Hmm, Bonita goes 0-1-1 against South Hills?

This has to be the most shocking result of the weekend. Unless the scores are wrong on MaxPreps, unranked South Hills softball beat the Tribune's No. 2 Bonita 4-1, then in the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday, it was called after the teams tied 6-6 after seven innings. This confirms what some have told me about South Hills being one of the better hitting teams in the area with not just good bats, but young bats. Maybe I'll have to check out the South Hills-Los Altos game on Wednesday. As for Bonita, this has to hurt their No. 4 ranking in Division III.

Comments

At Bonita, it seems that half the parents of the girl's softball team are unhappy about:
the coach
the stats
the person who keeps the stats
the number of pitchers
the fields
the field's location
the maintenance (or lack thereof) the fields
the way the girls are “treated” (I don't know what this means, but it seems to be problem)
the AD
the amount of playing time somebody else's kid gets
the amount of playing time their kid doesn't get
the over-participation of the parents of underclassmen (underclass persons?)
the under-utilization of the parents of the upperclassmen
the restaurant that's booked for the post season banquet
the level of each other's travel teams

The other half, it seems, is evenly split between those who are happy, those who don't care, and those who didn't know their DD's were even ON the softball team. This, all on squad which at 14-3-1 has won more games than anyone else in the area. Can you imagine how cross these mommies and daddies would be if they were 3-14?

Now there seems to be a move afoot to hammer the BHS District for real and perceived injustices, (just loved the letter to the District, way to be concise). Quick, call Gloria Allred, she hasn't been on TV since the octomom fired her.

How different the world of women's high school sports is than that of the boys, huh?

This has to be the most hilarious prep soap opera since the nacho mama took on Hoyd over at Wilson. Keep it up Bonita softball parents, you guys are great fun.

Fred,

thanks for the tip this will definitely help the case.

A few years back when I was at the Star-News, Alhambra had built this great baseball complex for its baseball team, and nothing was done for softball. This became a huge Title IX issue that ended up in court with the softball field getting its facility. Read this story that I found
http://title-ix.blogspot.com/2008/05/alhambra-high-school-softball-team.html

yeah that is exactly why they do it.bonita softball has never seen the kind of parent involvement as they have this year.why? parents worried with new coach their kid might lose their spot.they were crying about it the end of season banquet when former coach quit last year. you got parents neck deep this year who in past have never even shown up for their kids games now their running the show.no coincedence there.and not just varsity.you got froshsoph and jv parents who every move is planned around their kid getting to varsity. Fortunately there are the few parents who are sitting back leaving it up to their girls to earn their spot. but they are outnumbered. you gotta give it to the former coach who never allowed this kind of participation from parents.senior parents did the banquet and that was it. new coach has a committee for everything. sounds like he is the only one who doesnt realize he is letting things get out of control.he will figure it out eventually but not before things get much uglier.

Fred
you better hurry a copy of this letter has been sent to several attorneys and womans rights activists. Will see who takes the ball and runs with it.

Whatever,

What planet do you live on? come on you know how the world works get a clue only the strong survive and I don't mean physically.

now that might do the trick. we all know how any administration hates bad press. thanks fred...

So parents think that because they work the fields, donate $$, pay off those they need to, glad hand who they think they need to, and organize snack bar that should equal play time and fairness to their kid? If only it was that easy. lol Only to some, my friend, only to some.

thanks Fred your my hero'

In regards to Bonita's softball field being off campus, and the condition of the field is something I'm going to address in print in the next couple weeks. It's amazing that you have six, seven or eight soccer fields and no softball field on campus.

He takes the fifth'

BHSfan,
Strongly misguided huh!

Shut your mouth a little huh! maybe you need to figure out which side you are on?

Hey Fred whats your take on all this?

LAfan its true.

Somebody needs to start firing administrators and start from the top and let it trickle down to all the guilty ones and believe me they know who they are.

Just think about that for minute can you imagine being a coach and not knowing how your fields are going to be maintained day in and day out. W ether they will be done for games or not. With all the money that's up there on the side of the hill and Bonita has no way to drag there fields give me break.

