Anything and anyone you want to talk about

Game of the week? There are four under consideration, Charter Oak-Diamond Ranch, Damien-Glendora, Walnut-West Covina, Alemany-Bishop Amat.
Bishop Amat history?: The 6-0 start is the best this decade, can anyone tell me the last time a Lancers team started 6-0 or better?
More Bishop Amat: It's just a thought, but someone over there should start inputting stats on MaxPreps or provide some public forum for fans to access stats. If Bishop Amat can sell season seats, they can certainly provide stats for the community.
Athletes of the week: Looking for nominations for boys and girls athletes of the week.

If you are too high not to choose a small bag of small, because the impression may be even greater. If you are small and weak, it is important to consider the proportionality – a bag that looks good from a great person carried out may give the impression of more in size on a smaller scale.
I am unsure I fully fully grasp everything in the posting, I'm probably a little bit dense, but the general tips seem to make good sense and I am going to try to put things into motion. Let me add you to my RSS and see if I can get a much better understanding Cheers!
stylish and practical bag is designed for the modern woman. Known as a leading brand BT is famous or more types of cases on the market. Just as you choose the best fit perfectly into your closet every day? Here are some tips.

Why dont all of you idiots knock if off. That includes Joe Amat with Chargerfan and the never ending saga of the Corona and Randy BS. It's getting stupid now.
frank, i dont hate anybody on this blog, you just went alittle to far talking about my mom (the woman whose brothers who knew back in the day) and my kid, with some snive comments that werent going unchecked......we had our talk on the phone and i think cleared up any bullshit between us, we acted like polite adults on the field, and i'm good with that.....i came on this blog that night an posted on how that meeting went down, and i like i said that night sometimes your comments have a way a rubbing people wrong, you have to know that, that aint the first time you been told that....but i see where your coming from, and after getting a second chance to re-acquaint ourselves i think we'll have a better sense of commom decency/respect for each other from here on out, or was I wrong???????
HORSE OF A DIFFERENT COLOR...giddy up both on the sock hops and stopping this nonsense. I’m not bragging up my kids…everything that I’ve written is that we are all equal as in no one is superior no matter what your our the other guy’s circumstances happen to be. And I believe that the more you have isn’t a license to look down upon those that are less fortunate but, instead, places the responsibility upon your back to give back…you know the easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle stuff.
I said and meant it that I’m not bragging up my kids. Here is a true story from a few years back that will always affect my son’s life and mine and I hope neither of us ever forgets it. I’m coaching a 7 and 8 year old baseball team and I have a kid that from the start is a little different and after privately speaking with his dad I’m told that he’s being tested by the doctors and they suspect autism…very emotional stuff for a parent to deal with. This kid requires more attention but he’s a pleasure and to this day some of his innocent antics are some of my fondest memories…both in baseball and life in general. Now this kid, who is not in any way blessed athletically, just lives to play on the baseball team and this is his only concrete connection to belonging to something.
Well, one Saturday my own kid, who is an all-star player, strikes out and decides to throw his bat on the ground on the way back to the dugout. Well this kid, who looks up to the top players on the team, strikes out in his next at bat and proceeds to helicopter his bat and thankfully I got a piece of it as it was heading into our dugout.
After the game, a few parents come up to me to voice concern about safety and rightfully so…and I tactfully explained the situation and assured them that it will be handled by the coaches. The “get it” parents understand but there is always one ignorant person that just doesn’t get it and SHE wants the kid thrown off the team and won’t accept any other alternative so I tell her “But for the grace of I God goes I”…but she still doesn’t have a clue what I’m saying and storms off pissed. A few hours later my phone rings and it is a league official that this woman has called demanding that the kid be tossed from the team…thankfully, this was a fine person who gets it so he agrees to our plan to monitor the kid closely. Well Sunday morning my phone rings and it is this kid’s dad and before he uttered a single word I told him you’re not quitting, which was the whole point of the call. After an hour of discussion, I was finally able to convince him to ignore the ignorant woman who, by the way continued to complain for the rest of the season, and let his kid give it another try…which lasted to the end of the season.
Funny thing is that whenever this kid was about to strike out, which was often, I moved like 10 feet from home plate and the Umps that didn’t know would ask me what the heck I was doing…the next few games I took a bat or two off the leg but after more counseling it eventually stopped. To this day, every time I watch the happy Gilmore movie and see Lee Trevino glaring at Happy as he’s about to chuck his club I think about this kid.
From this incident, my son saw the importance of leading by example…something I pray that he never forgets.
And the lesson for all including those that claim that they are superior to others and have no compassion for those that don't measure up to their standard…but for the grace of God goes I…
cochargerfan,
Care to try again,
I gotten stand so see you later
Is that what they teach you in public school
Still sounds and looks like the kh school of writing to me punk.
I think this discussion has had enough legs. Soon we'll be talking about each other's kids and that always ends poorly. So what do you say guys...truce?
COCF and Joey let's call a truce...each with his leaf intact....COCF with your fig leaf as a sign of peace and Joey with his Olive Branch as a sign of peace...as Joey knows...Salesian men wear neither as our mascot is the Mustangs!!!! LMAO!!!
Joey...ever wonder why Salesian had the best Sock Hops? And why all the girls schools went to Salesian dances rather than Cantwell, Bosco or Cathedrals?
Hit it Johnny Chingas...."Se me paro paro paro...PARO......
Right about know I'd cue a clip of one of my favorite shows...hit it!!!
Hello.....I'm MR. ED !!!!!! (horsey sounds)
COCF...the fig leaf also signifies "modesty"....just saying.....LOL
Peace out!!!
Man I loved those Sock Hops!!!!!
HANGING TO CLOSE, seems that you are having trouble with this whole basic reading thing so I'll draw you a diagram: ANGELS + ELUSIVE OUT TO WIN + STAND UP TO WATCH = YOU'RE A JUVENILE IDIOT. Get it now?
Joey, Joey, Joey…nothing changes...the shark’s circle and Joey attacks despite my offer to just let things go. So here’s goes.
First of all, a fig leaf is a symbol of peace that is used in the Jewish culture (by the way, I’m not Jewish) and I used it as symbolism because our little discussions resemble the “you started it…no it was you who did it” futility that divides the Arabs and Israelis. They’ve been at it for 2,000 years…so you want to do this the rest of your life too?
In response to your education questions, I want to start by saying that I’m very blessed to have two healthy and bright kids. And, I’m only talking about them because your questions are directed at my son so please folks don’t twist my words that I’m bragging...I say this knowing that some of you will nevertheless grab this out of context to further your efforts to label me a liar and hypocrite. You should also know that my oldest is a credentialed teacher who did the necessary work but certainly didn’t have to climb Mt. Everest to obtain her degree and credential.
First and foremost you are attempting to equate an AP/IB class that requires more WORK than a basic one, to be the same as challenging one’s ABILITIES and they are not the same animal. Some of these very intelligent kids breeze through the AP/IB classes with little to no challenge…so the challenge isn’t related to the type of class. Heck, one can just as easily “not challenge” themselves in a basic class and earn an “F” in the process.
My son, and he is just one of many, many kids, doesn’t take AP/IB classes because I make him or to test whether he has the ability to do the work and instead, he simply already possesses the God given intelligence to take advanced classes, would be bored stiff in the basic classes and has the goal to go to a good university (preferably USC). And, in most of the classes he’s not all that challenged and in a few others he must work harder…the difference has nothing to do with some “mythical challenge” of one’s abilities and, instead, is related to two things…how God wired your brain and personal interest in the subject matter, the latter factors into one’s motivation to do the work. In fact, learning for most kids isn’t the least bit about challenging one’s abilities but instead, is more of an exercise in dedication and responsibility (i.e. ask most kids why they got a bad grade and it wasn’t because they felt the material was outside of their abilities and, instead, they will tell you that they just didn’t feel like doing the necessary work).
No Joey, the challenge isn’t taking the class, but it is having the perseverance and dedication to do the work. There are lots of bright kids that barely squeak by in high school not because they lack a Roy McElvoy challenge myself mentality but, instead, just because they are plain lazy.
And I can guarantee that college isn’t about some mythical do you have the ability challenge because everyone that starts has the ability to do the coursework but 75% don’t earn a degree because they lack perseverance and dedication.
And Joey, you can’t get a higher GPA by taking basic classes because an “A” for a basic class is a 4.0 and for an AP/IB class is a 5.0, which is why the very top students wind up with a 5.0 GPA. So in the end, there is a difference. And another reason for taking AP/IB classes is that passing the exam means you don’t have to take that class in college…so there is the big reward which has nothing to do with challenging ones abilities.
Context matters Joey…the equal GPA/SAT scores were related to Amat guys assertion that all things being equal the Amat student would get admitted to every college and the public education kid wouldn’t…you know, that superior education argument. My answer was hogwash that they’d get into the same colleges because admission folks don’t weight Amat high school diplomas above one earned at public high schools. So your “advantage to take an easier course of study and get a higher GPA” doesn’t have anything to do with your premise. But, to answer your question in the real world and not some hypothetical…pretty much never ever, ever happens that a kid that only took basic classes will score higher on the SAT than the IB/AP kids…aren’t the reasons obvious or should I spell them out for you?
About kh, why don’t we just settle this by having your Amat family members come onto this thread and say that they didn’t mean the superior education comments but were just shooting for some yuks and we’ll pose the are you a raciest question to kh? Shoot, if the Amat education honks do this it will save you the time to attack this post and all will be forgiven…deal? And, we’ll clear this up. Since a lot of folks think kh is a low-life, the “higher road” Amat guys should man-up and go first…
COChargerfan,
It seems that you have taken a course in the kh school of writing composition by the looks of your last sentence. i gotten stand to see this so later. WTF does that mean. Be careful of the company you keep. Maybe you should hang around with more Amat honks .
COChargerfan,
Really we have hardly traveled down the "education road at all... you took an dearly off ramp when, after passing on the questions a few times, you finally said it , "doesn’t even warrant my time. But you didn't really answer much of what I wrote/asked/answered/responded to in my last 3 or 4 posts on this thread. And that's OK. I understand that you may not want to write anything that doesn't support your position. However, when you "take the fifth" it often leads other to assume the worst.
I just thought by answering a few non-threatening, non-football, non-Amat/Pac5 questions you could better define your position on the pursuit of excellence. I figured it might help others understand where you are coming from and not pick on you quite so much. You might even drum up some support - not that there's anything wrong with being a lone-wolf... as long as you really believe you're right.
So, in case you couldn't find the questions and get the urge to set all of us straight - here they go again:
You said your son was an AP/IB student. Why would you have him take a "more challenging" schedule?
