San Dimas pulls it off, shocks undefeated Monrovia in the rematch, wins first title 12-7; Cats lose ninth straight championshp game

San Dimas coach Bill Zernickow
"We worked our butt of for it. Our kids played hard, we knew what was at stake and we learned a lot from the first game. Nobody said it could be done, but we showed a lot of effort. They (Monrovia) had a big monkey on their backs, I don't know how that played into it, but I'm proud of our kids, they executed the game plan. We came out with the no huddle and made plays."
Monrovia's Nick Bueno
"They got way better. We couldn't get it done tonight. It hurts, I don;t know what else to say."
San Dimas' Ryan Kohler with 108 yards, as four Saints had 60 or more yards rushing for 217 yards from scrimmage.
"We had to keep running hard, we couldn't let up.They're an awesome team, we had to keep playing hard, none of this was easy, it was a battle."
Monrovia coach Ryan Maddox
They brought a great game plan, hats off to them, they beat us up front. They completely took us out of our offense. We struggled all night."

Cant get enough of this blog. Your opinion and facts truly let people know what its all about.
The layout is what really caught my eye, then the i looked at the writing and i think you did a very nice job. Good work:)
I dont know what to say. This blog is fantastic. Thats not really a really huge statement, but its all I could come up with after reading this. You know so much about this subject. So much so that you made me want to learn more about it. Your blog is my stepping stone, my friend. Thanks for the heads up on this subject.
Resist the temptation to "cut and paste"!
OMG!!!! A FANNNNNNNNNNN !!!!! I"M SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED !!!!!!!!
Better to have a story than to have nothing but darts....any one can tear people down but the point was and is....people deserve the right to fail...that was the point.
Nice to know when I'm gone this blog will still have you.
Notice how many threads die on the vine?
If it wasn't for anti rebuttals and the occassional "dckface" like comments most of these threads would go the way of cross country.
Just look at this thread....lol
Either way I see your point .... and I agree it's time to retire.
Did I ever tell you about the time ....lol
Hey FC it's time to put that old worn out Harvard story out to pasture. You're right on the after 22 years nothing changes, as I can see you're still the biggest bullslinger to ever came out of Salesian . You are right that it is time for you to retire from blogging. You keep telling the same stories over and over and over again.
COCFan,
Point taken, and we'll see, and yes have to root for our guys to beat the kids from the North.
Did S.D. have their banquet yet? If so how about some info. on it please. Thanks

in the old days t.c. would of started the second straight just to keep the crowd from leaving at haft time.my friends from monrovia said it looked like you guys had only one good player.0-9 in the big games, thats why us that played in the rio hondo league never look at monrovia as a power house.the record speaks for it self.he said we looked more like the pussycats then the wildcats quoted from p-tap.he and his new girl went into the game with there chest all pumped out and left with there pride broken.
thats not right to do that to your ex pussycats

No Aaron I don't think that Crenshaw's win was a fluke but I'm not the one saying that they aren't deserving to be in the open game.
I watched the Servite vs. Edison game on tv and it was a mud wrestling match not a football game...and it favored Servite by a large margin...Edison is a prolific passing team and I suspect that they win like earlier in the year on a dry surface but that wasn't in the cards. They played, Servite won and they are the rightful champs. But, the best team doesn't always win a given game but the rankings still put Servite above Edison even though they would lose pretty much every time on a fast track...which is why I think that rankings are good for discussion but are suspect as a predictor of which team would win a given game.
Crenshaw is deserving on paper and I'm rooting for them to show it on the field.
Funny but...who said Serra wouldn't be a good test for Charter Oak?
Serra will play Marin Catholic. for a State Title..anyone know why that Marin Catholic team sounds familiar to this blog?
Sometimes "karma" is on your side...too funny!
Talk about a GOING AWAY GIFT !!!!
YES...IT'S TIME !!!!
