Softball: Keeping tabs on area leaders

With most schools on spring break I thought it was a good time to show you the current CIF rankings and the area's top batting leaders provided by MaxPreps. When I look at these rankings, the teams with a best chance at winning titles are Bishop Amat, San Dimas and South El Monte, all in winnable divisions. Glendora is not ranked in Div. II, and Bonita has a generous No. 4 in Division III. Don't get upset Bearcats, just being honest.

CIF Rankings
Division III: 1. Tesoro, 2. Oaks Christian, 3. Patriot, 4. Bonita, 5. Ayala, 6. Crescenta Valley, 7. Los Altos, 8. Flintridge Sacred Heart, 9. Alemany, 10. Rigehtti.
Division IV: 1. Ocean View, 2. Lakewood St. Joseph, 3. Torrance, 4. Bishop Amat, 5. Segerstrom, 6. Aquinas, 7. Cabrillo, 8. Santa Monica, 9. El Segundo, 10. Cantwell Sacred Heart.
Division V: 1. Woodcrest Christian, 2. Whittier Christian, 3. Village Christian, 4. Calvary Murrieta, 5. Riverside Christian, 6. La Canada, 7. Estancia, 8. San Dimas, 9. Chadwick, 10. Sierra Vista.
Division VI: 1. La Salle, 2. Maranatha, 3. Marymount, 4. South El Monte, 5. Ramona Convent, 6. Oxford Academy, 7. Grace Brethren, 8. Campbell Hall, 9. Serra, 10. Viewpoint.

!!!!!

lol you are way to funny. you laugh at eating "crow" or "shi%t" why dont you stop eating carpet. just worry about your sorry travel ball team. they dont accomplish anything. you are far below an average coach.

Inquire-

Hey I just said I like to watch some good softball..I do believe that Bonita has a good program and it's gotten better this year..I'm just saying that LA has a good chance of basically winning there league..eating "crow" or sht..lol..your too funny..

!!!!!!!!
I hope your hungry before this season is over your going to eat a lot of crow I mean sht. No kid huh! fishy 'must be a closet?

Cat,
I forgive you(But look her there playing)

San Dimas has only given up 2 run in there last 7 games

Inquire-

Trust me I can admit when I'm wrong..your crying for Ink or Love..you got it now, and now you don't know what to do with it..enjoy your ranking (for now). I do believe anybody can beat anybody on any given day.. and if you truly believe the ranking your a lost soul..come on..you have to be kidding..right..and sorry I don't have a kid that plays, but enjoy watching some good softball..thanks for your concern..

showsomeclass,

Thank You.

Really you want to complain about stats be my guest go ahead but leave the kids out of it your a classless piece of work you know.

For all of those Blog / stat happy people! WAKE UP! I guarentee that 95% of the posted stats are wrong. We have played the catcher from San Dimas in Travel Ball. Totally diffrent story! Anyone can hit in that league..

Robert K

We use to think you were just a coaches a$$ kisser but now we know your just an A$$ kisser.

Listen,
Lets not lose sight here, All of these kids and all of these teams are HONESTLY working hard. And all of them deserved to be praised for what they do for their respective teams. As for the CIF Rankings; they are truly based on your win / lose record. Teams like Glendora, they will be there in the end and a team like Bonita, they will be there as well. And of coarse the team that is playing well in June, will most likely win the PRIZE. so MY SUGGESTION TO ALL, sit back and be blessed that we all can watch some very good games, cheer for these players and shut the hell up

!!!!!!!!
Listen why is it the awhole such as yourself who always thinks someone is talking about their kid or team If you read my posts I was a non believer in CW and she is of no relation to me or anyone I know unlike you I can admit when I'm wrong I for one thought bonita would be an average team at best. Now since your such the expert on HS and travel ball tell us who your kid or step daughter etc... plays for inquiring minds want to know or should I say laugh.
And do I believe those rankings fk yea until one of those other teams beats them why wouldn't you its not an easy task to win so many games of course thats what CIF bases their rankings on but there still wins its about match ups my friend anyone can beat anyone on any given day as intelligent as you project your self to be you should know that.

really-

I agree with you..some people live by the stats..but when you have people cooking the books to make someone look good is sad..I think this is the only way and time there kids can shine or look good..but in travel ball it's a totally different story..I've seen a lot of these pitchers and hitters in travel ball and it's not the same..trust me there average..if that..It is to a certain extent if your playing on a weak travel ball team they play in weak tournaments but they look average at that..

For all of those Blog / stat happy people! WAKE UP! I guarentee that 95% of the posted stats are wrong. We have played the catcher from San Dimas in Travel Ball. Totally diffrent story! Anyone can hit in that league..

