Baseball thread: The Shocker, St. Paul knocks off defending champion Northview; Bishop Amat rallies in the 7th, Bonita, San Dimas, Los Altos, South Hills all win

Bishop Amat wins: The Lancers trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the 7th and scored eight runs to take a 9-2 lead over La Habra, then hung on for a 9-5 victory.
Bonita wins: Trailing 2-0 early, the Bearcats cruise, beat Alhambra 9-2 to get South Hills next.
South Hills wins: Don't know anything except they beat Hemet, 7-5
Los Altos wins: The Conquerors did it again, shocks Santa Monica, 3-1.
San Dimas wins: Saints beat Sonora 4-0, Josh Leyland hit two run homer and Salcido goes the distance to get shutout.

Both of you kids get a life! Talk all the crap you want once you get signed!!!! POP OFF
Impartail Observer
Is "he"?
Are "any" of us?
Golden Rule, you need to re-read what I said because it's not negative in any way, shape or form and instead, offered words of wisdom. Listen to what I said...confidence is an inner peace versus arrogance which is beating on one’s chest, bragging, pointing fingers or running off at the mouth or calling other people out. Take a minute to look in the mirror and examine what you are...confident or arrogant??? I've done it and been guilty of both so I'm a work in process. Are you?
Impartial Observer...observe the rule and rise above your petty need to be negative. That's why the Rule is Golden and not "tin".
Ka..pesh ??
i like amats pride
i love in wrestling after a kid wins his match
all the parents yell amat ,,its cool
If St. Paul and Bishop Amat would've been in Division 4 last year they would have faced each other for sure. Amat was better last year than this year. Northview would've made the semis. For everyone who knocked the Del Rey League, take a look at Covina, Ganesha and Pomona. Those were guaranteed blowouts for Northview and San Dimas. But San Dimas turned out to be the tougher of the two.
NV Props, I never said the Golden Rule of sportsmanship is ever “null and void”, and, instead, that if one chooses to ignore it then they must be prepared to bear the criticism that will come when they fail (i.e. not win a CIF title), which is going to happen more times then not. I have nothing to do with NV but I know some of the kids that play on the team so I watched them play two CIF games last year and they were arrogant and attempted to intimidate their opponents but the difference is that they won the title which caused folks to be quiet…but they never forgot. Confidence and an arrogant attitude are two different animals...confidence is an inner peace and arrogance is beating on one’s chest that we’re better than you are. Coaches control the kids so it’s clear that this unnecessary attitude reflects their leadership. We are what we are and nothing will ever change unless we use criticism to examine our failings and then change for the best or else be prepared to face the reality of people kicking you when you fail. You may want to check the score again…St. Paul beat NV on the FIELD not on a blog.
Joke is on You,
No the joke is on you!!! I was at the game, and your the only one thats making it racial. Just like you said the game was delayed, if he was up there getting ready because he is the lead off batter, then why was he not taking extra swings with the bat, or taking advantage of the extra time to get his team ready? Instead he chose to stand out there pointing at the opposing teams dugout, laughing, making dumb comments, walking over to the side closest to the ST. Paul dugout and pounding his chest as he is facing the St Paul players that are in the dugout getting ready to take the field.
You say College coaches with knowledge would love to have a kid like this on a team, give me a brake. There is a difference between a leader and a SHOWBOAT, and as a so called jc coach if you don't know this, then maybe your in the wrong line of work. If he is so talented, then why didn't he make that catch in center field? If he would of played it correctly, and used his speed to get to the spot first, instead of diving (SHOWBOATING) he would have made the play and not cost his team 2 runs. When he came to the plate what did he do? NOTHING, he got hit by a pitch (if you want to call it that), he grounded into a double play to end the inning, then he struck out to end the game.
There might be a reason why he wears that elbow guard don't you think. You probably didnt see that neither right? But your the one scouting him and we are all racist bigots for being observant.
and just where is mr. jones going to play next year? i don't think he has the grades to play at any university? he is and always has been a showboat.
The only joke is on all of you that are talking nonsense about Jones from NV. I was there yesterday scouting the game (coach from a jc) and the game was 10-15 min. late because of plate area being wrong and national anthem etc. Jones is NV's leadoff hitter and was out front ready to go before the delay. He said nothing at all to the other team or demonstrated unruly behavior at all. This kid competes and time and time again, coaches and scouts with knowledge talk about wanting a kid like this on their team. I hate to say this, but those are racial stereotypes you have with him because of his race. It has to be because he did nothing yesterday to disgrace himself or Northview. Northview lost, that's it. Stop pointing fingers at bs stuff. I'll take this kid anytime.
