You guys really know how to write a blog! This was extremely helpful. Thank you vey much.
Im trying to start my own blog, so ive been searching and this is the best one if seen so far, Great Job!!!
Thanks for all the info, your blog is extremely helpful.
Still a dickface. Haha!
Read 'em and weep.
At least I still have my number one fan. $$$$$$$$$$$ read them and weep!
I agree. Frank is an a$$hole.
Brad ...see no harm no foul...your rule does apply. You should have taken heed as well....are any of teh "jokes" things "you said?
NO...exactly...so how did I offend you?
When did "i" call you an A whole?
Fly Solo, if one leads with the disclaimer "No Offense" but then follows it with a comment such as you're a stupid a-hole, then its still an insult. With that said, if you were joking and I took it wrong then my apologies. I still think my list is something that we all should consider (especially Rule 3) before the crazy thoughts pass from the brain through the testosterone (sometimes the brain gets left out) and then to the keyboard.
Brad...I started the comment by stating..."NO OFFNSE TO YOU" and then went on to comment, jokingly, about a blogger phenomenon that takes place.
I could care less what your point was. You're right, you were getting slammed by "others"...or so you said...and I made a joke.
Sorry you took it the wrong way. Never said you said any of those things. Never siad you weren't entitled to say or do anything on here...ever. Never tried to "set you straight". Enjoy the blog.
IN THE KNOW..."you" again...did they drop yet? Back to reduce the blog ....yet again.....jack yourself off this time around and knock yourself out...you were exposed already for what you are and more importantly what you're not.
I agree with Brad.
Brad,
Don't you know IBBF aka Frank C cannot possibly live with rule 3. No personal opinion or interesting information . This guy is all about his ego and his life stories or his great days on the gridiron both playing and coaching. If it's not about him it has no interest to him . You say you've been reading for awhile then you should know better. As far as ignoring posts , that is beyond his ego's ability for he is all knowing and must set you abd all bloggers straight in the world according to FC .
IBBF, it is called a real conversation...if something doesn't interest you then feel free to ignore it. It looks like you need to start your own blog...here's a list of some rules to consider: (1) "Pro" bloggers only...if you haven't been blogging for over 5 years then stay away (2) Lower case letters not allowed...MUST ONLY USE CAPITALS (3) No personal opinions or interesting information allowed...must stick to providing inane comments about how stupid the other bloggers are (4) Must use the rules and vernacular from the "Jungle" or "you're out". Just think, with these rules it will be just you and your homies swapping spit and you won't be bothered by the morons of the world (and we won't have to listen to you).
BRAD NO OFFENSE BUT WHY IS IT THAT BLOGGERS COME ON HERE AND SAY THESE THINGS!!!
FIRST TIME BLOGGER ...LONG TIME READER
NEVER EVER BLOGGED...BUT
DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT THE BLOG...BUT THEN SOME ONE MENTION IT ..SOOO...
I DON'T VEN OWN A COMPUTER
I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO TURN ONE ON
MY WIFE BLOGS BUT I DON'T
I IGNORE THE BLOG...BUT I HAD TO SAY SOMETHING...ON...
COACH TOLD US NOT TO BLOG...BUTTTTTT...
I PROMISED MYSELF....I WOULDN'T ...BUTTTTTTT
I NEVER BLOG...BUT I KNOW EVERYTHING THAT GOES ON... (THAT ONE IS USUALLY IN PERSON OR IN THE STANDS)
BLOGGING IS RIDICULOUS...FROM WHAT I'VE READ
DON'T THOSE PEOPEL HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO?
I READ THEM FROM TIME TO TIME BUT AFTER THREE YEARS...HERE GOES...
DUDE I'M EXHAUSTED AND I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN THRU HALF TEH LIST????
;-)
Shut up Dickface!
Amat 73, actually I've been reading Fred's blog page for a couple of years but only recently started posting. I believe that on another blog Joe Amat offered the solution which I endorse of individual sports being slotted in different leagues according to their competitive level. As I've previously said on this blog, I've seen Amat's baseball team play this year and they are a solid D3 team...my humble opinion is they lack the pitching staff depth to compete with the powerhouse D1 teams. I watched and coached against several of the Amat players during their youth and I sincerely wish them and their team luck as young men. I have a kid that's an underclassman at Charter Oak so I can appreciate schools not wanting to play football teams which is why the CIF is punishing all their sports programs by moving them into the Sierra league where they will be stuck competing (mostly losing) against schools that are substantially larger in terms of enrollment.