This is probably the main reason why parents have vented so much on this forum this year .Without their major participation the program would not exist why wouldn't some parents believe their kid should play or have somewhat of a greater chance than others when there out there busting there tail and making this program work. I for one know Robert K. busted his tail for years maintaining and preparing the fields constantly and for what? If Bonita would handle their programs properly it would solve a lot of parent issues and problems.Come on Bonita get a clue!

thanks mr.b. didnt know that came from you....

Thank God for AB's dad for letting the coach use his quad.Without that no one knows how the fields would have been drug this year

the only thing definite is the plans to renovate the gym at bonita.there is no plans for any new softball field on campus. maybe in time for my great grandchildren

BHSfan,

A measure huh' so we should expect it to be done in 2020'

exactly.maybe if someone looked at all the issues parents would back off. if administration would look into parents concerns and did something there would be no need for these parents to vent here. while i may not of been a big fan of coach b, i will say he is a big supporter of title 9.he always encouraged his parents to go to the district about those issues.i mean my gosh, the girls are still using portables at the field.parents are probably paying for them.the last couple of years school wouldnt even pay for.the girls had to hope that bathrooms at elementary school next door would be left unlocked for them.which was only about 50% of the time. has any of the bonita bigwigs even been out to watch a softball game this season?? to see the new coach in action? doubtful.

Here's a copy of the exact letter sent to the man in charge.

March 4, 2009
Dr. Gary Rapkin
Superintendent
Bonita Unified School District
115 W. Allen Ave.
San Dimas, CA 91773

Dear Gary:
I would like to bring to your attention the conditions and current up keep of the Bonita high school softball fields. Prior to last season the poor conditions of these fields were brought to the attention of the faculty through channels we believed to be correct and appropriate, at that time several promises were made to bring the fields and other facilities up to an acceptable condition comparable to the Bonita high school boys and San Dimas high school girls softball fields. It has been more than one year since this was brought forth and the only thing that has been completed is new dirt put on the fields by the City of La Verne. These fields are left to the coach to maintain and prepare for practice, games and any tournaments all this with no mule or motorized vehicle to prepare the field. The dirt that was delivered this past season was simply dropped off spread over the fields and left leaving the task of leveling, compacting and conditioning for whom?
Going forward I do understand with budget cuts and the condition of the economy times are tuff but this is no excuse for last year and the year before. Let me tell you Bonita high school in the city of La Verne has two of the worst kept softball fields in the area it is a very sad thing to see. For one thing the fields are off campus and the students have to walk across a drainage ditch un supervised everyday to Las Flores park where at times homeless men have been seen sleeping under trees, The bathrooms are extremely far from the fields near the pools where no one can see the students walk to and from this is a big concern, there is no shade or tarps above the dugouts to shield them from the sun, there is no fence surrounding the fields to protect them from outsiders, the fields are shared with everyone and mainly soccer which wears the grass down to the dirt level, grass completely surrounds the fields and at most times cut but not trimmed around the back stop and bleachers leaving this task to the coaches, making the fields and area astatically displeasing. There were several plumbing leaks that were leaking on to the field damaging its base and integrity for more than three months and still were only repaired a couple months back.
Sir I know of as fact that San Dimas high school has none of these issues to contend with. There facility at the sportsplex is of no comparison it has all the needed basics plus several amenities to adequately service the softball needs of its student athletes I ask you why must Bonita be different it simply is not fair or right for that matter. It is my intention that this letter reaches you with great urgency but more then a year’s time has come and gone the students of Bonita high school deserve more. With the depleting levels of girls sports in high schools across America this type of neglect saddens me you would never ever see the boys baseball field with graffiti on the back stop for weeks, plumbing leaks damaging the field for three months mind you, broken bleachers at times with grass growing up the sides of the dugouts, the outfield so worn down it could be mistaken for part of the infield, this is no exaggeration these fields will at some point in this season revert back to these conditions. What must we do as parents and members of this community to resolve this I ask this question of you? You should be aware that Title nine has been mentioned on more then one occasion by parents at meetings and at games I really feel that it doesn’t need to go to that extent but a few simple and positive improvements would no doubt curve these ill feelings of concern and steer us in the right direction and of course give time for which greater improvements can be discussed and funds be acquired by the school district. Please find this letter as not a sign of any disrespect for all I know this issue may have never been brought to your attention but understand it has been an on going issue of great concern. I have chosen not to leave my name at this time but if needed later to resolve this issue I will gladly stand up for what is right.