As soon as you said #1 acting cocky at NV game I knew who you were talking about! CF Jones has not changed since little league. Too bad all the players get judged on this attitude. His parents should have stopped this years ago and taught him to be a leader not a loser. NV has had a good run and they should be proud - most are great kids that love the game but everyone has a bad day....timing is everything.
Green and Gold, "you all were schooled" ?...country grammar?
We can't win with you guys!
"WOW" wonders where the Damien love is, and when SpartanFan brings it, "Reality" spits on it.
The Spartans know who they are, and what they are, and we are one proud school. Maybe we just don't have to sell it on here as much as others do.
Frankly, sometimes reading this is so darned amusing, between all the bickering & bashing and the grammar mistakes, I sometimes wonder where you all were schooled!
Enjoy your sports - be proud of your son/daughter/team/school, and stop bashing others. It really doesn't make you a bigger person.
bearcat aulli.
football team always competes.i asked my son, plays on the team last season.
he said there on the small size, but lots of speed.
the Q.B both are big boys, the senior has some kind of arm deal or shoulder, but hes doing good
on the baseball team.
the other is a tall 6-5 or 6-4 junior.hes getting better every snap. couple kids on denfence should have soild years..
soild kicking game.if d keeps us close, maybe a deep field goal to win it ..
but lets not look over are heads
charter oak comes to play ever game.
first things first, one game at a time
who that helps k.h.
To. Ken H.
Ken you seem to know alot about Bonita baseball. However can you tell me how the football team shapes up/ I have moved away from the area and am wondering how my beloved Bearcats will do this year. Do they have a QB to take over the Podley air attack?
Spartan Fan why weren't you there to support the team? Because you new the game was a lock !
NV fans dont ever write on the blog again. your seasons done and over. Fred should only allow sportsmanship on the blog not the usual northview CF jones smack talking. kids a joke. talks smack and look what happens.
thats that.
Hey Reality!
Holy smokes, the Spartans have done everything they have had to do. We finished league a little shaky, but with lazer like focus Leyva has brought the boys back to life. That is a coaching job well done. With regards to being handed something in CIF, you are completely out of your FRICKIN mind. Wake up! What has happened is that the eleven seniors have stepped up and they refuse to lose. It has nothing to do with anyone giving us anything. I speak highly of Leyva because it is the right thing to do and because being negative gets us no where. When was the last time that Damien was in the quarter finals. This is not all because of Leyva it is because of student/athletes like Matt Whitehouse, Mark Garcia, Raymond Ortega, Ethan Betance, Chris Delfs, Josh Herrera, Brandon Madueno, Justin Lamasus, Nathan Vargas, Brandon Montalvo, and Max Marquez. If you are truly of the Spartan nation you would understand. I am a father that is proud of his son, of the school he attends and of the coach. As for our CIF opponents, I must thank the Sierra League. The Sierra has two teams in the quarters and that is because playing in the Sierra is like playing in CIF all season. Chino Hills and Damien were well groomed in the Sierra. Listen, if you are one of us then celebrate and praise the student/athletes and the coaching staff, don't nit pik and pretend to be what you are not. Damien will be prepared on Friday and Leyva will put the ball in another senior hand, Mark Garcia, and he will do what he has done all season, give 100%. Reality, whether you or I are or aren't there does not matter, the only thing that matters is that there will be a Damien baseball team and coaching staff there to win a game.
GO Damien!!
I have been reading these baseball blogs for some time now, and just couldn't resist finally saying something. It seems as though it's the people (parents) on this blog that make the kids look bad. Anyone could be posting the blame on players. How do we know that it's actually a NV parent saying these negative things about this boy who is ineligible? How does anyone know it's a NV parent blaming certain kids for their errors, or lack of hitting? Anyone can post on this blog. It seems that some people use this blog as a way to divide teams.
Isn't it bad enough that there are players who have to deal with the humiliation of lack of grades and suspension? Now people will go on this blog to air that out! Did no one stop to think about the affects it could have on this kid?! WOW! Some of you are a piece of work.
