For many years the message she had been getting from the small painting (the empty chair, the parasol, the flower) was let life be simple, keep the world away. But then she realised that she also needed people, to love and be loved and that the simple life was not enough. The world could not be kept away, not entirely, if one wished to be happy.

...Do any of you clowns who claim to know the state of Wilson Football have ANY CLUE what you are talking about? You want to trash talk on Hoyd and his former staff, but did any of you ever bother to learn about what was going on behind the scenes? How the old AD did everything possible to undermine Hoyd, as did the new principal, and the joke of a Booster Club which refused to use the money raised for the program... wait for it... ON THE PROGRAM!!
Many people have come on here and spread lies about things Hoyd allegedly perpetrated during his short time there, including affairs w/ administrators, using program $$ to pay his coaches, and trying to illegally recruit players to the school. I can say for a fact that none of these things ever happened.
The fact is, that the program was a disaster well before Hoyd & his staff arrived, and despite popular opinion, it was turning around in a big way, albeit at the Freshman level. The current Sophs at Wilson are talented enough to help the Varsity challenge for a 3rd place finish. I know each one of those kids personally, and can attest to the hard work they put in, and the dedication they have to making that program into a winner. Hoyd's true legacy at Wilson won't be the one disastrous year he spent there, but how the young guys do over the next couple years b/c of the work effort he instilled in the program. I for one, will be most pleased when all of you haters have to eat a little humble pie.
.. Oh, and those Jr All-American coaches you guys all LOVE... they're the very reason you're program has been in the dumps all these years. They run what they want & not the same thing as the Varsity/JV, they badmouth the upper-level staff, and they take their players off to other schools when they don't get their way. If that's what you want your kids to learn, well then you are as stupid & ignorant as you come across on this board...
Anybody want to admit to taking their kid to the Wilson camp, or just going by, and checking it out? Curious as to what kind of turnout they had.

Do you know if Wilson has any more passing leagues scheduled for this summer?
Thanks
CatAlum,
Didn't stay till the end, but you hit walnut right on the spot. The quarterback situation isn't as bad as you heard. The starting quarterback has a great arm and technique, needs to work on reading the defense. His cousin is our best wide receiver, very talented. Both are transfers from out of state. We may have a few more surprises pop up in the coming weeks. Don't want to say much until they happen. I think this team is going to surprise a few teams. Don't get me wrong we aren't going to be competing for a CIF championship and everyone knows that.
That's good news for the Soph/Jr players.
I didn't hear what the scores were today with Wilson, Walnut, and Workman, but I did hear that the QB play was uninspired on all fronts, and Walnut was up to their usual trash talking, chest thumping ways.
CatAlum,
I was at the 7 on 7 today at Wilson, my mistake on the numbers. The V/JV program now has almost 50 kids out their. The freshmen program has about 45 kids out their. Those numbers are great compared to last years numbers. I also just found out that LA's freshmen squad is pushing 40 kids this year. Last year was a down year for LA at 90 kids. These numbers are great for the future of Wilson Football.
CatAlum,
We started with about 30 kids on JV and V, up to about 40 kids now, I am told that is enough to have both JV and V.
The freshmen have about 35 to 40 kids. I was surprised to see they got the majority of the talent in the area. The biggest kid in the program is a freshmen 6'3' 200+ and quick for a big man.
To quote a famous Coach Hoyd or infamous you can not fall off the sidewalk. Coach Hoyd took this program to the gutter or hell what ever you prefer. Coach Zavala will do much better than Hoyd
(Wilson Parent)
Is Wilson going to have enough players to have both; a JV team, and a Varsity team this season?
What is real interesting about the Bonita tournament is Wilson was missing about five of their starters on the first day and few more weren't going to make the second day due to injuries.
They went 3-2 in the tournament this last weekend and didn't get blown out by anyone, "Expect to Compete". For a program that is in a rebuilding stage they are competing. This team is also very young, most if not all of their key players are juniors and sophomores. With the league realignment next season, Wilson is going to be a team to watch out for.
Now Coach Zavala and staff, I would have to give them a grade of A+ to date. I haven't heard one negative comment from any player. To put it simple the coaches and going out there and coaching up ALL the kids. Anyone that saw the program last year and to see how they are competing in 7 on 7 this year can see the huge step in the right direction this program has taken.
Keep up the GREAT work COACH ZAVALA and STAFF
V.V.L ??
Are you talking about Wilson moving to the Valle Vista League in 2010? What's wrong with that? Better to move to a competitive league, than get hammered every week, isn't it?
They quit cause they didn't want to coach with a Clown, Zavala and you V.V.L
Come On,
First of all get your facts straight about who is coaching the freshmen over at Wilson,( it's not those clowns from the Jr. All-American program), they quit before spring ball started (real classy). So before you start calling people clowns get your sh*t straight and accept the fact that your son just isnt that good of an athlete.
ComeOn
Winning is fun, and you don't get there without hard work. Coach Zavala doesn't have the depth at Wilson that other schools have, so he's probably going to work the players he does have, that much harder, so they'll be in the best shape possible. If you don't like his coaching style, I'm sure there are plenty of other schools in the area with "softer" programs, who would love to have your child, enroll. Just remember, academics come first, especially good grammar.
Lets give this guys a chance. Sure he doesn't show up on the 2nd day of Bonita Tourney. Money well spent coach:) I would love to see his current Wilson kids coach a camp, that will be a joke. They need to be in the camp themselves. I've seen this guys coach, yell and scream and cuss, I don't want my kid learning one thing from this guys. Arellanes is a good classy coach, and Zavala is a CLOWN! As are his assistants. The only quality coaches are the lower level coaches from the Jr. All American programs. Hey Zavala....kids got to have fun too or they aren't going to buy in. Good luck scoring and stoping anyone this year.

The video also shows SNOOP DOGG who shows up "fashionably late" to support his Alma Mater.
Mike Hall,
that was hilarious. Anyone that went to the Bonita tournament knows what you are talking about. The sad part is that they had a couple of pretty good wins on the first day!
are they going to teach them how to forfeit on the second day?
Very curious as to what offensive and defensive system Wilson is running
I'm guessing this should read JULY, Freddie?