Joe,
It's a bit different at the FBS level, because most of the skeds are made about 10 years in advance, with a few exceptions (those being when a team backs out of the contract, like Kansas State is trying to do with UCLA). Boise State's problem is look where they were 10 years ago, they weren't considered a top 10 team, let alone a top 25. It's not as easy as Chris Peterson calling up Urban Meyer and saying, 'Hey coach, want to play?' If u look at their sked, the teams they do play are about their level as it was then. And they've always tried to play a pac-10 team, especially a Pac-10 Northwest team, hence Washington a few years ago, Oregon the past two years, and next year they get Oregon State and Va. Tech. A few years ago, the year after the great Fiesta Bowl win, they played at Georgia. They just didn't have the team to take on that challenge, because that Fiesta Bowl team was senior laden.
JoeAmuat,
You said you liked facts, and I noticed more as I went towards a quantitative argument that my original assessment does not hold water. I think Servite will do just fine, they've accomplished so much at this point that the bowl game is just ising on the cake. But I'll also look to Servite to go the distance showing just how good and discipline a team they really are.
Aaron,
Now we're discussing two different things. First you said Crenshaw didn't get the "respect" they asked for and got the shaft. That's where my dispute comes in. As My Friend also says below, I think they got the ultimate respect.
But now you are talking about whether it's the "correct" decision - and that's differnt. Here - I agree with you. It is clear that Servite is the more deserving when you look at the facts you stated. And you know how I love facts. The Freeman Rankings used by MaxPreps and the CalPreps end up pretty darn accurate by the end of the year after all the data is in.
CalPreps final projections were
Open Servite (Anaheim) vs. De La Salle (Concord)
D1 Chaparral (Temecula) vs. Bellarmine Prep (San Jose)
D2 Westlake (Westlake Village) vs. Rocklin
D3 Serra (Gardena) vs. Modesto Christian (Modesto)
Small Parker (San Diego) vs. Modesto Christian (Modesto)
Part of this "Bowl Process" is subjective and a bit "political... much like Steve's BCS. This season there has been much lobbying on the part of the LA City Section (and Sondheimer at the LA Times). The committee may have felt it would have been wrong (or looked that way) to "slight them" by giving them the DII slot. So it looks like they went by record alone, rather than other criteria. But you and I know (and maybe a couple others) that it is not only record that matters - especially in the instance of different leagues, divisions, sections, or schedules. As you've said, who you've played, who your loss is too, heck , sometimes you just *know* what team/level is far, far, far superior (sorry - I had to!:?)
And if we want to continue that California list of National Rankings for our SGV teams we have Bishop Amat at #102, Charter Oak at #309, San Dimas #1031 and Diamond Ranch #1465 out of what - 15-17,000.... pretty good
So right decision - probably not. Shafted - heck no... an opportunity!
Steve-O,
I agree, in theory, with a few games here and there to balance your schedule. Not everyone is as crazy as Servite - but look what it got them. I really do agree that of the league is tough, you can afford to play down a bit. If your league is relatively soft - you should schedule up to balance that before league. And if you don't... you have no right to claim to be among the best. Since you use the BCS theory - isn't that why undefeated Boise St remained below 1 loss Florida.. because they didn't do enough scheduling non-conference games to balance the "soft" WAC? Yet Florida's "weak sisters" didn't hurt them because of their SEC schedule?
Thanks for the assist on Ramona. They say the minds the second thing to go - I don't remember the first.
Who said it was a fluke. Crenshaw's schedule by comparison was weak to Servite's which is one of many reasons why they are ranked fifth in the state. You obviously think what Servite has accomplished is a fluke. But as someone said in regards to San Dimas, all that matters is that you have one more point than the other guy because that means you win. Rain and mud are the largest tests in Football, snow is much more manageable unless it is a blizzard. Servite beat Edision, Edison's offense could do nothing all game...Servite didn't do much until the second half as the rain affected both teams. But Servite executed. And it was a given that Edision was going to the Open Division game if they just beat Servite...so if you're going to send the number one team in the state so long as they win the game why aren't you doing that now? Even though the team is a different one than one that was number one on Saturday morning, you're denying the number two team in the nation from going to the open division to a team that is ranked 39th.