Last I heard, baseball is a team sport. You lose as a team and you win as a team. If indeed one player behaved inappropriately prior to the start of the game, then that's on that one player. Did any of the 4 NV players who were beaned by pitches say anything? I didn't hear anything. Were some of them hit intentionally, maybe maybe not. I would hope not. That is not appropriate behavior either. What is the difference between talking trash and hitting a batter? That means that the trash talker and the two SP pitchers are on the exact same level. One is not better than the other.
I saw the NV catcher attempt to take charge of his team as they continued to falter defensively. I think that's a sign that they, as a team, were bearing the burden of the coming reality that this could be their last game. I saw players who looked like they were carrying the burden of their errors. One could say that if NV had hit the ball the outcome would have been different. It's easy to put our two cents in. The reality is that our opinions of would have, should have and could have won't ever change the outcome of a game. The loss is that of the team, not the parents. The win by SP was the win of the team, not the parents.
So many of you write on this blog as if you played some role in the result of the game. I saw young high school men out on the field, not parents. Allow the boys of these two teams to either enjoy their win, or reflect on their loss without all the hateful comments. What are you teaching your boys? Talk of sportsmanship is a mute point as long as the trash talking continues. These boys are still kids, and we need to remember that no one is infallible. We make mistakes, that is part of life.
Congratulations to the winners at St Paul, and to Northview on their success this season!!!
Posting numbers dont sell your kids. Look at Amat. They have had and do have kids with good numbers and look what it got them. Thier coach has done NOTHING for anyone the past three years. Mavireck already had a scholorship to UCI before that coach came aboard and Eusabio (LMU)got his when played for the La Cresenta coach in the summer who help him get where he is at today. The next year Tommy Reyes and Jorden Fox got one to UCI but both of these kids could of went anywhere without the help of Nieto. Then you have Mistone (3 Year Starter) who's numbers were just as good as the Tom and Jordans who has to walk on at UC Riverside. This year you have Brady Zuniga who is going to UNLV and Paul (The Animal) Piaz going to USD not becuase of thier head coach but because they played for the SGV ARSENAL. Guess the head coach does not know as many peaple as he thought.
Joe, how exactly is the Charter Oak coach, as well as the Northview coach, helping to market his team by not posting stats? Amat posts their stats. If these are such great baseball schools why no stats? Makes your school look bad from outsiders looking in.
Anonymously That sure is funny
wasn't si ripping you a couple weeks ago?
lol I hope you make your SOFTBALL GAME on friday
impartial observer...when does the "Golden Rule" become null and void?
It's that why it's the Golden Rule?
It never ceases to amaze me why bloggers who bring up the Sportsmanship angle can't follow thru with it on their own.
Is it that they get to pick and chose when Sportsmanship begins and ends?
That's not being a Sportsman...that's being a punk.
What NV does is on them...what "you" say or do ...is on you!
Nice run NV...funny but no one said you guys lacked class last year..why is that?
Maybe some of your fallen opponents believe it's easier to "beat" you on the "blog" than it is on the field. BTW what NV's record against the almighty San Dimas Saints over the past FOUR YEARS!
'nuff said!
well just say i hope gym teacher murphy is happy what he taught these kids about baseball how to cheat on certain kids grades he likes, and how to bring kids from other areas to stack a team whom they do not live in covina, and cheat kids who try everyday at practice and dont play them all season thats teaching them. but that sorry man got what he deserves. nothing!!!!!!
Finger Pointer...
Who are these stud players from Charter Oak that you think are getting screwed because there coaches don't post stats... Do you think that college coaches dont know who the good players are and only look at stats?
Tell me who these players are that are getting screwed
You Northview fans are quite funny. You boast all year on how great you are and then throw your own players under the bus when you can't advance past the second round. From an outsiders point of view it's hard to know who the best players are since your coach doesn't seem to care enough to post stats? That must really help in getting players recruited. Must be something in the Covina water since Charter Oak is the same way. Do your players a favor and post some stats. And quit throwing your own players under the bus and realize that you're good because you're in a 2 team league.
Remember the old saying Defense Wins Championships? If Northview knew how to play defense they'd move on to play for a championship. But against teams other than Covina, Pomona, Ganesha they just couldn't cut the pressure and lost. Just be glad Amat and St. Paul weren't in your division the last two seasons. Cue the overrated chants.
