Softball Poll: Nothing changes at the top, Glendora, Los Altos, Bonita are top three by far

Girls Softball top ten rankings
1. Glendora (16-2) - After sweeping Division III's No. 7 Chino Hills and moving to a perfect 6-0 in the Sierra League, the Tartans were so impressive they still didn't make the Div. III top ten poll. At least we got it right.
2. Los Altos (17-6) - With its huge win at Bonita to all but wrap up another Miramonte League title, the Conquerors seemed prim for a playoff run. Beating Mater Dei will do that to your confidence.
3. Bonita (17-4-1) - There is nothing for the Bearcats to feel bad about after last week's loss to the Conquerors. They have done well in tournaments, and will be a hard out when the playoffs begin.
4. San Dimas (17-4) - The Valle Vista isn't what it was last year, except for the Saints. The problem is they have lost to Glendora, Bonita, Los Altos and St. Lucy's. They do not have a win on their resume worth bragging about, but you look at their pitching and lineup and know that they're capable.
5. South El Monte (14-6) - The Eagles now have a full two-game lead in the Mission Valley League and are running away with it. If you like numbers, check out all-everything Reina Gaber's numbers: Batting .619 with 23 RBIs, 7 homers, 8 doubles and three triples. In the circle she has a 0.75 ERA, with 126 strikeouts.
6. Bishop Amat (13-12) - A tough loss last week to St. Joseph, but they remain in third in the tough Del Rey and should get a playoff spot. But that first round playoff game is looking tougher by the week.
7. Sierra Vista (16-3) - They keep on keeping on, and now with pitcher Brittney Flores back in the circle, the Dons have to be dealt with.
8. Northview (12-7) - The Vikings have won four straight to take over second by themselves in the VVL, but lets see how they do with a big test at San Dimas on Friday.
9. South Hills (12-6) - A huge sweep over Walnut last week has turned the San Antonio into a wild-race to the finish, with four teams separated by a game in the loss column.
10. West Covina (11-9) - The Bulldogs surged into the lead in the San Antonio with a win over Walnut last week, and continue to swing the bat as well as anyone.

Fred- I was wondering if you had a list of players(seniors)from Scott at South Hill's that will be representing there team for the All-Star Softball game that's being held at Mt.Sac and who is in your mind should be on the list..

Just want to say good luck to LA against DR..I believe that LA should win out with there regular schedule and win there 4th straight Miramonte League title..I know "don't count your chickens before they hatch" but hey LA is on a roll and hope they take into CIF..Good luck to Bonita as well as they will face Wilson, and keep there momentum going into CIF hope there defense is working hard as I'm sure they are..

With an unspectacular W, West Covina seems to be the front runner in the SAL... but, a W is a W. Rowland getting one (W) from South Hills makes the league standing a tad more defined. Making the final week of league play... WC vs SH a very tense match up. The rivalry continues...

Nice to see West Covina on the radar... With South Hills being their final two games of league play, should be interesting to see how they hold up. South Hills seems to have found momentum and I don't see them slowing down. And I wouldn't give up too soon on Walnut either, after a tough week (three losses in a row), they will be coming back full force to reclaim their spot on top of San Antonio. None-the-less, when the dust settles should be exciting to see who will be left standing atop of Mt SAL...