So Aaron, do you think that Crenshaw's win over Lakewood was a fluke?
Servite barely got by Poly and would have lost to Mission Viejo if they could kick PATs. And, the weather played a very big part in their win last night...Edison wins again without the rain.
So, why not Crenshaw?
Aaron and Joey I find this conversation extremely refreshing. Two men of different ages and different experiences looking at the world from two completely different perspectives...and respectfully making their points.
I know Aaron is a thoughtful young man who has made some tremendously difficult decisions in his life and My Pal Joey...well what can I say...the man has been there done that.
Here's my take on this. CIF did Crenshaw right. What I mean by that is CIF said..."We believe in you...now go make So.Cal proud". In the end of the day nothing could be more powerful a statement to this community and to this school than to put them front and center...I know I'll be pulling for them.
I've told this story before but it's worth repeating. When my son was very young I told him Harvard would call...and I told him why....and the I told him he needed to prepare...and finally I told him.... do you understand? He wasn't 10 years old at the time, lol.
When he got the call from Harvard he did apply and while he did not get in he does have the distinction of being part of a select few...in the world actually...who can say...'I interviewed for Harvard". Thta will stick with him for a lifetime...even at USC when the conversations took a "where did you apply turn in the dorms...few could say "they interviewed"..so he knew he'd accomplished something.
The night before I sent him off to USC I drove him thru every gang neighborhood I grew up in....Varrio Nuevo, Garrity, Harzard, Maravilla, White Fence ect ect...finally I took him to the house where ...ummm.."people brought things" back in the day.
I drove past the house, put the car in reverse, rooled down the window and waited for the door to open...a young girl opened the door and I shouted..."Is Roy there?"...she yelled back...'Big Roy or Lil Roy?" I said...."Tell Big Roy Frank came by"...she said..."oh..okay?" and we drove off.
As we drove off I told my son...."I haven't been to that house in 22 years...Big Roy is the son and Lil Roy is the grandson"...He said..."You know Big Roy?" I said.."No "Roy" died...Big Roy is the son" He seemed confused.
I told him..."22 years later the son replaced the father and the grandson replaced the son in a sort of weird reshuffling ...around here nothing changes...even 22 years later!"
Aaron...Crenshaw may lose and maybe they won't but you can never replace the feeling those players, coaches, former players and coaches and community feel right now knowing they made it!!! They arrived...hopefully lives will be changed and if that happens won't that be something? Maybe under all those lights someone gets a chance at college or someone decides...there is more out there....you never know.
Now I have my youngest looking towards Harvard...he learned from his brother and expects to someday sit along side the brightest minds in the country...if not the world. Is he over reaching...I don't think so as long a he continues the "chance" will be there.
Crenshaw has earned the right to fail Aaron..to test themselves on the biggest stage against all odds...to risk everything and fail....they have also earned the "right" to succeed. Maybe over time My Pal Joey and I have been saying the same thing on this blog.....I'd rather fail at "something" than to succeed at "nothing".
"The Shaw" is back...expect to see many former professional athletes in attendance at The Home Depot Center as "The Shaw" delivered athletes like rain back in the day...expect it to get loud!!!
Joe, just to set the record straight, Glendora tied Ramona of Riverside in 1989, not El Dorado.
And I don't think playing a few weak sisters hurt you.
Look at the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, where Florida plays a few weak sisters every year, but still played for an won national titles n 2006 and 2008, and played for a chance to get into the BCS title game, but lost to Alabama, who also had a two gimmee games. Most would agree that the Floridas and Bamas would continue to do it as long as it doesn't hurt there BCS chances, and so far it hasn't.
Hey Schuster,
How does my ass taste??? What school will you jump to next year in search of a ring???? Anyone want to take bets?? My money says he's talking to Big Lou this week about a coaching job!!!
Great job to the San Dimas staff and kids. You earned it!!!!
