Southeast Predictions: Before they're forced to the Sierra League, Charter Oak and South Hills will meet for another championship, Huskies win

| | Comments (28) |

Fred's explanation: For those other Valley teams, principals and athletic directors who desperately voted Charter Oak and South Hills into a tougher league and division next year, we certainly understand why. Before the Southeast gets watered down next year, you know what to expect, don't you? Charter Oak could have tough tests along the way against West Covina, California or Burbank, but who's going to stop them, really? South Hills could have trouble against Santa Fe, Diamond Ranch or perhaps Schurr, but do you really believe they will lose to any of them? This is the final I have been waiting for, not because I'm playing favorites, these are the two best teams, period. I want to witness South Hills' defense vs. Charter Oak's offense. Bogan vs. Farrar. The two best teams in the Division playing their best football entering the playoffs. And when they meet, yes, South Hills is going to pull it off. They have been through more adversity, especially in regards to the Canada situation, people telling them they can't win it all without him. They have a bigger chip on their shoulder. Charter's Oak's bread and butter is Adam Muema, but the Huskies have the dogs up front to contain him, and there is no Chris Allen to will the Chargers down the field this time. It's going to be great, and yes, Charter Oak is and should be the favorite, I don't dispute that, they're as good as advertised and have an incredible coaching staff from top to bottom. But the best team doesn't always win, sometimes when the talent is this close, hunger wins out, and I can't see how the Chargers are hungrier than the Huskies in what will be another San Gabriel Valley classic for the history books.

KH,

Put down the bottle, sober up and come down to reality..I know it's good to stand up for your team..but come on now! They don't stand a chance..but they will be given a A for effort. Sober up and drive by the right school menso...they've been out there with portable lights and all..working hard...if you're so worried about someone practicing go stand at your practices at Bonita..give them some moral support..anything else from you would be more damaging and they don't need any other excuses to make once they lose on Friday...Go HUSKIES!

Mr. Highley (kh),
That's very clever . . .

Not all that clever chief, kh is Huth, not Highley.

Just ask intheknow, he'll tell you.

Aaron said:

Come On,

Trust me that's Ken Huth, go back to baseball season and it's the same person. As a matter of record Highley hasn't played Defense since Bonita played Baldwin Park, so it's quite clear that we've needed him at that Strong Safety spot. Man he could have had a monster season back there.

Unreal... said:

Watch out for West Covina. Overlooking them is a problem. Coach Magiore is a really good coach and they may finally be healthy.

Come on said:

Mr. Highley (kh),

That's very clever that everyone of your posts mentions Highley but you claim to be another kids Dad...real funny. By the way, South Hills is on Barranca and Cameron, not Glendora and Badillo (Royal Oak). You have to go to the right school to see them practice.

When Bonita gets blasted this Friday, I'll be in the South Hills stands LMAO and looking for you on the other side in tears.

Keep posting....this is the last week you will be able to post about Bonita and your son playing football.

Ha Ha Ha!

hmmm, thats funny KH. I drive by there everyday. i've driven by everyday this week and saw them out there at practice. they even went as far as getting portable lights so that they may practice later on into the night

went by s.h. and didnt see anybody on the pratice field wenseday.asked a guy walking down the street wheres the football team, student said that the coach gave them the day off because next weeks game gets alittle toughter...the student repleyed we only play bonita. so i said wheres bonita ,he said that sorry town called la verne.they suck.
i kind of got goose bumps.
had a flash back of the old days at t.c. man if a kid from arcadia or monrovia or san gab said a remark like that, but the more i drove away and thaught about the kids comment.i said hes right you cant buy pride or respect you earn it by kickin some ass,on and off the field.
bonita the only way you will save your face is by putting your hemet in some huskie face and trying to break his face mask.go thur the man not at the man .
well they moved my son to middle line backer for fridays game, this is his real position hes played all his life .now sounds to me like were making the right moves to complete for friday night, now next move horian to cornerback and highley back to free saftey. love to see highley get some reads on running backs .k.c. and highley play the game with a little different level then the rest of the bearcats, the level i love.win or get beat this weeks game i will be the twevle man you can bet on that ..i hope the bands coming we will need all are troops. kenny huth.go bearcats

Easy Folks!!!
I didn't say it was going to happen [although I'm not saying it won't either] I just said I'd prefer that game to a CO vs SH final, Fred no need to come back at me since half the board just did it for you.

Condor,
About Santa Fe I'll have to take your word for it since you have seen the Chiefs in person, I guess it could be that San Clemente had a real bad game that night but it's hard to imagine any team in this division beating San Clemente 34 to 20 like they did.

