Anything and anyone you want to talk about. But mainly this is for football folks to talk about what went down in spring football. Steve and I will be busy on features and advancing the baseball and softball championship games, so have fun. BTW, tonight is the San Gabriel Valley all-star softball game at Mt. SAC at 6:30 p.m.. I will attach the rosters to this thread, and remember, players from San Dimas and Glendora are not eligible since they are playing for title games on Saturday.

And coming Thursday ... The Mamba, Lakers in Six!
....And coming Friday ....I like the Titans in a sweep. Next stop, Omaha!

Do you have a web link showing the SG info for the NFL "H.S.P.D. Program"? I'm looking at their LOCATION web page, and those dates/location aren't listed for SG.

I totally agree with FBFAN. Football coaches tend to have been two sometimes three sport athletes and understand the benefit of playing more than one sport. Any coach that tells a player to be a one sport kid, does not have the player's best interest. Self serving coaches need to be called onto the carpet.
Basic, I have to say that I'm glad you mentioned a basketball player who does not want to be a multi-sport athlete. This is happening way too much in high school athletics and with the new rules (or lack thereof), coaches can completely monopolize athletes. I personally think that football coaches do a much better job of encouraging their athletes to play other sports as oppossed to other sports, particularly basketball and baseball.
From what I understand the prinicpal at BP refuses to let Crutchfield coach there cause he's buddies with the guy at Duarte.
Bearcat fans...
Dan has it down pretty good, GP does seem to be the favorite @ QB, with his size and arm he should be pretty good, although he does lack mobility and more importantly I have not seen the "Fire" but has all the tools and I think he will do a good job with the team, although Evan H is back now and the race should be tougher (I would like to see Northrupp (sp?) back in Football though, has the size, arm, mobility and IQ, looked amazing on the freshman team two year ago but I hear he is only a basketball man now). Matt G @ coner is very solid although I would not say he is a "contact" guy, more of a Dion Sanders guy to me, Great Athelete. Aaron, Cases H is a stud, probably one of the best Atheletes on the team and also a great BBall player.
Overall, I think it will be a another good season, yes CO is the favorite though. Let's just hope our kids stay healthy.
SO I CATCH B.P. SCRIMMAGE GAME YESTERDAY. OH BOY, IS IT GONNA BE A LONG YEAR. THE KIDS ALTHOUGH LOOK TALENTED, DIDNT LOOK VERY GOOD. WHAT IS GOING ON THERE? I SEE A WHOLE NEW COACHING STAFF THAT ALSO DOESNT SEEM LIKE THEY KNOW WHATS GOING ON. WHY ALL THE NEW COACHES? WHATS GOING ON AT B.P?
GO BRAVES !!!!
Don,
Thanks for the info, yeah knowing Pendleton's size I would have hoped he'd have picked up the system and ran with it since Highley was off playing baseball. I know Coach always gets the best out of his players, knows the community and is very good at using the time he has. If I could be at home right now I'd go watch, but when I get back stateside I'll hit up summer practice and see what it's about. Defense and a bigger offensive line...oh and I know about Casey Horine...I was pretty sure I saw him dunk a few times as a Freshman.
Hey Aaron and BoHiCat,
Too bad you aren't around for the inter-squad spring funfest today at 6.
While I wouldn't consider anyone other than C O a favorite in the Miramonte, Coach Podley seems to have added some new wrinkles to that Spread O. Many QB's, and a finalist probably won't be decided before summer practice ends but Garrett Pendleton, a 6'5” Junior (to be), looks like the favorite but there are couple of shorter guys who look solid too.
Lots of receivers, Moderow, and Yepez are back from baseball to join in and some good looking RB's as well; Kenny Calvin, Giamini Johnson, Casey Horine and a couple more to be named later. Line looks bigger than that of recent teams and athletic to boot.
Defense is where the fun will be. Remember these names: Tarez Lemmons, Daniel Harriman, Cody McKenzie, and K.C. Huth, youngin's who like contact. They'll be there with All-Leaguer Tyler Cortez and AL-HM Corner Matt Gelalich to provide some fun for we who love collisions.
I'm not necessarily endorsing this, but just thought I would pass along the info. Maybe someone could chime in on whether it will be a good event or not. I know the price is right.

wow the roster for the 605 all star game...not only do I not care, it doesn't tell me anything about the SGV or about Bonita High School. Fred I'm dying here, throw me a bone.
Anyone have any info on how teams are looking so far from the Valle Vista & Montview Leagues?

Can anyone tell me how Bonita spring practice is going so far? Do they have a QB to take over Podleys system?
IT'S OFFICIAL!
Brigham Harwell will be coaching the Freshman Football Team next season at Los Altos. Coach Felipe Aguilar announced it tonight at the parent orientation meeting!
Good luck Brigham! Time to bring back some of that Conqueror mystique!
I know it must have already been posted, but who did LP hire as their new varsity football coach?
Thanks
Any information on the 605 All-Star Football game this Saturday, I believe? Any local kids playing? It would be great to get a large crowd out to support our locals for the final time of their high school careers. They've given us a lot of enjoyment over the years.
The Black Mamba comes from the Kill Bill movies. The classic scene where Darryl Hannah breaks down Michael Madsen after he opens his "bounty" for the Prized Sword.
I'll wait for an Albino Mamba ...kinda racist don't you think?
good call yesterday with SD beating my Lancers... what a hearbreaker
btw, is there a worse nickname for such a huge superstar than "The Black Mamba"? I may be in the minority, but I hate that nickname...
fred, don't know why, but 2 girls from arroyo are not on roster, playing for the north team. They were at practice monday.. Audrey Guillen & Valarie Herrera
Fred,
What do you got for me as far as Bonita is concerned?