Inquire-

It's seems you want more ink for your team or your daughter and that's ok..if Fred's not posting or boasting about your kid..go ahead and put her on blast here..it's OK put her numbers and everything she's doing maybe going to college..ect..Just be grateful that cif has your ranked where your at for now..Do you honestly believe those rankings?? I mean ahead of those other great teams. You have to hand to Fred he does go to most of the games..I don't think cif has been to one...hum..makes you wonder who's right..

Wow Fred, these guys show no mercy, come on guys, Bonita gets more coverage than anyone in the Valley, I have seen Fred at games, he has been talking about the turnaround, the new direction and given us props, I know he is impressed, they are doing great and coming together but,we have work ahead to acheive KC's goals, give him a friggin break.

Lets get twiddle Dee !!!!!!!!! and twiddle Dumb #1LAfan over here to report the sgv game news.

Hey Fred did I get your blood boiling just a bit? Lol

Looking for volunteers Lol Fred where do i sign up ?
Man I like busting you balls gets me through the day Lol

Track and Swimming! Your kidding right give me a break, glowingly what do you think I'm doing here its your job to report it in the paper now get to it.

I should let you read my emails, there are hundreds of others who have "huge" stories for me :)

Fraijo pitched 174+ innings CW has pitched only 62 to this point with 104 ks. I remember Fraijo had to share pitching time with no one. bonita has been blessed it just seems individually this is a huge story and turnaround and fyi your memory must be failing you remember all the flack you got in the beginning of the season for the rankings I couldn't find it in the archives but man you were the one pumping this pitcher up ! I was too a non believer and against you its funny how things change.

You don't understand how this works, with our staff, we haven't been able to cover the deserving track and swimming athletes the way we should, and here we are, barely halfway through the season and you're complaining because we haven't identified the best Bonita players, yet we already have covered about four games, which is four more than a lot of teams. You want to talk glowingly about players, then do it here, in the blog, that's what it is here for. Or, you can complain about me all day, it's your choice.

There are 30 teams in our coverage area, what makes bonita so special. There are girls all over that deserve to be written about, not just bonita, be happy that you have been covered as much as you have.

that's not true, we haven't written a feature on anyone this season, that's coming. The difference with Fraijo is she was that whole team in my opinion, she single-handedly won games for the Vikings and was a dominant strikeout pitcher. I haven't seen too much of that this year.

FRED IM WAITING!
Quote"
one thing you are wrong about and not sure why is Some of the Bonita athletes are having career seasons over their and you have given them 0 credit ,nothing CW has a league leading .34 ERA possibly the best in the area and you say nothing. If that was Fraijo or Patterson the press wouldn't stop running whats the deal man?

Zero credit. They only have been covered more than any other team in our area. Sorry we don't cover them like the Dodgers, that's just the way it is.

Fred Bonita has to play who is put in front of them and there winning whom ever that maybe but one thing you are over looking by far is the fact that bonita has this year three outstanding pitchers to choose from and Carlson is using them to his advantage with this depth and if their hitting continues will be to their advantage in CIF. CW is for sure on a roll but if anyone of the three get into trouble unlike most teams he has the luxury of other options. Look what Bachman did to your best hitting team in the area gave up two hits wow. take a good look.

Fred even though bonita loss to glendora they out hit them 7 to 4 hits and I'confess your right about CV but one thing you are wrong about and not sure why is Some of the Bonita athletes are having career seasons over their and you have given them 0 credit ,nothing CW has a league leading .34 ERA possibly the best in the area and you say nothing. If that was Fraijo or Patterson the press wouldn't stop running whats the deal man?

I'm being objective, other than Los Altos, who Bonita split with, what other win is worth getting terribly excited about? Aquinas, who also hasn't beaten anyone special. You're asking for answers so there you go.

I would also put Ayala ahead of Bonita considering two of their losses were against 15-0 Tesoro, another to 12-2 Norco and they beat Los Altos...Bonita hasn't played a heavyweight yet, just heavyweight contenders. Los Altos has played Etiwanda, Ayala and others, big difference. And please, this doesn't mean I don't have respect for Bonita, I think what they have done in a years time is by far the best turnaround and story of the year, but I'm not getting carried away yet like you folks.

Right, and with a split with Los Altos, I still have Bonita ranked ahead of Los Altos, but behind Glendora, who I will repeat again, beat Bonita with a sophomore pitcher not named Waldusky. In CIF, for sure I would have Crescenta Valley ranked ahead of Bonita, they have the best home run hitter in the state and are very legitimate with just one loss.

Fred maybe you should have steve proof read your comments before you press enter lol

Fred,
Nothing more powerful than the written word:
You have to hand it to the 'Cats, after losing a game they probably should have won at home to Los Altos, they go to Los Altos and get a big win, and are streaking again, winners of seven straight.

