Softball: Glendora back where it started, #1
The biggest surprise in this week's rankings is that I've got an 8-8 Bishop Amat over a 9-1 Sierra Vista? That's becuse there is a huge gap between the top five and bottom five. I look at it this way, Bishop Amat has six wins over teams that are better than any of Sierra Vista's wins. But don't sleep on the Dons, they have a legitimate pitcher, I just want to see them win against better teams. Glendora is the obvious No. 1, but here comes the blog's drama-filled Bearcats, making a mid-season push for the top spot. Los Altos? I can't figure them out yet.

Safe: Glendora runner slides safely at second in last week's 3-1 win over Bishop Amat.
Girls Softball top ten rankings
1. Glendora (6-2) - Who made their crummy schedule? Their 3-1 victory over Bishop Amat last week came two weeks after their loss to Etiwanda in the San Dimas tournament final, then they take another week off before playing Diamond Bar in the Sierra League opener on April 14. Still, they beat Bonita without Waldusky, so it's a no-brainer, they're No. 1.
2. Bonita (14-2) - You have to hand it to the 'Cats, after losing a game they probably should have won at home to Los Altos, they go to Los Altos and get a big win, and are streaking again, winners of seven straight.
3. Los Altos (10-4) - The top spot was theirs to lose and they lost it. I just don't see the hunger in their eyes that I see in other teams. Maybe that will come when the playoffs near, but it's not there now. Talent-wise, they have it all, but it takes more than just talent.
4. San Dimas (8-3) - It must be April, because the slow-starting Saints are starting to warm-up. They have won five straight, and allowed just two runs over a four-game stretch, which includes back-to-back wins over Covina and Northview.
5. Bishop Amat (8-8) - I know they lost four of five, but they still looked pretty good in a 3-1 loss to Glendora at home last week. Their schedule is brutal, and maybe it pays off down the road. But if I'm being honest, they're still a top five despite their .500 record.
6. Sierra Vista (9-1) - Hey Fred, why are you dissing the Dons? Because the only big win on their schedule was against some unknown 6-4 team named Connelly. I guarantee if they prove their worth in next week's Charter Oak tournament, they will climb up the board in a hurry.
7. South El Monte (6-4) - They split a double-header against a very good Cantwell Sacred Heart team, the best evidence yet that they're bouncing back from their early season troubles.
8. Charter Oak (8-5) - The loss of McKenna Gooden, arguably one of the area's best hitters if not the best, is a tough blow on a team that relies on hitting. With Los Altos and Bonita in their league, that's a tough spot to be in.
9. Walnut (6-4) - I was getting ready to bump the Mustangs up the rankings then they lose two-straight to Bonita and Rowland. Bonita I can forgive, but a 6-0 loss to a 6-8 Rowland team I can't forget.
10. Covina (6-4) - The Colts won three straight, including a 6-5 win over rival Northview that puts them second in the Valle Vista all by themselves. They're swinging the bat, I'll give them that.

Fred- Good job. And I would never put Bonita #1 until their parents learn how to behave. Funny though, they would never consider that they would be their own biggest problem.

something that everyone should teach there kids, take responsibility for your actions, and dont lie to make yourself look good
be kind to others even when its difficult.
have a nice softball season, leave LA alone! your nonsense and story telling is only hurting the team, even if you dont see it cause your out there gossiping and what ever else your doing???????

!!!!!!!!!!!!
please blog us and say your not one that is out there protecting us against the bad and the evil, cause what you blog is hateful, and synical not to mention lies..... I dont remember hearing any body making excuses for DL and I was at the games when we have lost, maybe you were or maybe your source told you something?????? we never know cause you change your stories and your names.
Pitchers job make the pitch the catcher calls, there are alot of good ball players that are very capable of hitting so you as a pitcher need a good defense, not 1 player can do it on there own.(team sport) catchers job give the right sign and catch the ball or make a good throw when runners are on!Most important dont drop the ball at the plate!
Infield make the play's, out field make the plays dont let the ball get by you. Remember most important Team Sport......Leave LA alone with all your hate, if you have a problem with the coaches or the as you call it daddyball I'm sure if you want to talk to the coaches they will be happy to talk to you. Oh but I bet your a big blogger not a face to face kind of human cause then you would have to speak and its easier to hide and lie isnt it!
Bottom line go feed off of someone else's bottom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your on crack dude I can name more than a dozen high
school teams who have daddy coaching in the sgv a lone. I would bet there is more than 50 locally. You have no clue it takes dedicated parents to take time off of work to coach not everyone is out to play daddy ball. With out parents the system would be an even bigger joke. I am sure there are some cases of daddy ball always a bad apple but not at LA. Case in point look at Mr. Fisch at SH I am sure he is haiting life right about now.