Also for our wonderful state:
1. Servite 2 in the Nation
2. Edison 6 in the Nation
3. Mission Viejo 14 in the Nation
4. Westlake 19 in the Nation
5. Crenshaw 39 in the Nation
6. Serra 44 in the Nation
7. Chaparral 46 in the Nation
8. Moorpark 52 in the Nation
9. Concord De La Salle 54 in the Nation
10. Rocklin 60 in the Nation
13. Bellarmine Prep 70 in the Nation
15. Oceanside 83 in the nation
This is all MaxPreps, I guess what I should be saying is how in the world do the Commissioners slight the number one team in our great state of California and second team in the nation by not giving them the Open Division birth more than I should be saying that Crenshaw is the sacrficial lamb. But I look at DLS schedule and they lost to the State Champion of New Jersey Don Bosco Prep which is the number one team in the nation and to Lakeland which is the 89th team in the nation but lost it's only game to a team that is in the state championship game.
I understand your point Joe. I just don't think Crenshaw has a chance in the open division. And if it was me out there playing for Crenshaw and received the honor of being named the best team in Southern California going into the Open division championship, I would not run away from it.
But I'm not and I think the best team in Southern California is Servite and I think the CIF commissioners made Crenshaw the sacrificial lamb.
Somebody help me out, or I may be alone on this one.
Maybe our friends at Charter Oak can help us out. I wonder if the fans here would rather be selected to participate in the DII final or be honored to have a chance at the Open Championship. Or maybe even, just settle for back-to-back CIF-SS Championships and leave it at that.
You may be right... Crenshaw may lose to DeLaSalle and the winner of the Pac5 probably has the best chance. But I think the only failure is running from competition when you have the opportunity.
football in the sgv is worthless - go ask Mater Dei and Orange Lutheran what they think about their last matchup with a "worthless" SGV team.
I honestly think Crenshaw was set up to fail. I believe Servite would compete and would have a punchers chance against DLS, whereas I believe Crenshaw has none. I think Crenshaw would have a much better chance to win facing Rocklin, even though Rocklin is no pushover since they took out Grant on their road to a section title. I understand that giving them the shot at the Open Division is supposedly giving them the most respect but in this case I don't think so. And if they beat DLS then I will be eating my words.
Congratulations to the Saints and Coach Zernickow on their first CIF football championship to go with their baseball title. Kind of puts the pressure on the basketball team doesn't it?!?
To the SD Saint that asked below, and funny you should ask, Glendora (and Dean Karnoski RIP) won share of a football title when they tied El Dorado in the late '80s and Coach Leduc followed that up with a basketball title. On that football team was one Bill Zernickow! In '95, under Tom Salter, Amat won a CIF Football Championship over Loyola and went on to beat Fountain Valley for a baseball title, coached by Glen Martinez (now AD/AP at Charter Oak). Then in 2002 Amat is the lone SGV school, in my knowledge, to pull the CIF Basketball/Baseball combo - winning a hoops title with Ray Lokar at the helm and Ken Kendrena led the baseball team to its championship. Their may be others - but those are the ones at the top of my head.
Aaron, I wonder why you feel that Crenshaw got slighted or disrespected by getting placed in the "Open" Championship game? The Open game is reserved for the best teams - so the committee was saying they are most deserving! The way I think - that's respect!
You certainly aren't saying they would rather have an "easier" opponent in a State "Championship" game are you? By saying that the Pac5 Champion "would give DeLaSalle a better game" that's what it sound like. Unfortunately, that's the kind of thinking that goes on too often in our SGV fishbowl and creates the perception that the region has SoCal.
If you listened to coach Z interview after last year Smudge, he said "Its the beggining of our history"! Over the last four years SD record has been quite impressive. We play where were designed to play by CIF and do a pretty good job!
The future looks bright and I think all the alums of this years team will be out like last year's team. One of the impressive sites last night was seeing Nico Barbone hugging Ryan Kohler! Great warriors and I understand there good friends. Just great to see!
Dirty Dozen" its now your turn, so keep that tradition rollin..
WHAT YOU PLAY RUGBY IN THE OC! SGV PLAYS REAL FOOTBALL IDIOT!