All we've heard all year long is how great Northview is. "They're better than Amat, they should just be given the title." It was mentioned earlier that if they're so good they shouldn't be making so many errors. At least they should be good enough to overcome them. It's weak to blame your own players who didn't play. Blame the weak league you're in. This wasn't Pomona, Ganesha or Covina for that matter. I'd be curious to know how many errors the team had this year but it seems your classless coach doesn't post stats on max preps. Perhaps Northview wouldn't have even finished third in the Del Rey. We'll never know.
Does anybody know who pitched for Charter Oak? Are they legit or just getting by? I know my Lancaster team does not want to play them in the Semi's...
Hey Spartan Fan,
you guys were basicalley handed a spot into the quarters. Trust me, I was there and that Dos Pueblos team was not any good. Now that's not to say Damien is not feeling confident and playing good ball, but don't get beyond yourself. Some teams in CIF just get a path blazed for them, and this is what has happened so far. And believe me I want them to win too. But you have to be realistic. Even our first round opponent was not a true #4 seed. We still have 3 tough games to go. Please, one more thing Spartan, quit embarrasing all of us Spartans with your Leyva comments every post. Coach Al and Coach Kevin have done a good job first year and we're watching intently to see what transpires with the program, but please stop with every one of your posts listing wonderful Leyva. Leyva this, Leyva that. Its not realistic, you must be related, or Leyva yourself??
Congratulations to the AMAT baseball team on their victory. Good job men , way to stick to it and stay in the game and keep your eyes on the prize. As for this AMAT nation poster now all can see the what kind of ignorance we the faithful have been going up against. There is absolutely no place for this in our FAMILY.As far as his AMAT being the number 1 team in the valley there are far too many great teams in the SGV for any one team to be considered number 1 .That's what makes our SGV brand of baseball so great regardless of what those oc jackasses think. NV congratulations on your season it was well played. Congratulations to all SGV teams win or lose. One important issue concerning losing eligibility due to low grades . You always read on here of parents transfering their children to get the most benefit out of their athletic prowness or to play for a winning program to get that almighty scholarship to D1 and on to the majors. Maybe this will be a wake up call to them that prowness in the classroom is equally important because if you can't cut in the classroom you can't step on the playing field. Love a viking, you write you don't like to call out players then bam you call out the players who you feel let the team down. These are high school kids no need to bash them at this point. I am sure they feel bad enough as it is .This is a team sport . You win as a team and you lose as a team . Show some class in losing and take it like a true winner .Be thankful for a great season and that all the players got through it without major injuries.
To Frank C.
Sorry about your Mustangs but I know your proud of them.
who made what UP?
I should have figured some nv mom popping off again
still love a viking said:
To quote a famous Amat faithful, on any given day any good team can beat any good team. No whining, no excuses but St. Paul did not beat Northview. Northview sucked on defense with 3 huge errors, and left too many runners on while in scoring position. Can't win a ball game like that and do not even deserve too.
5 UNEARNED RUNS.. Northview beat Northview. i do not like to call out any players but hey Ruben Ramirez we sure could have used you in right field, thanks for letting your whole team down. And Arnold, we sure could have used your bat. I hope you two realize the damage you caused your team.
I Guess I MADE THIS UP?
May 26, 2009 9:49 PM
Damien wins!! 20-3
Yeah that may be old news by now but it sure sounds good. I agree with Wow, Matt Whitehouse had a spectacular game and Antonio Gonzales and Brian Martin did a great job of closing out. It is good to see underclassmen like Gonzales (10), Martin (11) and Guillen (11) getting time on the mound during the play-offs. Leyva did a masterful job and the boys played their hearts out. Sparta is proud of you. Congrats to all of the local teams that won yesterday. Stay healthy and God Bless.
GO Damien!!
For those out there who do not know why Northview is taking a whipping in this blog it is because the players (who are a reflection of the coaching staff) and some (not all) fans do talk way, way, way too much trash and this arrogance and lack of respect for their opponents just lends itself to people wanting to kick them in the a** when they lose. My expereience is that the fans that talk trash never played the game, which is why they don't get it. But, there is no excuse for the players to not respect their opponents...it's called sportsmanship. The lesson to be learned for all is to respect your opponents and be gracious in winning. If you just can't follow this golden rule, then be prepared to grab your ankles when you lose.
I have to tell you that I feel somehow cheated over the whole thing.