Might want to look into your fascination with my "Richard".
Wow, your mom must have been bragging again. She ever tell you why they call you "Bud"?
Next time you throw down a "Long Neck" think about how much you have in common with your mommy.
Drink you...she did !!!!
Some people never learn.
Shut up Canales!
Brad,
I think maybe this D-1 thing got started off by some miss reading . Just a fan wrote his only complaint is that AMAT should be D-1 and not D-4. I believe he one of many who have complained endlessly that we have no business in D-5 where we were and now D-4. We are not the ones who put this forth everytime we get near a championship or win one in baseball. The feeling of the SGV is we belong in D-1 in baseball and yes we as AMAT would like to be there weather we belong or not we like to be at the top . Since you are rather new to the blog just look back in the archives at last baseball season and see what posters were saying about our pink rings and we need to be in D-1 . Funny thing is that in football they were saying we had no business being in D-1. Where would they like us in D-7 , D-2 where . This was after our 2 seasons under the previous coach . After a few games and some great wins we started getting the knock that we had no business scheduling local teams because we were being a big bad bully and had no business playing teams of lower divisons. Look it up it is all there in print. As you will see we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I think you are picking the argument with the wrong people . You are correct in that it has been along time since we have won a football title but it has also been along time since we've had the type coaching staff we have now . Now we did compete for the title or come close in some of those 14 years just not recently until now. I know getting knocked out in the first round is nothing to brag about but the eventual champion knocked us out and not by much.So in finishing I do believe we are on our way back to the top in football but as in life only time will tell.
Joe Amat, it is amazing how things get blown out of proportion. I merely pointed out the failings of an Amat blogger's comment who argued that they are a D1 baseball team and next thing you and others are accusing me of being some kind of stupid, misinformed, Amat hater. The truth of the matter is that the league Amat plays in doesn't affect my life one way or another. Oh, by the way, leagues and CIF divisions are not mutually exclusive so leagues do matter. And, reality is that Amat last won a football title 14 years ago which is not a bias but, instead, is a fact. So how good is Millikan...they went 10-1 in league and 9-9 outside? Please listen to yourself, your blogs are arrogant and condescending with a hint of defensive paranoia which is why others routinely refer to you as a know it all...lighten up. And Joe, when are you going to respond to the "cubforonelancerfortwo" post? I for one would like to read it. Finally, the lion analogies are really lame as humans (at least the ones that I hang with) don't eat their young and hump their moms.
onlyatAmat said:
by the looks of his spelling I would say its a typical stolen recruit from the surrounding hood.Shame on BA for letting him skate through and get to his senior year.
I guess we will have to wait for little one to here the bell but I thought both were great and well said.
Poser alert and 09
If you bothered to read my post I did open up with if indeed you really are a Lancer. What part of that didn't you understand. As far as being an old Lion ( note spelling ) did you also know that in a pride when the old ones know there is a bad element in the pride they injure them and leave them for the buzzards. Why do you think you do not see very many lions with the large manes. You have a lot to still learn in your young life. Be careful were you tread little one. As for being a grad the school year is still in process and by the looks of his spelling he might not make it to the stage where ever he attends school.
So '09, a former legendary Amat coach used to say, If you listen you might learn" So sit down my young pup and listen.
A shepherd once trapped a lion's cub and reared him with the rest of his flock. The cub, judging himself by those he saw around him, lived and moved just like the sheep and lambs, content with the grass they nibbled and with the weak bleats they emitted. And so time sped on until one day, another older lion - the King, saw the growing cub grazing with the rest of the flock. Being older and wiser, he knew what had happened and young pitying the cub, he went up to him, drew him to the side of a quiet stream, made him look at his reflection, the King's own reflection and, turning back, let forth a mighty roar. The cub, now understanding his true potential, did likewise and his former companions fled before him. He was at last free to enjoy his rightful place and henceforward roamed about as a king of the forest.
He was only able to reach his potential because of those that came before him. For that - you are welcome.
Class dismissed.
Amat09- dude... it's "Lion" not "Lyon"
Joe Amat,Amat 73,brad
Hey sounds like the youngster put the stymie on the old cats LoL are you having trouble with reality looks like you have a spoon full of sht in your mouth.

That is a classic obviously another old Lyon who used to listen to Madonna hey strike pose for us.