Would he be just as well off if he took a "basic" schedule and got a higher GPA?
Would that "basic" schedule prepare him for the next level as well as his AP/IB courses?
Is he "challenged" by the *competition* in his AP/IB courses on a daily basis more than he might be if he took that "basic" schedule you speak of?
Does he work harder and more seriously on a regular basis, knowing that at the end of the year he must take the difficult AP/IB tests and compete with students of that caliber on a national basis?
Since, as you said, as long as GPAs/SATs are equal, he is eligible as a public school student for the EXACT SAME colleges as the private school kid, isn't it to his advantage to take an easier course of study and get a higher GPA.
When all things are equal, what do YOU think college admissions officers use to break those ties?
If you'd help us with those - maybe we'd "get it"
PS: It's an *Olive Branch* that's a show of peace... not a "fig leaf". Unless of course you're walking around... uummm... exposed. Then it's to "cover a piece" - if you get my drift !:?)
I have no intention of "riding your butt" until the end of time (especially after the "fig leaf" snafu !:?) Only until I understand or come to an understanding. (see King Stud, DRanchhhh, Anonymass, et al)
and instead of coming to kh's defense out of the blue (after similar comments have been surfacing since last baseball season) did you think that maybe, instead of a referendum on public education, the guy commenting on his post was "a guy that was shooting for some yuks."?
Good luck tonight against the Ranchers. You'll need it a bit less than we do. Alemany is real good. We better come to play (as we have been known to do lately)
Joey...not that you need advice but I've seen this story played out before when someone would come after me and go to irrational lenghts and ultimately blame their behavior and comments on our "commonality"...as in I see YOU in me and YOU see ME in YOU...when nothing could be further from the truth.
COCF...sorry my friend but you're nothing like My Pal...NOTHING!
I'm sure this whole thing COCF was just "THAT" ...as it ALWAYS IS...you just wanted to "knock him down an notch" ....ever ask yourself why?
In the end Joey if these type of guys can just make you ADMIT...YOU'RE BOTH MORROR IMAGES OF EACH OTHER...WELL THEN....THEY TOO ARE JUST LIKE YOU....WHO THEY ORIGINALLY WANTED TO TEACH A LESSON?
Joey...is this as disturbing to you as it was to me?
COCF...I'll repeat...you're nothing like Joey...joey is far far far far far superior to you...lmao.. ..Joey was that too many "far's"
Joey...we already traveled for miles down the education road and you just want to fork off for another ten miles just to end up in the same place that we're already at...I'm just trying to let some things rest, ok?
You know what’s the problem between you and me, don't you…we are exactly the same type of cat. So when you look into the mirror and tell yourself that you are going to ride COCF's (I like the acronym) butt until the end of time...I'm staring back.
jcaz is right...so I took his advice and threw out the fig leaf but instead of getting it back, the wolves appeared and I got called “gutless” and you dropped some sort of tip your king comment. Why don’t we agree to drop the insults and innuendo and just agree to disagree and move on? I know that they are fig trees in La Puente…why don’t you go pick a leaf and I’ll do the same in Covina?
One last comment to all about this racial slur thing…I don’t want anyone to have the impression that I’m accusing kh of being a racist because I’ve never met the man and I can’t say for certain that he intended the Indian 7-11 comment to be a slur. A lot of bull gets slung on this blog but this is a very serious accusation to make about a person and should not be made without undeniable proof. How do we know that he wasn’t making an (ill-advised) joke? Anybody ever catch Carlos Mencia’s show…mostly racial profiling jokes and skits. See his skit when he plays the Indian convenience store owner? Ever catch the Stereotype Olympics…stuff like a white, black, Mexican and Asian guy eating watermelon, dropping trowel to see if the rumor about Asians is true…silly stuff like that. Another skit has a black, Cuban, “Chinaman”, “gay guy” and “Jew” doing hip hop dancing…the black guys wins and his prize is fried chicken. Not exactly politically correct, is it? At face value, Mencia is a racist. But in CONTEXT, this a comedy act. Now, I don’t know whether Mencia is actually a racist but until he is proven otherwise, he’s just a guy that is trying to make people laugh. Now, please don’t came after me with you’re defending kh accusations…because at the minimum his comments were inappropriate and I for one would never say such a thing…but until someone provides some compelling evidence to prove otherwise, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was also just a guy that was shooting for some yuks.
Amat 73…I do know that 1973 is the year you graduated so, yeah, that was part of my 20-year-old showing up for you comment.
One more out and the Angels win…an elusive out…bases now loaded. I gotten stand to see this so later.

COChargerfan,
I thought you didn't want to go into the past when it was time to compare Amat & Charter Oak head-to-head to evaluate the programs because it wasn't *this year*. But now you want time-travel to the same year and talk about Valencia? So are we going to go back that far... or not? We can play that game if you want.
If so, right after the last Valencia loss you mentioned, we went on a string of 3 games against some of the better SGV teams (CO, Glendora, & Damien). Would you then say that Amat (in that same down year) playing and beating them by a composite score of 96-16 makes them far, far, far superior... or is a 90 point difference just 1% and a big play here and there?
Connect those dots for me, would you.
... and I posted October 21, 2009 1:25 PM in response to your rant - but since you *chose* not to address any of my comments (again) and skipped to jcaz & 73, I thought I'd leave it alone.
But since you're playing that game... I'm still waiting for your opinion on some academic issues that I had asked you about ... since your an educated man with that statistics, legal, and Logic & Critical Reasoning background I thought you could shed some light... especially since you're the self-appointed defender of public education.
COChargefan, No way do I compare our current team to the 72 team . Yes I can see and do know the difference between the two. The only team I can compare and maybe say were a notch better was the Reebok Bowl championship team of 92. The talent level on both of those teams was unbelievable where as this teams has some talent but a lot of heart and soul and play to a level that no one ever thought they were capable of doing. No way am I accusing you of being racist and no way I would even think of you as that as you have never shown that side on the blog. If you took it that way then you are dead wrong because it was not meant that way, I merely was asking if you were going to defend him as you defended him or public education in lack of spelling and so forth . kh had many times been bashed on his grammar by AMAT honks and others but only since the great debates between you and AMAT honks started of late did you take up the fight which you say you were defendng the public education point vs AMAT education. My thinking was why now and not before as you have said you are a long time follower of the blog .I think even you will admit that kh sometimes does write as if he is either on a binge or has been hitting the pipe when posting . Also my post name AMAT73 refers to 1973 my class year so if a 20 something would show up that would be a huge clue that it's not me. I for one also do not play beer pong golf so I am with you on that. Anyway I got no beef with you in reality and if you perceived or read between the lines on my post you were wrong on that account. I only respond to what I read and only what I read and not what I think a person is thinking or what I think I read between the lines.
Read carefully because the charity response went up already...in a nutshell...I don't play beer-pong golf and I'm not playing for charity because I want the satisfaction of taking a vacation with Amat honks coin.
Hey New meaning to "tin cup" (shall we really call you NO GUTS or second coming?), the fact that you were going to CHEAT by sending a ringer in tells us something about your character, doesn't it? I can see it now, we show up to play and I’ll be looking at a bunch of 20 year olds who are saying that they are AMAT 73, NO GUTS and SECOND COMING…lots and lots of integrity, lots and lots….at least we agree that Jordan isn’t a 1.3…more like an 8 or 9. Not only is he relatively short off the tee, he’s a lie-improving ball bumper and four footers are gimmies…I’m not.
AMAT 73, I know a guilt by association slur when I see it…remember that I took a college course in Logic and Critical Reasoning. You still haven’t answered the question of why it was relevant or necessary to bring this very old racial slur stuff up? Why?…because you know that I didn’t say it so what has it to do with me? And, just because you CONNECTED me to kh’s comments via an “are you going to defend kh” in a question form doesn’t change the fact that YOU INTENTIONALLY made this connection…why? Especially considering that several times I had already said that kh is irrelevant and the discussion is the public education system vs. Amat….you remember reading this but ignored it anyway…isn’t that true? So, even though kh is not part of the discussion you intentionally bring him back into the picture, call him a racist and then associate me as his defender? You did it and anyone with an once of logical reasoning can see it…guilt by association…Google it folks and you’ll agree…then add it to Amat 73’s shtick.
At least you’ve come around AMAT 73…you are absolutely correct that your 1972 team went undefeated and won a TITLE…and with this feat they earned the right to say they are far, far, far superior. Wow, I’m having trouble connecting the dots between your 1972 and 2009 teams…that was a long time ago…you younger readers can pull out your history books and see that in 1972 we were still at war in Viet Nam and the Watergate break in took place which led to Nixon’s resignation. Wake up…none of your current players were even born yet in 1972. But, if your 2009 team goes undefeated and hosts that CIF Title, then I will personally call them far, far, far superior. Until then, you’re just not the 1972 team. By the way, if the 2009 team doesn’t win the title, wouldn’t comparing them to the 1972 squad be a huge slight? After all, one was a champion and the other wasn’t.
I’ll end by asking this question…when are you cats going to address the FACTS that are in my post on October 21, 2009 at 10:54 AM??? Still ignoring those Valencia losses???
Amat 73...you know COChargerFan is full of hot air. His arguments lack fundation and his opinions are about as complex and substantive as the riddles in a Cracker Jack's box.
The thing about giving to Charity is you're not suppose to be kept waiting for a response...it's rude, and besides...money is tight no matter how much you think you have...it's not enough...so the Charity thing with COCF is off.
Damien did me wrong last year as well when I offered 10K for basketball uniforms after seeing both my boys with mismatched uniforms. I mean...have some GD pride in your program and at least look like a Champion. Dunn refused by making me wait 2 months before saying no thanks..I offered the Booster President the money to buy the uniforms himself with the help of an assistant and both looked nervous so I kept the money in the bank...lol
Too bad Amat 73...I would have loved to have seen...Fred, COCF and you try and beat my ringer...LMAO!!! My ringer took thousands off Jordan once...true story...Michael isn't as good as people think...especially without cameras and the smack talking is brother thick!!! My friend loves to tell the story how every time he runs into Jordan or his buddies he yells at him..."Keep your money!" and laughs his butttt off...see when you make a challenge you need to step up...when you lose a bet...you need to pay up and not go ..double or nothing!!
I owe you dinner Amat 73 for at least having the class to be the bigger man and see the bigger picture...as usual COCF is all talk and no substance!
