What will it take for the Glendora High School softball team to get some respect? Seriously now

Why is everyone on the fence with Glendora?

The CIF-Southern Section Division III softball polls are unexplainable. I’m sorry, but unlike our silly Tribune polls, these polls are used to rank teams for the playoffs. Where is Glendora? This was funny a few weeks ago when they played just one game in a month’s time, but what’s the excuse now? For a school that advanced to a championship game last year, this poll is difficult to understand. Is this politics as usual?

Just Released, May 4, Division III – 1. Oaks Christian, 2. Tesoro, 3. Cajon, 4. Crescenta Valley, 5. Summit, 6. Patriot, 7. Chino Hills, 8. Ayala, 9. Los Altos, 10. Bonita. Others: Alemany, Righetti and Downey. Note even a mention of Glendora.

The argument: Glendora is 16-2 and 6-0 in the Sierra League. The Tartans swept Chino Hills last week (4-0 and 5-3), and Chino Hills is still No. 7! Glendora beat Bonita without its best pitcher, 2-1, and Bonita is No. 10! Glendora captured the Charter Oak tournament and lost to Division II’s No. 6 Etiwanda in the championship of the San Dimas tourney. They split with Upland, ranked No. 5 in Division II. They also beat Bishop Amat and San Dimas rather easily. I thought the pollsters were being unfair to Rosemead football in the fall, but this may be the most ridiculous poll ever. This is taking forever to get right.