POSER ALERT!!!!
AMAT 73...IT NEVER CEASES TO AMZE ME HOW STUPID SOME PEOPEL ARE!!!
HE IS NOT AN AMAT GRAD!!!!
ANY ONE WHO WENT TO BISHOP AMAT WOULD KNOW BETTER
THIS IS A POSER
LOOK AT THE LEVEL OF DISRESPECT AND OBVIOUS LACK OF CHARACTER
AMAT 73...YOU WERE HAD
KH - please come back. At least you amuse us...this Amat stuff is boring
I have to be quick so pay attention.
Apparently my plan worked I will thank the father this afternoon. You all seem to be on the same side now and have one true thing in common your age.The story goes like this life is like a pride of Lyons you have the old and wise ones with there big manes who run the pride but you see before you know it the young and stronger Lyons come in chase the old guys out devourer there youngsters and mate with there wives the moral of the story is your the old Lyons lol.In other words don't tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AMAT 09
A word of advise to a young Lancer if indeed you are a Lancer. When you use AMAT in your blog name you are representing all of the current and past Lancers who have had the privilege to attend AMAT. Your post shows a great lack of maturity and total disregard for your elders and in your later years you will find if you continue like that you will be considered a smart ass spoiled brat from AMAT. Remember your teachings in life and when you do post follow the creed of Goodness ,Discipline and Knowledge . I know it a little tough on here when people come on here blasting AMAT with no backing other that spite for our school, as we have all gotten a bit off track once or twice , but don't add fuel to their fire by posting something to the effect that you just did. God willing you will grow old and maybe be blessed with grandchildren ( it is a wonderful club ) so be careful you will be one us one day and you will be telling the stories of the good old days of $6.00 dollar lattes at Starbucks . By the way it would have been priviledge to have played with the great Glenn MR INSIDE Davis .
First Brad... that was a GREAT message to 09 and I'm disappointed that he has not recognized that what he has is a result of those that came before him. He must be a product of the "Amat Nation" folks that infiltrated for a short period of time... and are back on their way out . Thanks for putting him in his place.
But Bradley, you have to understand. Some want me to keep the posts to a paragraph and you want me to systematically go through and answer everybody's thoughts point-by-point. Like My Friend said a week ago..."One day I'm a know it all... the next day someone wants to know the skinny on something specific." You can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time... well, you get the picture.
I started with answering your post because it was the one most rooted in bias and feelings with little to no facts to back it up. Just what you "think". cubby actually had a bit of knowledge behind what he was saying other than your,
"IwenttoseeabuddyplaywhenAmatwasreallygoodbutnowaycouldtheycompetewiththeTempleCityRamsyadayadayada"
You see, Bradley, much of what cubby was saying supports exactly what I've been writing- so actually, I appreciate the backup, with a couple twists. Maybe you can point those differences out for me. cubby says (as I did) we were not welcome in the new Trinity league. What's new there? Amat/Loyola were in the football only Serra league. Amats choice to remain in the Del Rey league in other sports (as Loyola competed in the Mission League in other sports) was a function of a couple things - maybe cubby can support (or refute) this one with some knowledge he probably has too. Even cubby can't think decisions on any level are made because of Track, Tennis & Golf... do you?Basketball (both girls and boys) is a different beast. TEAMS enter playoffs individually - NOT as leagues. Playing in a "D1" league has no effect on what division you are in.. . it is all enrollment based (save for two ill-fated years that CIF succumbed to some pressure) So even if Amat remained in the Serra League, the "league" is not a factor in winning a CIF championship. We still would have dropped to our appropriate enrollment division... just like every other school in CIF. But you knew that ... didn't you Bradley?
The "Association" format really IS the most logical of arrangements, the way of the future, and provides competitive equity in all sports. Schools that play in the Camino Del Rey Association (as it was being formed) proposed that the Serra schools join in the rotation - in all sports. Truth be told it was Gary McNight at Mater Dei (a basketball power) that shot the idea down.. not because fo Amat - but at the time Bishop Montgomery may have given them a run for their money in basketball. It was HE who said "Playoffs are enrollment based - league doesn't matter." Bradley, go and ask someone who was there. Maybe cubby knows (quick quiz... who was the last school to SWEEP Mater Dei boys basketball in league? You bet I know! Now tell me the year) So it was then that the Orange County Nepotism Act was first conceived.
