Oh my having a cup of coffee this morning watching this Devon Blackledge video. I stop watching Devon run and just focused my attention on their offensive line and they just move and bulldoze defensive lines. This will really be a factor on how Amat stands up to this assault Tomorrow. I just dont think Amat is capable of of even hanging with this team for the first quarter and I am sure in some of the players minds they know they are going to get routed. Oluth was one thing last year, this is a total different animal. St. Bonnies unless they are banged up and or feeling the grind of playing three good teams to start the season SJB,Poly and Crespi and now traveling once again to La Puente for another road game does BA have a chance here. I am hoping for a close game to give Amat the confidance they will need the rest of the way, but I just do not see it.

If you remember a year ago we had bloggers like amnot, werdup, and the fortune cookie guy coming in here with much of the same. We were living in the past, over the hill, burritto eating, beer-drinking, tatooed women, fat, pinky ring/wife-beater wearing, barrio boys from Amat Nation and predicting 0-10.... then 1-9... 3-7... and the posts began to slow - then all but disappear. Even King Stud actually chose a name to stick with and would come in with a legitimate takes now and then. Betcha he'd even tell you he has more fun these days. I even agree with him now & then. There are times he's even the voice of reason on some topics. THought the world was off it's axis!

So unfortunately, AnonymASS isn't even all that original or humorous. Been there done that - moved on.

Some may not remember but two years ago most bloggers (sometimes led by yours truly) were able to come on here and actually have some football takes that were pretty insulting to the Amat program. They could slam coaching, lack of preparation, strategy, fundamentals, disorganization, repeated mistakes, lack of team and program unity, no discipline or experienced leadership, broken team spirit and on and on. And they'd have a point from time to time.

Having AnonymASS resorting to this same kind of foolishness is such a relief. He could actually be talking football instead.

Darn good question about the website. Let me tell you, they are dropping the ball over there. even the summer edition of the Alumni Newsletter wasn't that great and they haven't posted that online yet either. Does anyone know if Burt Lao is still there?

That #14 TE you are referring to is Anthony Carrillo. Actually No 14 is his practice Jersey his playing number is #80. He's a solid 6 ' 1" 200 lb 14 year old kid with great hands. Wish the offense would utilize him more, they utilize him more for his blocking skills than his catching skills, but he could do both very well.

I forecast this kid to grow to 6' 3-4" 240 lbs after some hard work in the weight room and by the time he reaches his senior year.

DJ and Llamas will be one of the best backs in the SGV during their Senior year. Let's hope they stay healthy and stay together for the next 3 years.

BTW, our 3-0 frosh will be traveling to Ventura on Saturday to take on St. Bonnie frosh. We will be ready for the Seraphs. Thanks for the Ruiz correction, someone mistakenly told me he was Rio's brother. And as someone has mentioned this team is the future of Amat football team starting with the class of 2013.

The Amat Freshman class is our future and we all care because they are part of "The Family" that is Bishop Amat! We can run a thread on this blog with just Amat backers who want to discuss Amat football...and that just makes the haters greeeennn with envy. Of course there will be the usual Amat put downs and who cares about Freshman, JV football comments but it's to be expected, bring it on! We'll either entertain ourselves by verbally jousting with you or (if you're a complete idiot) we'll just ignore you. Eitherway, we are gonna talk Amat football!
Our freshman class is stacked and they have several all around athletes that come to play every game. Win or lose, they ARE THE LANCER FUTURE! Keep it up guys! GO BIG BLUE!

I thought I saw in the scrimmage with Jordan/Carson (Frosh) a good size TE (#14) is he still around and how big is that kid?

Tierney works his best, but it would be nice to see a bigger kid in the program. It was nice in the day to see Pat Patterson (6'5 240) blocking for Bieniemy or Jason Green (6'4 230) blocking for one of the many other RB Amat has produced.

nobody cares about frosh football..... if any of the players where that good they would be up with the varsity...

The Amat Frosh team class of 2013 is the real deal and the best class since Donny McCleskey was a freshman (the last Amat frosh team that went 10-0 and beat the likes of LB Poly/Notre Dame etc).

This team has size, speed and depth. And the 2nd and 3rd string team could start for almost any frosh team in the SGV. We have 3 backs Blue, Llamas and Daniels who can block, catch and run as hell behind an OL that averages over 250 lb (we just lost a 6' 2" 300 lb lineman, so our average dropped a bit). A stingy defense that has literally shut down opponents (opponents have only scored on our second stringers).

BTW Hag's son is an average receiver he's dropped too many TD potential passes, I think Ruiz (Rio's brother) is much better, but hey that's just MHO.

3) Three big time playmakers(4.7 forty or faster)

5) They are beating opponets handily.

Going into last season Amat was #1535 on the MaxPreps list - and Crespi and OLu were in the Top 75, there's a heckuva bigger difference there and those two worked out OK for the Lancers.

And we went into the playoffs facing the #1 team in the Nation - so it's nothing we're not used to or anything that will intimidate us.

That being said... I guess we're movin'up.

Maxpreps has St. Bonaventure ranked #9 in the nation... Amat is ranked #748. By the way, what makes the Amat Frosh team so special?
