Football’s Game Wanted Ads …. How about Charter Oak-Rowland, and Charter Oak-Glendora?

Above: Rowland quarterback Michael Ball as a sophomore in 2008 semifinal game against Charter Oak.

Here are the area football teams on CIF’s game wanted list that need to be filled as soon as possible.

First thoughts, why don’t Charter Oak and Rowland play in week 0, that would be a great rematch of the 2008 Southeast semifinal, and its Rowland QB Michael Ball’s senior year and first game back from injury …. Or how about the no-brainer, Glendora and Charter Oak renewing their rivalry in week 5 and making amends for why they ended this relationship in the first place…..

Charter Oak – Week 0 or Week 5 (has to be an away game)
Glendora – Week 5 (has to be a home game)
Rowland — Week 0 and Week 3 (site to be determined)
Wilson – Week 0
Damien – Weeks 1 and 4
San Dimas - Week 2
Bishop Amat - Week 9 (a really tough week considering everyone is virtually in league)
Chino Hills - Week 1

  • Outragous

Heard Mike Victor is having a D1 camp. It only costs $1000/kid and you may or may not get picked up by a college.

  • SGV FOOTBALL

Fred love that idea, Rowland week 0 and Glendora week 5! It seems like a no branier but scheduling never goes the way it should go. I would also like to see CO fill those spots with teams that are out of the SGV…

  • Mike Victor

I’m having a Backyard Brawl camp over the summer too. The winner gets a D1 Scholarship!!! Special guests include:

    Ice Cube
    Easy E
    2 Pac
    Notorious B.I.G.
    DJ Quick
    Snoop
    Dr. Dre
    and others……

Be there, or else no D1

  • Questions

    To Amat fans,

whos on Amat’s schedule for next year?

  • Rosco

I hear La Habra at Amat in week 2. Should be a good one. The stadium will be over capacity for this. both sides have quite a big following.

  • CIF Man

Congrats to all the Sierra League boys who made ALL CIF CENTRAL DIVISION first team:
    Ifo Ekpre-Olomu DB Chino Hills
    Chad Jeffries QB Glendora
    Austin Johnson DB Chino Hills
    Michael Gonzales LB Glendora
    Tre Hale DL Damien
    Josh Plonio Damien

  • Toooo Late

CIF Man your almost one month too late.

  • southeast fan

That rowland charter oak matchup would not be michael ball’s first game back. He played in the first round CIF matchup versus California HS. He looked pretty good for breaking his collar bone only 4 weeks before.

  • GIVE THEM A CALL

    SGV FOOTBALL,
I hear Edison has a week 0 opening and LB Poly has a week 5 opening . How about asking big Lou to make the call they are both out of the SGV.

  • wrong number

GIVE THEM A CALL – yeah – that’ll happen! Lou wants no part of anything like that. He’ll have his hands full in the Sierra & Central. May even have to travel the SGV next year in th eplayoffs – if they make it.

  • X- Supporter

Hit & Hustle Football Camp 2010,

You have all these Bishop Amat Bloggers telling all how superior their program is and it is now going to start hurting your recruiting. Because I for one use to support Steve Hgerty and his Hit & Hustle Football Camp. But no longer, I use to put links to this camp on our local youth programs website, not this year. We all know what this camp is used for a matter of fact a few of our kids are in your program today because of wait you saw at one of these camps. Not this year, sorry Steve but I’am waiting until the swelling goes down.

  • joemama

Sounds like Lance (R)ecrutier is at it again

  • GOT IT BAD

    joemamon,
What is it with your obsession towards LanceR . The guy hasn’t even posted on this thread and he’s on your mind. Get a grip.

  • SGVsBest

Does the fee for Amat football camp include a copy of the 2009 Championship Video? Oh…wait! Sorry I thought this was for the San Dimas and Charter Oak camps. Maybe I’ll just wait and go to a Champions Camp!

    Nah…nah…nah…nah…hey…hey…you’re Not…!

This just in – Charter Oak’s San Gabriel Valley Division Seven Postseason Tournament Championship Video
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY8WXlycPEY

  • Kimbo Slice (of Reality)

    FYI-

Being a GHS Football Booster, unless something has changed we are booked for DRanch in week 5.