Heres more truth, Bradley. Prior to that time it was actually Santa Margarita who began to throw a monkey wrench in the whole releagueing thing with travel concerns... not Amat. We all know who the Principal at SM was at that time... don't we Lancers. South OC all the way to LP... on a Friday... before toll roads. That fight is what shook the old Angelus/Serra League and sent the OC Privates out of the Parochial Area and into various public school leagues. It was then that the proverbial $#!+ hit the fan. OC publics revolted. That sent teams scrambling and created the chaos that you see today.
You see, Bradley, your bias and your feelings come through loud and clear. Ask Orange Lutheran and Crespi how "toothless" this dog is? Or look up some comparative football scores among your rough and tough area schools that would not be worried about us entering their league. Maybe you want to bark up the baseball tree. The Lancers are 3-0 vs the Trinity League and beat OLu, Santa Margarita and Servite - all who have beat Mater Dei, SM beat #2seed JSerra AND MD beat #3seed CapoValley. FACTS say we might fare pretty well there - wouldn't you say? Wins over Millikan and Lakewood (with 20 & 19 wins respectively, whether you respect them or not) say we'd do alright too. But I know you FEEL otherwise - don'tcha Bradley?
So Bradley, you can justify why you wouldn't pay tuition (that happens to be one of the least expensive, along with Damien, of all private schools - NOT overpriced) to be a Lancer by saying we're livin' in the past and are just another program.... but facts say otherwise. And I'm still waiting for you to find one of those posts from "inappropriately-boisterous" fans that are making all these outrageous claims of superiority. (inappropriate would be *not based in facts*... kind like your statements)
Get back to me.. wouldja. (BTW... Game 1 was rockin' and getting in and out of LA was a zoo. LA Live was like Times Square! Thanks for asking)
Good luck to all East SGV teams and may there be an All SGV final!
Amat09,
I know that you are probably just a kid, but you are a very disrespectful one and are probably in need of a lonnnngggg overdue butt whipping. I sure hope that your parents are not actually paying for your Amat education and if they are, well it does not seem to be working based on your writing skills.......u kno wht i meen..lol....u here wht im saying..lol....u pikin up wht im setn dwn..lol....u undrstnd wht im tlkn bout..lol.......cell phones may just be the dimise of our youngsters communication skills, oh and not enough butt whippings.
Your Friend,
The Strict Dad
Amat 09, you don't own a garage. Tell the truth that its your baby bib that your OLD momma is saving in your OLD daddy's garage. I am surprised that you can read a newspaper as most of your contemporaries spend their time watching mindless videos on Youtube with one hand on a bong. Your lack of respect for anyone or anything that is not your age or exactly like you will take you straight to hell. Suggestions, don't tattoo "f@$%" across your knuckles (I hope its not too late), get a college degree, a real job, raise a few kids, bury your parents and then you'll have the perspective to actually speak to the grandpa's of the world. Until them, please shut up.

I just realized that you guys are some old a$$ mother fkhers lol you guys must of played with a guy by the name of Glenn Davis lol.I have a bib and a wheel chair in the garage I can take you to the Damien Games this year lol.fn old farts get a life go dye that gray out or do some lawn bowling or whatever the gimpy cronies do these days.Better yet how about you tell us a story of what it was like before the internet and freeways lol.Oh wait one more tell us about the days when thrifty ice cream was a nickel lol.Ok enough already see you later grandpas............................
Ken I have a idea for you why dont you just make up a fake name and bash every man, woman and child like everyone else does .I did not realize all the folks on the blogs were so perfect if this is truly your last blog I will miss you .See you at the field Im the guy who has perfect kids, has never mispelled a word, never had too much to drink and just enjoys a good baseball game like you dont let the mean guys keep you down just drop your name an you can be perfect too!!!!
kh, brad and others who are either uninformed or misinformed, Amat was winning CIF championships in football, long before Patrick Haden and John McKay JR(in the fall of 1967) 1A in 62, 2A in 63...and Hitchcock would have never had the stones to play Amat, ever! btw kh, Cris Jakaboukas is an Upland kid, not Diamond Bar.just so you know! lol maybe you should put the king cobra back in the fridge!
AMAT 73, my mind reading skills are on the fritz so I didn't know that the "73" actually stands for the year that you graduated from the school. My bad. Had friends whose older siblings attended Amat and it was a CIF game plus Haden and McKay were really special. Oh, the good old days when Amat was truly a football powerhouse and not the toothless barking dog that they have been for the past few years. Reminds me that I once was great too.