Sincerely,
Concerned parent

A measure was recently passed that will put a softball field on the campus of Bonita as well as give them a new renovated gym.

So if the coaches are not the problem then who is ? well lets talk about that how could an administration let the girls softball fields get so bad at one point it was down right disgusting. How could they move them off campus when there is room for at least one good softball field is that fair to the young ladies of the school. Promises were made three seasons ago and nothing has been done. A letter was sent this year and once again empty promises its starting to get swept under the rug all over again. Somebody needs to stand up for these girls who we all know deserve better than this. Who cares about the parents and all there ego maniac crap that goes on here they get the short end of the stick every year.

bhs, "he does a great job for the girls he works with and is well liked?" you have got to be kidding. he may do a great job for the girls he likes but not for every player that has come thru that program, basketball or softball. someone did mention, only two girls stuck with the basketball program for their four years. that is nothing to brag about.why did all the other girls quit? he liked them too much?????he was too GOOD of a coach???get real

to bhs fan. first, read my post, did not mention boys sports at bonita. we all know you cannot compare the 2. and yes, new volleyball coach. my point exactly, parents were happy to have her. so you are a db fan.who cares. his record as a basketball and softball coach speaks for its self. and oh yeah, he quit softball last year to spend more time with his family then immediately started coaching football.he was feeling the heat and everyone knew it

for those of you complaining about Bonita's administration and coaches, you are strongly misguided or have personal agendas. Bonita is consistently ranked one of the top schools academically in Southern California. It is even a bigger deal, that they are able to keep their athletic programs striving with the academic standards they have there. Some schools like Walnut, Diamond Bar, and Claremont have strong academic programs, but their athletics are declining. Bonita continues to excel at both.

Bonita has GREAT coaches in most of their major sports. Let's take a look at some of these people:

Football, Eric Podley: Gets it done year in and year out with smaller players even while competing against bigger CO and DR as well as LA during the Gano era.

Basketball, Greg Eckler:
Coach Eckler has done a fantastic job and works really hard for his boys year in and year out. They somehow beat Diamond Ranch two seasons ago and went deep into the playoffs this year.

Baseball, John Knott:
Bonita baseball hasn't been this good in a long time and they have coach Knott to thank for it.

Wrestling, Rich Cunningham:
A longtime wrestling coach who cares a whole lot about each one of his wrestlers.

Girls BB, Darren Baumunk:
All of you softball parents who complained about him don't realize that he coaches several sports and teaches so get off the poor guys back. He does a great job for the girls he works with and is well liked.

Volleyball, Adriana Contreras:
A former college coach so you guys are lucky to have her.

Bottom line is that Bonita athletes are good kids and do a great job working. Continue to keep up the good job. It's a direct reflection of the administration as well.

well said, rk

bonitasajoke- i agree with you 100% , anyone who has ever had an athlete at bonita, during this current administration, knows very well what you and everyone else says is true. bonitas administration is by far the biggest waste of our laverne tax dollars. while individual programs are run by the head coaching staff, ultimately it is administrations responsibility to oversee these programs. yet at bonita, they do not want to deal with.they hire the coaches and let them do what they want. ignoring the fact that for some athletes, high school sports is all they have and for others, a stepping stone to college sports. neither athlete is served well at bonita. but honestly, administration does not care. bonita parents complained for 2 years about the former head volleyball coach and it was not until allegations appeared in the newspaper that administration finally got rid of him a year ago. yes, there will always be those parents complaining about their kids playing time. but at bonita, you have parents of star athletes wanting to see change. willing to let their kid prove themselves to a new coach, only to have their concerns ignored. girls basketball is a perfect example. this is the head coaches 4th year.He only had 2 , 4 year seniors this year. these 2 girls were the only ones who stuck with the program since they were freshman, his first year. everyone else quit. and these 2 were not his stars. these girls spent most of their time on varsity on the bench. yet stayed for the love of the game when all their friends around them gave up. that is pretty pathetic that in his 4 years, he only was able to keep 2 players in that program for that long.
as far as new coach, i cannot offer an opinion as i know longer have a daughter at bonita. but what i do wonder is why did it take so long to hire a coach? former coach quit back in may. i know for a fact several well qualified people applied for the job and were not even given the consideration . while i dont believe any parent, no matter how experienced should coach at the high school level, why were some parents applications considered and allowed to go thru the interview process while other equally qualified parents applicants ignored. not even given the courtesy of a return phone call and a "thanks but no thanks?" I know of a very qualified umpire/coach who applied for the job, more than once, and again, not even given the courtesy of a phone call. this job was re-posted online more than once. why? they had so many applicants who applications were thrown in the trash. if they would of considered every application, they could of had someone hired before school started. I certainly hope that your new coach gets his act together and sees what is not working this year and make changes next year. mostly with his parents involvement. he is asking for nothing but trouble by letting his parents get so involved.