I mean, it's like the Lakers and thier quest for a championship. Would have winning it this year (against the dreaded Celtics) made it more of a sweater victory than if they end up winning the whole thing against even a good (but not great) Orlando team ?
It's the same analogy.
A victory over Northview in the championship game would have been so much better than a win against the slime. And to tell you the truth, in almost any other instance, an Amat victory against St Paul would be nothing to sneeze at.
But not this time.
BTW, I know right about now there are allot of folks out there with thier chests puffed out talking allot of crap towards the Northview faithful, however, "Amat family" said it best and perhaps it should be restated here, because I could not have put it any better:
"Amat has more class than to disrespect a great program and former Champion.....The Amat Family would like to congratulate the Northview program, players, family and fans on a great season and an even greater run."
Very classy, and well written !
Congratulations Northview, on a great season.
Great job today AMAT PLAYERS. Way to keep the season alive! let's keep it going!!! One game at a time.
This Los Altos team is starting to look a lil like the '05 Los Altos team
just guessing that AMAT was trailing going into the top of the 7th, not the bottom, they were the visitors, great job sending out the obit writers to that game, lol
Hey Poet
Keep picking them...
Great Job....
You had it...
La Habra...
Oh... High school ball...
It's 7 innings, not 6...
To All You None Believers....
Del Rey League...????
Not so WEAK...!!!!!

Luca Out...
SD BASEBALL RULES,
Don't make up crap about nv fans blaming rj or another player for the loss. I don't know what you're talking about with rj, I dind't see or hear anyone say that today and I was at the game, he didn't factor into the final score by a positive or negative. NV fans love RJ and what he has done for NV, so don't go saying we blaming him for nothing.
ATTN: NV Fans, don't let bloggers here come between us and our closeness with the kids. That's what makes us who we are and part of why we're successful, so let's stick together and not let one random blogger here tear our boys down or each other.
I'm sorry, but Ramirez and Banuelos did let their team down today. Could the two have made a difference today? Absolutely. No guarantees that they win because they play, but take out two starters right before the playoffs and think it won't hurt NV or any program? These are kids that aren't being ripped for failing in a tough situation during the game. They didn't get a 2.0 in the classroom. That's pathetic and they did hurt the team. I'm not a Northview parent, but I have seen this team play the last few years and know how tough it is to win cif games with a full squad let alone two key pieces missing. St. Paul won the game. It's over, but this should be a valuable lesson to those two boys. It's not just about you, it's about the team and if you play, you're making a commitment to the TEAM.
And i'm a SAN Dimas FAN sticking up for a northview KID.
YOU nv fans are the best.
the only pathetic thing is nv LOSING in the 2nd round....
what happened to the come back kids?? come back cokers??
some 3 time chump (champ)? and the best you have is to blame your best player??
RJ is the only plyer ive seen on that team that dosen't brag talk**** not a dame thing and you DUCKS call him out and say its his fault??
WoW what class .
NOW stop crying go to bed and wait and wait till next year LOSER.
And thats not intened to nv plyers!!!!
well not next year because 4 ,5 of your best plyers are gone baby gone...............
Northview Baseball,
We still love you, we are still so proud. Don't let one, albeit crucial, loss take away from all of your team's accomplishments. We have enjoyed every bit of the ride. You are a fantastic group of kids, incredible athletes with great coaches and great fan support. Enjoy and don't forget all the great memories you have created for us fans. Be proud and YES I am a NV Mom and darn proud. Coach Murphy and staff - we thank you for everything.
san dimas choker - answer the questions..
CIF RING -- NEVER
LEAGUE CHAMPS -- BEEN A LONG TIME and why, cause NV trounced your sorry butts 90% of the time.
SO LOVING ALL YOUR HATE, JUST PROVES YOU CANNOT GET OVER NV BEATING YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN. WHAT WAS YOUR CIF STANDING THE LAST FEW YEARS?
NOW GIPS AND KIDS -- GO TO BED, IT'S A SCHOOL NIGHT.
Thanks Joe. I guess Fred was too busy sniffing Andy's crotch to get the story correct.
Yes, that sounds familiar. On any given day any good team can beat any good team.No need to make excuses that "we lost it" because that just means the other guy won it. Whoever makes plays when plays are needed survive and advance...Playoffs are a bear - thrill of victory/agony of defeat. Some good teams went home today. Other good teams are left. 8 of them in DIV for sure. It's going to be tough for any of them. Great teams, great coaches, and a legend are left standing.