Freddie my boy read what you wrote and then you go and say its a generous ranking.wtf

Hey Carlson looks like your parents are really respecting your wishes Lol
I'm sure that bigkidsmom,tossup,fan1,2&3,cch snp, anotherfan, bhs and all the other bonita parents will start to chime in now that Robert K and Angrybonitafan have broken the silence. Can't wait to see whats next.

jcaz-

Go back to your room..until your ready..lol..were just voicing our opinions that's all and maybe a little frustration..lol..

Every time I come into one of these softball threads I get the feeling that someones really mad at someone else and is cussing the living daylights out of them (but no one even realizes it).

After all we have

??????

Then we have:

!!!!!!!

Next, some one will tune in with:

#@^&*#@!?

Obviously, a very angry "potty mouth" if there ever was one...

Just look below

Fred,

I think Bonita will be happy where they are right now, they are proving me and a lot of other people wrong. They have been coming together as a team. It will be interesting to see if they can keep up the bats when they play the big girls. They have managed to make due so far even with all the the
bull@#&% from us parents. I have committed to my wife that I would remain positive, so kick ass girls

RG26-

Think about what your saying..you said that Bonita has no chance of winning there league..there beating everyone else..what else do you want??I see them continuing on beating everyone in there league..the last game between LA and Bonita will be the deal breaker but I do give them a good chance..with a Junior on the mound CW she pitch a great game against LA last time..who know maybe LA get's the fire back in there eye and realize what's at stake.. LA has had a target on there back for a few years now and you don't think everyone wants to beat them..bhfan said Bonita has no pressure and they don't..LA has the pressure to win..and can they do it?? Yea I believe they can, they just need to be mentally stronger and of course hit the BALL..

rgd2626
the difference is Bonita is playing to win no pressure LA is playing not to loose all the pressure.

Dang, yall can't be happy about anything. Oh, I see you're happy when your complaining about everything!!! Fred you need to start a complaint only blog so that they can go there and piss and moan about everything. It's a darn shame that you can't enjoy reading something positive or good news with out it truning UGLY! Yall just go from one blog to another creating KOAS, what do yall really get out of it. Fred I enjoy most of your blogs, but these folks are really sicking and are taking the joy out of them.

Fred
bonita has no chance at wininng cif, they wont even win there league.for everyone that has seen both teams play,a lot of difference in the talent level. you hit it right on the head the other day about la, they have NO fire in there there eyes, when they realise this they will be a completely different team.isnt it amazing how nasty the bonita fans get over your opinions.that is because they feel the pressure to win.

Fred,
The only reason you think its a generous ranking is because your number one glendora is out and your feel a little stupid right about now.

Rosemead was a sleeper they weren't ranked because the year before opening game they got smashed by LA remember that game could have been a 100-0.

Fred Look at this board and who BH has wins over LA, SD, Aquinas and a 2-1 loss to your beloved Glendora. I believe you would call that a bigger picture.

Don't be coy you knew what you were doing "Don't get upset Bearcats."

Look, my polls are more accurate than CIF. In my polls, I actually see most if not all the teams play. Remember last year's football polls, Rosemead wasn't even ranked most of the season in the Mid-Valley poll, which was a joke. In baseball, Arcadia and St. Francis are ranked in Division II, but there are no teams from the Sierra league, which is a joke also.

Lets talk about that for a minuts.
Now if LA was ranked #4 by the same CIF poll would you be saying generous' I think not

Now if LA was ranked number 4 in your respected tribune poll and they beat lets say number one Glendora I would put money on it that LA the following week would be your one an only NUMERO UNO!
YOUR HONOR THE DEFENSE RESTS.

you got me

Man, how get you be sooo upset over that comment. Relax, I just think it's a generous ranking.

Freds Qoute"
and Bonita has a generous No. 4 in Division III. Don't get upset Bearcats, just being honest"

Since were on the topic of being honest lets talk about how far your head is up the G mans' A$$ you can probably tell us how his colon is doing right about now. Just being honest"

Fred,
In my own wicked sense of reasoning I am finally proud you. Posting a topic of this is funny your starting to think like a reporter and journalist(about time). Look at the leagues that most of these players come from with exception of the two charter oak freshmen which is impressive I might add. These stats are so padded with non competitive games its ridiculous but I commend you for successfully getting a rise out of me and the rest of the SGV softball community. We can only hope that you continue with this direction of inquisitive journalistic reporting.

thanks

Fred, that is Flores from Sierra Vista.

Fred,
you missed Brittney Flores. BA .524 11-21, 3 Homeruns.