Cheers, Fan2, Baseball, toobe

I am a parent who has had six years experience with Bonita High coaches, administration and parents. I have planned or helped at countless fundraisers for Field Hockey and Softball with two daughters that played sports at Bonita. My daughter played AP for three years in travel ball, she gave up travel when she was a sophomore, travel did not want her to play field hockey. ( she was 1st team all league this year, along with one other girl. They were the only first team girls in the Valley )She still wanted to play this year after all the crap from last year took the fire out of her, anyone who really knows my daughter knows what I mean by that. I just do not think coaches today communicate with there players as they should. Coaching girls is different than boys, if you have girls, you know what I mean, if you talk to them and really listen to them, make them feel important (ALL OF THEM) they will go to battle for you, with you! I am an average rec ball coach at best, I know that, never thought anything more, I coached JV with BS two years ago and learned more about softball than the prior five years, I also learned my role as a coach. BS was a really good coach for the details of the game and I watched and learned, I was more of a players coach. I tried to be somewhere in the middle when I coached JV myself. I lacked in areas, but I committed to the program, the fields, the kids, everyone. I did not agree with some of the decisions last year about the way some of the girls were treated, I let it be known. I had a lot of parents approach me that were concerned with some of the treatments that there girls had received. I spoke with the head coach about how I felt about it. Over and done with. I just think that if you want respect and you are a leader, you should always remain teachable, it does not seem to be that way anymore and I feel bad for some girls that are not even going to play high school ball anymore because they do not want to deal with this type of crap. Our AP coach was very involved with the girls, he knew what was going on and he made sure to explain his thought process with them about playing time and situational strategy. I want these girls to win, whether my daughter plays or not. I coached some of them. The last time we one the San Dimas tournament, was some of these girls playing now with myself and BS. I know that I am probably not helping my daughters cause, I just want coaches to realize that they have an effect on the players, real life is saying how you feel, not being afraid of what people think about you, what matters is how you think about yourself.

enough-

What do you mean a nut job..lol..there just opions and some facts..it seems the truth hurts..it's ok..and about Leyland, I'm sure he's a good hitter and good for him and his dad, but you can give him praise on his blog..thanks for your time..lol..your funny.

tired-

what are you talking about 18 Gold..let me guess your going to 18A and that's okay, good luck..you'll never make it to the big dance..just like LA FAN..lol..you guys are classic..I see the truth hurts..it's okay..were just posting opinions and facts here...lol..dont take to personal..you'll be alright..

imposter-

There nothing wrong with talking with the coach..are they scared to put it on the table..they should be able to talk..just handle it diligently and mature.. who know what happens after that.not in less your the coach??

!!!!!!!!....you are a passive aggresive nut job. Your "just wondering" comments are pathetic. Say what you have to say and stop asking to be embarrassed for the fraud some say you are. I could care less who you are...make your point. Must be one of the La Vernite "coaches" that pollute the city with their favortism and influence. Keep believing you're more than you are. I find it odd that a coach, who knows players from various schools, would come on here and trash talk like you do. AND YES YOU DO TALK TRASH...in your carpet muffing sly doggie way. What's your point? You're smarter than everyone here, more qualified than everyone here, know the future of every player and their ultimate potential. You, like most LV TRAVEL COACHES know squat!!!!! Look at the SD Leyland kid...how many games did he play his junior year?..10!!!!!! And now, in his senior year, after tons of hard "backyard work"...he might get DRAFTED...imagine that!!!!!!! Does he credit his TRAVEL BALL COACH....NO HE DOESN'T...He thanks his DAD..and does his DAD act like a HITTING GURU????? No he tells it like it is..."I wasn't a baseball player...I just learned as I went along"...incredibel individual.. Kudos to teh Dads out there that never give up on their kids and take matters into their own hands and thru hard work and love actuualy produce more than they take!!!!Players developing at their own pace. This travel system is sooooooo over rated in LV. Won't say much more...because the LV KIDS are OUTSTANDING but some of the PARENTS would kill their own mothers to see their kids get playing time. Believe that!!!!!!
BONITA/LV is notorious for parental influence of the highest order and backdoor dealing. Robert K...I think you might be highlighting a very important point in coaching and parent dynamics....get it out in the open...The HC should call you and your daughter "In" and talk this out. The blog does NO ONE ANY FAVORS... in the long run you'll see. Best of luck with your daughter..if she wants it as bad as you do she'll pop up somewhere else...playing a game is nice but "life" is what really matters. Where she thinking of going to school?