Since everyone knew Amat was on the road and the VISITING team, it's obvious that Amat, down 2-1, scored 8 in the TOP of the 7th to take a 9-2 lead and held on as La Habra scored 3 in the BOTTOM of the 7th.
One last question... did Damien miss the extra point?
SAN DIMAS BASEBALL RULES;
You sound pathetic! Get off the board with your silly remarks, Are you a little 9th grader happy to be in high school? Here's a tip, keep your mouth closed! What goes a round comes a round and be ready to take it!
Fred:
Leyland is a stud. Best hitter in the valley..
Another Bomb today..
POY hands DOWN!
what does northview and ricky hatton have in common???????
KNOCKED OUT IN the 2nd Round !!!!!!
hahhahahhahaahahhahahah
How did Amat score 8 in the bottom of the last inning and still have to hold on to win?
Oh, I get it. Fred is just sucking off Amat again. Drama Queen. Get off your knees once in a while.
wow. damien wins 20-3 and no love on the blog. sad. they are going all the way. this damien team can't be beat. so proud of you boys. keep up the good work. Whitehouse kicked some serious butt today and their two other pitchers were just as good. nicely stacked damien. See you on the field crespi on Friday, home turf!
sd choker
give it UP exit to the left 2nd round CHUMP.(champ) LMAO
No matter what YOU got KNOCKED THE ****out in the 2nd Round !!! hatton!!!! lolololo
san dimas win a ring then pop off - wait, win a league title then pop off, wait - what has your playoff record been the last three years? again let me repeat, we make no excuses - we choked today but you know that feeling all to well. come on gips, really now.
I would like to congratulate the Northview program to EXIT TO THE LEFT .
Amat Nation doesn't exist. Poser alert!
Amat has more class than to disrespect a great program and former Champion. This is what passes for a Bishop Amat supporter these days.
The Amat Family would like to congratulate the Northview program, players, family and fans on a great season and an even greater run.
Don't listen to posers like Amat Nation, they don't speak for anyone but themselves.
looks like we are still in it buddy???
hahhahahahahahahahahahahahha
I guess i wont hear from any nv DUCKS season is OVER!!!!!!!!
sd choker dont be mad cuz your kid rides the bench. LMAO
2nd round WoW
You can say all day long that Northview beat Northview.
But you can also say all day long that good teams don't commit so many erros and choke under pressure.
Isn't there a word for that..oh yeah it's called DENIAL.
Bishop Amat wins: The Lancers trailed 2-1 going into the bottom of the 7th and scored eight runs to take a 9-2 lead over La Habra, then hung on for a 9-5 victory.
This nonsense is confusing. If Amat scored enough runs to take the lead in the bottom of the last inning they win, right? Why did they need to hang on? What really happened?
Funny how all the excuses are appearing now from the Northview Crybabies. LOL Pointing the fingers at kids, if this would've, could've, should've. Please spare us the excuses bottom line SP won, no matter how many unearned runs or errors occurred. All of Northviews' runs were also unearned. What does this say the better team won and you guys are now at home crying, wawawa! SP executed when it counted and you didn't oh well, better luck next year. Amat #1 team in the area now, no doubt. Have a nice summer NV!
is that nv mom?????
choke? choke ? but never in the 2nd round???
hahahahhahahhahahahhhahahhah
san dimas baseball you must be RJ's girlfriend. classy broad. as i said, no excuses and no whining we choked today. i still understand your hate though, let it go, 2nd place is ok.
where are all the Regan bashers?
san dimas bandwagoners are the best
win it all regan and have the bashers come on here and either praise the job you did or say teh players did it in spite of you.
can't win for losing
Their YOU are, I was waiting for YOU(still love a viking).
Here comes the crying hahahahahahhahahahhahahaha
How many free runs did SDHS give you cry babies???(in all 3 games)?
put the blame on RJ,hahahahhahahahahhahahhahaha RJ carried nv the last two years NO CRYING their???
GOOD LUCK TO RJ shows what class nv fans have.
