Diamond Ranch and San Dimas jump to No. 4 and 7 respectively in Tribune’s Super 32 rankings

The Top Ten
1. Charter Oak (1-0) — The Chargers couldn’t handle the speed up front from Gardena? That’s not a good sign, but it was opening week. Even though they slipped past 15-14, they’re still the defending champs.
2. Glendora (0-0) — Tough opener at Upland, a game that will be a telling sign of what to expect the rest of the way.
3. Bishop Amat (0-0) — When you look at the Lancers’ schedule, a win over Dominguez is a must off the bat. They’re at home, it’s opening night, and the schedule only gets tougher.
4. Diamond Ranch (1-0) — Let’s give CIF credit, they ranked the Panthers No. 1 in the Southeast, and they protected it nicely with a big win over Muir.
5. South Hills (0-0) — The Huskies drop from No. 3 to No. 5 without losing a game, but the loss of Jordan and Jamie Canada is huge, and the quarterback spot is still uncertain heading into Ayala.
6. Rowland (0-0) — The Raiders lost plenty from last year, but Michael Ball is back and we will see how much of an impact he makes against California.
7. San Dimas (1-0) — They looked outstanding against Los Altos. The biggest surprise was not the offense, but the defense in winning 33-6.
8. Walnut (0-0) — If the Mustangs beat Diamond Bar, they have a good chance of starting 4-0 or 5-0.
9. Damien (0-1) — They hung for a half against mighty Rancho Cucamonga, now they get another tough one at St. John Bosco.
10. West Covina (0-1) — Not even Whittier prep editor Roger Murray thought the Bulldogs would lose to El Rancho. The 28-17 setback is a shocker, no other way to explain it.