Hi there,
Ugh, I liked! So clear and positively.

Thank you
Zoran

i can assure you robert k was never coaches pet. while a chosen few have received that honor, he is not one of them. what he was , was a supporter of of the new coach like most have been, willing to give him a try and looked forward to his daughters final year being a good one. He thought that the blatant favortism and "rules apply to some but not all" way of coaching was gone. that his daughter, like rest of team would have to prove themselves to the new coach. but opinion changed with the treatment of his daughter and the realization that not much has changed from years past. that the promises made by new coach in the beginning, were empty. the only difference between robert and several other parents is while robert has been outspoken, most of just kept their mouths shut and waiting for end of the season.

Robert K.

You have been a classic $hit talker this year you have gone from coaches pet to coaches hater in less than 3months when this season is done and over I am going to take you out and buy you nice 24oz cold one on me lol.

Hey Front runner, sorry I mean Fred whats the delio man maybe i will have to check out the Southhills-los altos game sounds like your starting to grow hair nice to see some back bone lets hope it continues into football season. No doubt you will go, remember you go to all the games tha'ts why your rankings are the best.

!!!!!!!!!
why is it the awhole who always thinks a conversation will fix everything. Your an Idiot with a capital I.

formerparent

Bonita has always been a joke and always will pray for more teacher cuts maybe they will start from the top down. Until someone sues there sorry a$$ for title nine nothing and I mean nothing will ever change. Kit is the one that moved the fields to LF know one there cares about girls softball its all about the boys. They waited three months to hire a coach WTF. Coach said it his self at the last meeting this is why somethings are suffering traditions money etc......

Which travel team is it? Inquiring minds want to know.

!!!!!!!

so now that i know who you are. for all those comments you wrote about these young ladies where you say you werent bashing just wondering, your travel team doesnt have alot to show for anything. i know for a fact everything you stated against la fan your travel team didnt accomplish any of that. once your team does than you can sit there and criticize other people. oh and congrats on finally being 18u gold.

justsayin, yep ale house in downtown laverne.wonder if administration would approve?? does head coach even know??

LA Fan and !!!!!,
The way you two are going after each other, you should just get married.

An emphatic yes

Fred..will you be attending the game this wednesday?

LA FAN-

You think about it..
all these girls started in Rec-ball and then they improve to travel if there skill take'em to the next level..if your stuck in rec or high school it's okay..nothing wrong with that..just don't talk about travel if you no nothing about it..lol..just enjoy your kid playing high school ball not bashing..

funny your saying all these other tournaments, arent your lower divisions strictly going to afa and nsa tournaments? why they cant hack it in other tournaments? when was the last time your team that you coached went to asa nationals? my daughter went last year! REC-BALL? i doubt it! ive seen your team, you really shouldnt judge other kids and thier abilities when your team isnt that strong, and your travel!

LA FAN-

Your too funny..I'm talking ASA State and Nationals..I'm not talking about AFA or NSA or Triple Frown..You just stay with your rec-ball team and enjoy it..lol..and your talking about 18 Gold...you no nothing about it..lol..your classic..

anotherbhsfan you are right. there are more talented girls than AC sitting on the bench.she is a sophmore will get her chance.but yeah, needs benefit of good coaching.

your right...i haven't! but my daughter has gone to state and nationals. by the way congrats on qualifying for gold.only took you how many times?

LA FAN-

I didnt think so..But it's okay..I'm sure you've accomplished all you wanted in high school ball..lol.

former parent a smart one'
thanks you hit the nail right on the head.

