Girls Softball rankings: Glendora holds on to No. 1, but Los Altos is making a strong argument

Girls Softball top ten rankings
1. Glendora (14-2) - Out of respect for winning the San Dimas and Charter Oak tournaments, and for beating every area team that's challenged them, the Tartans remain on top despite Los Altos' big result over the weekend. It wasn't just the win over San Dimas, it was how easily they did it.
2. Los Altos (12-5) - Oh my goodness, this is what I'm talking about, quality wins. I almost jumped the Conq's to No. 1 simply because when you defeat powerful Mater Dei, 4-3, that's making a statement. The Monarchs were the No. 4 team in Division I, and they beat their No. 1 pitcher Matthews in the process on Saturday in the Santiago tournament. Forget the 14-5 loss to Bishop Amat afterward, Patterson was sick and didn't pitch. The swagger is back.
3. Bonita (16-3-1) - After easy wins over Diamond Ranch and Wilson, the Bearcats have one more tune-up against Charter Oak before hosting Los Altos on Thursday in the most anticipated softball game of the year. I'll hold my prediction until then.
4. San Dimas (15-4) - It is clear the Saints are not ready for the top three but still a strong number four. I wonder what an 8-0 loss to Glendora will do to their confidence? They had a chance to prove they belonged with the area's heavyweights, but played like it was their first game of the season.
5. Bishop Amat (12-11) - They defeat Los Altos without Diana-Lynn Patterson, which isn't the same as beating Los Altos but still a nice result. The big win came in a 2-1 win over St. Paul.
6. South El Monte (12-6) - Reina Gaber is tough as nails, in the circle, at the plate, she can do it all. But South El Monte still loses games that make you go hommm, like that one to Ontario Christian
7. Sierra Vista (13-3) - How impressive is it that the Dons have compiled this record without standout pitcher Brittney Flores in the circle most of the season. This is a dangerous Div. V team is she's healthy.
8. Walnut (12-6) - I know they lead the San Antonio, which is an improving league, but not there yet. What's disturbing is a 2-0 loss to Diamond Bar, which shows outside of league, San Antonio teams still struggle.
9. South Hills (10-7-1) - The Huskies were idle last week, but overall record is encouraging.
10. Northview (9-7) - Not the same dominating Vikes, but a big win over rival Covina basically ties them for second with the Colts behind San Dimas. And since the Vikes won the recent head-to-head with the Colts, they land at No. 10.

With all the complaining and crying going on over at Bonita you would think someone would figure out the community itself is just a bit spoiled and set in there ways.At some point somebody needs to step up and take control of the situation a coach should never have to come on to a blog and discuss anything about the program, its players or his decisions in general.

Anyways this is what makes travel ball so lucrative its a way to play competitive ball and your able to negotiate before you join a team. Now obliviously when your a newbie you have to become a better player to get the most out of the negotiations. You pay to play and if things don't work out you find a new team that suits your needs. But with high school its a bit more complicated with limited teams and space the only way your going to play is to consistently prove your worth. If still your not satisfied with either a supporting roll on varsity or JV
the only thing to do is live with it learn to compete or transfer out but complaining, putting down coaches and bad mouthing other players is not the answer.

Who do you blame for this blog? all the haters seem to all find someone to blame but in all reality almost every parent at BHS has put down another player while complaining about how they got their, batting avg, defense and blah blah blah. Its the coaches job to pick his team and play who he wants. What the coach should do to stop the crying and the spread of hate is simply cut who he feels are the bad apples and the rest will fall in line for fear of the same outcome its only when you allow disarray that this kind of thing happens. You take charge and set examples if you give an inch they take a yard so take back your team and shut the parents out there only responsibility is to be a fan if they get out of hand at a game like some do you send them on there way no ifs or buts about it.Where the administration has failed at BHS is allowing to much parent participation in the first place they need to handle the fields, the score keeping and all the other things that need to be done on a daily bases. This way everything is on the up and up.So get it together Bonita before it gets even worse and if you think it can't your in for a rude awakening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE on the San Gabriel Valley Senior Softball All Star Game:

The date has been moved to Wed, June 3rd at Mt. Sac. Thanks to Sac coach Kelly Ford for hosting this event and being flexible to move the date due to the pending graduations. The only problem now is if any valley teams make the CIF finals their seniors won't be able to play. Sorry. I am trying to accomodate as many schools and seniors as possible.

Valley coaches need to email me their nominations as soon as possible as the teams are being put together. The north is being coached by St. Lucy's coach Pam Crampton and the south will be headed by Kendra Navarro of El Monte. Each coach has been asked to find a few assistants that are also head coaches. I have about 7 schools from each area with nominations . I am still missing quite a few big names. Final teams will be announced sometime around May 22nd so I need head coaches to get moving. Please email nominations to sfisch@cvusd.k12.ca.us. This would be a good time to use this blog as a positive thing instaed of continued bashing of head coaches and players. Please help spread the word. Fred, let's talk this week and get something out in print.

South Hills wins 4-2 and had to bring in what should be the atarting pitcher to save the inexperience on the mound from an almost ugly situation. Can't the coach figure out who his starting 9 is at this stage of the season?

It is what it is said:

Walnut is having a tough week with losses to West Covina on Tuesday and South Hills on Wednesday. They did a great job of getting ahead of the pack early on, but keeping the lead may prove a little more challenging than initially thought. The San Antonio leaguers seem to be getting their footing and should make the final bend of the season a bit more interesting. Good luck to all... looking forward to another thrilling, sitt'n on the edge of my seat game in Walnut today.

Fred,
Your killing me bro ''''''''''good thing for you is it will all work itself out in the next few days no doubt your top three are right in any order no argument it doesn't really matter.FYI the big showdown almost didn't happen BHS dodged a bullet today and beat CO 6-4 in extra innings they were trailing the whole game and had to come from behind and show that they could, great job bearcats on a sloppy but inspiring win.So Freddy boy Start scalping the tickets the big game is on''''''''''''''no excuses as of yet but #1LAFan there's still time for you to think of one, bring it baby, the mustard is off the hot dog and its time to rock and roll baby.GET READY TO RUMBLE POUND FOR POUND THE LOS ALTOS CONQUERORS VS. THE BONITA BEARCATS IN THE BEAUTIFUL CITY OF LAVERNE BUT HEY YOU MIGHT HEY LA YOU MIGHT HAVE TO DRAG,WATER AND CHALK YOURSELF BEFORE THE GAME YOU KNOW THE WHOLE TITLE IX THING LOL..............

What was so shocking about losing to Diamond Bar.? The real problem Diamond Bar has is "Youth" ,especially hitting. The errors have steadily improved. This team is another yr or two from being where they are known to be. The do have a freshman pitcher Julie Walters who will be promising!

FredJ said:

That's an impossible scenario since both will win league titles. I would still take San Dimas though.

Fred,
If San Dimas and Sierra Vista were matched up in the 1st round of CIF, who would you pick?