Perhaps since it would not be a home game for us, as we were at home this past season (well sort of @ Bonita) against DRanch, we are looking for a new team in week five.

If C.O is available I am all for it! Look forward to that game every year. I was sorry to see it end.

  • Joe Amat

    Rosco,

La Habra is playing Servite Week 2.

Look for Amat to try to match up with an Inland Division Southwestern League, or a Pac5 Moore/South Coast team that also has a bye Week 9. Just moving down from D1, if Esperanza has a Week 9 bye in their odd #’d league that would be OK too – but no one else in the Century League fits the bill.

  • BETTER YET

    sgvsbest,
It also comes with highlights of you doing your best on the sgv’s best lug nuts . sucking the chrome right off them .

  • Bishop Amat Lancer Fan

Does anyone have an idea when the Bishop Amat Lancers will release their schedule for the 2010 season? I’m really interested to see who their opponents will be next season.

  • security

Not sure of the order but I hear South Hills is having Tesoro and Los Osos before the tough nuevo Sierra League play.

If you ask me, it’s scheduling “a little down, THEN up”…

    Monrovia (ok…)
West Covina (gotta keep the rivalry for bragging rights on Cameron going)
    Baldwin Park (why???)
    Tesoro (Mm-hmm.)
    Los Osos (Yikes!)

Sierra League / Charter Oak week 10, good luck!, seriously…

  • SGV watcher

Charter Oak vs Rowland needs to happen. Im sure Snyder would like to see his raiders win. I think they would knowing Charter Oaks Adam Muerma is gone. Who will Charter Oak give the ball to? Michael Ball senior year, I think he will lead the raiders to an undefeated season and maybe a Cif Championship. But who knows with the new league play. How about a Rowland and Bishop Amat Game. Two power houses. Rowland needs to test itself. Snyder needs to make a call to Amat and im sure they will gladly accept.

  • Lance R

    Joe mama,

Is obsessed with me, which tells me he must like something about me. Must be my Bishop Amat takes. Comes accross as a Amat hater but just loves hearing the great things about our program, especially football. Dang I did again, now all the haters will come in and attack the Bishop Amat program (this according to Joe Mama). They do it anyways what is the differance. Back to the topic at hand a CO/Rowland game would be a great match up seeing how the playing field will be level now that CO studs have moved on, not to say they do not have more left in the tank or do not re-load fast enough. A Champion in 09 vs a Star studded QB with skills makes for a great game. What else does Rowland have around Ball. How is their O-line.? JOE MAMA STICK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND LAST TIME I GIVE YOU YOUR AMAT FIX.

  • Dan

Just read that Isaac Tucker, former West Covina Bulldog running back will once again be a Bulldog after transfering into NCAA DivII Southwestern Oklahoma State University from Citrus College, Along with former wide reciever Tommy Cogburn of South El monte and linebacker Bronze Withem of San Dimas.
Here’s a brief write up from the college website
    for each of the transfers:
Isaac Tucker, RB, 5-10, 195, Jr., Citrus College…Team’s leading rusher as both a freshman and sophomore…Rushed for nearly 800 yards during his career, including back-to-back seasons with an identical 395 yards…Played in a California Junior College All-Star game…Graduate of West Covina High School where he was named the team’s offensive MVP as a senior.
Bronze Withem, 5-11, 225, LB, Jr., Citrus College…Injuries limited him to just two games during his sophomore campaign…As a freshman had 90 tackles for the Owls which earned him all-conference and ranked him third among freshman in the Southern California Football Association…Graduate of San Dimas High School where he led team with 130 tackles as a senior and earned all-area selection…Finished high school career with better than 350 tackles.
Tommy Cogburn, 5-8, 183, Jr., Golden West College…Played both defensive back and wide receiver for the GWC…Finished year with 29 tackles and two interceptions…Caught four passes for 83 yards, including a 72-yard touchdown against San Diego Southwest….Graduate of South El Monte High School where he was an all-league selection.
Good luck and hopeing all three of you make the most out of your opportunity and even more importantly your education.
