Blog Reset

| | Comments (27) |

As you can tell, the blog has a new look with some new features. First, you can still comment anonymously or choose to register with a sign-in name in the event we go to registration full-time. Other than that, everything is normal and it is much quicker. At the very bottom, where is says select a newspaper, you can immediately look at other websites in our newsgroup. There is also a share this marker to your right, which allows you to share threads with anyone. The color will go back to grey and green in the coming days, but as you can tell, there hasn't been much of a change. I would encourage regular bloggers to sign-in to keep your famous screen names, and down the road, I can make you trusted commenters so that you will always be able to comment freely in the event we go back to approving comments before releasing them because of careless bloggers. You get it, if I trust you, you won't have a problem. If I don't, you may have to wait for your comment to be approved. Until we reach that point, you all get the benefit of the doubt and can comment freely.

yeah, it's going to take a while to get used to where everything is. I liked the "comments" link at the bottom of the post instead of just under the title. Now you read the post and have to scroll make to the top to get to comments. Oh well - I guess we'll figure it out.

Joe Amat,

Thanks for the tip about clicking on his "mug" to go back to main.

Don,

You're right, the contrast on the borders is what's missing, but Joe's suggestion might be the answear, making the links stand out in Bonita Green

Don said:

The grey is a bit easier on the eyes but the text in the borders needs more contrast. Pictures seem to have more "pop" in the new format.

BTW, tried to register and the system told me there is already a "Don" set up in the system. Must be someone from Sierra Vista or the Ranch.

Thanks Joe, they fixed it. How do you all like the grey. BTW, those with the scissors next to their name are registered with us, thanks for doing so.

I like the grey better than white. Although Green an Grey? ... kinda feel like I'm at a South Hills baseball game. Should I accuse you of being a SH homer? How about Blue and Gold? Just kidding.

Like Basic said, maybe the links in the margins can be red like the links on the comments so they show up better.

and Basic, another option is to click on Fred's pic on the banner at the top and that will always take you back to the "Main Page"

Hey Fred, the reason there is a broken link on your name is it is
http://www.insidesocal.com.tribpreps
instead of
http://www.insidesocal.com/tribpreps
Change that . to a / and you're all good.

I must say the Gray is nice... easier on the eyes for sure. However, it is more difficult to find the links on the left and right, is there anything that can be done on that end? so they are easier to find? and we can all see "Main" and switch back and forth? Yes nic picking but hey just throwing it out there.

Great job overall

the grey is up, i think this is much better, how about you?????

Personally, I think the Grey background brings out the pictures better. Maybe we need a more subtle white, I don't know.

The white has it's ups and downs, but what if you mixed in some color? leave the story and comenting white but place left and right side (links) stuff in a different color, maybe the green with gray? Just my thoughts

Northview looses to Norco & Diamond Ranch beats Nogales with Melchor on the hill....wow!

Agree white too bright, but is clean and quick. Anything more on re-leaguing? Inland and Chino area teams create most easy solutions. Prefer: A:Glendora, Charter Oak, Bonita, Damien, South Hills, West Covina.
B: Los Altos, Wilson, Walnut, Rowland, Nogales, Diamond Bar.
C: Covina, Northview, Baldwin Park, San Dimas, La Puente.
D: Bassett, Sierra Vista, Gladstone, Workman, Azusa, Duarte.
E: Garey, Ganesha, Pomona, Montclair, Chino, Ontario.
F: Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, Etiwanda, Los Osos, Colony, Don Lugo.
G: Mountain View, South El Monte, El Monte, Arroyo, Rosemead.

Which leaves Diamond Ranch, Chino Hills, Claremont, and Chaffey orphans to be placed. Two too powerful to be balanced fits in any of these alignments and two of unknown potential to fit these mixes.

I don't mind the white, but the grey looked better. This isn't a sharp as the old look but it could be worse. Keep up the great work Fred.

Looks great. I enjoy the white background. Less strain on my aging eyes.

Great Job Fredo.

FredJ said:

I can't stand the white background, I enjoyed the grey, which our tech guy will work on tomorrow or sometime this week. Other than that, I'm getting use to the new features and as I learn more, I will share them. But hey, it's quicker and I like it, not a drastic change. But get your sign-in names so you will always have them.