OC SUCKS AND SO DOES YOUR LITTLE BOY'S COMMENT! GO BRUSH YOUR TEETH, YOU MORON.
Just pathetic excuse for football..come down to the OC where real football is played.
sgvpride, SHUTUP IDIOT! I'M WEAK. HAHAHAHAHAA..... SISSY.
SGVSOFT
You must be some kind of moron, week, as in days of the week are one thing. Weak, as in your a soft little man is another. I said weak! get it right before you start correcting people.
I already congratulated the Saints last night.
Now onto Sunday Tribbin':
Sad Westlake doesn't get a shot to go to a California Bowl Game. I don't know if it will happen next year but at some point it won't just be a Bowl game but we'll have Southern and Northern Regional round before the state bowl.
Crenshaw wanted respect, honestly they didn't get it. Servite will probably beat Rocklin. Serra will be good. Same with Cathedral. If anyone saw the Concord De La Salle game last night you will understand my assessment. DLS went up 42-0 at the half and then pretty much put in all two and threes the rest of the way and won 49-14. The better game to see would have been a Servite-DLS match-up since Servite played the hardest schedule in SoCal.
SGVPRIDE AKA(GLADSTONE): THE ONLY THING THAT'S WEAK IS (YOU)! ALSO KNOW WHAT YOUR SAYING! WEEK, NOT WEAK!.
FOOTBALL ALL YEAR LONG!
The San Dimas Saints played one HELL OF A SEASON & deserve this championship !
I did not think they could do it & they DID !
Congrats San Dimas !!!
Fight On
TM
Great game to both teams!
For those who asked, I spoke to a man that was at the hospital last night and he told me Mr. Johnson was released from the hospital last night but will require an MRI. For those who enjoyed the game last night please keep Bubba in your prayers. He is a great young man and a very valuable football player on an incredible Monrovia team!
Almost forgot,
Open Division Championship---
Crenshaw Cougars(14-0) (Crenshaw) vs De La Salle Spartans(12-2) (Concord)
You heard it here first,
Small School Bowl Championship-----
Modesto Christian Crusaders(14-0)(Modesto) VS Francis Parker Lancers(11-2)(San Diego)
Division III State Championship-----
Marin Catholic Wildcats(13-1)(Kentfield) vs Gardena Serra(14-0)(Gardena)

Rocklin Thunder(14-0)(Rocklin) vs Servite Friars (13-1)( Anaheim)
Division I State Championship----
Bellarmine Prep Bells(11-1-1)(San Jose) vs Oceanside Pirates(13-0)(Oceanside)
Have to wonder what impact last year's suspensions had on the team that should have won last year. Coach Z proved to be a better man than what some would have us believe. This San Dimas team proved to be more focused, more united and much more focused. They are young and next year will be stronger as new players step up and the dirty dozen provide leadership. Congratulations to the San Dimas Community and to the San Dimas Staff, when's the Championship Parade down Bonita Ave?
WE HAVE TO GIVE IT TO THE CROUD...THE WEATHER CONDITION WAS WICKED....WHAT A BUNCH OF DIE HARD
FANS....REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE WHEN FANS SIT THRU A GAME WITH A WICKED STORM LIKE WE HAD LAST
NIGHT....I SAW LITTLE ONES, ELDERLY, MOMS, DADS,
FRIENDS, AND IT WAS SURE NICE TO SEE ALL THE SUPPORT .....I LOVED IT....IM SURE WE MADE HISTORY WITH THE WEATHER CONDITION TOO....ONLY
OUT LOVE !!!!!CIF CHAMPIONS SAN DIMAS SAINTS..
CONGRATS TO YOU ALL.......
finally this weak football is over and we can move on to other sports
Great job by both Monrovia and San Dimas for providing the best high school football game I have ever seen. You just had to be there. Windy, raining, no one cared. It was said by reporters and fans that both the baseball team and the football team would not prevail and BAM! Two CIF Championships. What are they puttin in the water in San Dimas? I see how the Monrovia lovers either aren't commenting today, or have a bad case of the "should have's" either way final score San Dimas 12 - Monrovia 7.