Ruth Chris sound okay? Going to see the Lancers tomorrow...got a seat for me...I do want o hear what old Amat foggies talk about during a game...I promise ..I'll just listen....I know who's house I'm in...lol
Trying to see if the tailgating is a good as they say...lol
there goes COChargerfan telling people what they obviously intended when they wrote what they wrote - instead of just reading what they wrote. that's got him in trouble since his first post.
COChargerfan,
First , you should read what you are posting instead of writing off the top of your head and letting it rip. Second your guilt by association theory on kh which I never said anything of the sort only asked, he we go again and you will probably dance around this like usual, are you going to defend him as you did when an AMAT honk wrote about his grammar skills or lack of them because you want to spin it as defending public education instead of the true just another oppertunity to blast an AMAT honk to justify your hate so be it. But your biggest mistake and I do mean biggest mistake was when you wrote that the Haden teams were good , oh how wrong you are my friend. WE WERE GREAT AND YES FAR FAR FAR SUPERIOR TO ANYONE ELSE IN THE SGV AT THAT TIME. We had a 3 year run when absolutley no one could touch us and it was capped off with the 72 team going undefeated in Gentleman John Sciarra's senior year. There I have put in print now you can come after this AMAT honk for the far far far post. What really bothers you even though you care to dodge every piece of fact thrown at you is yes we are on our way back to the top and granted we still have a long to go but we are back and there is not thing you can do about it . You can post and post and post and slam us all you want but it will not change the fact we are going in the right direction and that is really what the heart of your problem is. Now how about that golf game . My Friend Sparta already has the charity of his choice picked out and maybe if you beat me on the course that will give you somethign you can post on the blog as to how you took the AMAT honk down at the course.
AMAT 73…you knew exactly what you were doing by mentioning me with kh and whatever racial slurs that he might have used…why else was there a need to dredge up this old news? None, zero, nada but you did it to attack my character, which has become the standard Amat honk response. It is called “guilt by association” and goes like this…kh is a racist and COChargerfan is a defender of kh, THERFORE, COChargerfan must also be a racist. It is just more of the same garbage along the line of the mixing and matching word games that you cats are playing…COChargerfan says this but does the opposite…isn’t this true?
And I’m not personally offended in the least bit about Amat’s outrageous claims…just amused with the lack of empirical evidence to support them.
Long Response…I also saw some Amat games during the Haden days in person…they were that good then…does that make the current era teams far, far, far superior? What does 30 years ago have to do with the present? Do you think that I’m making up the Pac-5 loses to lower “D” teams…how do they fit into the Pac-5 is far, far, far superior argument? They don’t mean anything to you?
Amat certainly looks good this year but before the season even the Amat honks thought that they were staring at a .500 record. So they’ve done an incredible job by winning every game but other than the St. Bonnie game…which they won via two great plays and others are saying is their weakest team in years…who has Amat beaten? A 1-4 Dominguez, a 1-5 Damien, a banged up WC team, a 1-5 D’Ranch whose only win is against a 1-5 Muir team and a 3-3 St. Paul team whose own wins are against bad teams?
Is the current version of LB Poly who they were last year? They aren’t even a shadow of last year’s title team. Check out my response on the will Amat go undefeated THIS YEAR thread…just how good are their remaining opponents? As shown by the game results of the current versions of ND and Crespi, they are also not anywhere near previous year’s teams.
I’m not offended…just happen to think that there is more parity than most…especially between the middle of the road Pac-5 teams and good teams from other divisions. And, the good teams from the other divisions are actually much better than the bottom 10 from the Pac-5…not my opinion but based upon the records, which don’t lie no matter what some people might believe their eyes are telling them.
Joey and Amat 73...funny thing happened when me and randy made "nice". After seeing me call plays in advance, predict the score and break down "human" film on the fly randy tells me...You know...YOU KNOW YOUR SHT!".....HERE'S A SECRET THAT I HOPE WON'T OFFEND RANDY...
Getting that "compliment" meant what really? My coaches were Aguirre, Bjornson, Rollinson and Ruedaflores...who were his? No offense randy I'm just making an honest point here.
Now if Roddy Layton or Greg Gano tell me...Frank you really know your football!"...that would mean something...to me that is. In truth...and I've said this to many Damien Dads and on this blog...what's scary about what I know about football is it's a grain of sand compared to "real" coaches..so what does that say about them?
Everything I say I was taught. I wasn't a very good athlete but I was a great student...you have to be when you play safety and run a 5.4 40...NO LIE!!! ..and I was a Captain and called Defensive signals...LOL
See after all was said and done...randy hated me and came after me, like some Damien Dads have, based off of what?...knowing more than them..and saying so? I went to last weeks DHS practices and left thinking 42-17...at best...what was the final? 38-7?
When I say Bishop Amat is far, far, far superior to what the San Gabriel Valley has to offer I say this after being on the field...actually...ON THE FIELD...against....Notre Dame, Crespi, St. Francis, St. Anthony's, LB Poly, Banning, St John Bosco, Pius X, Verbum Dei, Alemany, ect ect ect..
I'll make no apologies for what I my eyes have seen...maybe thats why I love seeing DR play...they remind me of Salesian teams...tough, stubborn, mean, hard hitting and playing the best...Bryan Bonilla could play anywhere...what a passionate player...Roddy Layton reminds me of the young Salesian coaches before they left to bigger and better things.
So COChargerFan why are you offended or need to refute the far far superior perspective when Amat Lancer have seen true greats wear blue and gold, played against true greats and have current history of teh greatest wins in the SGV curently...OLU, Crespi, St. Bonnie's by far and know of what they speak.
Here's the point COCF...not everyone is as honest or as bright as randy when it comes to giving some one there due...
Say it with me...Bishop Amat plays at a far, far superior level..with "these" athletes...imagine what they must have looked in their hey day..I saw them three times...and they were incredible. Open your eyes, close your mouth and free your mind.
How did you bring me back in. Did you not mention me in the golf game with no guts , second coming , that was you who wrote it. I did not say you defended kh's comments only that you bashed an AMAT blogger when they made light of it but never said a word when any other blogger did the same . Bonita people have been blasting him for quite a while on that point but only when beloved AMAT honks do it do you became the defender of kh. Never did I write you defended his racial slurs which are in print if you care to look and I am sure many others will atest to them being there so read my post again I never accused you defending it just asked if you were going to defend him now . So now we have you calling me a low life azz hole because you can't comprehend a persons writing or because the person is an AMAT honk you can't see straight and start with fire and brimstone replies. Now you come up with we have a well earned reputation on bringing drinking cups to games. Where did you get that from , the blog or another one of those second had sources. I surely can't picture you at AMAT and finding out for yourself if it true or not , you would rather make your judgement on what you read or hear second hand .AMAT'S case that is fine enough for you. The reason I went back to see where this started was to see if maybe I had missed something about this because you are really consumed by AMAT and the honks of AMAT,you know somewhat trying to give you the benefit of the doubt. Many had tried to tell you your rath was started by a non AMAT blogger but you chose to ignore those posts to only continue . By the way how about that golf game because My Friend Sparta has already gone to the bank and I am headed to the range for a little tune up on the short game. Now you see I can put all this aside because it is the blog and still want to play a little golf and make some money for charity and have a cold brew and stoogie after 18 so you can really get to know what an AMAT honk is really like in person and not second hand or by posts on a blog.
-If he writes at October 20, 2009 4:16 PM "Here’s the deal…you show up at the big boy course with NO GUTS & Amat 73 and we’ll have a foursome…" when you haven't written on this post he just doesn't remember "how did I bring you back into this again" but if you make a mistake "this is a total fabrication and this BOLD FACED LIE"
-if he writes it then it's "for fun" & it's ok - if you write it - it's not & you're a "low-life a-hole."
-he can spend all night writing a novel to post at 5 AM as a response when Joe kicks his @$$ but if you reread some posts then you need to get a life.
COChargerfan - don't you seriously think if kh would have attended Amat instead of a public school then perhaps he would write better? perhaps?
COChargerfan,
You take the cake. YOUR posts always come back to haunt you. YOU were the first to use "far, far, far superior" and now others mock you with the very phrase. YOU say you have a higher "moral compass than others" yet you criticize others for claiming superiority and now YOU first write "don't tempt me"... only to turn around and call it childish. Do you drink in the morning? Or is you memory just that bad?
Actually, if you've been playing along for a while, as you claim, you'd know my take on Chris Allen. I loved Chris Allen as an athlete and his leadership abilities. Here's a quote from this paper,
"It's a bitter-sweet feeling for me," said Allen, who threw for 2,008 yards and 23 touchdowns in leading Charter Oak to the Southeast Division title this past fall."It's hard. I'm going to miss it. I would have liked to play D-I in football, and thought I had the potential, but (college) coaches thought otherwise...I understood that concept of playing JC or Division II but I thought I was Division I caliber and didn't want to settle for less,"
So it doesn't appear that it was much of a choice when he took a late partial scholarship at a state school (you do know that D1's have to split their 11.5 allotted scholarships among the entire 25+ players on the roster) Ask those that know (please - don't take my word for it) how they think Allen would have done had he *achieved the same statistics* and *exhibited the same leadership* at a Bishop Amat or another school at a far, far, far superior level of play. First - you must be confident that he could match that performance... since levels of play don't matter... right?
I'll tell you exactly what I think... I think he'd be on a full football scholarship playing the sport he wanted to play - instead of settling for a partial baseball scholarship. Because he would have *proved* that he could do it against *quality competition*.... which is the real question in recruiters minds. I've had those conversations with coaches about other players and THAT'S what goes through their mind. Can he get it done? Anyone that doesn't want to admit that only does so because they don't WANT to admit that.
Just to break it up and have some fun.... here's a great question for you to ignore (but it's a non-threatening trivia question - so you might play along)
*** Who is the last player to play Quarterback in the San Gabriel Valley to play in the NFL?***
Maybe if the Guru or FJR are reading they can pitch in. I've asked it before... but you may not remember.
Now BTW - the real numbers ARE 10-2. Just because you say you're "not a historian" (although you do a pretty good job researching MaxPreps and College rosters)Trust me - you would have found them if they were there and you don' t think someone here would have pitched in with the others... or is it just you and me reading this? The hilarity of it all is that YOU asked the initial question about D1 players - I simply answered it. When the numbers didn't work out for you (not sure what you were expecting) Rancho Cucamonga got in the mix, then JC kids... again, circling the drain looking for something to grab onto. Was it Napoleon that said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."? Sorry I let you flounder.
