Sierra Vista wins: Sierra Vista High goalkeeper Rigo Moreno dove to his right and blocked the freshman Duarte midfielder Angel Espa’s penalty kick 20 minutes into the second half to preserve a 1-0 shutout in Thursday’s Montview League game.

Mountain View wins rematch: Mountain View High School’s boys soccer team can continue pursuing that dream after it defeated Rosemead, 2-0, in a key league match Thursday.

Amat girls hoops beat St. Paul: Bishop Amat’s Leticia Galarza had 24 points and scored on a rebound follow from eight feet with 11 seconds left, and Bishop Amat survived a scare from rival St. Paul for a 60-57 victory over the visiting Swordsmen in a Del Rey League girls basketball game.