All fun aside, our thought's go out to the family of #6 Derrick Johnson of Monrovia. I hope his injury is not serious and his recovery is a quick one.
Congrats Saints!!!!!! that was a great game last night.... it makes a little more sweet that you beat the wildcats in the RAIN even!!!!! CIF RING!!!!!! two in "09" thats great.... never listen to the negative always the positive..... Way to go DIRTY DOZEN...... 2012 !!!!!!!
The only thing that matters in a CIF finals game is 1 point. It doesn't matter about how much more 1 team should have scored. Get off the blog if you are going to be negative. Great job to both staffs. San Dimas coaches and players, you truly shocked the Valley. No one believed except the dirty 30 and their coaches. Enjoy it, stay together, and always be there for one another forever. No one can say anything to you about this. You have the last word, and if you ever forget, just look down on your finger to remind you.
Baseball? how boring! Lets not talk baseball but about next football season.
congratulations to all the winners....but please can we now start talking BASEBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
San Dimas should be commended for having a plan and a system that allowed their players to play fast and agressive the entire game. San Dimas got it done on the big stage and are champions. The one deep pass that San Dimas threw (was that the only pass?) was on the opening drive. It was a dropped touchdown but it was effective enough to keep our DBs deep enough to allow big chunks of yardage on the sweep plays the remainder of the game. Running the Wing-T out of no-huddle was a nice wrinkle as well. Realizing that it was a good idea to run to where they had us outnumbered was also a nice concept...
Monrovia should be commended for coming up with some big defensive stands each time that the game was on the line. Also, we never gave up. My heart may have stopped with just under one minute to play DeShawn Ramirez had a swing pass in his hands and about 97 yards of daylight in front of him. WOW!
Offensively, though, that was tough to watch. San Dimas had no reason to not gang up on the Monrovia run because we never even attempted to stretch the field deep. San Dimas did a great job of disrupting our delayed runs. I was hoping we would start going with more quick hitters (veer style dives) to take advantage of their tilted tackles. Nick had a brilliant run on our first possession and a gritty run for a touchdown late in the game.
San Dimas even gave us some assistance with multiple big penalties, including losing composure after we converted a very close fourth down. SD helped us again late in the game when it looked like they could run out the clock by sending Kohler up the middle at will repeatedly. Instead, they moved the ball backward with a deep toss play and put the ball on the turf.
I have to give Coach Maddox credit for making great decisions on fourth downs and having our guys prepared to not be fooled by the SD quick kick. By the way, #5 almost took that quick kick to the house, another flash of excitement.
I'd say there is a laundry list of items to address on the offensive side of the football this off season.
Overall, Congratulations to Monrovia and San Dimas for a great season. Only one team from each division ends the playoffs on a winning note. San Dimas got it done and is the CIF Champion.
Good luck to both teams next year as well.
only one thing to say Mtown huh''' CHOKE E E E e e!
It absolutely stinks to lose a championship. Monrovia had a great season and just did not win the championship game. San Dimas had a great season and "won the big game."
It's not fair to say one team (Monrovia) choked or "gave the game away." It also isn't right for San Dimas to GLOAT. Both were quality teams with great seasons but only one school gets the ring at the end. This year it was San Dimas. CONGRATS to them! Way to go SAINTS!! Congrats to Monrovia for having a GREAT season too, don't hang your heads be proud of yourselves and your great season.
We don't need it to be called a waxing. Its Called WINNING!!!! They could have won by 1 point!! They still won! Woo Hoo Saints! The Dirty Dozen will be around for the next two years, that only means, we can keep on showing all the haters out there that Saints will continue to be Alive and kicking butt!!! Ya Saints!!!!
FALLEN VIKE,HOW CSN YOU SAY SD WAXED THE CATS. THEY ONLY HAD TO DEFEND ONE PLAY ,UP THE FN MIDDLE ALL NIGHT LONG.WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING IS THANKING
THE CATS O. C.AND BESIDES SD ONLY SCORED 10 POINTS THATS NOT A WAXING.