A mistake is made once on a single post, not multiple times on multiple posts on multiple days. Can't pawn that off to "proofreading" before you hit submit. And you continue to make them ... in multiple topics. Mistakes include ignoring that which has been written.. over and over and over. For years (you've been reading - not posting - for a couple now ... right?)I've been writing that Amat could lose to ANY team on their schedule. I write it almost weekly. So there goes your theory that your making some revelation that a lower division "could" win. I've never written that they couldn't . what I have written is that the level of play in the top division is superior. You said FAR, FAR, FAR SUPERIOR... so I said yes - far, far, far superior. If you read yesterday I recognized the strength of the Alemany squad that's coming into Keifer.... as well as all the schools on our schedule. remember - that's how your supposed to schedule. Play people that will challenge you to make you better. Teams that you need to come and execute - not just show up - to win. THAT actually has been the focus of this entire exchange.
Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. - - Lord Chesterfield
No affiliation???? So you were lying that you have a kid that is an AP/IB student at CO and when he graduates you'll never go to another game? if so, you're falling into DRanchhhh territory of fabricating stories for effect. Is that what you did... or do you have that affiliation? Which is it? And I think YOU made the CO/Amat parallel when you mistakenly tried to relay a "true story" (which you heard second hand from an administrator that was sharing private personnel issues) that proved to be an "un-true story" about some Amat teacher being "un-hired" at CO because they weren't qualified. That WAS you that used Amat and CO in trying to make a comparison... wasn't it?
And here's the funny thing that happens when you bring up these "lower division" powers like Alemany, Oaks, St Bonnies, and La Habra. What is the common thread? They ALL step up and CHOOSE to play quality teams in the pre-league. I WISH we could lump Charter Oak into that group. Why can't we? You tell me. That only speaks to EXACTLY what I've been saying. The kids deserve a chance to play. We are comparing the *level of play* in the entire division as a whole. Have been since the very beginning. So yes, according to that I ABSOLUTELY believe that Oaks Christian Division 10 is several notches below the Pac5 without any doubt (although CalPreps has that Division ranked ahead of D7.. but we won't tell) You see Oaks and Serra are those homes in Bradbury that scew the overall strength of the division. Just like a few top teams like Charter Oak and South Hills screw the overall strength of D7. How do you think the average (typical) team like Mary Star of the Sea or Cantwell, or Bosco Tech would compete with the average Pac5 team? Similarly that good D7 Bell Gardens team struggles against an awful Pac5 team. Last year, by definition, the wild-card Lancers could be considered average. How would they do against Nipomo?
But now your talking about "competing" when before it was only who "wins it all". CO gets credit for "competing" with a much larger school like Rancho ... yet Amat has one of the smallest enrollments in the Pac5 - which I'm not sure if I mentioned is annually one of the best divisions in the nation? Have I said that... I forget. The schools in the Moore, Sunset, and South Coast leagues dwarf the enrollment of RC and are several times larger than Amat's 1400 and change. So now is it size and "competing" we're talking about? Oh, good! All I know is that, even according to your most recent definition (which contradicts your earlier definition), Amat MORE than "competed" with Long Beach Poly and their nearly 5000 students, when they were the #1 team in the nation in the top DIVISION in the nation. Would you call playing for the league title the final game of the season in the #1 ranked LEAGUE in the NATION at least "competing". Beating the preseason #1 team during league... would THAT be competing? Just trying to get all these straight.
Interestingly enough you want to talk about now yet you go back and back and back to indicate losses Amat has suffered, (which only goes to prove my oft written my point that on any given friday.) and we come to the final loss you mention against Valencia... the same year we destroyed Charter Oak and they asked out of the final year of the contract. I thought we didn't want to go back that far? Or we do? Which? I get so confused.
And finally props to Will Harris at USC. He's carrying on a long standing SGV/USC tradition beginning with Adrian Young, Pat Haden, JK McKay, Paul McDonald, Randy Tanner, John Jackson, Scott Fields, Daylon McCutcheon, Rodney Sermons, Jason Leach and all the great Bishop Amat Lancers who have excelled for my Trojans in their MANY victories over the Irish. So Will needs to recruit just a few more Chargers to catch up.
... and COChargerfan.... first you're still "choosing" to ignore some questions... tsk, tsk, tsk....and... yes. from the sound of it ... it IS just you.
Amat 73, how did I bring you back into this again…or, are you the appointed family spokesperson this morning? Do you really have the time to go back and re-read all my posts...wow...get a life. I respond off the top of my head and let her rip which is why I occasionally type mistakes.
Some of your stuff is total garbage like me defending kh’s comments…never happened…nor have I ever agreed with any racial slurs that he may or may not have used…this is a total fabrication and this BOLD FACED LIE deserves an appropriate response… you are truly a low-life a-hole to make up this crap. You have my permission to quote me on that one pal.
Here’s what I recall, kh posted some inane comments with the usual all caps misspellings and some Amat honks come out of the blue and say stuff like if kh would have attended Amat instead of a public school than perhaps he would write better. This was a blast at the public education system, to which I responded…never ever defended kh and I recall later saying this again with the comments that he doesn’t need anyone for defense because he can kick all of our butts…don’t remember that do you…again, so we’re clear you are a BOLD FACED LIAR.
Now, I’ve make a few comments for fun like the bud bowl comment…my recollection is that I joked with a D’Ranch honk that was bragging about beating Amat that he should drink up because it was going to be a long night…isn’t that so? You and I both know that Amat fans have a well-earned reputation for bringing plastic cups to the games, are you denying this? Here’s a revelation for you, I have nothing against a responsible adult consuming a cold frosty brew before the game as long as this is in moderation and doesn’t lead to any trouble. And, I never said I was perfect…just forgiven. Are you perfect?
All you guys ever want to talk about is me just to redirect the sheep’s attention away from the real issue…do everyone a favor and address the LOGIC AND REASONING in my latest post...because everything else is just blather (I just love this word so I’m using it whenever I can).
COChargerfan,
Since you threw me into this again as I had been on the sidelines only reading and not replying for a while now I will jump back in with what i read last night. I went back to when all this started to see what exactly triggered your posts. First thing was the far, far, far post. You started right off on that when in fact was not even posted by an AMAT honk as you like to write but by my backer in this golf game. You came out blasting away. Then there was the affirmative action post that set you off. Again my backer in the golf game who by the way gets it and was only posting his excitment for AMAT in the way the program is going to the effect of coaching matters which is the heart of the matter on the " GET IT " phrase. Yes it did post a few things on you being shallow and having a vendetta agaist us but that was in reply to your NPD and having the camera ready and other choice words you wrote which you chose to explain as symbolisms or whatever you used as your reasons. Then I came across a post on another thread where you refer again to the NPD and there must be something in the water in La Puente that is causing it or all the Bud being consumed in the field before games and relate our game with DR as the Bud Bowl. Kind of showing some true colors their on your thoughts and ideas toward the people of 2 cities and schools . This coming from a man who was quoting Bible passages and boasting of a higher moral fiber. As I have said many times to you before just be honest and take the blog for what it is , a place where people can let off steam or brag about their school or as many do which I can't see and never will or ever have knock a hogh school kid for their perfomance on the field. The one thing that really was off the wall was you coming on here to defend K.H when and only whena person from AMAT mention his lack of writing skills which wasn't even and AMAT honk there it is again but you saw fit to blast away. Now are you going to defend him on his racist slur toward the indain doctor ( his spelling not mine) and to the effect that he was thru with 7-11 and now going to AM-PM's instead.Just for once answer that question without all the other analogies thrown in. To My friend Sparta when on the course on do not drink but I do have a tendency to talk an awful lot somewhat like one of my hero's Lee Trevino who like Tin Cup is from Texas. Get the funds ready because it should be an interesting match. Where are we playing Glendora or South Hills CC.
jcaz, I do apologize for bringing your name into this but despite my previous comments to Joey about mistakes, he continue to harp about such nonsense...so what better example of this absurdity than people calling you a homo because of a simply mistake in a joke? Does Joey get it...yeah...will he stop????
Again, I'm sorry for dragging you into this sorted mess.
Sorry Fred J for the length of this post and thanks for allowing bloggers the opportunity to exchange thoughts.
I guess it is still on. Hey “please”, you’re confused…do you have a point about JC kids or just blathering because it looks like the latter? I did say that some kids wind up at JC’s because of academic issues and not talent…when did I say otherwise? It appears that you are taking classes from Joey in how to grab two different comments and meld them into one to try to prove I misspoke. And the 10-2 D1 number is garbage…remember the discussion was that Joey counted EVERY Amat D1 player and asked me if CO had any…I responded that I wasn’t a CO historian but knew of 2 kids that were playing with the “caveat’ that there were others which I just don’t know about….just another example of ignoring context and focusing on what you want to hear. I did peruse the Citrus and Mt. Sac rosters and the score was 10 CO kids to 2 Amat kids…to which you guys starting screaming junk like now you want to count JC kids…apparently your selective memory prevents you from remembering this fact. Only the ill-informed and their sheep fall for the juvenile gag of grabbing miscellaneous comments and putting them together to “put words” into someone’s mouth. And CO’s QB, Chris Allen, took a baseball scholarship…it appears that your QB will follow the same sort of path.
And, Tee it Off, I play golf and don’t do shooters, that’s with an EVER…so if you want to play “beer-pong” on the gold course, count me out. And you cats called me out so I’m not playing for charity…I want the satisfaction of taking a vacation with your hard earned cash.
And, Joey…too much of your garbage doesn’t even warrant my time….do you know that your comments on “tempt me” and “manly” make you sound like a six year old? What’s next…nana, nana, nana? The “list” is the ongoing folklore that you keep ignoring…and obviously don’t want published the same way you ignore that CO has 10 JC football players vs. Amat’s 2. Or how using your logic the D10 school Oaks Christian is 9 rungs inferior to Amat? Just doesn’t fit your arguments, does it…so you attack me for putting it up again…pretty much your shtick is to ignore the details of the argument and, instead, mix and match comments and apply a non-contextual spin to try to make me look like a fool. Your problem is that the “list” doesn’t go away…so to remind you I’ll kept posting it every time you try to personally slam me. Don’t like the Tin Cup movie I see…or just not the part where Roy’s perception of being superior because of “challenging himself” is called “a feeble and transparent effort to do yourself credit” and also “horsesh@% in staggering amounts?” Hey Joey, I didn’t write the script so they are not my words. I also did not do the clinic work on NPD…so don’t blame me because you fit some of the characteristics. And for the umpteenth time, I have absolutely NO affiliation with CO…I said this as recently as yesterday…didn’t you read my comments to “second coming”? Of course you did, but you say it anyway because of the need spin this into an Amat vs. CO argument….again, CO has NEVER been part of the subject...more of your misdirection crapola.
