Baseball: South Hills beats WesCo ....... Wilson shocks Bonita

Above: South Hills Derek Klena delivered a win for South Hills on Friday.

Klena keeps South Hills in first: Derek Klena scattered five hits and struck out eight as South Hills took control of the San Antonio League race with a 3-0 victory at rival West Covina on Friday. The Huskies, also getting RBI singles by Dakota Behr and Tommy Rodriguez and two hits from Cody Doyle, improved to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in league play. They remained one game ahead of second-place Nogales. West Covina, getting a six-hit, five-strikeout performance from Daniel Clark, slipped to 6-6 and 1-3.
Wilson beats Bonita: Steven Baltierra tossed a three-hitter and Kevin Niebla hit a home run as the Wildcats stunned the No. 1 Bearcats, 4-3, at home. Nico Calderaro struck out eight for Bonita, which falls to 8-2 and 3-1. Also the battle for third-place appears to be Wilson vs. Los Altos as the Conquerors routed Diamond Ranch, 11-1. I don't think the Panthers are going back to the divisional finals. In fact, just making the playoffs may now be a stretch.

Listen everybody the Lefty from Wilson Steven Baltierra pitched a excellent game against bonita he is just a sophomore and will probably play some Division 1 college ball but just wait Bonita has to many weapons and stars to drop down we will probably win CIF!!!!

wow rio ruiz at COVINA now coulds that be the work of one of the players dad who rio played for at hollenbeck hmm maybe? but covina couldnt beat northview if there life depended on it? i thought hynes was supposed to be the next tyler pill now that he cant find the strike zone or block a ball with the wonderfull teaching from his dad they have to go get Mr. ruiz? man northview would still kick there a**? they threw kevin jones at covina now what does that say about covina....and do you think rio would really leave amat with the decent team they will have next yr? covina's varsity team vs northviews jv team would be a better game than what i heard about last tuesdays game? COVINA'S A JOKE!!!

northview is on its why down next year when rio comes to covina there going all the way

Can Someoene PLEEZE tell the ROWLAND "coaching staff" to get a CLUE !!!...

Wesco..!

Beat is a big word that is used when a team dominates there opponent.Huskies just got by on friday and there jv got there !!sses handed to them.Still looks like huskie days are over...!!

Denny Crane,

Why the football post?
Because as I write this there are already 46 post in just one day on the football thread, baseball doesn't get that many responses in one day even when its baseball season!
I like baseball too but there's nothing wrong with a football thread no matter what time of year it is.

amat who-so who in the valley could get a job in the "big time"?or an even better question is-who else has ever been there?and the truth is amats league is tougher than the valle vista league-which is really down this year.

Amat simply plays in a very weak league.

Get over it, 1/4 pint is a punk and a guy who couldn't get a job in the big time... We won't get into the ticket or jerseys situation at SC, but its a huge issue.

Nobody touched him or wanted to touch him again as a asst or water boy in NCAA.

FRED.why all the football.get with it its baseball season....also how about getting the baseball standing and schedules.on the main page.so if we want scores we don't have to read all the trash....

Wow - how much will Bonita fall down the chart losing to a team like Wilson?? Nv gets knocked down 2 spots for losing to a tough SD team. Amat barely squeks by in their last two games. interesting stuff going on..

Walnut bats came a live today. Walnut beat Rowland something like 15 to 3. The winning pitcher was Jason Kerr. The same pitcher that beat Nogales.
If coach Holf is going to have a winning season. He needes to pitch Fangen and Garcia. For some reason he has not pitch these two yet. Maybe holding for the 2nd half of season.

Wally -Nieto didn't write the articles- did he? You can't blame him for what gets written. But I called this kind of performance a month ago.

Work the count for a walk. Steal second. Sacrifice bunt to third. Score on a Sac Fly. Paez throws a shutout. 1-0 Lancers.

That'd work for me !:?)

Should be interesting.

....or something like that?

Bonita My Friends,
You walked the tightrope too long and you're bound to fall off as you did today vs. Wilson. You walked it vs. Charter Oak, Walnut, and now Wilson...Maybe Freddy will see that you're coming back to the pack. Amat barely beating La Salle...jeez, that's one to be proud of. Can the last two Amat articles be more about Andy Nieto and his great calls on squeezing and for bringing out the old jerseys. By what I read, I'd think he still pitches, hits, and fields the ball for his team. Give it a rest 1/4 Pint.

Okay Montviview League Fans, for those who don't know AZUSA & La Puente split the serious. This should be another close one to the end. AZUSA has gladstone next, and this should be a good series! Sierra Vista is also no pushover.

I got to say this, AZUSA & La Puente have had a quiet rivalry through the years!

KEEP PLAYING CONTINUOUS GOOD BALL AZUSA!

los altos 11
diamond ranch 1

Bonita lost to Wilson 4-3

Fred,
Glad you are getting the mvl some coverage. See you there.
