There was a huge gathering at last year’s Glendora tournament championship between Northview and Bishop Amat. Northview won then, and went on to win the Division IV title. Bishop Amat went on to win its second consecutive Division V title. They have not met this season, but the banter continues. If they finish 1 & 2 in the Division IV polls, they could only meet in the championship game. If that game came to fruition, it would be the most anticipated Valley championship since who? Someone told me that Covina’s 10-7 win over Northview in the 1979 final at Angels Stadium was the biggest area championship ever. Are there others that come to mind?
