Anything and anyone you want to talk about

Finals Coin Flips: The coin flips for home games in the CIF finals were held this morning. In the Mid-Valley Division, Monrovia gets the home game over San Dimas, and Azusa gets the home game over Monrovia. Whittier Christian gets the home game in both scenarios if it advances. In the Southeast, Diamond Ranch gets the home game if it wins. Charter Oak gets the home game over South Hillls, and South Hills gets the home game over California.

Doubling Up: This is what I call transition week at the Tribune. While we still have two weeks of football left, boys and girls basketball and soccer begin this week, with our hoops previews coming out Tuesday and Wednesday, and soccer the following week. Are there any good tournaments or games you want covered this week?

Can we have a four-way tie?: San Dimas’ Bill Zernickow, Azusa’s Joe Scherf, Diamond Ranch’s Roddy Layton and Bishop Amat’s Steve Hagerty all are deserving of coach of the year honors to the point. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Who’s No. 1: You thought we were finished with Bishop Amat? No matter what happens the rest of the way, Bishop Amat finishes the season as the Tribune’s No. 1 team. Do I need to explain? St. Bonaventure, Notre Dame, Mater Dei, etc, etc.

Predictions: I just want to point out that I correctly picked the final four in the Southeast Division, and on track to pick the Mid-Valley Division final of San Dimas and Monrovia.
