Congrads to all the players who made the selection. Hard work and dedication has been recognized. And for all those others who work just as hard and were not selected remember its about giving all you have every time for your team and thats what matters.

Whats going on? said:

Personaly I don't care who made the second team, but if we have two backs on the first team that combined average was under 100 yards a game, something is wrong with the system.

Something went real wrong this year, I was told another one of the LA kids that made first team at TE only played the position a few games, due to another player being injuried. Basicly wasn't even a starter on sub .500 team and made 1st team league.

Let all be honest here, the two rb's that LA has on the first team combined aren't even close to Vega, who made second team, in every aspect of the game. I have never in my life seen a RB make first team that averaged 35 yards a game. Talk about watered out, we just saw a flood.

I am pretty sure that every RB is better than the two at LA if they played Sonora and Blair every year.

It must really suck for SGVsBest when "trhe scum" kicks ass on the rest of the East/West SGV, and we'll even throw in Gurus/COCF's great Inland Empire. In the last 6 seasons (that's this century, I think) Amat is 19-2 and has outscored those opponents 643-334

Yes, Wilson is being dropped to the VVL. And, I wouldn't make too much of the league picks. There's way too many Wilson, and LA players on both lists for them to be taken seriously.

Dan Author Profile Page said:

Interesting note,
Wilson has a combination of 9 junior's and sophomores coming back that made the second team all Miramonte league, they could be pretty good for the next year or two, I'm hopeing they will stay in the San Antonio/Miramonte league but I seem to remember them being one of the teams that will dropped to the Valle Vista, Fred or anyone, do you remember if they are being dropped or not?

reality said:

SGV FOOTBALL - that wasn't the question - why does CO run from it. The claim is always that private schools have an advantage because they can get players form all over - even as 9th graders. Apparently you are saying that isn't true. So what you're saying is "who gives a F*** where they live and should go to HS"
I happen to agree with you - but I'm waiting for someone from Charter Oak to acknowledge that.

SGV FOOTBALL said:

All these kids played Freshman year at CO with the exception of Rufus. Who care where they went to Jr High. Thats a stupid question asked by an even more stupid person. Who gives a F*** where they attended 7 and 8th grade. You know people move they they like the schools track record kids, did you ever think kids and parents want to send their kids to CO to get a free education and to possibly be able to be part of history.

Are cutting & pasting? Shame on you, moron! The "Academic" try out is open to surrounding "students" also. You too can bring your losing Bonita kid to Boganville, reality. He'll get a look.

Invitation is open, Huskies! I promise that we'll keep the panthers away!

reality said:

TinCurtain - Since you're openly recruiting - dispelling the myth that "public schools have boundaries" & "have to play th ecards they're dealt" time to come clean. Out of Powell, Smith, Golden, Muema , Rufus, and Youngblood - or any others - how many of them went to jr high in Covina? all this talk about "recruiting" now that you have your back to back come clean (we already know about Santiago and Thropay)

COSteelCurtain Author Profile Page said:

Academic transfers like J Canada, R Varela (ask him where he played JAA), B Arroyo (Co JAA) and S Aiono (Lehigh would make this kid a D-1 talent)

That's all!

Remember, Boganville on Saturday! Come 'study' at CO and be part of more history!

Huskie's ARE the future!,

Let's not talk about the past, lets talk current. The Huskie's tied and lost to Rancho in the last two years. They lost this year to Rancho who finished third in the Baseline league. Rancho lost twice this year to Los Osos who finished second in their league. Now factor into that the last two years Charter Oak has had a great team by their standards, you would expect their teams in the future to top out talent wise where this CO team is today. For the next five years the baseline league looks like the CIF Champion. Your own coaching staff is pitching that to CIF to get their league brought back down, saying they can't compete with the baseline league.

Tryouts for CO academic transfers are being held at BoganVille this year. All huskies tired of losing and getting yelled at by the fat man can show up and 'academically try-out' If you s*ck please don't bother!