Robert K.
I give you credit for having the stones to air it out here I hope your kid gets another shot. We were hoping he would throw her a bone against South Hills sorry it didn't happen but man you are way wrong about the ac player she is a great kid but not the stud you see sorry just another average player who needs some good coaching. Hitting JV pitching is not the same as varsity pitching no love on that one.

LA FAN-

No I think your missing something.. I never said I accomplish those mentioned below..lol..I was just inquiring..that's all..have you ever accomplish what's below..that was more of an example..lol..are with me..hello..lol..

!!!!!!!!!

I THINK YOUR MISSING THE QUESTION HERE? THEY SAID YOUR AN AVERAGE OR WHATEVER COACH RIGHT? YOU COME OUT SAYING WHAT YOU ACCOMPLISHED,BUT NOT WETHER ITS PLAYING OR COACHING. BIG DIFFERENCE!LOL!
AND I DONT CARE IF ITS IRRELEVANT OR NOT, I WASNT ASKING WHO YOU ARE,I SAID DOES SOMEONE KNOW WHO YOU ARE? NOT BASHING JUST WONDERING...LMAO

LA FAN-

I was trying to figure out inquire resume..that's all..he's talking out of his A$$..trust me you don't need to know who I am..that's totally irrelevant here on this forum..And let me guess you been and won state and been to nationals and won or place in the top 5 or 10. just curious not bashing just wondering??

!!!!!!!!!

does someone actually know who you are? so your saying you coached teams that have done everything you just wrote down? or you played for teams that have done that? like i heard many years ago, just because you can play the game doesnt mean you can coach it! there is a big difference!not bashing just my opinion!

and Hooters is a restaurant but I wouldn't book a baseball banquet there - even if I got a great deal.

Perception and common sense should prevail. the "ale house" seriously?

alright fans, dont start.i know woman who booked it there.did it because she got a great price not because it is a bar.it is also a restaurant and i am sure bar will be closed.

correction the proper name is "ale house" .what were all the banquet halls and country clubs booked??there are a few in LV

yes and her first assignment was to book their end of year banquet at a bar

hey rk too bad.i know bonita parents were hoping for something different from new coach.it is great that the girls are finally having a winning season, so hopefully that will continue to be the focus. but as much as we didnt like old coach the one thing he didnt do is let parents run team like yours is. part of it is ignorance on his part but maybe he will figure it out that once he opens the door, parents will take advantage. i only talk to a couple varsity parents these days but from what i hear some of those parents have got him wrapped around their fingers.Cant believe he is letting that dad keep score.good thing no one believes max preps. what happened to the AD, ms.holk?? she was scorekeeper for years, including last year. and is a freshman parent from freshman team really in charge of the banquet? at least old coach followed tradition and allowed senior parents the privelage. good luck lady bearcats. hope you continue to have a winning season.

Robert K-

Have you ever had a one-on-one with the coach?..Has your daughter ever talked to the coach by her self? and express where she stands on the team..these are supposed to be young ladies, I'm sure they can talk for there selves.. Don't think they need DADDY to rescue them..you know there going to be young adults pretty soon..so let them grow up..nothing wrong with confronting the coach in a decent and mature way..Hey who knows what happens after that..

Ashlyn Canchola, you could build a team around her if you showed some confidence in her

hate me, like me, agree or disagree, I do not need to hide behind a fake name, I love my kid like everyone else loves theres, the coach flat out gave up on her after one game, she has worked hard to get back to where she is and I think she deserves to be treated better. He never even talked to her about what happened or what he intends on doing with her, a players coach, HE IS NOT, will he ever admit he was wrong, no. I am proud of my daughter for all she has done and I will notsit quitely and kiss his ass like others do

shake it up a little. if you want to win CIF you better trust your coaches and players, not your Ouija board

hey Robert, i dont know you but man you have got some big ones.dont know how smart it is but hey gotta give it to you for speaking your mind.

who is she?

Canchola

AC?

