Unfortunately, the organizers of the Valle Vista league swim meet did not call in the scores but props have to be given to the San Dimas boys Swim Team who won the event for the first time in recent history. FYI - We compete against Maranatha in this sport as well as Covina (with a great team this year), Northview, and Baldwin Park. Nice job in both the Medley Relay and 400 Relay for the team of Scott Jones, Cody Moore, Henry Sheih, and Michael Wells who set league records with their wins as well as the individual performances of Cody Moore in the 100 Back, Henry Sheih in the 100 Fly, Michael Wells in the 100 Free and Scott Jones with an amazing 5:12 in the 500 Free. And to the rest of the team who stepped up and set an amazing number of personal bests this week. Look for the relay team in both races at CIF on Tuesday and personal performances by Scott in the 100 Breast and 500 Free, Cody in the 100 Back and the 200 Free, and Henry in the IM and 100 Fly. Girls also did an excellent job and were led by Freshman Danielle Hebert who is carrying on the Hebert tradition at SDHS.

LP;

I don't know what your trying to say here, but bottom line AZUSA is the League Champions. Say what you want say, but your coach lost last Thursday, even with Jacoby. How can you say are coach is not as good as yours? That's ridiculous, when he just won the league two years in row. Come on now you don't make sense here, and one man doesn.t win the League.

LP get off Jacobys leg, you continue to promote him and your not getting it,he didn't win the league for LP. Yes, he's fast i'll give you that. But AZUSA won as A team in other events. Your saying we didn't win any events last Thursday, come on now! Final points AZUSA 80-50, and AZUSA'S girls won also! Also your going a little to far saying he was "jogging", yeah right! I was their and he was running hard to win every race.

LP you keep banging your warrior drum, because it's not going to get you the 2009 MONTVIEW LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP. You'll have too wait until next year.

Props to all of the Valle Vista League track and field athletes after great performances at the league finals at Baldwin Park's beautiful track on Thursday. Special congratulations to the SDHS girls 4x100m relay team (Taylor Jackson, Erika Kalmar, Keyonna Arnwine, and Shannon McKee)who won in a time of 49.83 with a great come-from-behind anchor leg run by Shannon McKee. The SDHS girls 4x400m relay team (Shannon McKee, Katherine Salcido, Breyonna Arnwine, and Erika Kalmar) also won. Individual winners included Katherine Salcido (100m hurdles), Shannon McKee (100m and 200m), Erika Kalmar and Breyonna Arnwine (1st and 2nd in the 400m), and Ashley Burchfield (shot put). Garett Smith won the shot put.

SDHS' Katherine Salcido was a very close second in the high jump, and Taylor Jackson was second in both the 100m and 200m. Diana Ulibarri was second in the 3200m, Brian Hilpert was 3rd in the 400m, Jesse Rodriguez was third in the 800m, Michael Thompson was 2nd in both hurdle events, and Garett Smith was 3rd in discus. Great job, Saints!

It was a very well-run meet, at a beautiful facility. Congratulations to all of the athletes and the coaches for a job well done.

BUt that all that Azusa can show so far a back to back remeber Lp had a 4 year running undefeated for men and a five year run for the women and all good things got to come to an end and the good teams do come back and rebuild. just keep that in mind Aztec Pride. Look at the team LP had this year and what Azusa had. Azusa had more athletes this year. All the good athlete Lp had took thier events like Jacoby wont the 300 and still came back and won the 200 against Azusa and he joged the 300 and that tells you something. Oh they dont even have a good coach i bet if they had a good coach they would be a better team and Rauley would be a better jumper as well. well enough said. good luck to you guys in C.I.F

LP, BASSETT 75;

You can have your individual league records! But remember this, Track is also a team effort and even though you had your fastest sprinters at last Thursday's track meet for the LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP, my friends LP lost the meet and AZUSA was crowned the LEAGUE CHAMPIONS.

Remember this they don't hang up individual records in the gyms walls, they put up LEAGUE TITLES!

AZUSA BACK TO BACK TRACK LEAGUE CHAMPS! I know it hurts too read that, but you go ahead and keep putting up your solo records up, because that's all you can say!

Like I said the LP boys proved who is king of the sprints in League winning the 4x100 easily, 1-3 in the 100m 2,3,4 in 200m, 1 in 300IH along with other events won, in the 4x100 Azusa was DQ for not being in same uniform Mr.Aztec Pride was mad at the officals but his anger should have been towards his own head coach & runners this C.I.F. rule has been in place for years LP would have won anyway by at least 2 seconds.
Watch LP's sprinters and Triple Jumper at C.I.F. next week. I'm from Bassett but I follow LP track, they have the best Head Coach and because he's a Bassett graduate leading them with 12 League championships in 15 years.

Today was a good day. Edward Bonilla won the triple with a jump of 45'3 mark. Jacoby won the 100m and the 300 hurdles and took 2dn in the 200 but the 300 and the 200 were back to back races. The guys of Lp won the 4x100 relays and has a 5 or 6 year winning streak going for them. To the comment you left AZTEC PRIDE to let you know there rules all member in a relay gots to been in the same uniform and that always been a rule for years and its the coach fault for letting it happen plus one of those kids on that team was talking alot of trash last thursday saying"put who ever you want on the track we are gonna do what we did to you guys today" Lp and Gladestone was looking forward for that but the blew it them self and so did the coach, its his fault. if they did race i think Lp would of beat them pretty bad. Those kids are better trained thier then at a azusa but its all good plus i was looking forward for it as well. those officals were doing thier job and in CIF its worse. well enought said good job to all the teams today. GO WARRIORS

Well Fred:

The meet started off rough for my son in the 4x100, because they were disqualified for having different colors on their uniforms! Man was that a bummer and yes, I did give those track officials an earful!!! Great job to all the League winners

Well Fred, the track meet was a good one and you should have been their! Well for my son and his high school sporting events are over, he's a senior and he will be graduating in a several weeks. I would like to personally thank you for all the support and articles you did for AZUSA.

Fred I have enjoyed your Prep sports articles and comments. I would also like to thank the Tribune for placing the AZUSA football team on the front page of the newspaper when they won Covina. Fred I took that paper to work and showed everybody.

To all the AZUSA senior grads, GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

Well that's enough blubbering, and like I said before, I start my morning with a cup of coffee and Fred's sports page. Keep up the good work Fred!

Yes, please call in the results! Our kids in track and swim deserve some credit too. These may not be considered important sports to you football and baseball dads but lots of kids from these sports are going to college and their college coaches like to see that they have stuck with it their senior year!