More Joey-isms comparing your D7 to my good middle sized school comments in an attempt to make it look like you are praising and I’m knocking CO. Here’s the reality…you have explicitly said that D7 is 6 rungs lower on the skill level than Amat so your D7 “praise” is really a back-handed slight…isn’t it Joey? If it wasn’t, you would just call CO a good football program but, no, you need to qualify it with the D7 to knock them down a few pegs…isn’t that right? And my very good middle-sized school comments were in the context of CO competing with Rancho Cucamonga even though they are a much larger school (1900 to 2900 kids). So my comments have nothing to do with a school’s “D” level and yours do…more apples and oranges…at least you’re getting your daily allowance of fruits. Talking about fruits…is jcaz one just because he misspoke (not that there’s anything wrong with fruits)? Same goes to my mistake of mistyping LEAGUE instead of DIVISION…more focusing on an honest mistake to attack the person instead of the argument. Joey, I can’t help that you’re still pissed that CO’s Will Harris made a nice play to beat your Notre Dame team...beats being posterized by a mile, doesn’t it?
Now we’re into comparing real estate values in a 20,000-person town to a 29-team football division…apples to oranges. But you need this because Joey got caught with his pants down in the PAC-5 Division is far, far, far superior argument that he’s been making for years…hmm, prior to being slapped upside the head by the cold hard facts that the bottom hall of the PAC-5 routinely gets beat by those lowly “D” teams, I never heard you mention that the PAC-5 is split into multiple levels. Could it be that you are now admitting that you were wrong to blanket use the MaxPreps and CalPreps DIVISION rankings to claim superiority? No way that Joey is ever wrong…so now we get this lame uh, uh, uh answer that its not fair to compare the top teams of the inferior DIVISIONS to the bottom half of the Pac-5…why Joey, why isn’t it…aren’t there 29 teams in the Pac-5? No, you only what to compare Amat to the very best teams in the Pac-5, some of which are certainly the best teams in the State, and ignore the bottom teams. Why...because you believe that this proves that you are also one of the best teams in the State…I’ve previously called this “greatness by association”, remember? The reality check is that greatness is measured by winning and not for accepting some mythical challenge of competing in the same Division as the greats. Is Cabrillo great? Remember, Molly called Roy out on this exact same argument saying it was “a feeble and transparent effort to do yourself credit” and that he suffered from “…inner crapola, inner debris... garbage... loose wires…horsesh@% in staggering amounts.” Joey, you can attempt to deny it, argue another spin, say its just a movie but the fact remains is that this is EXACTLY what Molly was talking about...and art mimics life…doesn’t it or shall we now ignore your Shakespeare and Picasso examples? So, the measure of greatness is PAC-5 title…so how many does Amat own?
We have now come full circle to what I’ve been saying from the beginning, each team is judged individually regardless of division and yes Joey, the league (see MaxPrep’s disclaimer which states the same), that a team’s “D” number (which CIF has abandoned) is meaningless in terms of comparing it’s skill level to another team and the best teams from Joey’s “lower level D’s” would compete in the Pac-5 so the far, far, far superior assertion is a myth. Now before some of you get your panties in a bunch, I have NEVER said that one of the non Pac-5 teams would win a Serra League or CIF Division title…only that they could compete…and for proof I use the scores from games where the Pac-5 teams have lost to lower “D” teams. Remember folks, that Alemany team who Amat has up next is a D3 team…so why not just compare the mismatch of the “D’s”, give Amat a win and forget about playing the game? And Joey, all that matters is that Bell Gardens won and it doesn’t matter how…so now you are arguing that their win really wasn’t a win? If you are, then you need to discard your win over St. Bonnie because without the pick for a TD they would have won…but, BG got the comeback and Amat got the pick and both got “W’s”, which is all that matters for the scoreboard.
More selective memory about wins while ignoring the losses…last year you also had 4 loses including to Los Osos (who lost in semi’s of the D5 playoffs… Rancho Cucamonga was the eventual Champ) and Loyola (who lost to Alemany who in turn lost in the D3 playoffs…so Alemany wasn’t even the best D3 team). The year before Amat had 7 losses including to Los Osos (a first round D5 playoff loser) and Alemany. The year before that was 5 losses including to D6 Valencia…who was an 8-loss team that didn’t even make the playoffs…that’s a big ouch!!!, The year before that was 4 losses including to Valencia. The list goes on and on…yeah, Amat has had some very big wins against excellent teams but at the same time they have also been beat by lower “D” teams.
Maybe it is just me but I believe that this proves my point that on any given night any good team has a chance regardless of their “D” marker. And, accordingly, the far, far, far superior notion of the Pac-5 over the other “D’s” is crapola.
come on guys keep it up its getting good..... COCHARGERFAN its okay the only good thing AMAT has is the in-n-out stand at the games
COChargerfan, I’m beginning to think you like this kind of stuff.
Anyway, as for the homo reference, Yikes!
I guess it just go to show you that so far, my feeble and let us say, solo attempt at a reconciliation here, just isn’t going to work. In fact, I kinda get the impression that your a lost cause kiddo. I mean, it just seems as if no one wants to be your friend in here and I am beginning to see why. Oh well, such is life I suppose.
Oh, and one more thing here, I’ll just go ahead and bow out of this discussion from now on so that the next time you feel that you need to make a comment in the direction of Joe, you won’t have to reference me so much ok.
"Tempt me"... Get back at it? OH NOOOOO! that would be terrible. HAHA! Good one. I'd hate to do that. You do sound pretty "manly" there... certainly wouldn't want to "call out (your) manhood ". You can leave it put away - thank you very much. ( we don't want to get jcaz excited! [j/k jcaz]) It was pretty simple.. you said you were done. No one said anything.. yet you couldn't pass up an opportunity to throw in the Tin Cup foolishness. I think the real Tin Cup analogy would have been if Roy just dominated his dirt patch, and STILL demanded respect for being better than those on the tour. That's really what we're talking about here - aren't we?
Were you really just called "gutless"? I mean what really happened is it was brought to your attention that you avoide... ignor... no must have "inadvertently missed" some key questions and it could be looked at as safe, vanilla, or gutless. You could have responded... but instead you re-pasted your rant from a while back. Safe? Vanilla? Or Gutless? Which one? Or still "picking and choosing"? "A rose by any other name...."
Maybe we had a "choice" to get closer to an understanding had you "chosen" to address those questions asked. Only you know why you chose not to. Maybe it's because of your affiliation with CO. Birds of a feather? (after all - that's the contention on how they schedule the games they "choose") So you see there is another one of your misrepresentations... or was it a mistake? You just wrote, " ...I continually disclaim having any connection to CO..." Certainly inconsistent... didn't you say your son is a student. That's at least an equivalent affiliation to most bloggers here and their allegance to their school. Administrators who are "friends" that share intimate personnel details from personal files. Correct or incorrect - sounds "connected" to me. Maybe it was just another mistake... or a lie... it all gets so blurry by now. Would any jury in the land believe anything you say at this point? I mean... since you have that "formal legal training" you speak of... what's your "educated opinion"? No loss of credibility yet? Sounds like the voice of public opinion on the blog is speaking, by the lack of backers you have to this point. It used to be that Amat was on the other end of that "public opinion" vote. Thanks SO much for that (and I am very impressed with your transcript... thanks for sharing.. I mean TWO years of statistics AND "Logic and Critical Reasoning". Boy am I in trouble!:?)
Let's stipulate this to get it out of the way first. I think that Charter Oak is a GREAT D7 program and you think they are a good middle-sized school. Just so we're square. I think Amat is a pretty good Pac5 program fighting to get back to the very top and you... well ... you root for them sometimes.
At least you finally are starting to admit with your own words what you've been spreading. Folklore. Quite often this type of folklore is passed on by word of mouth and that's what leads to the mistakes, misinformation, and inconsistencies you've been floundering in. Folklore often borders on mythology, ghost stories, urban legends, rumors, old wives tales, conspiracy theories, and flat out gossip. Most of which wouldn't pass the Snopes test. That's where we're at with much of what you try to pass off.
You see it's not "attacking in packs. You say "the 8 guys are all from the same pride, err “Amat Family”, but in reality some are actually from CO (you talk about "eating their own"!) and another -who you've retorted to a number of times under different aliases went to Salesian, his kids go to Damien, and is SO not an"Amat Honk" that he worked less than a mile away, his kids went to school in the neighborhood, yet CHOSE to send his kids elsewhere, as he has every right to do. But he's bright enough and open enough to "get it" (See it's not just the "Amat Family")
As to "where we disagree", it is pretty simple. The Pac5-Division1-5 best LEAGUES as determined by CIF or whatever you want to call it is a far, far, far superior *level* than the Southeast/D7. And that all started when someone simply said to watch a game on TV and see that is WAY different than the games in the SGV. Either you had tailgated too much, had a heavy postgame, didn't get the seat you wanted or were just ticked that you just had to watch Charter Oak squeak by an inferior opponent like Gardena.
And I didn't even enter the fray until you inexplicably asked to compare NCAA Division1 athletes. If I remember Amat had 10 and you came up with 2. At that point you were circling proverbial toilet drain looking for something to grab onto... and we know what that usually is. So you tried to explain that 10 is only 2 per year and that's not so many. However its far, far, far more than .4 per year - isn't it? Because you're the one with two years of statistics.
And if you paid attention in statistics or Logic and Critical Reasoning you would understand that you can't compare the TOP of one division to the BOTTOM of another division and make a valid comparison. That's would be like saying that Duarte is a great community to buy a home in because Forbes Mag counts the 91008 as the 4th most expensive in the nation. However the homes in Bradbury (same zip code) effect that price drastically. So you would judge the area *as a whole* by what the majority of homes are like, wouldn't you? Not one or two... the majority
Just because a lower division has a team or two that might compare on one night out of ten, does not mean that the average teams compare. And it's not like the Pac5 only has one or two team at the elite level. The division is deep. Last year the 16th seeded wild-card gave hefty scare to the #1 team in the nation. So who is "average" in the Pac5? St John Bosco? Tesoro? Could *average* D7 teams like Los Altos, or San Gabriel compete with them on a consistent basis? Not once - consistently. Geez, 6th ranked Bell Gardens needed a late comeback to beat Cabrillo - the *worst* Pac5 team ever. Fountain Valley is the 6th ranked Pac5 team. Seriously. And it certainly doesn't mean that the weakest teams compare. How would the present 2-4 Wilson team or 1-5 Mark Keppel stack up against a 2-4 LB Poly team or a 1-5 LB Jordan? Those teams could play a hundred times and the D7 teams may not ever win. LB Poly won 80 Moore league games in a row.. some against TOP teams. So a hundred... yeah, I really believe that. And do you really believe that the top few teams in the Southeast like Rowland, CO or Burbank could match up with Edison, Servite, or Mission Viejo on a regular basis? Not once - regularly. I've already said for the past two years we could lose to any team on our schedule. So I'm not talking about the "lightning in a bottle" phenomenon, and never have been, but rather who is at whose *level*.... consistently. We've found that "lightning in a bottle" during each of our big pre-league games the past two years... is that consistent? Maybe not yet. But it might be becoming a trend.