Good Old Boy Said said:

I think in talking with lots of people who watch High School Football that Charter Oak is the Division Favorite. I would be shocked if the two covina schools did not meet in the finals. I do feel though the winner of the Diamond Ranch vs Burroughs game will be a team to watch for. These two teams have some very good football personnel. I have been informed and told that Burroughs could be a sleeper team in the playoffs. I think they have an above average running back who can carry this team a few rounds. It will be a great game and you heard it here first that Burroughs will win in a very close game.

Santa Fe? Even with Flores I don't see it. Half of his game is mobility and with a torn ACL, that's gone. The defense is soft. Cal scored touchdowns on all 4 drives in the first half running it down their throats. Arnold pulled TJ after 200 yds in the first half alone or it would have been way worse. CO is a tough team to figure out this year & they MAY have a tough road to the finals but, they are still the team to beat in the Southeast.

DR sucks said:

Stop with trying to hype yourselves...honestly, you really think beating Los Altos and Wilson means a lot or something? You'd still be talking too if you'd lost to Wilson or Bonita. Just face it, you're going on a long bus ride thursday afternoon and it will not be fun.

Have fun getting smacked in Burbank.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FAN said:

dont under etimate DIAMOND RANCH they are playing there best football all year...they had some very close games againt some really good teams...they are well oiled and primed...GO PANTHERS....WE ARE DR....SH dont forget last year YOU WENT HOME EARLY....

Just The Truth said:

There are alot of haters out there! Face the facts...DR is no where close to the team it had last year! There's no team that can stop SH this year in this division...they're playing hardcore football and they're destroying everybody they go up against...I believe Charter Oak will meet South Hills in the Final...it will be a bang out game..but South Hills will pull it out..no one can beat South Hills except for South Hills...the key is to stay healthy! Go Huskies!

Dan please stop saying WC will be in the finals. WC just isnt a special team this year, and yeah they had a tough schedule...... but losing every big game doesnt prove anything. and burbank sports all i gotta say is child please

SGV FOOTBALL said:

Dan,

If you want to see west covina vs souh hills go watch a league game! This is playoffs and not a San Antonio league game. CO vs SH if they can get past Shurr. "CO wins back to back titles this year and starts preparing for the Sierra next year." I can already see the tribunes article tile.

Dont forget CO put Muir away earlier we do not want them lingering around in the fourth quarter.

Dan Author Profile Page said:

Sorry Fred but its not the finals I've been waiting for, West Covina vs South Hills is more to my taste, but lets also not forget about Santa Fe, I just read last night that they might have qb Alex Flores back for the playoffs, remember that with Alex Flores Santa Fe beat San Clemente who is a Pac 5 playoff team, the losses they have to Cal Hi and La Serna were without their quarterback Flores.

Bogan, Farrar and Gano...this will be magic! said:

Maybe I'm wrong but how many CIF Championships has SH won since they were moved up? What division did Bogan win his CIF championships in? I hear llot about how greta a coach he is, and he is good, but what happened against a losing record Diamond Ranch team? Down the stretch, even with a D1 QB and tons of talent he made one bad decision after another. Bogan loves to bully officials and opposing coaches but in that game, inspite of the official and a favored status Diamond Ranch ripped put SH's heart...and Bogan could only watch. Welcome to the Sierra League where Bogan, Farrar and Gano will have at it annually. What could be better? Chino Hills is no slouch and Ayala is making great strides so now when people say teh Sierra League is tough, they won't be blowing smoke!

Fan said:

Although I am not a true fan of the school I've had the oppurtunity to see Schurr play 3 times this year (my wife is a teacher there). They are a very dangerous team who is peaking at the right time. They have an experienced head coach, a very good passing attack and good running game. Ask South Hills about #11 (Sanchez) he was a one man show in last years playoff game. Schurr's quarterback (a 6'3" Jr) has passed for over 2000 yards and 20 touchdowns and has two big recievers (#11 a 6'4" Sr and #7 a 6'2" Sr) to compliment him. Add a good running back (Castillo) and a strong line and this is a team that is tough and will not back down from anyone. Although I think Charter Oak is the elite of this Division and should win it all I wouldn't be suprised to see Schurr in the final against Charter Oak.

JFR said:

Burbanksports, I see your a little COCKy just like your coaches were on Sunday. When was the last time you guys won anything.

SGV FOOTBALL said:

Fred you're right CO vs SH will be a huge game to end the season. It will be two bada$$ defenses going at each other. Lets just pray SH get past D ranch and Shurr. Also we have a common oppenent in Los Altos it will be a closer game than I anticipated but I have to go with the mighty Farrar and the CO defense to control the game and lead them to victory.

Harry Ballzonya said:

If CO and SH meet in the finals and SH wins, I will run naked through downtown Covina with a SH banner!

No way in HELL will SH beat CO this year!

burbanksports said:

LMAO at Fred's picks.

JFR said:

Fred, I like that your putting it out on the table so early, I don't agree but I appreciate your stance. I am surprised you have us getting past Edgewood/WC Trojdogs though, thanks.