CONGRATS TO THE SAINTS.I JUST WANT TO THANK THE OC FOR MONROVIA ,FOR BRINGING LAST YEARS PLAYBOOK. UP THE MIDDLE, UP THE MIDDLE. WOW, YOU DIDNT USE THE PLAYS THAT GOT THE CATS TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.YOU RAN BUENO ONLY 11 TIMES,AND WHEN YOU DID HE GAINED YARDS.
SAN DIMAS'S DEFENSIVE COACH SHOULD THANK YOU.HE ONLY HAD TO DEFEND ONE PLAY.AS FAR AS OUR D
GREAT JOB.YOU GUYS ONLY GAVE UP 10 POINTS.BUENO
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP YOUNG MAN.YOU ARE A GREAT PLAYER.
Now that was a game last night. SD literally waxed the Cats. Way to dismantle their offense. You put a hurtin on all their backs and scrambled a lot of brains. I still don't think they knew what hit them.
Congrats Saints...enjoy being champs. Well deserved.
QUIZNOS,
lol....dang i screwed that one up! Thanks for the correction and no I didn't get permission! Interesting history lesson though. I like that kind of trivia.
Hey steveo:
it is called the Twelfth Man not the twelve man - and did you get "copyright" permission from Texas A&M - they started the Twelfth Man back in 1922 when a student had to come out of the stands and suit up for a game - the real 'Home of the Twelfth Man"
MONROVIA SHUT OUT FOR 3+ QUARTERS!
DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!
ZERNICKOW NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO CALL PLAYS INSIDE THE 4 YD LINE. JUST RIDICULOUS, SHOULD HAVE BEEN 14 MORE POINTS
Aaron eats some crow tonight! you pull for the cats because youre a Bonita blowhard. We'll ring baby! How about two sports in one year!
Hey Joe Amat: Has that ever happen before? Baseball and Football in same year??
San Dimas Saints, CIF CHAMPIONS, never doubted it for a minute. Monrovia beat the Saints but the Saints beat Monrovia when it counted the most. Enough said! Congratulations to all the Saints players and especially to all the sophmores on the team 2012 (a.k.a the dirty dozen): #4 Kennedy, #5 Corona, #52 Zenner, #26 Ojeda, #31 Torres, #45 Anguiano, #59 Darling, #56 Ly... You boys are young but have a lot of HEART!
Congrats to the San Dimas Saints Football team for a great battle thru rain and wind. All the haters were proven wrong. Just like the baseball team last year you brought a lot of honor and pride to our small community. We are all proud of you! Coach Z for coach of the year!!! I would also like to thank the fans that showed up on this rainy night and braving tough conditions (The twelve man showed up to cheer!!!) It was crazy windy and raining out there! I have to give it up to the S.D. Drumline and band for showing up too...it was awsome to be there cheering with everyone. Thanks Mr. Sandt. Monrovias band was a no show!
Go Saints!
yeah coach bill live it up you totally out coached them. go saints
I got to say that I called this one also. I was not mad when I posted my comment earlier this week when I said that San Dimas was going to pull out the win. Saints great job, CO great job two titles for Covina Blvd is all good.
please post how the kid is doing on monrovia team that was hurt on the field, on our way out

But on the other side, I want to know what was going on with Monrovia?! What a bad loss, 13-0 before the game and now the ninth loss in the title game in school history.

Man, I didn't think about it...as I was thinking like how Glenn Davis Stadium is on Durward Way...oh well. But my point still stands.
Aaron - Isn't Charter Oak on Covina blvd too. Could THAT be what they meant?
Saints have never won a title, so they can't bring another ring to Covina Blvd. And yes I am just strictly speaking about Football.
Go Saints! Bring another title to Covina Blvd!
Normally root for the Saints but not tonight, my alma mater the Wildcats get it done...too many disappointments over the years and tonight is the time to host a banner in the new gym. Go Cats.
