal process to be had before this is finalized.

I don't think there are any changes in the Divisions: Baseline, Mt. Baldy, and Sierra are Central (V), Miramonte-San Antonio is still Southeast (VII), Montview and Valle Vista are in Mid-Valley (XI)

And BTW, I kinda like the MiraSan League's new setup. It's the name I find brutal.

I might be mistaken, but isn't the Sierra league in the Inland Division? ANd wouldn't that place South Hills and Charter Oak in the Central Division (D5) and out of the Southeast (D7) where Diamond Ranch will stay?

I think you can make an arguement that every league with the exception of the sun belt(montview) and the WAC(valle vista) is going be a real hard fought battle. Most of the leagues are a 7 team league. Now that you really don't need to finish in the top 4 I wonder how that is going to shake up the playoff race.

The releaguing is based on competetive equity and enrollment more than geography. I would have to say that in terms of competetive equity, they almost nailed it on the head.

The Sierra League is extremely competetive, but Claremont is obviously the poor sister there. But what do you expect, they received relief from the #1 league to the #2 league. That makes sense to me.

Charter Oak should be in the Sierra. Come on, when you are in consideration for a state championship, you need to move up. The Miramonte was simply not cutting it for them anymore. I will say the same thing for South Hills. They have consistently dominated the San Antonio despite their upset loss to West Covina.

And as far as Don's comment about the new Miramonte/San Antonio league being brutal, yes it is. But it is the #3 league in this area behind Baseline and Sierra. I would be willing to bet that half of those schools are glad they are not in the Sierra League. I think the Miramonte/Sierra is the most balanced league with Diamond Ranch being at the top (but not way at the top) and Los Altos and Walnut being towards the bottom (but not way at the bottom). Remember folks, Los Altos does have a ton of tradition.

I'm not sure why GHS asked for relief - we've been in contention for league titles in most of our sports this year.

But this alignment makes no geographical/conceptual sense. Glendora is in the SGV, not the 909, and we're going to be on the bus a lot.

Moreover, GHS will be (using track divisions, which are enrollment based) the only DII school in a solidly DI league, and Chino Hills will be the only DI school left in the Sierra League.

A more sensible alignment would be to swap Chino Hills and Glendora. And if leaving Ayala isolated would be a problem, move them to the Mt. Baldy league where they could be the big dog, and move Diamond Ranch into the Sierra.

That final alignment would be geographically compact and competitive.

The Principals get a C for the project as some of the work clearly needs more attention to detail.

I guess the Valle Vista and the Montview look as good as possible but couldn't you have traded Duarte for a school to be named later to a League on the other side of the 605 ? I also see mucho hand wringing for years to come in the Mt. Baldy among the haves and have nots.

And who did Glendora piss off? Kelly forget the snacks from The Donut Man? Hard to see them in the Baseline; the Damien-St. Lucy's crew would have been a better match, spreading the travel costs, etc.. Other than that, the new Sierra League is OK. What's not OK is that Miramonte/San Antonio League name. Brutal.

Unlike Fred, I'm OK with leaving D Ranch behind, especially if they are playing D Bar every year. C O and South Hills should have moved up long ago, the Panthers are just getting started.

Just some random thoughts here:

Claremont and Diamond Ranch should be switched, but consider this guys: Diamond Ranch does have great athletes and have raised the bar the last few years, but they are not exactly hanging up CIF banners on a consistent basis.

Charter Oak and South Hills deserve where to be where they are and Glendora probably should have been in the Sierra even though they asked for relief. They are not hurting nearly as bad as Claremont. Switch Glendora and Damien.

I do like the mixing and matching of the San Antonio and Miramonte leagues. I can see some great games going on there. Diamond Ranch, West Covina, Rowland and Bonita have the potential to have some really great battles with one another. And to top it off DR and DB have the natural rivalry.

San Dimas and Northview should move up. They consistently dominate the Valle Vista in most major sports.

Ganesha is looking forward to the Montview. Those schools are similar in size and demographics so we should have a more even playing field. In my opinion the leagues look pretty good, but I've seen better proposals from bloggers that principals simply wouldn't go for.

Why does DRanch keep getting thrown in with the mid range teams? We should be bumped up not down. How does that make us better? League play with Nogales, DB, and Los Altos doesn't jive with the non-league schedule we have never backed down from! Who is calling the shots? Who has lost their nerve? We should have gone up into the Sierra League. This is a set back. Plain and simple.

How about moving Glendora AND D-Ranh to the Sierra league, and then moving Claremont to the Miramonte???

I was very concerned with the re-leaguing scenarios prior to the meeting last night. Even though Glendora got shipped off to the Baseline, which I think did not make sense, the other leagues look good and competitive. I am surprised it came out as good as it did.
If I was a Glendora fan I would not be happy but they are in a competitive league and except for the travel east the competition will be solid.
I did not like the original Miramonte/San Antonio league lineup but the end result will be interesting and competitive for all of the local talent.
This should make the "pop warner/jaa" recruiting even more interesting with all of the schools located so close.