Seriously, who's acting like an A$$-#### now. Just admit it, that's exactly how ur being right now. Anyways, regardless of the motives with wanting Roxy to stay and work on her game. It was only to her advantage. Now because of all the hard work that the Coach and her put into it, she signed a letter of intent yesterday. Bottom line, her college education is paid for. Congrats Roxy and Diana, you guys have put a lot of hard work into it.

Catcher friend-
And your absultley right to make her look good..not ignorant just the truth..home run happens, dam it the catcher calling the wrong pitches..hit deep in the outfield..dam she should of caught it..I'm sure that's exactly how it goes..don't fool yourself..It's never and will never be her fault..not blaming the kid at all because she's not the one making excuses..the parents..and for the coach yea she probably did help the catch so she can catch her during practice..I pretty sure that's how it went..

LA FAN-
Your parents clearly state it a one person show over there..you still don't get it..what are you on??are you that blind..I don't really care how many starters there are, like I said 3-4 or 2 who cares..And please do you really want to throw the catcher's mom into this..think about it before you answer that..(didn't think so).. I don't blame the kid for anything I kinda blame the parents and AD for making it that way..you are definitely clueless..and it's sad..and if your kids getting playing time that's all good..but don't lie to yourself..so many people see it except you..trust me nothing against the kid she has absolutely nothing to do with this..I'm just saying you don't see this anywhere else..or do you??not even travel ball..but what do you know about... And with way you see things I don't think any travel coach would except you, that's where your kid suffers..I wonder how many bridges he burned in travel ball?? yea..that many..again the kid suffers..you don't see it do you?

BUT ANDY HAD ALOT OF FAITH IN THE ABILITIES SHE HAD,SHE WILL BE ATTENDING NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIV. IN THE FALL, IM SURE HER PARENTS LAURA AND JERRY ARE PROUD OF HER! BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY FOR THIS TOPIC IM SURE THEIR GRATEFUL TO ANDY FOR WORKING SO HARD WITH HER.HE KNEW SHE COULD DO IT! AND THEY BOTH PROVED THE NAY-SAYERS WRONG! I KONW ROXYS PARENTS AND LAURA WAS VERY HAPPY WHEN SHE TOLD ME HOW WELL ROXY WAS DOING AND HOW SHE WAS WORKING HARD WITH ANDY, I HAVENT SEEN THEM THIS YEAR BUT IM SURE SHE IS STRONGER. SO YOU TELL ME IF ITS ALL ABOUT DADDY-BALL WHY WOULD ANDY WANT TO HELP SOME ONE ELSE? AND DONT SAY JUST TO HELP HIS DAUGHTER LOOK GOOD...THATS JUST PLAIN IGNORANT!!!

really?you should care, for someone who comes out trying to throw facts around like you know whats up,you sure make alot of mistakes.in one of your earlier blogs you said {alot of la parents},i tell you theres only 2 4yr. starters now your saying you dont care? for someone who doesnt care you sure waist alot of time trying to know dl's stats,or whats going on with the la program. it seems to me you do care a whole lot in fact! i wonder why? you say your source tells you, or sometimes you went to the game.yet when you look around its always the same people all la fans and families.so either your a jealous parent, which theres none really,or your a coach of one of the girls?you dont have a kid for her to have played with right? is it because shes never played with your weak travelball team?thats why your so fixated on making a KID look bad?
your still avoiding my question, why were her stats higher sophomre year?and dont say you dont care? youve already said you look at her stats.! and if you think its daddyball you truely have no clue, hes hardest on her and has NO problem helping out others,in fact talk to our catchers mom shell tell you, he was the one pushing for her to start travel-ball and to work out with dl,because he believed she had the talent when NO one else thought she did!and now look at her shes going off to college next year.if youve heard otherwise then you or your source is wrong and that is a FACT!!!!
after she leaves its obvious whats going to happen, theyll have to rebuild.with 5 starting seniors any team would have to...so what point are you trying to make besides the fact that your obsessed with every move this poor kid makes!