And it is quite logical and not a quantum leap at all that the teams who are "competitive" in the Pac5 can "compete" with the best teams in the nation. I'll even let you define "competitive"... just remember things you've written... I will use your words against you. Last year, in week "sub-zero", Long Beach Poly went to Miami and beat Northwestern at their own game... speed. I got a call from a friend in the east and posted that night to watch out for the Jackrabbits. Look it up. Came back to haunt us. Northwestern was 15-0 National Champs the previous year and last year was runner-up in the state of Florida) Notre Dame knocks off Klein(Tx) this year. Consistently the Pac5 performs and we are proud to be a part of that tradition. Keep in mind... even during our string of sub-Lancer finishes - we compete and beat top teams like Mater Dei, Servite, Loyola (during their championship season), St Paul (during their championship season), Rancho Cucamonga (your favorite) and even the mighty Charter Oak Chargers. Is that "achieving"... or no?
Achievement and Success has been a point of contention. I can't believe an intelligent guy like you *really* believes what you write. Your kid doesn't know - does he? It could cost you tons in therapy later. You have indicated it's winning "The Big Game". Did Charter Oak "achieve" in '07? Not according to you. Undefeated in league and only lost the first & last game of the year. But didn't win "the Big Game". That's the standard - yes? Disappointed in the result... absolutely. Proud of their achievements - they better be. A success... In my book - but apparently not yours. I won't tell the other COChargerfans from that year how you feel - it's safe with me.
So since you wanted to know where exactly we disagree - we can start there. And we can make a deal too. I'll answer your little fallacies... I mean folklore, as soon as you state your opinion on the questions I asked of you. Then we might better "understand".
"All truth passes through three stages. First it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." Arthur Schopenhauer
Self-evident should be just around the corner. My advice is always free. And worth every penny.
COChargerFan ...I'm in for a cool grand against Amat 73 on one condition....okay make that two conditions...one you pick the most and pay for the most exclusive course you can into and two you have to slam shots before every tee shot.
I know Amat 73 pretty well and no matter how good you think you ar by the back nine Amat 73, like his Lancers, will wear you down!!!
As far as My Pal Joey...well here's the problem...Joey has a problem with pubic appearances so we'll have to go on Scout's Honor here...Joey plays teh course and emails Fred with the score to be relieved at the end of Amat 73 and your round....wait...condition three...Fred needs to be my ringer and his Pops is my "ringer"....deal?
Money goes to Charity! $3,000....plus your one makes a nice check for the winner's Charity.....oh what about me? I'll drive....I figure between Amat 73's drinking farting and burping and my non stop chattering plus Fred's "Gee thanks guys" and his Pops..."advice"...COChargerFan your game will suffer enough for us to win....and if nothing else...Amat 73 gets on a course he's never played on and as a reward he'll admit...in his drunken state that Lawrence Taylor was a better linebacker than Jack Lambert!!!!
What do you say...deal????
I didn't know kids go to Junior Colleges solely because they don't have "the talent". I thought they go their sometimes because they don't have the required GPA and SAT/ACT scores. I must be wrong because COChargerguy said so. What a moron. 1-2 DI's out? Most schools don't get ANY and you're shaking a stick at 1-2. I guess that's how bums think. To prove my point, I would have voted your quarterback last year was the player of the year. Did he get a football scholarship? I don't know where he is, but if he's at a JC, is it because he didn't have the talent? BUM, that's what you are. Keep swimming in the waiting pool, AMAT'll jump off the diving board!
Hey just saying', you called me “gutless” pal. Sorry to disappoint you jcaz…I’m man enough to walk away from an argument but if someone calls out my manhood then I have to respond...otherwise, guys like just saying are going to use my silence for validation...wow, before I even posted this I see that Joey and others have done just that.
I know who you are just sayin’…you’re the wimp that slapped his brother when he wasn’t looking and when you got punched in the face in return, ran off crying to his momma sayin’ that his brother just hit him. And, the repost is irony...because we are still going "round and round and round" and are not anywhere nearer to being able to "settle the discussion once and for all." This was my point…are you and the other Amat honks ready yet to answer the top 10 list of folklore? Should we add the new folklore that the Pac-5 DIVISION consists of the top, middle and bottom teams and make it the top 11? The list is actually bigger…do you really want me to expand it?
And “second coming”, I don’t know Frank but, hypothetically, if I’m older than him, wouldn’t that make him the second coming of me…just something to think about…please don’t hurt yourself trying to figure this out. And, anyone with a scintilla of class knows that telling someone to “shut up” is obnoxious so why don’t you take your own advice…or do you have a forked tongue? Perhaps you’ve been hanging out too much with the old lady at that dump Boomers...boy, you know how to have a good time. Here’s the deal…you show up at the big boy course with NO GUTS & Amat 73 and we’ll have a foursome…I'll take your cat’s three grand, pack up my wife, and head to Pebble Beach again. If you’re going to talk the talk you better be able to walk the walk, otherwise you are just another bag of hot air. Finally “second coming”…pay attention because I continually disclaim having any connection to CO and specifically state that what I say simply represents my own opinion. Should we impute your obnoxious “shut up” comment to be a representation of whatever school that you root for or conclude that just because you are then EVERYONE from that school is also obnoxious? Heck, I went to another HS so are my comments also “doing” them? Kind of a silly presumption, isn’t it?
And 12 days, the 8 guys are all from the same pride, err “Amat Family”, so it is attacking in packs…as Joey acknowledged, they’ve done it to other bloggers before. And, interesting choice of words because the difference between Joey and I is that I actually took college exams…including 2 years of statistic’s courses, a class in Logic and Critical Reasoning, formal legal training, etc, etc, etc and Joey is sporting his wrinkled Amat diploma and wearing his letterman’s jacket. The one thing about me is that I’m willing to discuss where I’m wrong…so where exactly do you disagree? Remember, this discussion is about Amat’s claim to being a far, far, far superior football program to every team in the SGV and IE, their assertion that there is more honor to lose at the Pac-5 level than win a lesser “D” Title, that by their mere inclusion in the Pac-5 makes them equals with the best teams in the country, that the Pac-5 is a far, far, far superior Division, oops, revise that…the top teams are better than the other top teams, the middle are better than the middle, yada, yada, yada and that the public education system is inferior to Amat’s…everything else is just babble that Joey throws out to try to redirect the focus from these issues, so ignore it. Seriously, I’m interested in your response on these issues.
Hey Joey, is jcaz a homo because his words indicate same…or was this an honest mistake? Joey, don’t tempt me pal or else we’ll be back at it…
cochargerfan is arguing with at least 8 bloggers yet he needs to shut his mouth and be the bigger man? I think he's wrong on several fronts and hits a nerve on others. does he flank and reposition himself during "battle" of course...who wouldn't? arguing with my pal joey is like taking a college oral exam...either you know what you're talking about or prepare to be humiliated...lol
"are you the second coming" types of bloggers remind me of how monkeys fight...they sling their own feces at each other....throw away my stalker buddy but remember to lick your fingers...your mother did....OUCH!!!!!
LMAO
all in fun...all in fun...sorry about the mother joke...it worked in high school with bullies and knuckleheads so seeing as its ALWAYS juvenile with you...I figured you get a giggle out of the joke.
12 days is good right?
We shouldn't blame COChargerfan. If he "chooses" not to address things I pose - that's fine. We have noticed the "picking & choosing" for some time now.
I simply gave him an out a few days ago by suggesting that "Discretion is the better part of valor". If you were to look up the Shakespeare play that it's paraphrased from - it fits perfect in this case.
It is noticeable that he says he's done, then rehashes his rant chock full of contradictions. But that's been his schtick from the get-go. To go with inconsistencies, misinformation, and mistakes.
It's clear he's faced the answers to the questions and recognizes now that, as Frederick Douglass said, "The depth of your struggle will determine the height of your success." and Lancer football will take on those challenges rather than traveling the path of least resistance like so many programs do today (including some on our own campus). If you never try - you never know.
"I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it."-- Pablo Picasso
Science Project over....it lasted 12 days.
Thanks for proving my point.
Read "The Apology"...which one are you?
COcharger,
Hey man are DONE? Your rant is getting old and obnoxious, kinda like annonymass. You're doing to CO what Frank does to Damien. A 2 handicapper huh? Where at Boomers? Enough is enough, shut up already.
COChargerfan - that was "being the bigger man"? copying and pasting a former slam? isn't that the definition of "going round and round"? instead of answering some honest questions? a response isn't an answer. but I got my answer as to whether it is "playing it safe, or vanilla or gutless." gutless.
just sayin'...still playing ball but ignoring Joey has nothing to do with guts pal...I’m just taking jcaz's suggestion to be the bigger man. Besides, we've been in the same round and round and round discussion for months so why continue? And, what makes you think that I don't have a response?
Well, you’re begging me to give it to you so I’ll oblige with another copy of "the list" of Amat folklore: (1) Amat honks exhibit narcissistic traits (2) The Transition Property that Amat honk routinely used to prove superiority doesn’t apply to sports (3) Compared to the SGV teams, Amat has not produced a far, far, far superior amount of college prospects, in fact, they only average 1-2 kids a year, which is the same as most of the other schools. (4) Amat honk doesn’t want to count the players at the Junior College level as evidence of the skill level of their program (5) Amat clings to the “D” marker to support their superiority claim but it has actually been abandoned by the CIF and is meaningless when comparing individual teams (5) Amat honk incorrectly uses the MaxPreps (and CalPreps) ranking of the Pac-5 DIVISION AVERAGE to support their superiority claims despite the disclaimers that they are not meant to be used in this manner…disclaimer states they are not to be used to evaluate the skill level of an individual team…so it is incorrect to use this AVERAGE to argue that a team in one division is automatically better than one in another division (6) Tiger is statistically 1% better than his next 10 rivals but Amat honk doesn’t understand statistics nor that close wins do not translate to far, far, far superiority and, instead, supports the proposition that minutely better is often all that separates winning from losing (7) Amat honks don’t think much of the public education system (8) Amat honks do not understand the college entrance requirements (9) Amat honks like to incorrectly insert people into a story that actually involves someone else…see Mr. Martinez…it is not him (10) Amat honks don’t like CONTEXT to get in the way of their twisted arguments
Does “a feeble and transparent effort to do yourself credit” sprinkled with “horsesh@% in staggering amounts” hit too close to home? If so, then just walk away from it the same as you have done with the transitive property.