To SanDimas baseball -- We understand the hate, got to be a tough pill to swallow again - coming in second to NV AGAIN. AS YOU KNOW THE FEELING ALL TO WELL, WE CHOKED TODAY. There it is, you feel better? What a loser you are to come here and make a cheap a** comment, but again like I said, we understand your bitterness. All your chokes errr losses must still be eating at you. I will do the right thing though and wish San Dimas luck, a lot of good kids on that team. The coach sucks but good kids overall.
That is so week to blame Ramirez for the loss. If you know Ruben you would know that no one feels worst than he does right now. Great teams find ways to overcome errors. Amat had 3 errors today and still found a way to scratch and claw their way to the victory.
Good Job San Dimas................
Wish I could have seen SD NV #4
I saw the Northview-St. Paul game firsthand and hats off to St. Paul for getting big outs when they needed to, but that game was a complete giveaway by Northview. I counted 5 errors and possibly 5 unearned runs. I had seen that team play some of the best defense I've seen in years past and today, it just wasn't there for some reason. I think St Paul had 3 or 4 hits total. The flyball in RF in the first inning was personally the play of the game in my opinion. If that ball is caught, which it should've been, that changes the outcome dramatically. I overheard a father saying that Northview has an awesome right fielder that was ineligble because of academics. Anything can happen in one game elimination. Good luck to St. Paul and the rest of the SGV.

Where are the NV faithful???
So sorry the season ends on such a sour note.
Maybe next year - San Dimas Rules!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations to the LA Conquerors. Way to keep the run alive. 6 in a row and counting. Seniors stepped up in a big way today. Ro. Blagg complete game with 1 earned run, Ra Blagg takes T. Skaggs yard, and Carrillo goes 2 for 3 with a big insurance rbi in the 7th. The Miramonte League is alive and well. Good luck to all.
CO 6 Palmdale 1
Wish Amat didn't play in that crappy Del Rey and played in a real tough league like the Valle Vista.
This come from behind win might springboard Amat to the finals. La Habra pitcher Christian Salinas was dirty. He struck out 12 or 13 batters. He had the best changeup I've ever seen at the high school level. Amat hitters were out on their front foot the whole game. Brady Zuniga was also effective on the mound. He threw only one bad pitch and it was hit for a homerun. The ball was a routine flyball at most yards but it just had enough to leave La Habra. JJ Martinez and Nick Bergara were the offensive heroes for the Lancers.
Any score on the charter oak palmdale game... come on somebody has to have it
For all the talk of how good this Northview team was, I didnt see it. All I saw was a SHOWBOAT (#1) that walked over to home plate before the game started, and began taunting the St Paul Baseball team. In my observations, this set the tone of the game. For all the B.S. this particular player was talking, and all the antics he was doing, he failed to back it up. First he missed a fly ball in center that allowed two runs to score. At the plate he was not any better, he was hit by a pitch (possibly intentionally) , and he struck out to end the game. If this is what Northview Baseball is about, then they got what they deserved. For all the Sh.. talkers that were talking about how weak the Del Rey League is, Bishop Amat and St Paul are still there, and they both played in that weak Division V Championship last year. It might happen again this year, but in Division lV.
anjy score on the charter oak palmdale game
Thanks, Green&Gold
St. Paul's pitching got the job done. Despite getting in trouble in almost every inning they were able to basically shut down the meat of the Northview order. There were way too many runners left on base and way too many strikeouts with runners in scoring position. Most of the damage from both offenses came from walks, hit batters and errors, then just a few key hits. St Paul was able to capitalize and get runners across. St Paul coaching made some good calls stealing and hitting and running to force the issue and in made a difference as those runners were able to cross the plate whereas Northview continually missed those opportunities. Pedroza and Ruvalcabra didn't get the defense they've been accustomed to all season and that's what made the difference in the end.
Damien won, 20 - 3.
What's the latest score on Sierra Vista? Anybody know?
In D3, #1 Beckman beat La Serna 2-0 in a well played game for both teams. Beckman is a solid team, but not overpowering. Reminds me of South Hills' team last year.
What happened to La Habra? Had it and choked. Sad. I'd predicted this would be the upset.
I guess this means Northview would have finished 3rd in the Del Rey League !!! Give credit to a scrappy St Paul Team. Rockhounds n da House !!!!
Who was the DUCK who said cover SDHS softball team???
I think they meant nv softball???

Post the Damien final as soon as you have it please. Winner will play Crespi, which beat Pacifica, 2-1, in a very good game. Tying run, on a sac fly, eliminated on an appeal at 3rd.