Joe Amat, you can't be taken serious in that instead of responding to "cubforonelancerfortwo" you chose to attack me as hiding behind his opinion. Is his/her opinion right? If it is then you are full of hot air. As to my post, the reality is that I simply responded to the adsurd argument that the Amat baseball team could compete at the D1 level and pointed out that there is a lack of PUBLIC evidence that their administrators have ever asked to move up out of D4. I do realize that the leaguing process is complex but certainly no one, including the CIF, believes that Amat's baseball team belongs in D1. As I said, they are a great D4 team that belongs in D3. Oh, my Haden to McKay wasn't meant to pertain to you as from reading your blogs I long assumed that you have witnessed every event in Amat's 50 year history.
Brad,
Please take a good look at my post . AMAT 73 . You are 75 . Haden and McKay class of 71 . Do you think I saw them play. Evidently whoever took you to see them knew who to go see play back in the day. Do yourself a favor and ask them this . Why did you take me to see AMAT when TC was so much closer to Monrovia ?
Brad,
Wrong on that one too. I can assure you that I've been among Pat & JK up close and personal - so you're barking up the wrong tree on that one.. but you may be new to the board so I'll cut you some slack. However I won't let you off the hook that easy.. go ahead and defend your last post without hiding behind the "others already have" excuse... and what "others" were they that said anything of substance?
I hope Kenny didn't leave us for good, I was going to ask him why he thought that Hitchock never scheduled the Lancers back in that era? I've never been able to get a straight answer. I suspect it had something to do with some "border wars" over the athletes when Mission High School closed. I'm guessing there was some animosity when Sciarra and the boys came over.
Like I said.. get back to me. I'll check back much later.... have some things to do "downtown"!
Joe Amat, looks like some other folks already put their foot up your orifice so there's not any room left for mine. Ken, here's a suggestion that will allow us to keep entertained by you without your being annoyed...just ignore all the bloggers and blogs that contain the four letter word "Amat." God bless you. Ken, I'm a Monrovia High Alum class of 1975 and I remember the run that Temple City High had in football during this era...these Amat guys are either too young or are ignorant of the sports programs that once existed at TC High. They also know the legend of Haden to McKay but unlike myself, they never actually saw them play in person.
I would say to do your boss a favor and stay off the board until you get off work. Then you can take time to read it instead of sneaking a peak when the big guy isn't looking.
If I say NEVER, EVER... I'm pretty certain it will be NEVER, EVER.
Trust me.
Joe Amat,
For all of us blue collar hard working Americans can you please keep your comments to a single paragraph you see we have to actually work for a living.Since you are the expert in "everything" something you should have learned a long time ago and that is you never say never. We now have a minority president so things are changing and will continue to.The old school BA is long and gone and before you know the long drives to the OC will be gone as well.
GHS,
How many pro baseball cards do you have with your picture on it? I think not 0) we know the old ghs story so eat sht and ? you know the rest, as for kh he may have found the lord but I am still searching.Keep looking over that shoulder its a lonely weary road being that self ignorant.
You are forgiven my son. It is a good thing that I know all because I am probably the only one to understand your last post . But in the end don't go away mad , just get educated. One thing before you leave , how will TC fair in the up coming baseball playoffs.
P.S.
You should know I am a bit partial to Amat .
boy i openned a can of worms for myself.you guys are mean to me .
didnt say i dont like amat...
all i said is every things is about amat..

Joey...did you have a recent talk with the Monsignor? A little cranky are we?
Oh, the famous.."perception is reality"....we get allot of that over here at Damien, Joey I went back and read my "smoking gun" post that caused so much trouble years ago. Seems I made a few recommendations about our JV team at the time...you know...the old fashioned concept of grooming underclassmen for their eventual Varsity positions after seeing Morrison "prepare" for a playoof game against Temescal Canyon" using select JV players as tackling dumbies...(Joey, not kidding...the JV team was cranking out 5 and 8 yards a pop! Talk about cryptic!!! LMAO) The key player that day was a JV TE that was looking like a young JOHN RIGGINS and teraing up the Varsity in a system the JV team was taught ion 20 minutes???? ...he never switched to RB full time...what a waste of talent! Anyways.