I guess you can keep making errors on the Bearcats if you are "in" with the coach, every game it is the same thing, same players, same errors,a few hits, AC is a stud who should be playing every day. like I said, see how they handle the big girls, Does he have an assistant coach? I know some of you parents agree, I know who you are by your blog names, Bonita has six parents writing regularly,To bad we could not have gotten Gano when he was available. I remember his BS speech, "its all about the seniors", full of crap, say what everyone wants to hear and do the opposite, I had kids coaching field hockey that at least followed through with what they said they would do. I know a stud kid right now in 8th grade looking to go to San Dimas to not have to play for KC.

tired-

You are truly a lost soul..just wondering your telling me you have travel ball experience and you won state and been to nationals and place in the top 5 or even top 10..come on are you serious..and I'm not talking about triple frown or nsa..so what's your question..lol just wondering not bashing..

softball reality

its nothing against anyone else just this person in particular. this person knows what im talking about. dont get involved if you were to see this person and the way "she" blogs on here you would understand my screen name. everyone knows she is not bashing she is always just wondering. but my good source told me all about her. but she is an underaverage coach in travel ball who thinks she knows it all.

Seeing this comment makes one wonder why she went to South Hills instead of Bonita.
Reality sounds like you were trying to imply something? or are you just a sht talker'

where did you go ? you were so quick to reply on this earlier now that i start criticizing you, you are no where to be found. i guess thats what happens when youre an under average coach. not bashing just wondering !!!!!
Wow! Not implying anything except for maybe the coach knows why she attends South Hills not Bonita. Relax. Curing cancer or solving poverty is not occuring here. Just a question. What is an "under average coach?"

Softball Reality

Somthing is stating to look Fischy! lol

Softball Reality,

Please enlighten us on what will or should the coaches take be?

South Hills softball coach Scott Fisch is the most underrated coach in the area. Longest tenure of any coach and works as hard as anyone. Come to one of the games and watch the parents he has to put up with. Wonder why anyone would put up with this? Take note of the SGV All Star Softball game has been back for the last couple of years. Why? Scott Fisch took the initiative to put this together. It would great to see an article written about a coach who stands up for what is right year after year not just written for winning the league title or the CIF championship.

I thought South Hills pitcher really wanted this game she went to school with most of these girls in junior High and is from LV. Best I have ever seen her look, good for her great kid good pitcher.
Seeing this comment makes one wonder why she went to South Hills instead of Bonita. One should ask the South Hills coach about this situation. I am sure he would have a different take on this. Amazing how parents take a bit of information and run with it.

baseball
season is not over yet and Bonita did get there share of hits as well we will see who ends up where at the end. First game was plagued by errors and walks for bonita and FYI these by far were the worst umpires ever both sides of the coin.

CW was not herself in that game you could tell from the first pitch. I'm Not making an excuse congrats to South Hills for playing a great game they have some good young talent over there but she was just off and the team keyed off of that performance. Everyone has a bad day good for them it wasn't a league game. Bonita will regroup and recover nicely for there up and coming league games.

I thought South Hills pitcher really wanted this game she went to school with most of these girls in junior High and is from LV. Best I have ever seen her look, good for her great kid good pitcher. Bonita looked horrible errors again the game went somewhat similar to the LA vs Bonita game one. Fred this is not going to hurt them to much they will bounce back humbling for them and time to get itin gear for league against DR. Bonita has notoriously done bad after spring break look at the history.

!!!!!

lol you are way to funny. you laugh at eating "crow" or "shi%t" why dont you stop eating carpet. just worry about your sorry travel ball team. they dont accomplish anything. you are far below an average coach.

have no idea if they r okay with not pitching.on jv?think they both did their time on jv, they have been on varsity couple years now.one is a senior

doghouse-

Just wondering are the other 2 pitchers ok with not pitching..I mean why don't they pitch on the JV team..they would go undefeated..and they would maybe see some time next year and will be ready for varsity..It's just hard to keep 2 pitchers happy..well it's seems that way..can you imagine 4 pitchers..wow..

!!! ur right.i was just offering my opinion to someones question.and yeah if it aint broke dont fix it.i am sure next year with ab gone he will be putting all his eggs in one basket with cw.she might as well get use to it now. and by the by, i have see other 2 pitchers, they are legit.

doghouse-

Do you agree that 4 pitchers are to much for a high school..nothing against the others..And if you pitch for a travel team doesn't make you a legit pitcher..my opinion..Since CW has been doing more of the work in the circle and winning, you ask yourself "why fix it, if it aint broken"I'm sure AB gets some inning..Bonita has the luxury of having 2 legit pitchers..Glendora's in the same boat, they have 2 legit pitcher's and doing very well..some teams like BA or even LA only have 1 pitcher..there putting all there egg's in one basket..now that's tough to do..will it bite them in the butt later..don't know will see..

