Two-Minute Drill: Robledo, Miller and the Scouting Guru discuss this week's top games

| | Comments (29) |

The Tribune's Fred Robledo, Time Warner's popular Reginald Miller and the Scouting Guru mix it up and discuss four of Friday's CIF playoff games. Check it out

Friday's game
Mater Dei (6-4) at Bishop Amat (9-1), 7:30 p.m.
Rancho Cucamonga (8-2) at Glendora (7-3), Citrus College, 7 p.m.
Upland (8-2) at Damien (5-5), 7 p.m.
Muir (4-6) at Charter Oak (9-1), 7 p.m.

The L.A. Times' Ben Bolch Makes his Mater Dei-Bishop Amat prediction: Wrote Bolch: Bishop Amat coach Steve Hagerty said Mater Dei receiver Victor Blackwell could "single-handedly" beat the Lancers, but the Monarchs have been inconsistent for most of the season and their signature victory over Corona Centennial came two months ago. Plus, Bishop Amat's defense made Sherman Oaks Notre Dame standout Ryan Kasdorf look like an average high school quarterback last week. That's no small feat. Prediction: Bishop Amat 35, Mater Dei 24.

Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

Ive played all these video games so far and i can't wait for coded to be released but im mostly waiting for KH3 so i just hope that they allow it to become.

Dam jcaz that's a hell of a reputation your getting on the blog. You better do something manly to change that.

Just for you Jcaz said:

Of course that is why when a couple of State Troopers out in Canada came upon Jcaz in the snow stuck inside a barbed wire fence One Tropper asked the other for the time. His reply "it's Mountain Time"!!!

Tough Champions...is that what Temple City (T.C,) stands for? said:

KH... I will admit it's always fun reading your posts. Your love of your son is admirable. Not to get too mushy but I wish you both well. Now the point of my post.

"Because I come from T.C....that's all we think about"...I can respect that...well said...too bad more teams don't "believe" as deeply as you do.

One man believes he can and another man thinks they can't...in the end...they are both right.....I'd rather believe I can.

Good luck Friday Bonita!!!

jcaz.."a**-hole to belly"?

yet another sexual reference by our local jokester. can't think of a more disgusting analogy jcaz. may first thought were who's a**-hole reaches anyone"s belly? then I realized jcaz was referring to being mounted from the rear. i guess all those CSI episodes are paying off jcaz.

Jcaz you never mentioned you were Canadian? Was that before or after your "service" here?

jcaz,

The 'A' logo WILL be painted/placed on the field before the game.

The yard lines are painted on the field on Friday mornings of game days, so that is PROBABLY when the 'A' will be painted on the field.

fred was watching film w/ son k.c. last night.
we watched sh vs la game la was in total control of the game intel late in second half on a punt deep in la zone the snapper launched the ball over the head of punter and sh got a saftey.witch made game 7-2 la next kick off td for sh ,then intro ,td again and intro td again.well what am saying fred my boy, sh lines up three in back field they run right, three wide outs they go deep, thats there whole off. tstop the run and stop the deep pass they get shut out my friend. they moved k.c. back to middle linebacker for the game..hes going to stay home and kill that rb cutting back up the middle there rb starts right then gose back up the middle,we will be waiting for u,you can bet your ass on that ,if we dont get to much out of control on off. slowing keep putting up points i see the outcome bearcats 35 t0 14 bearcats will be playing again. we will be at full strengh on defense, just like the wilson game 47 to 3.last week linebackers where sick and didnt play, i might be the only one from l.v. who thinks the bearcats will be playing for the ring.thats ok because coming from t,c, thats the only thing we ever are thinking of.i think this week one of our bearcat players will bring home player of the week.
come on bearcats
get out of your funk
and stick some punks
go bearcats

I was wandering around the school this afternoon and I just happened to run into one of the folks who do some of the work on the football field.

The guy told me that they are planning on adding a few more bleachers next to the Dog pound area of the stadium. Hopefully that will add a few more seats to the overall venue of the stadium, but even with that, with the television crews out there on Friday night, that will mean that they will no doubt be taking away more than a few seats in order to place some of those cameras up in the stands.

That’s gonna suck big time, but you know what they say in my Marine Corps when there’s gonna be a lot of people right ?

What ? You don’t know ??...

Ok, It’s gonna be so packed that it’s gonna be “azz-hole to belly button” in those lines out there, so if you want a seat, you better get there early people !

Ha ha ha.

Hey one more thing, I could help but notice that the Amat "A" still hasn't been added to the grass on the 50 yard line yet. Perhaps it is due?

that got me fired up, go amat, you can do it.

Make no mistake, Victor Blackwell may be th ebest receiver in SoCal. I like him more than any of the guys they were hyping at Serra and Cathedral last week.

Certainly a guy we have to contain, either through coverage or pressure - but he is GOOD!

Aaron said:

James was hyping that receiver from MD. But Fred kept it real for Bishop Amat.

THIS IS WHAT WE WANT said:

What we want to hear is the guru's take on Amat's success this past season and how does the crow he is eating taste. Also where is the trophy for Hags.

With the regular season completed, time to start thinking about the Tribune's 2009 All-Area football team and player of the year was the previous entry in this blog.

An intriguing first-round game: Damien and Upland, Gano and Salter, but who will win? is the next entry in this blog.