COChargerfan - funny that you decide to take your ball and go home after you are asked some questions that might settle the discussion once and for all. some might call that playing it safe, or vanilla. others might call it gutless.
jcaz, I haven't gone away...just not going to waste time arguing with Joey anymore...although I see that he still wants to call me out. I watched Tip Cup the other day and it seemed on point to the "challenge" stuff that people always write. Is this blog just about beating others down, bragging how one team is better or only saying what some want to hear…care to answer NO GUTS CHARLIE (I see you picked an appropriate call sign to describe yourself).
I read the Tiger vs. Average Joe article including the part that "The average American golfer" in the survey is 46 years old with a 15.1 handicap…who wouldn’t take Tiger against those guys? And the argument that no scratch golfer could beat Tiger is blowing smoke...could Tiger spot the NCAA, US Amateur and USGA Champs (all of whom are essentially scratch golfers) a stroke a hole? And, the other thing that is missing is that the nay Sayers are assuming that the scratch golfer must play Tiger on a course that he knows well and sets up for his game…not a fair fight. I doubt that they’d make the same argument on a neutral course.
I once heard Davis Love III talking about this subject and he said that a scratch golfer could beat him, that’s straight up guys with NO stokes, at the scratch guy’s home course but not on one of the tour courses. So Davis admits that the scratch guy has an advantage on his own turf but not on Davis’…makes sense. Did anyone out there hear Tiger talking about how scratch golfer John Smoltz took some coin off of him…and he only gave Smoltz two pops and it was on Tiger’s home course! Anyone see the 3 handicap Ben Roethlisberger shoot 81 at Bethpage Black…and this was his first time on the course. Let him play it a 4 or 5 times like the tour guys had, and I guarantee you that he’s around 76. So 81 minus 18 strokes is 63…Tiger’s low score for the week was a 68…so Ben beat him easily. The low score of the tourney was Glover’s 64…so another win for Ben.
What the so-called experts are talking about is that the short hitting 1.3 handicap guy like Michael Jordan who are this low only because they play 6400 yard courses and not the guys like Big Ben who can hit it 300 yards…who have no trouble negotiating 7600 yards. Distance is the difference between shot and no shot.
And NO GUTS, McElvoy was also banging the stripper…doesn’t change the 12 on the 18th hole, does it? And, do you have the "stones" to play me straight up for a grand? Let me know the tee time because I'll be there...
COChargerfan
Just to let you know, I think that Fred deleted my comments to you earlier.
Anyway, in a nut shell, I thought that you had decided to turned the other cheek, ad that you were going to be the "bigger person" in here ? Whats with all this back and forth stuff eh ?
Yea but who wound up banging Molly . But I guess you have to see things the way you do white and black otherwise how do you justify your way of life and thinking that a winner can only be judged by what the establishment considers a winner and not what ones personal feelings are . By the way at the end Molly tells Cup just go for it what the hell .There you go again there were no stakes mentioned in the Tiger game only if able to beat Tiger. Be honest you don't have the stones to play Tiger, too far out of your comfort zone and you could throw your 2 out the window because you wouldn't know what to do under pressure. You know why because it is not in your nature to test yourself and if at one time you did, you have defintely forgotten what it feels like MR VANILLA. So do us all a favor and unless you have something positive to say or post stay off the blog because I am sure by the replies to you most people are sick of your shi_t . Geez how could even think of relating to Simms who was such a pompus dick. Oh what was I thinking , that fits you to a tee. No pun intended.
here's the link to the article. read it and chime. I vote for Tiger.
http://blogs.golf.com/flyers/2009/10/could-you-beat-tiger-hank-haney-weighs-in.html
NOW WE KNOW WHY, I'm a 2 handicap so if Tiger gave me a shot a hole I'd be living in his house. And, yes I used to take chances when I was young including on the golf course...crashed a few cars and routinely shot 90 too. Grew up and learned to manage the golf game...same as my life...Tin Cup is not just about taking chances..it is MeElvoy's perception that he is a winner just because he does accept challenges when the reality is that he was living a loser life and at the same time calling out the winners like Simms as being robots...that "nice par" Simms made on the 18th won him the US Open.
COChargerfan,
I thought you were done playing? Couldn't resist? I figured if we heard from you again on the topic it would at least be to answer the questions posed for you to consider... instead of some off the wall movie example.
Help us out with the following:
You said your son was an AP/IB student. Why? Why would you have him take a "more challenging" schedule? (in light of your recent "Tin Cup" example... why would he risk "failure")
Would he be just as well off if he took a "basic" schedule and got a higher GPA?
Would that "basic" schedule prepare him for the next level as well as his AP/IB courses?
Is he "challenged" by the competition in his AP/IB courses on a daily basis more than he might be if he took that "basic" schedule you speak of?
Does he work harder and more seriously, knowing that at the end of the day he must take the AP tests and compete with students of that caliber on a national basis?
Since, as you said, as long as GPAs/SATs are equal, he is eligible for the EXACT SAME colleges as the next kid, isn't it to his advantage to take an easier course of study.
When all things are equal, what do YOU think college admissions officers use to break those ties?
Tiger wins because he has a God given gift that allows him to out putt everyone…it has nothing to do with any swing changes besides, pretty much every pro golfer is tinkering with their swing which has become more and more sophisticated because of the innovations involving high speed cameras and computer analysis software. Lots of guys drive it longer & straighter and hit more greens but can’t beat Tiger because winning comes down to rolling the rock.
McElvoy is a total loser who is stuck in a dirt patch driving range in the middle of nowhere with a sleazy stripper for a girlfriend who, despite his loser life, clings to the perception that he is actually a winner because he’s the one that always rises to a challenge. Do you believe that the “vanilla players” aren’t actually the winners in life (p.s. ask jcaz whether he’d rather be McElvoy or David Simms…but don’t mention the stripper part because he’s already in enough hot water).
Remember when Roy goes to Molly the shrink and their conversation about swimming the impossibly dangerous river which McElvoy says he’d attempt (and die 9 out of 10 times) because there’s the reward of a million dollars on the other side? Well Molly calls him an “idiot” and then a “juvenile idiot” and says that his blatherings are just “…a feeble and transparent effort to do yourself credit.” I’ll repeat that in capitals for kh because he likes caps…“A FEEBLE AND TRANSPARENT EFFORT TO DO YOURSELF CREDIT.”
And Molly continues to tell old Roy that he doesn’t have “any inner demons…what you have is inner crapola, inner debris... garbage... loose wires…horsesh@% in staggering amounts.”
Horsesh@% in staggering amounts...the floor is now yours...fore!!!
COChargerfan,
Now we know the reasons behind all your post on the Pac-5 superior debate. By that latest post one can tell that you have never in your life gone for the gusto. It is funny you mention the Tin Cup movie and you being a golfer. Haven't you stepped up to the tee or in the fairway facing a shot that you know you can pull off maybe once in 100 or even 200 shots and threw caution to wind and just went for it . That par three with the pin tucked near that god awful bunker and took a shot right at the flag or the par four with the lake you go over to cut the dog leg and wind up 100 yds closer to the green. To knock Cup in taking the shot as a knucklehead or ego driven fool is not the question because in Cup's eyes and head he knew he had the shot and to go for anything else just wouldn't have been himself. That is one of the greatest things about golf and why it used plenty in the business community as more than just a social event. You can get a lot from a person on how he conducts him or her self in the course of a round of golf.Your take on Tin Cup speaks volumes over anything you have ever posted on the blog. Do yourself a favor and the next time you are faced with that tough shot , take a chance and go for it and if you make it try and tell me it doesn't feel like you are floating down that fairway after pulling off the shot and if you don'tpull it off well at least you had the confidence in your own game to try not just lay up safely which more than likely is the way you play. Just look at the latest Golf Magazine issue and how many golfers state if Tiger gave them 1 shot per hole they could beat him. I think the answer would amaze you . Of course you would never test your game like that but I know I would.
Check out Friday's game highlights in HD here:

COChargerfan - Roy was in the US OPEN!! He wasn't hitting off the ladies tees at the 9-hole local public course. One is Amat's schedule - the other is the equivalent of CO's schedule.
I think the moral of the story was an exaggeration of the vanilla players who take no risk in challenging themselves to fail in pursuit of their own God given limits. Woods changed his stroke not because he wasn't winning but to pursue his own level of potential greatness...it was personal between him and the course.
John Day's mantra of "rip it" so captivated the Golf World who had settled for play it safe players who were content to get their card, sign some endorsement deals, do the corporate outings gigs and live fat and comfortable. Yes JD had demons that took his talent away but that wasn't the point before those demons took hold.
Mc Avoy is a caricature and an over the top example for entertainment that suggest we have "all" settled for pay checks and playing it safe...you missed that did you?
In this scenario who would CO represent in terms of Golf? And please tell me which current golfer eminds you most of BA and their "wild dreams of greatness"
This should be interesting....the floor is yours.
Wow jcaz, tell a funny joke with a small mistake and people call you a homo…you are officially a member of my club. Perhaps, you could hire Joey “Cochran” as your lawyer to twist this thing around so that it will appear that the homo jokesters are all really closet homosexuals.
The “I'd rather play with the big boys and lose than win against the medium sized boys” reminds me of Roy 'Tin Cup' McAvoy…those that have seen the Tin Cup movie will recall that good old boy Roy was entirely driven by his ego who defined “HONOR” as attempting but failing at great feats and also belittling others for their refusal to attempt them even when these other people were successful at what they did. Roy rationalized his position with the mantra that “greatness courts failure.” At the movie’s end, after several shots land in the lake, Roy finally holes out a fairway wood but not for an albatross and, instead, he cards a 7 over par 12. Amazingly, instead of expressing disappointment for being a total knucklehead whose ego has cost him the US Open, his words are "How about that last shot, wasn't it great?" So I ask, was Roy correct that there’s “honor” in attempting the failed shots or is the moral of the movie that failure is just that, FAILURE, and there is really no honor associated with “attempts” because all that really gets measured at the end of the match, game, etc is success or failure. And does the only play with the big boys mantra only apply to Amat football… because your Baseball team dropped down to D5 and won two Titles and your Girl’s Basketball team won a couple of State Titles at the D3 level...so are you embarrassed by these accomplishments even though every rational person with any other school and I imagine the players on those teams, would consider them very worthy feats?