If memory serves we welcomed CW back to the mound in the second game with a huge hit that scored a couple more.

bhs has 4 pitchers. other 2 are the 1st baseman.#3 pitcher pitches on the head coaches travel team and #4 starter on her travel team.obviously he knows what he has and feels he doesnt need them at bonita.anyone watching can see he is counting on cw to take him to cif.hopefully she wont let him down.that is alot of pressure on her. i think more bizarre he is not using ab more.there was a lot of hype with her return to the roster.

Apparently both pitchers pitch on Saturday..CW started the first game and SH's hit her..the second game AB started and SH's again hit her, until the 6th inning CW came in and reliever her of her duties.. I know Bonita's has depth in there pitching but are you asking why the number 3 pitcher didn't come in and pitch??

south hills parent.that is the million $$$ question and one for the coach.am sure other pitchers r asking same question.but like !!! said, it is all about cw.i know i read a comment from one of their coaches how they were happy with all their pitching depth.where is it??

bhs has bigger things than pitching to worry about at least for now. anyone see their jv pitchers?that will be their challenge once cw graduates next year.

back to !!!!!!
there is only one circle and we know who is in it.

i was so excited about seeing some good pitching on saturday and after watching the first game, i thought to myself "what is going on here". i know bonita has another strong pitcher who rarely gets to pitch and always gets pulled. why are we not seeing the other 3 pitchers play??

i havent see all of bonitas games but the ones i have i have seen their great pitching & hitting.as far as saturday, i think sh hitters dominated bonita pitching.happens to the best of them.

baseball-

It seems you were there at the game this week...Are you telling me that Bonita has weak Pitching? or SH's hitting just totally dominated Bonita's pitching?? I know Bonita has outstanding pitching, we all know what she's done (CW/AB) in the past against some tough teams..

Congrats SH ladies.

And hey you Lady Bearcats, you ladies still rock, keep your heads up and play hard till the end.

Nothing like this was expected from your team, to be ranked and talked about this much, so you have done wonders already but don't rest ladies and good luck the rest of the season.

SH starting pitcher (Bernard) only gave up one run. She came into the second game in the 7th to make sure it ended in a tie!

Huskie-

Congrats to you and the SH's Softball team..I just haven't heard to much about your pitching..and now I'm sure SGV found out a little bit..and you must have a really good Freshman pitcher to hold Bonita on limited hits and runs shows a lot..Please Inquire wants to no what happen as well??

Let's give some credit to SH pitching as well. Bonita's first run didn't cross until the 5th inning of the first game, which was their only run in that game against starting pitcher Bernard.

Second game was a blow out until a shaky 6th inning against the freshman pitcher La Follette who pitched very well! We had that game! ARRGGHHH

GREAT JOB South Hills after winning the Katella Tournament and this past weekend against Bonita I think people just might start to take notice!

Bonita fans please clarify for me on what happen?? I believe that SH's has a descent team..but was Bonita not hitting good pitching..just has an off day like any other team..I know you guys are strong..especially pitching..with CW and AB in the circle you guys are tough..maybe looking past SH?? Can SH's really hit the ball well?? Wow cant wait till Wednesday..LA better not look past this SH's team..they just proved they hang with the best...

tough loss for bonita.definately showed the weakness in their pitching when up against a good hitting team like SH..

This definitely has to hurt Bonita in cif polls and SGV polls..nothing against sh but they were not ranked or I'm sure not favored to win and tie..wow...what an upset..Good job SH's..big game against LA this Wednesday..Keep up the hard work...again Bonita loosing and tying SH's..

cw pitched whole first game.ab pitched 2nd game.pulled her and put cw back in, in the 6th.

I guess this confirms what fred said last week, that bonita was not a true No. 4 in Division III. What do you say now Bearcats fans.

I was curious who was pitching for Bonita.. for both games..for SH to get 10 runs in two games is very impressive against the SGV # 2 team..

scores are right fred.bonitas pitching could not hold up against SH bats