I dont really care if there is 3-4 or 2 year varsity starters I'm not questioning that!!!..I don't believe you don't see it..come on it's always going to be that certain persons show over there that's daddy ball..never seen that anywhere is softball except at LA..really how many parents coach there daughter in high school.. cut the bib off already..I hate to see when she goes to college.. let see what the coaches do after she leaves..that'll prove my point..don't take so personal..sometimes I know the truth hurts..and of course I was wondering if they were going to pitch someone else, if they want to be competitive for next year let the other pitch get her feet..I don't think the coaches want to pad her stats do you..lol..you are clueless..

angrybonitafan,
seems youve got that position down-packed. maybe thats why your so angry?i remember diamond ranch saying the same thing last year how la was overrated, and they see us finishing last next to wilson?refresh my memory what happened? thats right la went 11-1 and on their way to their 3rd league championship.so dont count la out just yet!
!!!!!!!
why do you wonder if dl is going to pitch or if the coaching will put in someone else.i know your not bashing,as you say,but you sure do try and bring alot of negative attention towards dl and la. you say you dont have a kid that plays, what are you doing here then? and for you thinking you know everything you or your source should get your facts straight, look at maxpreps,it clearly shows dl went 1-4!maybe you should get the clue?and maybe her brother was the one putting in the stats her sophomre year, when she had a higher batting avg. and more rbi's ya that sounds good. he probably hacked into the system and changed them! why dont you leave la alone already?theres only 2 4yr varsity starters, so your saying their parents are putting on a show? or let me guess its just dl right?hating gets you no where!the only one being an ass hole her besides angrybonita fan is YOU!
by the way you didnt strick a nerve,we all know thats what your going to say,or that your not bashing.you use those lines everytime.everyones just sick of you!

I think I struck a nerve..some people do read stats and I'm not over analyzing the situation here, by far..You keep watching your daughter play if that makes you happy..I'm not questioning that at all...you are so blind to the situation and that's fine that's your prerogative.. this is a blog to share info or opinions..just like an a$$hole everyone has one, you don't have to be one..lighten up..And you really think they'll let anyone keep score for them and put them into maxpreps..you got to be kidding yourself..or just a lost soul..it will always be the certain players show over there and that comes from a lot of your LA parents and its going on 4 years now, I believe..get a clue..I do believe LA is good team but come on..get a clue..not bashing just wondering..lol..

#1LAFan,
No doubt we will enjoy beating LA for the next three years a little pay back for the last four. Remember your loosing 4starting seniors and a shortstop wow 5 starters. '
So pipe it down a bit this year is just a taste of whats to come. Get used to grabbing your ankles its going to be a long three years.
Posted by: Angrybonitafan | April 8, 2009 11:48 AM
hey !!!!!!!!!
if you read max preps correctly,DL didn't get 2 walks.she went 1 for 4.she gave up to walks.you must really hate on that kid.your always trying to down play her when she does well'or rub it in when someone hits off her.it sounds like your an unhappy lady,or extremely jealous.
Posted by: blogreader | April 8, 2009 11:38 AM
!!!!!!
I have no clue on what you just said. I read and understand English. Your right, some people do read stats. But with you, it's more than that. To tell you the truth, I can care less what's in the stats. I just enjoy watching my daughter and the team play. What I'm concerned with is that someone who goes to all the LA games and supposedly supports them, constantly comes on here and bashes them or always trying to get a rise out of them (since you never bash as you say). That's what you do or why else would you want to bring it up. Can't you let the girls go out and have fun (that goes for all the LA parents) and be drama free. My daughter tells me all the time that there trying to come together but it seems like the parents are always pulling them apart because they think they know everything about everything. Fred always says this is place where people can express their opinions. Well, here's my opinion about you, !!!!!!. I think your a cruel and heartless person. I think you have no family of your own and going to HS games and commenting on coaches and players allows you to get off on yourself.
As for the LA softball team. Regardless of what happens in the next
Bonita game. Do your best and that should be good enough with everyone. Best of luck the rest of the season and don't let anyone bring you down.