Like I’ve already said, the “I’d rather play with the big boys and lose” needs to be deep six’d with the transitive property.
C DAWG 5?,
WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY YOU'LL BE THERE??? I'M SURPRISE YOUR NOT SAYING ANYTHING STUPID!
AZUSA WILL BE PLAYING ON THE VISITING SIDE, WHICH IS THE NORTH SIEDE OF THE STADIUM.
AZTECS BE READY!
Here's something interesting.
I know I had this discussion with My Friend a couple weeks back when people were second guessing Gano's decision to go for a 2pt conversion vs Amat. I brought up an example of an article I read - and I saw this guy on "ESPN 1st Take" this morning.
The coach is Kevin Harris at Pulaski Academy HS and he never punts, kicks FG's, almost always goes for 2, uses 7 types of onside attacks and does it 75% of the time. He says, according to some Harvard professor, mathematically it works out based on the probability of teams scoring from where they first take possession of the ball. His feeling is that adding in the emotion of successful attempts, weighed against no letdown when it doesn't work (because it's their philosophy and percentages will win out) creates a positive net outcome.
They've been State champs in Arkansas twice in the last 7 years, 5a champs last year, and never NOT to quarter finals in the 7 years they've been doing it.
Food for Thought.
What other SGV players from other schools will be in D1 uniforms this weekend - just so we can keep an eye out.
Congrats to Nick. I noticed recently that he got picked up as a walk-on. You have to really impress to get picked up that way.
Next Saturday, UCLA plays ARIZONA and Bishop Amat will be well represented by former players. UCLA's CB Sheldon Price, T Brandon Bennett, & LB Isaiah Bowens and ARIZONA's has
DE Dominique Austin & S Nick Liehart. From what I saw TV this past weekend, Price and Austin will be playing in the game. Congrats and good luck to all the former players and it keeps the Amat traditon alive. Go Lancers
Expecting Glendora to dominate in their game with Damien.. Tartans didn't play a great game this past week against Diamond Bar.. Offensively, they were really carried by Andre Holmes who matched his career high with exactly 260 rushing yards.. Glendora's offensive line which struggled up until this game, really played well all around especially clearing the way in the run game for Holmes and a few nice Bankhead runs as well.. Jeffries struggled with his accuracy.. Some games he really looks everything he was made out to be and some games he has struggled when you'd expect a lot more out of him.. He is very underrated as an athlete though and seems to understand when he has to make a play for his team.. Glendora's defense played about as well as you could ask them to against a solid DB offense.. The Brahmas run a no huddle O so that really tests a defense's stamina and they answered the call.. Glendora will have some tough practices this week and should head into the Damien game with some motivation from the coaches.. No doubt Pasquarella gets his team ready when its a big game.. Tartans will roll.. 35-13?
Awesome !!
AZTEC PRIDE - is Azusa on the home side this year???
To Mr. Werd and All you haters of Amat.. Amat plays in a league of it's own, that's to say, the toughest in the whole State of California and probably in the nation... and even if Amat is 6-0 and goes to the playoffs and lose in the Pac-5....there is no shame because I rather see them play with the BIG BOYS and lose with HONOR than to win a lower CIF Football Championship nuckle head.. It takes a awesome team to win the Pac-5 Championship and Amat will be there soon. There is no Team in the SGV that could compete in the SERRA League (and go undefeated) let alone in the Pac-5 Division and never has there been to my knowledge....Remember to win a Pac-5 CIF Championshiop you must build a great Football Empire to reach that level....Remember...Rome wasn't built over night Dumb Ass...and Amat is still building to reach that level...Success is showing for it's hard work in school and on the field.. Go Lancers...Kick Alemany back to Mission Hills
Hey man,
for the record, it was a funny, got a good kick out of it.

Sometimes you can tell just by the writing styles of certain people in here, who it is that’s commenting. If you look real closely you can tell that “Chin music” and the posting right below that one, are from the very same kid. In fact, I would venture to say that his writing style is identical to the guy who got all worked up over that “Urinal” post a few threads ago.
How funny…
Interestingly, it even looks a little bit like anonymous’s style don’t you agree ?.
Anyway, this guy doesn’t realize just how much of a kick I get out of stuff like that, but for the life of me, I don’t know why in the world this guy gets so worked up over me (of all people), all of the time.
He must spend hours just waiting for me to post something in here just so he can comment on something. Anyhow, you would think that he would have something far better to do with his time wouldn’t you ?
After all, doesn’t he have to spend SOME OF HIS TIME in front of his mirror popping the zits off of his face or something?
Wow, I have to tell you that it feels real weird to have a fan club of one. Yikes!
The last time an Amat team was 6-0 was 1998. The Amat community only wants to know W/L record. We don't care about the individual stats only the team. Thought you knew.
amat 6-0 and still lose in the playoffs. 16 years with no chamionship. amat sucks. werd up
I just want to say thank goodness that those two games are going to be played on Thursday and not Friday, so they dont have to take the reporters time with a montiew league game on Friday. They need to cover the real leagues in the SGV.
Anything and anyone you want to talk about

"My Friend (male), his girlfriend(female) and I (jcaz) had been dating for awhile"...okay Jcaz...either you're sleeping with your best friend's girlfriend or your sleeping with "her" boyfriend? Which is it?
You stepped in that one!
Hey Fred,
I know this may be a bit premature but do you think Darien Johnson is making a case for CIF player of the year?
jcaz,
"My friend, his girlfriend and I had been dating a long time?" Inquiring minds want to know! Is this the real Bishop Amat? Please tell us more!!
I have a joke:
EVERYONE WHO SAID AMAT WOULD NOT DO WELL THIS YEAR!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Time for a joke...
I am sure that some of you older blogers will no doubt remember my next door neighbor and his now “infamous Chihuahua.” Well, the other day he told me a story about the time he met his wife. It was so funny that I thought I would share it with you guys.
My friend and his girlfriend and I had been dating for quite a long time, and so when they decided to get married it was of course a very happy moment in both of their lives. Their parents helped them in every way, in fact his friends encouraged them and offered to help with the financial aspects of the wedding and his girlfriend? Wow, she was a total dream! There was only one thing that bothered my friend very much, and that was that his fiancés younger sister was always a real big tease.
His prospective sister-in-law was twenty years of age, wore tight mini skirts and low cut blouses. She would regularly bend down when she was around him and often, he would tell me that he got “many a pleasant view” of her private parts. Anyway, my friend always told me that what she did had to be deliberate because she never did it when there was anyone else in the room with them.
One day “little sister” called and asked him to come over to check the wedding invitations. She was alone when he arrived. She whispered to him that soon he was to be married, and that all along, she had feelings and desires for him that she couldn't overcome.
She told him that she wanted to make love to him just once before they got married. It was her final chance she told him. Well, you could only imagine that my friend was in total shock! At that moment, she told him that I’m going to go upstairs to my bedroom, and if you want to, go ahead with it just come up and get me."
Again, my friend was stunned. He was frozen in shock as he watched her go up the stairs. When she reached the top, she pulled down her panties and threw them down the stairs at him. He told me that he stood there for a moment thinking about what he should do, then he decided to turn and go straight to the front door.
However, when he opened the door and stepped out of the house (walking straight towards his car), his future father-in-law was standing just outside the front door.
With tears in his eyes he hugged my friend and said, "We are very happy that you have passed our little test ! We couldn't ask for a better man for our daughter. Welcome to the family !
Well, all he could say to me right then was that there was a moral to this story, and that was that....you should "Always keep your condoms in your car."
AmatLancers,
You got that right. Mike DiFiori may be a good assistant good (although he is probably the weak link on the staff), but a horrible head coach. That team had its version of the triplets - Mike Lange at QB, McCleskey at RB and Adam Simon at WR. The line was good, and led by McCleskey, the defense was stout. The weak link was DF, and it showed in the playoffs
its time to find out whos gonna be the number 3 seed in the miramonte will it be Bonita or Los Altos im putting my money on Bonita I think there the better team and will beat them I think Boita might actually end up the 2 seed and win out the rest of their games in league
Last time Amat started 6-0 was back in 2001 when Donnie McCleskey, M. Lange, Simon, Wesley Walker played for Coach Difiori. Their only loss was to Mater Dei by 1 TD and Edison in the 2nd round of the playoffs. That year we beat Alemany 62-7, McCleskey was taken out during the 2nd half otherwise he would have broken many records that night. I strongly believe that team would have gone to the finals if they had this year's coaching staff. This year's Amat freshman team reminds me alot of McCleskey's frosh team that went 10-0.
Just do what I do. Amat always has updated stats in their football program. AND They have a home game this week.
I think the last time bishop started 6-0 was when they were having the carnival back in the late 80's and early 90's need to bring back the carnival
SGVBB,
Amat, Glendora, and South Hills will all be very good.
In it's last year under the current format, the Miramonte will be as even as it ever has been.
San Dimas has to replace a dozen Seniors including Leyland, Ponzo, Jensen, Brookes, and Salcido. I don't know what Regan has held back but there better be a lot of them.
Let me leave a comment about stats. I support both coaches that use maxpreps for stats and those that decide not to use maxpreps.
It is good to have somewhere to go to follow the individual and team stats, to follow team leaders. However, the baggage that comes with it sometimes is not worth it. Do you know how many phone calls and emails that come with reporting stats? My daughters ERA is incorrect. She doesn't have 3 errors, that was the first baseman's fault. We have her down in our stat book with 12 hits not 10. It's unbelievable. I started out using maxpreps last year and then mid season I sent an email to the parents and told them stats would not be entered until the season is over. I will do the same this year. I will report stats to the Tribune via fax but not until the season is over. Another example of parents taking for granted a good thing and then losing it.
FRED,
If you saw it with your own eyes, you would agree! Davis Cazarez #42 was the best high school player in the WORLD last friday night!
PLAYER OF THE WEEK/ DEFENSIVE STAND OUT
#42 Davis Cazarez Bishop Amat
Fred at least three out of four of those games will be blow outs. I won't say which one but that's my take. Aren't games of the week suppose to be compelling, competitive and meaningful.
Azusa and Gladstone, La Puente and Bassett and Ayala and Diamond Bar should have been considered. Come on Fred does every GOW have to be big name games?
This blog serves the entire San Gabriel Valley ad not just a select few.

I would like to know who will be the best baseball team in the sgv? I hear Bishop Amat is stacked and San Dimas is tough again?
