Good Luck to both Amat and SDHS on Friday, as I am sure the Valley would enjoy a Saint vs Lancer Semi-Final game.
And Yes I am a BoHi Grad...but you do not have to let the Dark Side of any Rivarles get to you!

Looks like baseball season could be interesting in the new Sierra League next year. 4 of those teams sitting in the quarters right now.

FJC (Bearcat 21),

Our school is the CIF FIVE Defending Champ, so we moved up to Division FOUR with the Valle Vista League. Northview is the defending Division FOUR CIF Champ - and they remained in Division FOUR.

Aaron, The CIF-SS rule is that the team with fewer home games at that point in the playoffs gets to be at home. If both teams have had equal home games, its then decided by coin flip, which are are now conducted before the playoffs

Fred,
I have been reading the Blogs of late, and all I can say is,
Egos, Egos, Egos, Smack, Smack, Smack!
Why all of the Hate? Instead of praising someone for an honest opinion, it's all seems to be about egos. If someone has been there, why do we discount his experiences? It may not be your High School Player future result and or outcome, but let’s be Honest. Too many Parents think their Johnny or Mary is a “Bonus Baby” and get piss off at the Varsity Coaches when their son who was an early Bloomer during his younger days and always made the All Star Team, does not even make or Start on their High School Varsity Team. Many High Schools now have to have meeting with incoming freshman player’s parents to make them aware of this, and of their High School Code of Conduct for parents.
When has it ever been any different? From Little League, to High School, to JC, to 4 year Colleges, to the Minor Leagues, and all the way to the Big Show in the Majors. Each Step has fewer and fewer slots, and each level has always weeded out the best from the previous levels, until the Big Show. Even the Big Show has their Elite Level player, in the All Star Game and the Election of Players to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.
Too many High School and College Athletics leave for the pros when they should take the 4 year College Scholarship road, which still is not a guarantee of a starting position, but at least they can learn a skill or a profession to help them in the future. I wish all of those who pursue their dreams the best of luck, but knowing all of the facts will only allow the athletics and their parents make the correct choice or at least help their son or daughter make a more informed choice about THEIR FUTURE.
Hell I have seen two adults want to get into a fight over their opinion on a play at the plate, as to whether the runner was safe or out, and if the umpire made the correct call. We’re just fans in the stands out to support our High School’s Players and they want to fight! Oh Brother!
As far as Joe Amat, your school is the CIF IV Defending Champ, so why haven’t you been moved up to Davison III with the rest of the Valley.
Perhaps once again we could have a SG Valley Tournament during Easter or “Spring” Recess where the best in the Valley could all meet for bragging Right of the Valley. The Former Pomona Elks Tournament was once a very prestigious Tournament to Win, that that allowed the Valley High School Baseball Fan a chance to see the Best in the Valley.
Good Luck to the all of SGV Team this Friday!
Go Bearcats, Beat the Huskies!

On CO vs. Beckman, while indicative of a team's "class", past records don't mean a whole lot in a win or go home game in the third round of playoffs. I suspect that all these games will be very competitive. Go SGV baseball.

It is gyp not jip. As for who is Beckman? Let your fingers do the walking on your computer past this blog. Good luck to all the East Valley teams. Great performances so far.

Aaron, a coin flip determines home games in playoffs if both teams had home or away games the previous game. Props go out to Ken Huth for his insightful contributions to this blog. Go KC!!!

did Amat refuse to put up a fence? hence the game is at Rio Hondo.......joe amat this is a question for you.....btw it was 40 years ago that Amat first played St. Paul for the CIF AAA championship, Amat won 2-1 at Cerritos College....leading up to the monuments in centerfield for O'Connor and Estrada!

are you talking about Beckman or Bishop Amat?

too easy.

Did a little research on Beckman. They have a lofty 24-4 record and a NO. 1 seed in Div.III, however, 14 of those wins have come against teams that have a combined record of 47-131, including two teams from their own league that combined for a 2-28 conference record. Not trying to dis anyone here because they have put together a nice run but the competition they've been up against for the better part of the season is less than top notch!

someone explain to me how Bonita has an away game.

Amat will shine...you must not follow Amat to closely as the Amat and St. Paul played each other for the CIF title last year.

AMAT WILL SHINE,
That spounds like a Joe AMAT question to me.

joe said:

Who are the Charter Oak players you think are getting "jiped"... Do college coaches not know about good high school players if their stats are not posted?

Beckman said:

Beckman is 24-4. One of those losses was 6-3 to South Hills. This team has won 13 of their last 14. Both teams have something in common. They jip their players by not posting stats.

joe said:

Who is this Beckman team? Where are they from... never heard of them? How does Charter Oak match up against them?

Has Amat and St. Paul ever played for title baseball game?? Aside from league? Wouldn't that be a game!