Some people look at stats..You almost want to believe some of them, but when there way off...I wonder why??? That's her brother in the dugout and it makes wonder even more..Hey your the one who called him out on this one..maybe the coaching staff goes by another one just for that reason..Hum...but your telling that doesn't sound fishy..come on get a clue..
Posted by: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! | April 8, 2009 10:55 AM
!!!!!!!
Same ol, same ol with you. Why are you so concerned with stats. Your constantly calling out Mike in the dugout. Why don't you go to the Coach and volunteer to do the book? Why do you get so much amusement in trying to get a rise out of people? Just wondering, not bashing, just wondering!!!!
Posted by: ?? | April 8, 2009 10:32 AM
Well thank you LA FAN we do agree with something..I was wondering why it took so long for LA to pitch another pitch besides DL in a game..If they want to be competitive for next year and win they have to start pitching someone else..they have had numerous opportunity to do so until the Wilson game..and by the way what score book does the LA coaches go by? to put in to Max preps.. for some reason on Wilson two scorekeepers they don't remember DL having two walks in that game? do you? and if so when? Just wondering not bashing, just wondering..
Posted by: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! | April 8, 2009 10:20 AM
Case in point about rankings. Last year San Dimas wasn't ranked by cif and came in third place in league. They made playoffs as the #3 seed for their league. They made it all the way to the cif semi-final game. Rankings have no bearing on how a team performs.

and i agree with !!!!!!!!!,you should just soak in the cif rankings because ayala and cresenta valley, are much better teams then you.

Fred said it right do you put Wilson in # 1 because they beat bonita..NO..Your sayng that bonita beats LA they should be # 1..NO..I'm not questioning when they play that is good softball.. no doubts there..and I'm sure game 3 will be a dandy, and they both better bring there "A" game if they want to win there league..Bonita is playing good ball right now..no question about that and I'm sure they'll do well..Look at the cif ranking do you believe that??
Posted by: !!!!!!!!!!!!!! | April 8, 2009 8:06 AM

Listen dude sometimes its about match ups you never know what those teams would do if they face each other right now its only speculation we know what the top three do when they've faced each other makes for some good softball. But truly Bonita the number 4 team beat the #1 team sounds like a no brainer to me.
Posted by: Angrybonitafan | April 7, 2009 7:10 PM
Fred,
The difference is Glendora, Bonita, LA are all in the top five of the softball rankings where the heck is wilson in your baseball world?
Stonelessfred said, "I thought when you beat the big Dawg you become the big Dawg." I guess with that analogy I should have made the Wilson baseball team No. 1 for beating top-ranked Bonita last week, right?

wait, so bonita still in top 10 of cif rankings, glendora falls off and they are still #1 according to you?? glendora has played half the games overall as any other team. make them play a few more and catch up,then rank them.

Fred, the NUMBER 1 team this week should be Bonita. It's there spot to lose. Nothing against Glendora but Bonita has been playing the best ball in the area right now. Not only has Glendora been off for 2 weeks (what a crappy schedule) with solid win against BA. During that time Bonita has managed to knock off 3 teams in your Top Ten. Come on man give Bonita some Love.

And one more thing charter Oak should have fell far from the charts they looked horrible in their 10-0 loss to Bonita, what bats? Like kh
said in the baseball blog you need to seriously go to more games, wait a second forget that might be even worse lol.

You should be happy with a clear number 2 in the top 10.. are you kidding..Okay you beat a good LA team what else do you want..You also lost to them.. Some of the area's top players would have to be the pitchers sorry to say it but in high school that's the way it goes..But in Travel ball is different story..Of course Waldusky and the whole Glendora team, CW from Bonita,CO hitters, DL from LA (is that better LA Fan)..there's alot of talent in the SGV right now it's just hard to keep up with them..

Fred, as usual you are right on point. I was wondering WHO YOU thought are some of the areas top players to watch and are helping their team.
