Gladstone 35, Ganesha 6 — The Happy Rockers are 2-0 and off to their best start since 2005; also the last time they won the Montview. Finally, no more talk about a down cycle.
Sierra Vista 12, Hoover 8 — Another Montview eye-catcher with a first-game win under the belt. That makes the Montview 5-2 in openers.
Nogales 33, Garey 27 — If they had any chance of competing in the San Antonio, they had to win games like this and they did.
Bassett 8, Firebaugh 6 — Sounds like more of a baseball score, but the Olympians will take it.