I thought of reposting it and seeing the Dads/Players reaction ...but what's the point? Every player evaluation was spot on, every player who should have switched positions and didn't was a bust, every player who tried to hang on to a position he wasn't qualified to play...didn't see much of any action,...and when he did play ...he was horrible, seldom used players stepped up their senior year and over used players quit, "over rated" players, at least that was my opinion at the time, turned out to be just that...over rated. So many "perceived" Morrison loyalists stabbed "him" in the back, so many "perceived" classy parents made fools of themselves in the stands or parking lots, and so many "puffed up" Dads had to eat crow as their kids either quit, complained all season long or sat all season behind hungier underclassmen, and then to top it all off..."they" would come on here and chew me a new one saying outrageous comments as if my "perceptions" had anything to to with what happened on the field (their reality?
I like your tried and true, time tested comment..."reality as reality".
Here's another one Joey.."toughest league in CIF" will play 3 WC games today. I'm not a baseball man but that doesn't sound right Joey? I hope everyone wins but will "throwing the wins in my face" change the "reality" that CIF looks at the Sierra League "reality" of previous playoff performances as a measuring stick? 'show me don't tell me"..isn't that the saying?
Maybe I will re-post the comment just to show "reality" doesn't change ...perceptions do.
The same old yarns keep spinning from the misinformed.
Amat was asked to stay in the OC (old) Serra league for all teams, that's right, all teams.
Football, baseball, wrestling, soccer, volleyball, softball all wanted to remain because the league was competitive and that's where Amat belongs. CC, Track, tennis, golf wanted out of the OC Serra because they did not win a meet/match in four years. And basketball, that's right, girls and boys basketball wanted to remain in the Del Rey, they did not want to move in to the OC Serra league with the rest of the major sports. There's the overlooked road block.
Amat & Loyola were not invited to join the new Trinity league and only had one option to fall back on -Camino Del Rey Association for Amat. Loyola went in the other direction --Mission League.
Travel to the OC as an excuse for Amat not to play in the league is outright false, the travel to Bishop Montgomery, St. Monica, St. Bernards is just as far...same for Notre Dame, Alemany & Crespi.
Back during releauging the course of action was "it does not matter what division your in, all that matters is that you win championships." By the way that's the new Charter Oak motto, any coincidence?
So the benefits have been reaped by a few sports wrestling, baseball in particular and girls' basketball strung together some winning seasons, until they were moved up to the DIAA & A playoff bracket. The price of being the big fish in the small pond.
This policy course has remained intact and it will not change, that is why the non conference schedule of baseball, wrestling, softball, volleyball, soccer is against OC schools, and other DI caliber schools and the school is stuck in the DV, DIV, DIII, or DII playoffs for sports other than FB.
It is what it is.
JOE,
Loved that last line although it might be early enough in the day for kh to be able to comprehend your post on his own.
Brad,
I realize that "perception is reality" but shouldn't "reality be reality"? That seems to be lost on bloggers here quite often.
1st, please go find some of those "inappropriately boisterous" Amat fans and reprint their posts. Get back to me.
Next, you are absolutely kidding yourself if you think ANY of the local public leagues would accept Amat (should Amat even desire to do that) ... and there has NEVER been a request to be accepted into the Sierra League(I realize you, Brad, didn't make that claim). However to do so does not point to anything except the desire to be in a private school league competing against other private schools. To do so(move into a public school league) Amat would first have to ask to be removed from the *Parochial Area* and placed in the Mt San Antonio - which would NEVER, EVER would happen... or even be considered for a second
. There's an archived article in the LA Times that I've posted here a couple times during a previous releaguing cycle that quotes opposing Principals saying that Amat/Loyola refuse to play any lower than D1 in football, which was putting strain on the entire releaguing process. As has been stated - entire leagues go in to playoff divisions as a whole. That limits a schools placement. Geography pays a huge role in that process - and essentially you have the San Fernando Valley schools (The Mission League) and the OC schools. Amat would compete in both of those leagues quite favorably. It's also been discussed here (ad nauseum) how the Trinity League was formed (and who won that league the last year Amat was in it!)
This most recent releaguing in the SGV took an unbelievably long time, went to appeal and has yet to be ruled on. How long do you think that process would have taken had the Lancers been in that mix. you would have had to lock the Principals in a room with no food & water until they made a decision to get that one done. And we might have lost a few administrators during the process. All you have to do is ask the OC folks what it was like when Mater Dei, Servite, and Santa Margarita went into OC public school leagues. Certain districts now boycott playing those schools - even in the preseason- and it is what ultimately created the Trinity League.