Have Fun and Huskies ARE the Future,

New times for Charter Oak, thats life you kill competiton in the Southeast and you move on. Charter Oak will have a good season next year we already played 3 teams in the Central this year and we beat two of them. Not bad for a team that nobody thinks can hang outside of their division. Mysteriously everyone wants to see CO play Bishop Amat for some reason. wink wink. I still see Charter Oak making it to the second round of the playoffs if not more. In league I only see two tough oppenents which will be Glendora and Chino Hills with us edging out Glendora and fighting for the title against Chino Hills. In two years CO will be back to the championship game all the Freshman this year will be Juniors Santiago will be a Senior and leading the way. Expect CO to be ready next year with a good run in the playoffs.

Huskies ARE the Future! said:

Charter Oak competed with Rancho Cucamonga for two years last year being a tie and this year in my opinion they should of won even though they lost. They beat Etiwanda both years they played them and several years ago when they played Upland in a back to back they were beat badly one year and almost beat them the second year.

So I do believe Charter Oak can "compete" in the new league and division but as far as their dynasty continuing I doubt that very much. They'll probably be a 2nd or 3rd place team beaten in the 2nd round of the playoffs at best.

Personally, I'm happy to see them no longer at the top so enjoy the ride Chargers because a year from now no one will be talking about you.

Go Huskies!

Have Fun said:

No CIF championships in the next five years for South Hills, Charter Oak and Damien. With this new league. They have Glendora and Chino Hills to deal with, just to get through league.

The even bigger task than league is the division, I am aware of SO, CO, and Damiens attempt to get the division realigned, won't happen. They all realize they have no change against the Baseline league. Damien got smashed by the Baseline's fourth seed, at large bid Upland. They also have to deal with Rancho, Los Osos, and Etiwanda. All four of these teams would destory Damien, SO and CO, as we saw in Damien's first round loss to Upland 30-6.

No CIF championships for South Hills, Charter Oak, and Damien in the next five years.

COSteelCurtain,

CO certainly had a great run the last two years...congrats.

As far as worrying about other schools as if we can't compete, well, something tells me you might not have been thinking that as we lined up for that "lil ol" two-point conversion. And we have NEVER run away from ANY competition...even though we have gotten it handed to us every now and then.

You should focus on little 'ol Burbank first and your neighbor up the hill CV. Chagers don't rebuild. We reload! 2 years ago we had 2 seniors on defense - Scoreboard: CIF Ring. This year we had a young offense - Scoreboard: Back to Back CIF ringS.

Reload!

We are DR,

Yes, you guys are 2-1 against us, and got the better of us this year in Week 0; but just like last year I think it would have been different in the playoffs...woulda, coulda, shoulda, right? Btw, we will DEFINITELY see each other in the playoffs if the division isn't tweaked, and I love your confidence about winning it all next year. Congrats on another great playoff run!

Freddie J,

"Interesting," hunh? That isn't ambiguous at all. Lol! It would be a great way to open up the season though.

FJR,

I think it'd be great for both teams. This past season we were very young, and you guys were veteran-laden, next year it will be reversed. I'd very much like to see the rematch.

Btw, I HATE that CO and SH are leaving the SE division, and I'd love to see the Sierra in the SE....I ABHOR watered down divisons and it would most certainly be watered down if they were to leave.

JFR said:

SGV, right now we have Gardena, Esperanza, Rancho, Santa Fe and I know we are still trying to fill week five for sure and it's either week 0 or 1 that is open.

Wow - so they play 17 on defense in the Miramonte League.

It explains how CO got all of those shut outs - that 6-5 front would be hard to run against.

Aaron - didn't I read in one of these blogs that you were in military. Where are you stationed. Stay safe.

JFR said:

MFK, CO graduates 32 seniors so yeah we might take our lumps but thats life. Like I said CO had maybe the best freshman team ever so young in age but not in talent.

