I'm really worried about your ability to recognize a complement when you read one. I was pointing out that Coach Layton does a good job of helping players get into school, and that he even tries to help kids from other schools if ye can. I'm not a school, coach, or kid basher. I try to tell the truth and give insight to football in the area. The only subject that I do feel strongly about is private vs public. Put the private schools in their own division (in the play-offs) and let them fight it out. I do always pull for SGV teams when they play out of the area or in the play-offs.

First of all to all you people bashing DR. Whoever that person is that's doing all the talking don't take his work that he is from DR. I can tell you all this. They are as hard working a team as there is in the area. Some of you are forgetting they do play a tough pre-season schedule. Besides it's league play that really matters, and as we learned from them last year anything can happen in the play-offs. They also do a good job of getting kids into college. I also know for a fact that Coach Layton tried to hook the QB from CO up with some colleges last year. So don't bash all of DR for that one jokerhead.

If you remember a year ago we had bloggers like amnot, werdup, and the fortune cookie guy coming in here with much of the same. We were living in the past, over the hill, burritto eating, beer-drinking, tatooed women, fat, pinky ring/wife-beater wearing, barrio boys from Amat Nation and predicting 0-10.... then 1-9... 3-7... and the posts began to slow - then all but disappear. Even King Stud actually chose a name to stick with and would come in with a legitimate takes now and then. Betcha he'd even tell you he has more fun these days. I even agree with him now & then. There are times he's even the voice of reason on some topics. THought the world was off it's axis!

So unfortunately, AnonymASS isn't even all that original or humorous. Been there done that - moved on.

Some may not remember but two years ago most bloggers (sometimes led by yours truly) were able to come on here and actually have some football takes that were pretty insulting to the Amat program. They could slam coaching, lack of preparation, strategy, fundamentals, disorganization, repeated mistakes, lack of team and program unity, no discipline or experienced leadership, broken team spirit and on and on. And they'd have a point from time to time.

He was sick last week and didn't suite up, not sure if he is back this week. Your right about Maggiore though he and the staff usually have the team peaking at playoff time, the key to the season usually seems to be how many of our key players do we have towards the end. Wether it be due to injury or other reasons most years we seem to lose a few guy's, the good thing about this year is I think we are deeper than most years. As for Santa Fe, we did lose to them back in 2002, I think the score was 30 to 15, maybe you were thinking of that year. Since we are talking about Santa Fe what about their win over San Clemente on Friday, between them and El Rancho the Del Rio has got my attention.

What difference does it make what these polls say? The only thing that matters is who is the champion at the end of the season. Unless your school is playing to be the CIF Poll Champion. I'd rather hold the trophy myself. Relax...

Is there anyone who doesn't think Charter Oak is the best team in the Southeast Division? The way things look right now wouldn't it make sense to have Charter Oak@1, Rowland@2, and Walnut@3? Some of these teams will be playing eachother so that will clear some of the muck. Is West Covina really not worth a mention? Their game with El Rancho was close and they played Amat tight. I would risk my reputation to say they are much better than any of the teams that are listed as others. I've seen Whittier, they just snuck by Chino, and I think Chino is going to go 0 for the season.

Can everyone just say CHARTER CHOKE. game and momentum at hand, blocked kick before halftime changed everything as the Charter Choke team came out with their tail between their legs for the second half. The drop in rankings is justified.

Who the heck ranks the Southeast Division? They obviously have no clue about who's who. Lets look at the reality ranking.

1. Charter Oak - After watching them does anyone think that any of the teams ranked above them can hang?

2. Diamond Ranch - I know what their record is, but look at who they played. To many atheletes and to much speed for the others.

3. Rowland - Tough defense and a playmaker at QB.

4. South Hills - This is where their tough schedule starts to pay off

5. Bell Gardens - Haven't followed them very
much but they have been traditionaly tough>

6. Walnut - Has some serious horses at the skill positions (no pun intended). Line play looked suspect last week. Lets see how they do vs the SAL defenses.

7. Santa Fe - I'm SGV. So all I really know about them is that they have been solid for years. And they did put a Whoppin on WC a couple years ago.

8. El Rancho - Their win vs WC the first week was impressive. But again I'm SGV so I don't follow them very closely.

9. West Covina - Probably should be higher based on the victory against Glendora and the showing vs Amat. But they are solid. have a ton of speed and athletisim and they will be moving up once league play starts.

10. Cresenta Valley- Again I'm SGV so this team is an X factor to me. I just can't put Wilson, or Whittier in my top 10 and I don't know anything about Burbank

I agree. The Southeast polls are pretty ridiculous. How is Santa Fe not ranked higher after beating a very well respected PAC 5 team? How does CO go from #1 to #5 after losing a hard fought battle with a Division II team? Not yet sold on El Rancho or Bell Gardens. IMO Santa Fe should be ahead of both of them as well as South Hills. Walnut at #2?

Is this the same poll that had DR #1 ahead of CO who beat them twice last year? Charter Oak loses for the first time in almost two years and gets bumped down 3 spots behind Walnut who people are predicting might lose to 2-1 Arroyo and a Bell Gardens team that beat El Rancho by 3?
