I have to agree that Fred and the SGV Tribune have done an awesome job. I'm sure Fred did his best not to break this tradition. Threatening to cancel a subscription is absolutely stupid and childish.

And to BA fans...

If it were not for this blog, there would not be a resurgence of BA football. The creation of this blog brought about change as it brought BA football into the spotlight for better or for worse. Of course all will claim that they do not read this blog but we all know in our hearts that that is BS. This blog gave a voice to Amat alumni and supporters. That voice screamed, "we will not wither away into nothingness."

This blog gave Bishop Amat football the most precious gift any program can receive.

That gift is called "accountability."

This News organization has done a stand up job covering these young men all year long. Without a doubt, do it right, be accountable and move on.
ALL SGV players didn't care what part of the season it was, what day it was, whose field it was, etc. They just kept bringing it, and bringing it and bringing it til the job was done. That's character. Being ALL SGV wasn't and isn't a GIFT to be GIVEN. They stepped up, were committed and lead themselves and their teams to something pretty great. The first step to greatness is to be totally committed. Great job ALL SGV Players and SGV Tribune.

Today was a color back page, but looking forward to seeing it tomorrow, I noticed a difference in the Bulletin's and the Trib's All Area Teams: The Bulletin does a separate article for both COY and POY...I'm guessing that has more to do with higher than Fred, so it is up to us as the subscribers to get on the big boss at the Trib if we want more stuff.

No one has integriry? That's the problem. Christmas Spirit had it right and shut most egos up for 24 hours of peace and quiet. This is all ego driven to one up your family, friends and neighbors. No one is going to cancel anything because very few have a subscription to cancel in the first place! If your feelings are so hurt and your righteous indignation is so offended put your money where your mouth is and stop blogging. Stop yelling at Fred and the Tribune all the time and stop blogging, or is that different.

Couldn't of said so better myself Scrooge and I too will discontinue my subscription on Monday. We should actually start a campaign and let our voices be heard in canceling or subscription because obviously our emails are never responded to either by editors.

Traditions are never meant to be broken but this time you have shattered something that I looked forward to as well. Tell me Fred that your at least humiliated to say I work for the Tribune after today's shortcomings. I can tell too that was such a smart decision to publish the Water Polo section today too. I see there are quite a few posts people commenting on today's story.

The Tribune's reputation seriously has no creditability and is shameful. Bring back the glory days of year's pasts! Goodbye newspaper and hello internet!

Talk about egos!!! It's not enough that your sons earned their All Area status, no it's Christmas and in the Spirit of Christmas so many are acting like spoiled children who didn't get the perfect present they wanted. Sure it's about the kids. Talk about ego driven bashing of Fred. Everyone who made All Area, and their families know, but that's clearly not enough. Stick it in the face of Uncle Bob who you can't stand and loves to brag about his success. Stick it in the face of Aunt Margaret who is so full of her self and her kid's accomplishments, you'll show her. Come on Fred! You've denied some their last opportunity to brag, bore & belabor everyone with one highlight story after another this year. In the Spirit of Christmas Fred you have denied some the greatest gift of all, the gloat! This year, with so many families absent of a simple Christmas tree or gifts for their loved ones, and with so many worried about keeping their jobs or paying their mortgage, it's disturbing to see some act the way they do. Merry Christmas Fred, Steve, Reg, Aram, Pete, Clay. the Mid Valey Gang and all the support staffs that put themselves out there, week after week, while worrying if they will have a job next week. Tell me true Fred, has it ever been this bad in the newspaper industry as advertizing dollar hit an all time low and a Giant like the LA Times faces extinction? Tough times are still ahead as the bottom is almost two years away, yes two years. merry Christmas everyone and thanks to all the athletes and coaches who make this all happen in the first place.

ridiculous...the trib is an absolute joke now, no doubt about it. couldve added extra ads another day instead.

It was not just about the black-and-white page, normally we have an open back page on Christmas for the All-Area team, but this year our advertisers sold ads on that page. It's the economy, we're fighting for revenue like anyone else, so some of these decisions are out of our hands. I feel terrible about it, I loved our Christmas Day tradition just like many of you.

Fred, this cannont be so. I already had my alarm clock set early in the morning to run to my neigbors yard and take his newspaper from his front steps. I need to know when the paper will be coming out so I can set my alarm clock, we are in a recession so I need save every penny.
