Baseball: San Dimas 11, Baldwin Park 1

| | Comments (11) |

San Dimas just keeps on rolling: San Dimas High School left little doubt who is the top team in the Valle Vista League at the moment, scoring an 11-1 victory over Baldwin Park in a league encounter that was called in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule.
Matt Thrall had two hits and two RBIs, Thomas Jenson had two hits and an RBI and Kevin Ponzo was steady on the hill, giving up six hits and striking out eight to lead the Saints. San Dimas, which beat Northview last week, improved to 8-2 overall and 4-0 in league play. Baldwin Park slipped to 6-3 and 3-2.
San Dimas coach Mike Regan: "When our lower half of the order gets involved like it did today, it gets pretty good because our top four guys have been hitting the ball well. Our guys have been playing pretty well. I'm really pleased."
Baldwin Park coach Jake Barendregt: "It's frustrating. You'll play good against certain teams and when you face those teams that you are at the same level with, or just a little bit above you, you kind of aren't ready for that yet. These kids are close, but haven't been in this position to compete for first place for a few years now. But I think they will be a little more successful in these games, or at least a little competitive and not a blowout."

Real Fan,

If i know them, Hop or that "other deadbeat" are probably at the deja vu or the racetrack enjoying life! So quit hating....I didnt see them at the game yesterday to even comment, so just work on your team and what they need to do better and let us worry about what our former coaches from "last decade" are doing...lol

Hey Ranch Fans, win a league game before you come on here popping off would ya? 0-4 to date,wow---mighty impressive for all the crap talking i have heard first hand for the last 6 years....but NOTHING to show for it...go figure

The Sierra League will be no cake walk for anyone....it is the toughest league in Baseball from top to bottom, and the Brahmas are still in good shape, no 26-6 thrashing here bro!!!!!!!!!!

Hey "reality", don't be so upset with coach Leyva. I'm sure if you ask him real nice he might give you an autograph. Gross too if you're super nice. Why do people love to nitpick every little thing when it comes to baseball? Because we've all done it right? We've all coached at some point? Our kids are all-stars right. Weak blogging about who's taking up the Damien line-up card. Say that out loud to yourself one time...BLOGGING about WHO'S TAKING UP DAMIEN'S LINE-UP CARD. WHat a joke you are...It's probably just Hop or that other deadbeat hating on the school that doesn't want them anymore.

Make no mistake, Chino is legit. No doubt. And PS- 60% of Damien's wins are by 9 or more runs...Very impressive. Anyone can spin numbers...Haven't you been peying attention genius? The Sierra League is gonna be a dogfight this year. As far as I can tell, nobody's going undefeated so we'll take our 3-2 at this point and keep on playing. How's that?

Nice job Leyva. Way to "big league" the Chino coach today by sending your asst to the homeplate with the lineup card. That did NOT go unnoticed. BTW the Chino coach Sheehan has forgot more about baseball then you'll ever know. Then your team goes out and gets pounded again. 40% of Damiens league games have been blowout losses. (2 of 5) Not a good sign. And you take away Whitehouse and where are you? Wait and see when his arm burns out second half. Not impressed with Spartans. And where was your pitching coach? Hunting? lol nice program