Aaron said:

I think CO will take their lumps but I don't see them missing the playoffs or a losing season. Their Freshman had one of the best seasons ever also blanking the league. They will be young, but by the end of the season, they will be a wrecking ball by the end of the season.

They have Santiago and Rufus back for a wonderful passing game that will have to appear.

SGV FOOTBALL said:

Wow way to many selections for all the teams in the Miramonte.

Aaron,

You're right lets just hope the Sierra gets to stay in the Central with some of IE teams, because if they get booted down to the Southeast division I guarantee you the divison winner will come from Central every year if that is the case.

JFR,

Any news on who else has been added to the schedule? I'm glad to see Esperanza has been added to the schedule. Always good to see Pac 5 teams in the Valley.

MFK said:

JFR,

When you talk about Charter Oak being young next year I don't believe you because I have yet to see them rebuild and instead they reload every year.

Now if what you say is true then talk about bad timing because I know for a fact Chino Hills will have their best team they have had in years and South Hills has plenty of talent returning also.

Damien and Claremont are two question marks next year but I do know Claremont has their quarterback and top receiver returning plus Damien has to be a contender by default because of Gano and they will be the defending league champion.

Can you say Charter Oak goes from the penthouse to the outhouse? I can't wait for the Sierra League next year..!

when does sierra league comeout?

Aaron said:

Don, I can't believe I didn't see that. Mikity seems to be quiet member to me from the guys I listed, since I didn't catch the mistake...I think that Bearcat defense is going to be really and I mean really good.

DR Fan, Yeah I know...but they're going up to the Sierra...and I'll tell you this re-leaguing will have been for naught if the Sierra league is moved down to the Southeast Division.

JFR said:

Three placekickers and two freacking punters, now I know why kids have eighteen patches on thier jackets and they play one sport. I told you this league would take cake.

Don said:

To tell the truth, you missed a couple more:
It's Derrick McCanless and Matt Gelalich . . . and Mikity goes to Bonita not Wilson.

DR fan said:

Aaron,

dont forget I think the co freshman blanked all of us in league Just like there varsity did.

Aaron said:

Fred...only one corrections from your boys in La Verne: Garrett Pendleton, not Garey.

I Think JFR was right...we seem to game out awards to everyone this year...although the the juniors and sophs that Bonita have are going to be amazing next season. Daniel Harriman, Codie McKenzie, Garrett Pendleton, Garrett Horine and Matt Gelalich.

I think Bonita had one its best Freshman classes. The JV team also went undefeated, and DR loses a lot, more than they lost last year. So if its not a bright year in the San Miratonio for Bonita I'll be scratching my head. Defense and Offense should both be better. Need a kicker though.

LA Insider said:

Only 37 spots on the First Team?

What, there was no room for the Water girls?

That's disgusting Miramonte League!

Corrections: said:

Scott Tibbs is a sophomore for Los Altos // Brandon Alcedbvedo is a senior for Wilson // Patrick Neal is a senior for Wilson // just shows the real lack of attention put on these lists

JFR said:

Stang fan, Big Lou has put that on the table to Roddy so there is a chance. The problem is is that CO probably fielded it's best ever freshman team this year and Roddy saw them beat his guy's I want to say 52-0. If we hook up next season you could very well get us, outside of a few very good players we be veeerrrrry young

Please Explain...... said:

Fred,

What do they base first and second team on, I know it isn’t stats. Those two backs from LA have to be the worse in the league no doubt, and they made first team. They combined for a amazing 946 yards, yes combined and they made first team. This kid Tibb’s averaged 36.9 yards per game and Rodriguez averaged 57.7 yards per game. Then you have Vega second team, he had to average more yards per game than both those kids combined. Please why don’t you explain the process to all of us, I am confused.

Congrats on an excellent year and HS career AJ, and good luck in the future!