So really... base your statements on reality. When a statement has to start with "... instead, the lack of this points to the conclusion that..." generally that statement is coming out of the wrong orifice. Stick to statements based on facts... not how you feel. I know that hurts.
(KH... have someone read this to you too)
Said, you do know that "leagues" don't accept or deny which shools are in or out and, instead, the area school administrators get together and decide with the CIF officials having the final say so. The fact is that there is no public evidence that the powers at Amat asked to be promoted to a higher league and, instead, the lack of this points to the conclusion that they were content to compete in D-4. And, the other D-4 schools were not pushing for Amat to be elevated which they certainly could have done if they felt a competitive inequity, so the D-4 schools are not exactly scared to play Amat. The reality is that the Amat of the past is not the present day Amat...Hayden to McKay happened a long, long, long time ago. Why wouldn't the present day Sierra or Baseline leagues accept a team that lost in the Glendora Tourney to the weak Miramonte league team Diamond Ranch and also had to come back on an average Charter Oak via errors after trailing big early? I got a thousand clams that says no team from either the Moore or Trinity wins CIF...wanna bet? And AMAT 73, you may want to read what I said again as I never said that Amat is a bad team, in fact, I indicated the opposite saying that they are a "great Div IV baseball school." Perhaps you need to address your pal "Said" who is the horse that is making asinine comments that they are a D-1 school. The reality is that Amat is a very competitive D-3 baseball program which begs the question of why does the CIF allow you to be in D-4? Anyhow, I do not have a bone to pick with Amat as a school but do take issue with some of their fans who are inappropriately boisterous and only wish them and the rest of the SGV teams the best of luck in the playoffs.
Brad,
Evidently AMAT is not the school for your kids in your opinion. Why not leave it at that instead of trying to convince others ( and maybe yourself ) how bad AMAT is . So what if we are great D-4 team . So be it . If every now and then we choose to challenge ourselves and play some of the big boys of D-1 or D-2 that's AMAT being AMAT . We always stive to be the best and for that you must play the best. Hey last year we went from D-5 to now D-4. Maybe if we are fortunate enough to win a third title in row we will be moved to D-3 . As for this KH person I don't care how much about baseball he knows and if he even played in the minors or majors he sound like a sour grape old pro who jacked up his own career and now feels he can pass his misery on to whoever he feels deserves it. What is your problem with AMAT and why continue beating a dead horse on the D-1 issue. If you are so all knowing on the subject of baseball I am sure you could contribute some keen positive insight on the up coming playoffs instead of continued assault on AMAT. How do you see your beloved TC Rams doing in the playoffs. Start by critiqing what you feel are their chances of winning a championship . Could it be that because we are in the same division is the real reason for your rath towards AMAT.
Brad,
First of all. Amat played the top three Moore league teams that are traditionally strong. They played 3 Trinity league team that were in the tournament. You make it sound so easy to move up a division. It not so easy to just move a team up a division. You have to move the entire league. Where would Amat move to? Plus the league would have to be willing to accept you. Amat did at one time tried to get into the Sierra league but the league refused and made it cleat they would never accept them. Do you think the Baseline league would accept them? So get over whatever you are going through and get it off your chest it will not change any situation. They start a freshman, four sophomores and 1 jr. on the field and lose only one pitcher.
To justify the tuition for an overpriced education, if I had a kid at Amat I would also keep lying to myself that the school has a top-notch baseball program. Other than girl’s basketball, Amat is simply not anything near a powerhouse in any sport. Before one brags about their record, take a look at the Div 1 baseball doormats that Amat played starting with the Trinity League's Orange Lutheran, Servite and Santa Margarita as well as the crappy Moore League's Millikan (11-1 in league but only 9-9 non-league) and Lakewood. None of these teams are going to get a sniff of a CIF D-1 title which is exactly where Amat would fall if they were in Div 1. We all know that lately CIF has been re-leaguing so if they felt slighted as a Div IV school why didn't Amat lobby for a higher ranking and lobby for acceptance into a higher league such as the Baseline or Sierra? Bravado on blogs doesn't translate to reality. Amat, I've seen you play and you are what you are...a great Div IV baseball school that would do ok in D-3, would get beat consistenly by the D-2 schools and would get killed by the good D-1 schools.
its all good we all northview will pull it off and beat bishop in the finals.
kh has forgotten more about baseball than 99% of the people on this blog know. give me a break
Ken Huth

AZTECS!
Walnut just went 1 and 7. How did they make it in to CIF. Sound like Hoff is at it again. I am so glad I am in the OC now. To my friend at Walnut good luck.
Parents and players, this is a reminder that Jack Renkins a national spokesperson on the recruiting process will speak at Diamond Ranch HS on Tuesday at 7:00 in the gym. This event is for all athletes, male and female, from all schools. This meeting is to help inform parents and players the realities of the recruiting process. There is not a catch and the cost is free. Diamond Ranch and coach Layton do not receive any monetary or any other benefits for hosting this event. Simply, they decided to host the even so they no longer need to travel out of the area to get the information. The presentation will begin at 7 and last about one hour. We suggest showing up a little early for good seats and bring a notepad for notes.

ken huth,
Have you ever thought of taking an English class at night school . Your posts make no sense at all. You come over as if you on your second 40 of King Cobra. Either get off the sauce or get back to school. I guess you were to busy in the gym during high school when you should have been in class.
Ken,
Why are you bring up such things as the Amat division? This has been debated and combed many times and is old news. When the Trinity league was formed the OC schools did not want to travel this far and there was no other place to put them. Who won the league in D1 just before Amat got sent packing...Amat did. And if you say it was Nieto's idea your are off base..It was already in place when Kendrena was about the leave. Now let it go. Amat has played more D1 schools outside of their league schedule than any other school in the SGV. Amat played 7 schools in D1 this year. So give it a rest already.

Baseball is Booooooooooooooooring ........ Lets get to football.
Ken,
I heard that you are the agent for Hideki Irabu, the former Yankee who is trying to make a comeback in the Western Baseball League. Is this true? Who are the other players that you are representing?
Just curious

Edgewood??? geesh, you must be old!
kids having fun. sorry to tell you but this blog has all the parents that dont even think of the word (fun).sad, but true, just about everything in here is who is the better coach, player, team, the most college bound kids.but i will tell you, if there is a feel-good story out there Fred gets it in here.by the way, Fred is an Edgewood allum also.so dont feel bad being an oldie in here.
K.H.
Where have you been for the whole year? You're spouting the same blah, blah, blah that was already hashed and re-hashed months ago...Obviously you're one of those who refuses to believe that "open enrollment" applies to everyone and Amat get's the unfair blah,blah,blah,blah....If parents don't want to pony up the $$$ for there kids to attend "any" private school. then they have the option of sending them to "ANY" other school that suits their academic and sports needs. Just because your old HS doesnt come to mind when they make those decisions, doesn't mean that the "Private" schools are "Cheating?" Maybe your old HS just doesn't measure up??? Believe me, Amat Alumni and the Amat faithful alike, all cannot wait for the day that the Bishop Amat Baseball program RETURNS to Div I where they rightfully belong! Now let's see those playoff pairings!!!!!
Ooops - I guess I need to put my Edgewood education to good use (LOL)...editing comment....**One OF my favorite nephews, even!** New to this blogging stuff....sorry.
Heyyy ! I LOVE that picture - Although I'm a little partial as that is one my favorite nephews !! Kids having fun - that is what it's ALL about !
Nice spelling there KH. Bishop Amat played in that OC tournament last year. They also won the championship which is why there is a picture there. My only complaint is that Bishop Amat should not be in Division 4 they should be in Division 1.
great. another pitcher of the great b.a. team.
fred release the moster and try useing the other hand.
so many things to write about. why dont you break down the teams in the top 10
catchers
pitchers
outfielders
strengh off the bench
bull pins left ,right
give us some thing to read about, besides
b.a. team
fred dont you think,if you where a coach and had no boundarys.or limits of where you can recruit
your players from..i know you still have to win the game.
but its like playing texas holden
starting every hand with a pair of aces.
tough to beat.and most of your oppents fold every hand dealt to them.its like trying to beat the sgv.allstar team .if they where that good, then why didnt they show up in the championship game at the glendora trouney.
fred how come they didnt play in the big o.c. trounry like n.v. did.
or if they did, i didnt read much about it.
next year bonita will rep. local area.
lets keep it real write about local coaches who have to coach with the hands there dealt..thats old school poker..
stop playing black jack.
you like the dealer
slipping yourself cards..
lets get writing brother.
